Simple no-frills hotel, reasonably priced for this area! Clean and comfortable. Nice variety of pillows. Towels were absorbent but not so soft. The bathtub is nice and deep! Huge tv. Not a lot of room between the furniture and the chair- when i pulled the desk out, the chair backed into the bed. I got a room overlooking the parking lot. Walls are quite thin. Breakfast buffet has real eggs but no real creamer available. No real maple syrup offered either. Cheap pastries. I should have ordered fresh from the menu but no one explained to me- customer service is hit or miss here, some are fab and others can't wait to go home and it shows. I had a late bite - penne marinara special- was like penne noodle soup: overcooked and underwater. The bartender/server was kind, attentive and helpful. read more

Yes, I recommend staying here. The room was very clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. There's an on-site restaurant, and several other dining options and stores are within walking distance. This location was fantastic to get to everything in the Cape. The main lobby is open & welcoming, the hallways & their bar area is really nicely updated & clean everywhere. The team at the front desk was very accommodating & helpful with additional needs & tips. During the Pandemic they will not clean out your room unless you request the day before to do so (10pm latest), so be prepared for that. Parking was always a breeze. The rooms are large & include a fireplace if you need it on colder nights. We had a great experience in our room. There's a empty mini fridge to keep everything you need cool in your room. It was humid on a few nights we were in town so having the AC was perfect and very necessary. There's an indoor & outdoor pool that everyone enjoyed, we spent most of our days on the beach so we didn't use it, but it wasn't too crowded even though the hotel was fully sold out during our stay. So you wouldn't feel too crunched in the pool with others if you used it. The location is also close to multiple grocery stores, (ie: Whole Foods), we forgot some much needed summer reads & tour books of the Cape, luckily a Barns & Nobles was right there too in addition to multiple beach shops to get last minute needs like umbrellas or hoodies etc. There's a gas station directly next door with air pumps & snacks if you need to get anything before hitting the road or a quick snack for the hotel room. During the pandemic guests don't need to wear masks, but staff wears theirs & other guests were wearing them here and there in the main lobby. I'd recommend this hotel for anyone from couples, families, senior citizen touring groups and more. It was a great experience and I look forward to coming back. read more

hotel was great.. one reception girl wasn't very friendly but the rest I dealt with were. pool/hot tub area was good, towels available as needed. restaurant also good. the reason why review lost a star was bc housekeeping didn't do very good, some garbage left behind, bathroom counter not cleaned.. can see the dust accumulation. used "occupied" excuse to not clean room one day... had to call receptionist to complain. except housekeeping, I really enjoyed my stay, close to shopping, entertainment and restaurants. read more

Discriminates against local Cape Cod residents. I live in Falmouth, about 17 miles and 35-45 minutes away. I confirmed a reservation here for my son's 10th birthday, as his big birthday request was some family time swimming. The location was convenient, as my high school daughter also had an event at CCCC very early in the morning, and we had stayed at the hotel and enjoyed the pool in the past. I also work at an office very nearby. After a long work day, with pizza and presents in hand, and two kids in the car, I checked my voice mail, only to learn that we would be turned away due to being "local" and they would assist us with finding other accommodations. I called, but didn't get through right off, so called the main customer service number. After 30-45 minutes of trying to sort it out and being transferred a time or two, they told me this was in fact their policy at this location, and that they would inform upper management of my case and would email me in the next 48 hours. Great, but it left me scrambling for other accommodations with an indoor pool, and two rather concerned/disappointed kids. Not to mention a later night with an early start the next day. So, although the hotel was good in the past, I have to say I'm so burned by the IHG chain twice this year, that I will definitely not attempt to stay again and can only strongly recommend against this hotel, as I I'm opposed to this this and any other form of discrimination. Yet another very unfortunate experience with IHG for me. I also can't find this "no locals" policy posted anywhere on their web site, and it seems that if this was the case, the computer booking should have been able to inform me a lot sooner, as this had been booked earlier in the week. I stayed at this location twice. I wasn't pleased the first time, but gave it a second chance for our weekend cape getaways. During both visits, the staff was friendly but did not provide any details about the hotel, amenities, or even the area. In fact, neither time was I even informed how to get to my room. I was simply told it's on the first floor. I asked during check in about any food in area or on site and the front desk girl simply replied that it wasn't included with my stay. I didn't expect that it was, but wanted to know so I could order a meal Or determine if I needed to leave the hotel for meals. Based on the receptionist's reaction, I didn't even attempt to get food at the hotel, so I can't comment on food. The hotel pool was open (outside only and just until 7pm). I asked if the indoor pool was open as well and was told no, only outside. I didn't realize that the pool had towels for guests. I couldn't even find the pool From my room. I called the front desk and was told to follow signs. After wandering the hotel halls for 15 minutes, I finally found the small Outdoor pool. I took a quick dip but nobody was implementing social distancing and the pool was crowded. There was a staff member sitting playing on his phone next to the indoor pool (just next to outdoor pool). My room was beautiful but during first stay, There was a gross odor that smelled musty, mildewy and the rugs felt damp. I asked to be moved but was told that it was not possible. The odor was unbearable and caused me to mostly stay out of the room. I had to buy an air spray just to be able to sleep in there. The second visit the room ( not the same as first stay ) had a similar smell, but not as strong. I don't think I would stay again. For approximately $300 a night , I'd expect better customer service, a clean room (without lingering odors), and open pools with cleaning and clear social distancing at both pools. read more

