    Large indoor pool!

Nice place doing its best with an updated remodel. The rooms were fine, but a little thin with upstairs noise. Pool was great, perfect temperature, and BIG! Nice fire pit area and relaxing hammocks in back of office. Nice central location on RT 6, easy to find. Place just needs some landscaping and you're good to go.

This is our water pressure when turned all the way up. Notice that there is NO water.

NO HOT WATER OR RUNNING WATER!!! We made the mistake of choosing to stay here. When we checked in we were pleasantly surprised at how cute the room was. It was clearly an older motel that had been remodeled but it was done well. It was also a great price for cape cod. At first we had no issues. We enjoyed a day at the beach and planned to come back and take a shower to wash off the sunscreen and sweat and go to bed. Unfortunately we came back around 9:00 pm to discover that there was no hot water. At all. After running the shower for a few minutes to see if it would heat up, the water just stopped altogether. I included pictures. All we could get was a trickle of ice cold water from the tub spout. And yes we were using the knobs correctly. We would have reached out to the front desk but the paper in the room states they are only open until 6:00 PM. So none of us could shower or wash up in any way. Fabulous. We awoke the next morning to hear our neighbors out on their porch, we couldn't make out most of what was said, but heard "no hot water". We were glad it wasn't just us and expected an apology and possibly a discount or full refund on our stay. NOPE. A short while later we got an email saying the hot water would be shut off for repairs for 10 minutes. I'm like.... the water has been off for over 12 hours at this point, don't act like 'it's only going off for 10 minutes, no big deal'. We were checking out at that time anyway, eager to get to our next hotel so we could shower and brush our teeth. I went to the lobby to checkout fully expecting an explanation or what happened and at the very least an apology and a discount on our rate. This was our first vacation since before the pandemic started and we spent a pretty penny on this room. NOPE. The person behind the counter took my room key and said have a great day. I was speechless. I understand things happen and things break, but I couldn't believe there was no apology, no offer of a discount. I'm a very easy-going person but even I thought that was unacceptable given the situation we were put in. NO HOT WATER OR RUNNING WATER!!! We made the mistake of choosing to stay here. Stayed here for 2 nights just as they were heading in to the end of the summer rush. It was nice and quiet here because all the kids had gone back to school and folks hadn't come out here to see the foliage change yet. The people that greeted us were so incredibly kind. The first impression was very welcoming, which is always nice. The rooms were nice and clean, especially considering this is a dog-friendly hotel and all manner of people's pets have been here. They clearly made renovation choices that help with having furry guests. The design is very cute and classic. Hardwood floors and blinds instead of curtains. Because of the lack of carpeting and lack of curtains, the sound and light noise are pretty apparent. Which is to be expected of a motel style place. You will hear your neighbors stomping around upstairs and you won't get that full blackout feel that some hotels offer. (Note: the guests all quiet down very early because Cape Cod is the place to explore during the day!) Even though it may not be completely sound proof, there are some nice amenities to make up for it! We enjoyed an evening sitting by the beautiful propane fire pit. Our young one played with the lawn games in the sand, another guest used the barbecue offered and there are hammocks to enjoy relaxing in the trees. The pool was nice and clean (and empty this time of year/middle of the week.) So all in all a lovely stay! I might recommend earplugs and eye masks for the lights sleepers. Otherwise bring all the family and furry guests!

These have become condos, so each owner puts a different level of care into their property and prices are set according to their sense of value - so more $$ isn't necessarily a better cottage. The property manager is attentive and friendly. The ocean is right there. But it is a steep walk down the dunes. It's also a public beach. I always visit on the off season and have found the beach to be nearly deserted, even in mid June. It is especially lovely in the early morning. It's about a 3/4 mile bike ride to the cape cod rail trail, on the paved road which has little shoulder but in the off season anyway the drivers are safe and respectful. The road riding around the ponds is excellent -rolling hills, quiet roads. It's also only about a 10 minute walk to the Marconi site and cedar trail boardwalk. Go down lacount hollow towards rte 6 and turn down the sand road called "wireless". The ponds of wellfleet are a delight- clear and clean and again nearly deserted in mid June. The water is chilly though! I've always stayed in the cabin called surf side. It is well furnished and comfortable. Lots of storage, nice kitchen even a dishwasher! The stairs to the two upstairs bedrooms are VERY steep and precarious. My 70 old mother can just do them. The bathroom is modern and clean, shower only - with a skylight in it! The bath is right off the kitchen which can be a bit awkward-the owners have provided air freshener! On that topic - these owners provide much more than you would expect - Tupperware, bags and wraps, dish soap, all manner of dishes and cooking gear. The group of condos also has a laundry facility - $2.00 to wash and the same to dry. You need quarters. The town of wellfleet has ample dining options. The harbor beaches are nice for long walks and sea shell collection. Bugs are dismal everywhere in wellfleet, especially at surfside. Bring your preferred bug prevention and keep the screen door closed.
