That should be mentioned in the check in text instead of to head right to your room. Major con for my husband and he would have given if three stars for how annoyed he was by the TVs-None of the TVs work - the remotes are absurd and channels don't correlate to the guide that pops up, and the tv has only basic cable and a few channels- all the streaming apps are present but blocked somehow. Theyre exceptionally hard to navigate. For a bungalow at the beach, sometimes you want to watch tv. Also wish terribly that they had a hot tub, seems like a big miss for such a great resort! Lastly, the set up at least of our cottage was weird, the TV and couch were against the windows so you were looking at a wall, not the nice sunset and bay which was behind you. But, I'll still stay at the Paddlewheel because they do business the right way. Ju, do me a favor and don't come back. It will make it easier for me to get a room when I need one.

I liked that it's kind of private. The units have 2 bedrooms, 1 has a queen size bed and the other is 2 bunk beds. There's a kitchen with a cooktop, dishes, a refrigerator, and coffee maker. Really everything you'd need. There's also a screened in porch and you get 2 chairs and a table on the shoreline outside. It's the cutest little place with a lot of charm. The units are only about a year old and clean inside. The shower is also really spacious and nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Mark, Mike, and Connor were awesome!! There's a man made beach at the marina with chairs, a fire pit, and a pool area. There are a few grills also. The marina offers boat slips, jet ski tours, and boat rentals. They also have e-bikes, fishing rods, and kayaks for rent as well. The town is a very country laid back Hallmark kinda feel. You will see people riding bikes, mopeds, and golf carts everywhere. The speed limit is mainly 25mph everywhere. Most of the people were very nice. We even got a net and went crabbing off the pier . There's a designated smoking spot in front of the welcome center. I sincerely enjoyed the whole 4 days. I'll absolutely return! Check them out!!

It has a screened in porch looking out at the water. We didn't get to sit out in it because the weather wasn't great that weekend but it would be perfect on nice days/nights. As you enter the bungalow, you're in the living and kitchen area. There's a couch, small dining table with four chairs, and a wall mounted TV. The couch was very uncomfortable. It wouldn't have been that big of a deal if the weather was better because we would have spent more time on the porch and less on the couch. The kitchen has a coffee maker, cooktop, full sized refrigerator, and lots of cabinet space. No dishwasher but that was fine. The bedroom was really small and just big enough for the bed and a small area for suitcases or bags. The bed fills the alcove touching three walls. I'm 6'1" tall and my feet touched the wall at the end of the bed. It was fine for me but taller people might have issues. The bedroom tv didn't seem to have a remote so we were unable to use it. In the hall leading to the bathroom there are two bunk beds. Those beds are a little longer than the main bed in the bedroom. The bathroom is very big and spacious. There's a large shower stall with a handheld shower head. No bath tub (fine with us). The hot water doesn't last very long. One person can easily shower without a problem. The second is likely to run out of hot water if they shower too soon after the first. If I could change one thing, I'd opt for a larger bedroom and smaller bathroom. I also liked that we had our own driveway. It was very convenient for loading and unloading the car. Next to the bungalows there is a recreation area with cornhole and some other things (maybe a grill). We didn't use it but saw some other people using it and they seemed to have a good time. There's also a pool next to the rec area. We didn't use that either but it seemed nice enough. If we ever return to Chincoteague, we plan to stay here again.

The pool and beach are on site. You can't get in the water by your bungalows, but there are chairs outside so you can sit on the shore. The bungalows have everything you need inside as far as dishes and pots and pans. They also provide towels and linens. Check in and check out were very easy. You get into your bungalow with a 4 digit code that they email you before arriving. When you check out you just call and let them know you're gone. The trip was successful and we loved it here. There are water activities (jet skis, boats, kayaks) and grills on site. There's also e-bikes and fishing rods for rent. You can also purchase fire wood, ice, and charcoal onsite There are AC units inside each bungalow but the bedroom with bunk beds doesn't have a unit so either bring a fan or leave the door open, because it gets hot in there. The main room and living room have a TV that has Netflix and other streaming channels. I certainly think it's a vibe here... The staff is great. Mike, Mark, and Connor were very helpful!! It's all good because the migratory waterfowl are here then and it is such an experience to watch them all rise up together in a great cacophony at sunrise. In the evening they return and move around in great flocks to settle down for the night. Once in a while eagles will swoop in and grab one which is quite a sight. Sometimes our extended family will need several townhouses and the big cottage to have our Thanksgiving feast of turkey and fresh local oysters. The Daisey's have a well stocked kitchen for everyone and are always helpful when the occasional need arises as it always does - a crib or something. The heated indoor pool is great for the kids - and adults. And you can't get any closer to the Park Entrance. Perfect for bicycles. This is our 25th year if that tell you how happy we are with The Dove Winds.

My kids went out jet skiing on a guided tour for an hour for about $125. It's for up to 2 people…read moreper jet ski. The driver must be age 18 with a driver's license. Your given a little tutorial before beginning. They left and everything was wonderful. They were having a great time. But when they got to the other side of the island the fear kicked in because the channel has choppy water. My kids aren't avid swimmers, so being out that far in rougher water got the best of them. They sent an employee to guide them back in. My kids were so happy to see land again. Besides the fact that were afraid they still had fun. You do have to understand if you choose to go back it's a 5-15 minute wait for help to arrive depending on where you are. Which could be a little nerve wrecking if your scared. They send a little boat to tow you back. They did have a few issues that day with the battery dying in a few jet skis. But they quickly resolved everything. If you aren't afraid and can swim, I recommend trying this!! Connor and Mike were awesome!!! Check them out!!
