I added extra stars because the bed was super comfortable, the rooms were clean, and the staff members were nice to my dog and family. Kindness during a pandemic goes even further. Pros- The staff at this place is top notch. Free breakfast (whatever juice, coffee, pastry, or dish you can think of in buffet style.) Free parking Safe part of town Accepts pets for $25 a day. The Hilton has rewards points where you can use a small portion of the points for a discount on the bill, great idea! Near Walmart if you are looking for snacks within walking distance, The rooms have a standard coffee pot, fridge and microwave, so you can store and microwave as needed. Free K cup coffee in the room, which taste better than regular hotel coffee. The Christmas decorations are so beautiful! Cons- The photos of the hotel are outdated. They've made improvements but still have a way to go. Note: they had a couple pipes leaking into trash cans. I saw two large trash cans on the 1st floor I'm guessing it's not a longterm problem. They don't have a market pantry to sell alcohol or random snacks. TV's are outdated, so you cannot watch your favorite Hulu, YouTube or Netflix shows. read more

They canceled our group's event of 38 people during the holidays without any notification a week before arrival. Only reason it was found was because the coordinator called to check. There was no attempt to make the situation right. read more

Don't stay here, these pictures are just the tip of the iceberg; toenails in floor, dried crud on almost all surfaces, hair stuck in towel racks, etc. To beat it all, we noticed the dried crud on the chair right away and asked them to clean it as we headed back out. They said they would but when we got back to the room all they had done was flip it over. read more

Staff and management rude and unaccomodating. Had a room reserved for our group through the front desk. The next day when our group showed up the desk clerk was very unhelpful and somewhat rude in helping us resolve the situation. They called the manager who was also very unhelpful and unwilling to stand by what his employee had promised us. We rented 21 rooms in total and in the end management and employees were not only unhelpful, but rude as well. The place was under renovations as well so the fact that they were so unhelpful and rude after paying for 21 rooms in a construction zone is baffling Definitely would not recommend based on our experience. read more

Not bad for a Holiday Inn Express. While not as fancy as some of the newer locations, this location fulfills all the needs for a traveler. There is plenty of parking, overall noise levels are fairly quiet, rooms are adequately stocked, the furniture options are sufficient, and the hotel is fairly clean. The free breakfast has all the options you'd expect like juices, pancakes, sausages, yogurt, and cereal. While this isn't the best you'll find at a holiday inn express, it's better free breakfast than you'll find at many other hotels. read more

Only stayed one night but the hotel is clean and the check in process was everything you would expect at a hotel. They let me know where to park , WiFi password and checkout and breakfast times. Speaking of breakfast I would recommend the biscuits and gravy and fruit for breakfast and dinner/lunch I would recommend the brewery over by Menards which the front desk recommended for me. DO NOT STAY HERE We stayed at this hotel in March and August of this year and both times we were awaken in the middle of the night because of the fire alarm but there was no emergency. I would never be upset about this inconvenience if there was an actual emergency but the employees told us it is due to a fault in the line that triggers the alarm. The most recent time on 8/24, one of the front desk employees turned off the fire alarm and told my husband there was no emergency and that he could go back to his room and then the alarm went off again when the fire department came because the fire department has to be the ones to turn off the alarm and check the premise for fire/ danger. The front desk employee let us know of 2 additional times that the fire alarm has falsely triggered since April. So that is at least 4 times in 4 months. When I called to speak to the front desk manager to get a refund, he lied to me about the reasons it was happening and then hung up on me for being upset about the situation. I am 6 months pregnant and was staying there with my 2 year old, 2 dogs and husband. The adrenaline that happens from these fire alarms waking you up does not just turn off and we go right back to sleep. None of us got good sleep the last 2 times we stayed here. This hotel is not keeping up on maintenance. We have stayed there 4 times in the last year bc we get a discounted rate through State Farm but we will never stay here again. The hot†tub has never worked, the pool was only available once. There was a leak in the ceiling above the elevator on the first floor that they are just blowing a fan at. The hotel bathrooms are disgusting. read more