Taxi's took us to Main St for nights out, we were a short drive from the beach, and we even had a few beers at the bar inside of the hotel! We can't wait to come back next year! read more

Living here for a month has been nothing but a pleasure. As far as Holiday Inn's go, this is one of the nicest I've stayed in to date. Newly renovated with a decent beds, fridges, and great shower heads. The tv's could stand to be updated. The front desk workers were always friendly, but I can't say the same for the waitress in the restaurant. It being the off season, it was always just me and the 8 or so other guys there for training and she could be a little bit surly at 7 am, but warmed up after the 2nd week we were there. The Madhatter bar in the lobby has a cool atmosphere and east-coast hotel priced beers, but is a good spot to hang out in. Can't comment on the price because it was direct billed to the company, but I would assume in the off-season it was reasonable. I'll probably back... read more

I stayed at this Holiday Inn because I was attending a conference at the Cape Codder, just up the road, and I wanted the points. I first checked into a king sized room, which was supposed to have a fold out couch (according to my corporate travel site description, so not sure whether it was HI or AMEX at fault there...), but only had a chair that didn't recline. Since that wasn't going to work for us, I changed to a double bed room, which had no desk - only a side table. The rooms are small, the numbering is a little odd because the place is large and spread out. The decor felt a little dated. The room was clean, particularly the bathroom. The toiletries were average. There was a small coffee maker in the bathroom. I didn't really use any of the amenities other than the wifi and silverware from the bar. J used the hot tub and pool, which had plenty of kids in both, until the staff shooed the kids out of the hot tub. The staff was friendly, even when the cheap room keys being used specifically for my conference kept getting deactivated (and no, they were no where near my phone or anything magnetic), but even though I added my Priority Club number a few days into my visit, it didn't take. They printed a bill for under my door which showed up around 5:15am, which was the time I was at the desk to get one printed since we had to get on the road. read more

This was my second stay at this hotel and it's a great last minute pick for coming down to the Cape. The hotel is clean, has both an indoor/outdoor pool, and very comfy beds. The rooms could be a little more spacious, but it wasn't bad for one night. The bathroom is a nice size and modern. The only reason I took a star off is because it's a little far from some nightlife and we got a knock on the door at 9 am (two hours prior to check out) asking when we'd be out. read more

The hotel was in a great location, and the staff was very courteous. We had booked a Jacuzzi Suite for a night for my birthday. My husband and I were a bit frustrated because we came here for my birthday (and to be kid free) and were surrounded by a children's hockey team staying in the hotel. The kids were constantly running around, down the halls and playing very loud in the hallways as opposed to their rooms. The walls were pretty thin because we could hear a lot in our room and that was disappointing. The Jacuzzi in the suite was very nice and it was well maintained. The decor and some of the fixtures were a bit dated, but it was still clean and kept up well. We had access to a outdoor space from our room but it was cold so we didn't use it, and furthermore, the outdoor deck just faced windows from other rooms in the hotel. Not really my idea of enjoying some outdoor time with my spouse. So, while it wasn't the hotel's fault that the kids were loud and obnoxious, the walls were thin enough to hear a lot of outside noise and the deck wasn't really useful as there was no privacy from there. read more

