Un- real. I bought my car like two months ago. Took it in this week because the check engine light has been on. So I call to bring it in and the guy tells me two weeks. I reach out to the gentlemen who sold the vehicle to me and he got me in the same day with a loaner. Fast forward 4 hours to find out the new 2017 Ford Edge sport I bought needs a brand new engine. "Luckily for me I bought the water ty (3000.00) and it will only cost me "100.00" for the deductible. I said I would like a new car and to look into a bigger model , well golly gee in 2 months my car is worth 7,000 dollars less. Yea, not happening. The trade in I got for my Durango was 2,000 less than it should have been and they sold it For a pretty penny. When I took my 2015 Durango in they tried to charge me 2 times for diagnostics. This place is absolutely horrible, I had bought every vehicle I owned from here and the last two should have never happened. Shame on me. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for a vehicle, my sisters escape was in 7 times the first year she bought it. Don't waste your energy here. read more

Was on my way to a funeral in Redgranite, WI on a Saturday. A high pitched squeal was coming from my rear wheel so I decided to look for a Ford dealership near by to have it checked out to make sure it wasn't anything catastrophic. I live in IL but found Holiday Ford in Fondy on my way up and talked to Jason, the service advisor. He said to stop by and he would have a tech ride with me. Sure enough 30 minutes after the call, I showed up and immediately Greg the tech took a ride with me and said the squeal didn't sound like anything major but to have it checked out with my home service center if the sound continued. My mind was at ease and I made it to the funeral on time. The sound has since gone away after I washed the car so it probably was some debris on the pad or brake system. Anyways, thanks to Jason and Greg for taking time of their extremely busy Saturday. read more

What service! Our appointment was lost, but Cole made sure to get us in and taken care of as I scheduled. Mechanic found and was able to fix the problem. However, it was going to take a few hours. Cole, got us loaner and called us when my vehicle was ready. We were able to do a little shopping which was really nice! Thank you Holiday Ford the the incredible service! This was my first experience at Holiday Ford. I went in to get some work done that another shop had not fixed properly. The employees were nice enough. The lounge area had a 40" flat screen tv. The waiting lounge also featured a few things you don't see very much any more at car dealerships. They had a fridge stocked full of cans of soda that was all complimentary. They also had a popcorn machine that was also free. Fresh baked cookies were also available for no cost, as well as a computer set up so you could browse while you wait. Bring your smart phone or iPad? complimentary wifi was given as well. All in all the 2 hours I waited for the work to be done, flew by! All of this probably didn't cost that much to the dealership, but it sure does make an impression and make you not hesitate to want to go back. If you have have any work done, they also give your car/truck a bath on the house as well. It's almost like they were from a different era. read more

History

Established in 1959.

Holiday Automotive got its start back in 1959 when local car scene entrepreneurs Chuck Henkel and Bill Gores acquired Huber Oldsmobile and changed the name to Holiday Olds. In the 70's, Holiday's current president, Mike Shannon, joined the company in sales. The company operated out of a modest brick building on Main Street in Fond du Lac for a number of years before moving out to Rolling Meadows Drive near Highway 41 in 1978. To make the move possible, Mike Shannon, Jim Baldauf and Jim Flood all agreed to purchase a stake in the business to keep it moving forward. In the years since, the company has grown and Baldauf and Flood moved on to start their own successful enterprises. Along the way, franchises were bought and sold. Today, Holiday Automotive operates three locations: Holiday GM, Holiday Mazda, Holiday Ford and Holiday Budget Center. Together, all four locations make Holiday Automotive one of the Midwest's largest new and used vehicle retailers.

Michael Shannon Jr. began his career at Holiday Automotive in a hands-on role as a Hydro-tech, where he quickly demonstrated his dedication and talent. His passion for the automotive industry, combined with his strong work ethic, enabled him to rise through the ranks, taking on increasingly significant roles within the company. With each new position, Shannon Jr. proved his leadership capabilities and strategic vision, which eventually led to his appointment as President and CEO. Under his leadership, Holiday Automotive has continued to thrive, building on the strong foundation laid by his father, Mike Shannon. On our drive home I notice the left rear tire was at 37psi, but was not aware of the original number so I didn't pay attention to it. By the next morning it was down to 19psi. The only tire that was over inflated was the one with a slow leak. Additionally, they did not include a spare tire with the car and when we noticed it was missing they promised to ship it to us. Fortunately I had my son, who is driving the car and is away at college, keep a tire inflater in the car and he was able to inflate it and drive it home. I now need to take the day off of work to have the tire repaired. As an update to this review, I received a call from them this morning. The tire needs to be replaced, and they are not only replacing the damaged tire but all four. They offered to have someone pick up the car and leave a loaner for us to use while the tires are being replaced so I don't need to take time off of work to address this. While the loaner isn't necessary I appreciate them going above and beyond my expectations to correct this. Seeing how they take care of their customers in this manner we will absolutely consider them for our next purchase.