It's an older hotel, but if you're looking for a place to spend the night, it's not a bad choice. The beds are always comfortable, clean linen & a great night's sleep! Older hotel with two majestic staircases coming down into the entryway with an old historic feel. It would be great for wedding pictures! Friendly staff, easy check-in and had a great breakfast. The lighting in the room seemed dark and not well lit. The bathroom was lacking serious lighting... only two on the wall with the mirror; one bulb was bright white & the other bulb was yellowish. They need to install a light above the sink & over the shower to freshen it up. The desk area is rather small with poor lighting. I noticed several areas on the parking lot & sidewalk that were potential trip hazards. If you drive an electric car, there is a charging station. Outside landscaping was nice & clean. Overall, it's a 3 star rating in my book. read more

This hotel is close to my client so I tend to stay here and you can walk to Panera for a quick meal as well. Rooms are clean and comfy. Wifi works well for work purposes. Front desk and housekeeping always say hi, which is nice to come across. It has to be one of the only hotels I've stayed at that still has manual doors. This makes no sense for a hotel considering one's hands are generally full of luggage and such. I'm surprised they haven't upgraded these. read more

I do understand though that if you're a shorter housekeeper and don't have that light on that the cob web might not be visible. Although the shower had hot water !!! I travel a lot for my business. We stayed at this hotel in October 2022. We found this hotel to be in dire need of a renovation. The fitness center is like a short, narrow corridor with older equipment. Two of the treadmills were not fit to use, leaving only one. Several tiles in my bathroom were loose and rocked from side to side when walking on them. The tub/shower fixtures were old and it was difficult to get the shower to work. There were also several large stains in the couch. This explains why is rents for much less than its competitors in the area. We will not stay at this hotel again. read more

This property has seen better days and needs a refresh, badly! The hotel fountain in front needs bleach, it has moldy chunks floating in it. Got to the front desk and the gentlemen was WAY too talkative after a long day of traveling and working! I just wanted my room. He was kind however and gave me a king....instead of two queens, so that was a win. Upon entering my room, the heat bellowing from it was horrendous. I flipped the switch to turn on the lights. They flickered like they hadn't been turned on in years! I quickly ran to the AC unit to get that going so I could 'cool' off. It is working very, VERY hard and not really cooling off much. Aside from the smell of mold in here...I guess it is okay. I have asked to move to the other hotel in town though. It is newer and has good days to be seen ahead...this tired place needs love....such a bummer. Oh....while I sat at the desk I plugged in my cord into the outlet which proceeded to fall out...old outlet and it too needs an update....I then sat down in the chair at the desk and guess what? My friend and I stayed here last week for a conference. The front desk guy was awesome and helpful. He was super nice about me needing a bunch of extra pillows to be comfy. He was also helpful with other details about the area and hotel. We really liked our room, it was clean, comfortable and quiet. We were even next to the elevators. Our bed was so comfortable. I've stayed here for many weeks while working for Big Red, but have stopped for one major reason, the internet is simply not up to the standards needed for a business traveler. Instead of a single access point, the hotels has multiple access points that disconnect and have slow download/upload speeds. The hotel owners need to invest in a better internet system and more business travelers will come back here. I work for a large consulting company and none of us stay here because of the internet issues. Otherwise, if internet speeds/connection aren't important to you, you'll find this Holiday Inn Express just like every other HIE you've ever stayed in. Decent beds, good TVs, and free breakfast. read more

This hotel is great! The rooms were spacious, they were clean, they have 32" flat screen tvs (I didn't realize I had to be concerned about CRT tvs until BloNo). As Holiday Inns go, they have their classic labled pillow types (soft, hard) and a nice showerhead) The location is great as well. Across the street is a Meijer's, Walmart, Sonic and Panera. Behind the hotel is a Best Buy. Close to the airport and all the food and shopping of Veterans Parkway. The hotel itself is generally quite nice! It has a large grand staircase in the atrium. The pool also is in a separate pool house and is very nice. They also have a NFL Blitz arcade machine for people to reminesce. The hotel does get dinged for a couple things. The fitness room is sufficient but extremely tiny. One of the treadmills was broken, but it was repaired by the next day. The breakfast also is a bit basic. The eggs were of pretty iffy quality, but they have a very interesting pancake machine that spits out decent pancakes. Also note my standards have been lowered dramatically due to Baymont and Days Inn in BloNo (which admittedly were cheaper). I am sure if one of the Marriott properties ever had openings (too many weekly commuters like me!) they would probably be nicer (although way more expensive). At any rate, this is my new go-to hotel in BloNo and I will be staying here for the subsequent weeks. read more