My main complaint and concern was that the room had black mold growing on the ceiling ( I did not notice this until the last night of my stay or I would have left immediately) , the room also seemed to have numerous sections of the ceiling that were separating from the sheetrock. I am highly allergic to black mold developed a very severe upper respiratory infection as a result of my exposure. Also the rooms were tiny, for the price there are much nicer places to stay. After the fact and during the course of my stay the management was unbelievably helpful and worked very diligently to accommodate my issues with my stay. read more

My bf and I stayed at this hotel this past weekend. We got a king suite with jacuzzi. The bed was super comfortable. Jacuzzi was very spacious and clean. There's a cute fireplace heater on the wall too. We loved the lounge downstairs. Had a drink and appetizer there and talked with a very friendly bartender who recommended an awesome restaurant for dinner. The pool was very refreshing and open 8am-10pm. I'm not sure why it opened so late for another reviewer who visited in December but that wasn't the case this past weekend. There's a breakfast buffet in the morning that we did not partake in. There's also room service available. The reason I deducted a star was because of the windows in our room. They face the hallway/elevator around the corner and the curtains do NOT close. Only the thing white curtains under them closed all the way. We went into the hallway and could see right into the room. Watch out for room 407! read more

Great location just a short drive from downtown Hyannis and the beaches. Also, right across the street is a Stop and Shop, Dunkin, liquor store, and other shops. My only complaint would be the hotel's proximity to the police station, so sirens could be heard sometimes. Nonetheless, a very pleasant place. Upon check in, we were pleasantly surprised with a free suite upgrade - a wonderful two-story room with balcony, jacuzzi, and a very comfortable reclining chair! We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I was in the area for a good friend's wedding and my fiance, myself, and a friend all shared the room. The beds were comfortable, and there was enough space for all of us to hang our party outfits with no problem. There was a full sized iron and ironing board in the closet as well. The best part of this entire room though was the bathroom! It was stunning. Newly remodeled and renovated, it was clean, well lit, and had a great amount of space which made sharing the room with too men very easy. I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future. They do charge for breakfast, but from what I saw it was a decent option if you didn't want to drive around looking for a breakfast place. read more

As far as hotels in this area go this is pretty much the perfect balance of cost and amenity. The rooms are beautiful and include access to a stunning pool area with a great hot tub. A warning to the wise, the pool and hot tub are pretty strongly chlorinated, which can lead to issues if you have sensitive skin or are a fanatic about your hair! Aside from the slight over-use of pool chemicals I loved the room which had great temperature control, a nice flat screen TV and a spotless bathroom. The bed and pillows were fluffy comfy and everything I dreamed of (pun intended). I might be a tad bit wary of the ground floor rooms, as mine didn't have any solid blinds, which lead to a great view. This view unfourtunately was two way in nature. The staff here are extraordinarily polite but if you request a late checkout through their promotional preferred VIP card make sure they write it down! Joining the program is free and they offer checkout as late as 2pm for any member, but they forgot to write it down for our stay and I got a call from a confused front desk person the next morning. To their credit they didn't cause issues or even get mad that it was already an hour past my official check out time. I don't want to exclude this issue, as it could be annoying to a fellow traveler, but please keep in mind that all of the staff was exceedingly helpful, including the life guard who was friendly and attentive (not that I really planned to drown, but it was good to see). Also, if you are craving a good breakfast don't bother going to the IHOP, just scuttle over to the restaurant downstairs. The breakfast wasn't included but was well worth the price. I would recommend anything with the crab in it, as they use what tasted like fresh crab. If you are staying in the Cape Cod area definitely keep this place on your radar. I had some pretty serious issues at one of the other competing hotels in the area. Always remember that you will get what you pay for, the rooms here aren't outrageous (considering the economic climate of the area) and the few extra dollars were well spent in my opinion. read more

I came here to stay for a business trip. I was impressed with the clean modern lobby with an immediate view of the hotel's indoor pool (I didn't go in). Going to my room, I saw a beautiful place to have drinks. Downstairs is the fitness center, but I didn't have time to stop in and look. My room was comfortable with two queen beds. There was a roll out desk, a refrigerator and Keurig machine. There was an iron available as well. There is a makeup mirror in the bathroom, but it doesn't move up and down, so if you're not short you're going to have a hard time using it. The room also had a really nice sized television. This hotel is right on 28 and is close to the mall and other shopping. Friendly's is just across the street and it is very close to many other restaurants Mathis is definitely a good place to stay. read more