I don't usually leave long reviews, but after nearly 1.5 years of dealing with repeated issues, I…read morefeel it's important to share my full experience with Holiday Automotive- both as a personal and business commuter who relies heavily on a dependable vehicle. From the test drive, there were immediate red flags: the battery was dead, and there were noticeable vibrations in the steering wheel. The battery was replaced before the sale, but I flagged concerns about the vibrations right away, suspecting a wheel bearing issue. Despite reaching out to service promptly, it took three separate visits over several weeks just to correctly diagnose a front wheel bearing failure (initially blamed on a poor brake job by the previous owner). That ultimately led to rotor and bearing replacements. After the proper diagnosis, it took 4 weeks to order the correct part and another 2 weeks to install it correctly -- after the first install failed due to the part being broken during installation. Not long after, a flashing check engine light came on along with a strange noise from the engine. I brought the vehicle in again, explained the issue, and they replaced the spark plugs -- yet the light kept flashing, and the problem persisted. Despite this, I was reassured that the car was safe to drive, and my concerns were dismissed because the techs claimed they couldn't hear or replicate the sounds I described. Eventually, on my third return visit for the same issue, the check engine light stayed on -- joined by another warning light. While merging onto the highway, the car suddenly went into a violent death wobble, then locked up, made a horrific screeching noise, and came to a stop in the middle of the road -- with my young daughter in the car. It had to be towed back to Holiday. After finally plugging it in for diagnostics, the issue was revealed: misfiring on a cylinder and catastrophic engine failure due to internal bearing damage and metal contamination. This was just 2 months after purchase, and I hadn't even driven it much due to the previous issues. Thankfully, I had an extended warranty, which helped with the $9,600 engine replacement -- on a $10,000 car. But even with the warranty, I had to fight about what would and wouldn't be covered, especially since most of the original 2-month/2,000-mile dealer warranty was wasted while my car sat in their shop for 4-6 weeks. The engine replacement itself took from June to the end of September -- and during the entire time (March-September), I went through 6 different loaners and drove approximately 30,000 miles. From March to September, I only had my own vehicle for maybe 2 of those months. While the car has run better since the engine replacement, I've still had ongoing vibration and pulsating issues. In May 2025, I brought it back again for an oil change and wheel inspection. I dropped it off at 7:30 a.m. and didn't hear a thing until 3:30 p.m., when I was told it was almost done. By 4:30, I was informed that yes, I needed tires, brakes, and rotors, and more importantly -- the previous wheel bearing repair had failed due to improper installation. At that time, I was told that Holiday would cover the bearing repair since it was their fault. Then came a $2,000+ quote for the new tires, brakes, and rotors -- excluding the bearing. When I attempted to schedule the service later, I was informed that they never agreed to cover the faulty bearing, despite having clearly said otherwise earlier. That would've added another $400-$600 to the bill. I attempted to set up an in-person meeting with Service Tech Matt, Service Manager Jeff, and Willie (the COO) of the company, providing specific dates and times -- and no one followed up. Throughout this process, I've dealt with: * Poor and delayed communication * Multiple misdiagnoses * Broken or improperly installed parts * Weeks-long delays waiting for correct parts * A complete engine failure shortly after purchase * Blame-shifting, denials, and failure to stand by their own work I've tried to remain respectful and patient, but I've been ignored, dismissed, and made to feel like an inconvenience. This car should have never been sold -- it should've gone to auction. If Holiday doesn't have the experience to inspect, sell, or service European vehicles, then they shouldn't be doing so. At this point, Holiday has never truly made anything right -- they've only prolonged issues and failed to accept accountability. I will never return to Holiday and will not refer anyone I care about there. Over the years, they've clearly gone downhill in all departments, which is a shame. As a small business owner, a parent, and someone who needs safe, reliable transportation, I cannot stress enough how stressful, costly, and dangerous this entire ordeal has been, especially when you consider that my daughter was in the car when the engine failed on the highway. This was not a fluke, this was avoidable had they properly listened, inspected and repaired thing's.

Upon entry to the store we were pleasantly greeted by a receptionist who then quickly passed us onto a sales associate. It was noon time in the middle of the week, so Dave Witt listened to our purchase thoughts on wants and needs and very quickly showed us several vehicles they had that might be what we were looking for. It was nice to see a good variety of vehicles and options in so quick and friendly a fashion during a lunch break from work. We were out of there very quickly but set up a time to return after further thought. We returned a couple of days later on a Friday afternoon and obtained a new F-150 in a very painless and fast process. The no haggle price was very acceptable; the entire staff (both sales and finance) were very friendly, helpful, and informative; and there was no pressure to purchase at any time. I would highly recommend a visit to this dealership should you be looking for a new Ford product! read more

This was our first time at Holiday Ford. We chose them because we found a car they had on Cargurus (also recommended). We made an appointment, came in and were greeted by friendly staff. Our salesperson, Dave Witt, was helpful, professional, and most of all, not pushy! He was extremely knowledgable about the vehicle and explained all the features. They were able to work out a great financing plan, gassed up, and made sure the car was clean and ready to go. The lounge was stocked with water, coffee, cookies, and popcorn. This was the best car-buying experience I have had in a long time. My salesman, Jim Rauhut, walked me through the difference and pros/cons of buying vs leasing. Not once did he pressure me to make a decision, nor did act like I was stupid. I brought along a male friend as I had bad experiences in the past as a single woman. As soon as Jim realized I was buying the car and not my friend, all his attention was on me. It was refreshing, and I got an awesome deal. My body work turned out great! But they weren't able to find out what was wrong with my transmission. I was a little annoyed that I had to fill up the rental I had, but my car was almost on E when I got it back. Doesn't seem fair... other than that everything went good :) read more

Sales person (Dave Witt), Business person (Ben Wempner), and shuttle driver (forgot his name... last name started with a "D") were all above average. I plan on returning in the future. It also didn't hurt that there was popcorn and cookies in the lounge. read more