This Holiday Inn Express seems to be one of the more posh Express' I have been to. It features a grand dual staircase as you enter the hotel lobby, classical music playing and a piano in the lobby, as well as a very attractive chandelier hanging as you first walk in. But my room is not in the lobby. In fact my room wasn't even on the first 2 floors, but on the 3rd floor. Why you ask does it matter if it's on the 3rd vs the 2nd floor, the hotel surely has an elevator right???? Of course it does! but the hotel is doing some remodeling and every floor is done except the 3rd floor. And when I say remodeling I don't mean some walls needed painting or a stain on the carpet....I mean they had carpet rolled up in the hallways, bare concrete was what you had to walk on. The doors had number printed on a piece of paper and literally taped onto the doors. And this was a Saturday night/Sunday morning!!!!! I would a guessed during the week wouldve been a more poinient time to do this, but what do I know?!! I'm just the guest paying for the room. And maybe it was my fault. I was in a wedding and I just checked in at 1:30pm before the wedding and didn't even look at the room because I was in a hurry and wanted to be checked in for after the reception. Stupid me I guess. After we finally got to look at our room at 1am it was too late for a new room. I talked to the front desk the next morning after I literally weaved between the carpet installers in the hall, and she said I would have to call back later in the week to tell the manager my displeasure. I guess the best way to show my displeasure is to patronize another hotel next time. It may look great by the time you read this review.....but I was unimpressed. read more

The beds were very comfortable and the employees were very polite. That is about the ONLY good things I can say about my stay there. The hotel states that it has free wi-fi but it doesn't work very well. My husband had work that needed to get done while we were there and he couldn't do it because he could not connect to the wi-fi. Not even their tech support could figure out what was wrong. We ended up going to another hotel and their wi-fi worked just fine. The rooms are incredibly small and the hotel is not very handicapped friendly. The front doors have no automatic open feature for the handicapped and the elevator is so small it would be difficult for someone in a wheelchair to maneuver around in. It seems to me that Holiday Inn bought the building from a lesser hotel, slapped some paint on it and called it a Holiday Inn Express. It would behoove them to do some updating to the building. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone and I know my husband will be telling his employer that he does not want to stay there for business in the future. read more

This is a very typical Holiday Inn Express. It's a great family hotel with clean, comfortable bedding. The bathrooms were clean, the carpet was clean, and the lobby was clean. If we had any regret, it would only be that there weren't more easily accessible outlets. But we definitely would compliment the staff. The desk clerk at check-in and the breakfast attendant were very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in helping in any way they could. The front desk staff was condescending & the entire hotel smelled like chlorine. We had a large group of people staying there and ordered pizza. They would not let us sit in the breakfast area to eat and the only other place in the hotel with tables was the pool. One of the guests in our party asked to change rooms because it smelled like something died in their original room. The hotel looks cool, lobby is nice, but the rooms available for pet people are awful. We have a hypoallergenic dog and requested a king suite, however, once we got to the hotel we had to pay $25 to stay in a double queen room that smelled of regrets, smoke, and wet dog. We brought a kennel for her to stay in but sadly and sadly we felt like we were the ones staying in a dog kennel. Just so gross. When we told the front desk they gave us a commercial bottle of Febreeze. My allergies are so messed up. I'm sure some crazy person had 30 cats in our room. read more