I know that small, chain hotels struggle to make guest experience something worth repeating and unique from all the other experiences had at other small chain hotels. To make this level of connection with travelers is an achievement to be coveted. This particular holiday inn has become our all-time favorite small hotel experience with kids. Good job, staff of Holiday Inn Hyannis! First, the front desk staff there is so very professional and friendly. Their smiles made things nice! The lobby is very nicely done in an Indonesianesque theme of tropical plants and hardwoods and staid fabric patterns. It was comfortable and welcoming and the pool is showcased nicely right behind the lobby. Of course, the chlorine smell permeates the entire floor but it did not phase me or my brood of four who couldn't WAIT to try out that pool! We are platinum IHG members and received a very nice upgraded room. The little ones were overjoyed to find our room had STAIRS to a second space with a foldout sofa, TV, bathroom and even a roof walk out! It was really spectacular, something I've not seen in that level of hotel, a true suite with two full bathrooms (one up, one down) and plenty of space downstairs for a crib. We were quite comfortable in that room with six of us including four young children. There was a safe and a refrigerator, too. Unfortunately, there was a fire alarm last night at around 8:30pm ... All guests were summoned to the lobby where we were kept well-informed as firemen checked the halls and rooms for trouble. After a few minutes, all was declared well and the manager, Heather, gave a short apology and released is to our rooms. She followed up with a very thoughtful written apology concerning the alarm and its intrusiveness on our evening. No trouble, Heather! Your team handled the situation beautifully and my children had a fine time seeing real firemen! We tried out the pool which has lots of vetting by my four happy swimmers. The pool is large and there are lots of depth choices. There was even a lifeguard. I would very highly recommend this hotel for a family getaway. read more

Our stay here was very nice. I was a bit concerned when we pulled up and the exterior looked a bit outdated and more motel-y than I was hoping for. However, the interior is nothing like the exterior. When we checked in we were informed that our room had been upgraded. Woohoo! We were only there one night, so we didn't truly get to enjoy the upgrade, but if you're staying longer and want extra space I highly recommend the upgrade. It's a two-story room, with the bedroom and small bathroom on the downstairs and a living space, bathroom with jetted tub, and outdoor rooftop patio on the second floor. Very nice. Breakfast is included and wasn't very good. I'll be fair and point out we were likely one of the later couples to go to breakfast, but the food had obviously been sitting for quite some time. The pancakes were rubbery, the bacon was well overdone. If it wasn't for the upgraded room this review would be a 3 because breakfast was just so bad. The staff was very friendly. The lady at the front desk (dark hair and glasses), was VERY helpful with restaurant suggestions. For dinner she suggested British Beer Company. I wasn't a major fan, but I'm super picky. My husband however LOVED it and the place is pretty nice. The food would be good if their menu wasn't so misleading (check their page on here for a more detailed review). When we were checking out the next day, she gave us a great suggestion for the next stop on our road trip as well (Speedwell Tavern in Plymouth) and it was the best suggestion the whole trip! This hotel was one of the most interesting holiday inns I've been too. I guess to be fair I usually stay at a holiday in express. From the moment I walked in the front door I knew it was special. It had a very large pool that you could see as soon as you walked into the nice large 2 story lobby area. Service at the desk friendly and nice. Staff explained the amenities well and explained how to find our rooms. The room was spacious and clean. High vaulted ceilings with crown molding, a very large TV and marble bathroom tiles. The tub was very deep and the bathroom was big. The bed was very comfortable as well. My alarm in the room was set for midnight and went off on it's own however, a little disturbing. I made use of the hotels fitness center which is something a don't normally do, but have been on a bit of an cardio kick recently. It was not large but had multiple machines of each type and had a universal weight machine. There were free small bottles of water, a scale, a TV with remote, cotton towels and paper towels with disinfectant spray and a sign encouraging people to clean off the equipment after use. I hit the gym at night and in the morning during my visit. I did not use the pool but it was large and had a Jacuzzi as well. There were lots of families having a great time in the area. I got this hotel for $80 on a blind express deal on Priceline and it was worth every penny. I would stay here at regular price anytime if I am in the area.