Do not call and make reservations at this location. They made an incorrect date entry for the reservation and then charged my card for a "no show". When I arrived on the day I actually wanted to stay I was told by the man at check in that it was actually him I made my reservation with and that he had in-fact made an error. He told me to talk with his manager on Monday for a refund. Speaking with the manager, Bart, was the single worst customer service experience I have ever had, and I travel for a living. He hung up on me on multiple occasions, told me he was done "dealing with me" after I called corporate, and spoke to me as if I was a small child. I will never stay here again. read more

Worst experience in a hotel ever, management and Holiday Inn Customer Service did nothing. Non smoking room reeked of smoke; and was nasty. Asked for 1 hour late check out for a few rooms even though our group had booked 20 rooms they would not accommodate. Had 6 adults in lobby that pulled the chairs together to talk and had beer with them, were not loud or nasty and everything was fine for 2 hours but then all of a sudden it was wrong. Next day there was a paper sign up saying DONT MOVE THE FURNITURE AND NO ALCOHOL; and yes they put all the chairs back the two feet where they came from. Never.Never again. read more

Great stay- very polite service, suite's bed was super comfy and appreciated the variety of pillow types- firm and soft. I was nervous at first when we arrived as the hotel was booked for sporting events with teenagers piling in. The rooms are great as we didn't hear a sound coming from other rooms or hallway. Great Hotel and fantastic remodel. The hotel is very modern and the rooms are wonderful. Very spacious and terrific tvs in the room. We stayed in a suite and it was truly great room with every convenience you could ask for in a suite. It was great to have extra pillows and blankets right in the room. Drew checked us in and did a great job. He had awesome cookies out in the evening. Nice treat before bed! The breakfast was great much better than the average hotel that includes breakfast. The pancake machine is something everyone should see and the pancakes were awesome. Each day they had a different selection of foods out so it wasn't the same old thing each day. Overall the service and the value are unbeatable and the accomodations are one of a kind. Will definitely stay again! read more

My family stayed here as a meeting place for a friends and family meet-up weekend with two other families. This is our third time meeting at this same hotel because we have had such a great experience each time. It is a perfect location and a wonderful stay! The kids all had a wonderful time swimming in the pool and hot tub, we were able to grab lunch at Panera (located in the same parking lot!) and when we realized we needed batteries, Wal-Mart was less than a one minute walk away! The location cannot be beat and the guest services were fantastic! The hotel employees were so hospitable and the breakfast our family had every morning was so great! Our 4 year-old son loved to press the button to have fresh pancakes made to order! The rooms were so clean and beds were very comfortable! I accidentally left our sound machine at home and the front desk brought a box fan to our room!!! We will definitely be coming back again and staying at this hotel!!! This Holiday Inn Express is my favorite. I attend an event every year and this is where I choose to stay because of the excellent service. Staff is super friendly and it's always clean. The pool area is colorful and inviting, the kids get so excited to swim and swim and swimmmmmm. Great hotel for our family. The Walmart across the way is super convenient. So is the walk to Panara and a host of other stores when I need to kill some time. Walking distance to LA fitness and a TJ Max store plus a Miers as well. It also has a nice workout room. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The best part of the hotel is the fact that Panera bread was in the same parking lot! Whatever you do, DON'T stay on the bottom floor there is a serious Ant problem and it is disgusting. The front desk staff is incompetent and incredibly rude! Also, one of my co-workers who stayed in a seperate room under a seperate reservation lost his credit card the weekend we were there so when the payment for his stay was declined what was the hotels solution? Charge MY credit card!!! From a completely seperate reservation. These guys are fraudulent and my bank agrees! The hotel refused to refund me and also would not provide any documentation that I would be responsible for someone else's bill! What a joke! Thank God my bank is refunding me. Not only is this hotel dirty and the front desk staff rude, most importantly they make fraudulent charges and can/ will charge your card for whatever they want at their leisure! By the way, they didn't charge my credit card until over a month after the original stay. Not my fault someone else didn't pay their bill why should I be responsible? Consider yourself warned! There is a holiday inn by the airport that is great! No fraudulent charges, friendly staff, free shuttle that runs almost anywhere and their rates are much better. Totally recommend them over this rude, run down hotel! Also, the wifi connection was dreadfully slow, I used my own personal hot spot most of the stay. read more
