Rash that developed after the second night

Do not stay here. For any reason. Not even if it's free. This place is filthy, they do not clean the rooms, and they lie to their guests about cleaning. This has to be one of the worst places I've ever stayed in my life. I booked this hotel as part of a package deal through Costco Travel. Everything was paid up front before the trip even started. The first issue we had was at check in. They had my reservation, but said I hadn't paid for it yet. I showed them my itinerary and receipt through Costco Travel, proving it was paid up. The woman at the front desk stated she would show this to her manager the next day, and would not charge anything at that time until it was sorted out. She took my card information to have it on file for "incidentals". Fair enough. But I later found out she charged me for the room anyway! That was a lot of fun, getting that reversed. The person checking us in was letting her children run around in the lobby, and run around in the back office. Our first room was filthy, and looked and smelled lived in. There was a poop smear on the toilet seat, there was a black streak on the sheets. There was dirt and grime all along the base of the toilet. There were sticky gray splatters on the inside of the shower curtain. When this was pointed out to the woman at the front desk, we were told "we're so sorry, I'm going to move you to another room that I know for a fact is clean". Um, ok? Shouldn't you be able to say with confidence that each room is clean? Second room was the same level of cleanliness, and also looked/smelled lived in. There was a glob of hair in the shower drain. There were sticky little puddles at the base of the toilet. There was animal hair all over the room. I found human nail clippings on the floor, as well as lots of food crumbs. There were pink stains on the sheets. There were sticky smears on the desk. Again, we complained about the room. We wanted to have it cleaned. They stated that due to COVID they weren't having people enter occupied rooms. But they brought up the vacuum, and had us vacuum the room. We were exhausted after having traveled all day, and stayed that night. The next day, I spoke to the manager on duty, who assured me she would see to it personally that the room would be cleaned, and that they would use this as an opportunity for a learning experience for their employees. We were gone all day, and when we came back, our room smelled like wet dog, and had not been cleaned at all. Our trash hadn't even been emptied out. We again attempted to rough it for the night, and planned on speaking to the manager again. When I woke up the next day, I had a rash all over the side of my face I slept on. Throughout the day, it spread to the other side of my face. My entire face looked like it had a massive sunburn, and was swollen and painful. Fortunately, my sister who I was visiting works in the medical field, and we were able to treat this without having to go to the ER. However, it took over a week before my face went back to normal. We ended up checking out that day, three days early, as it was dangerous to our health to continue to stay. We checked out at the front desk with a tall thin younger man. He told us that the housekeepers have an attitude problem, and are notorious for not cleaning rooms. Good info to know! We attempted to resolve this issue with Costco Travel. However, it turns out that Heather, the manager at the hotel, is lying to Costco travel about how events unfolded. She is stating that any issues we had were resolved during our stay, and that we stayed the entire 5 days. This is a blatant lie. TL;DR: If you care about the health, safety, and well-being of yourself and/or your family, if you value honesty, if you want a clean place to stay, if you want to be safe, do not stay at this hotel. This was a miserable experience.

There is a reason why their ratings are so low. HORRIBLE service. It would be worth going elsewhere not to deal with the issues.

Great place to stay. Staff was friendly and room was clean. Stayed here a week for training.

The food was genuinely excellent, and the service was warm and attentive throughout. The bed was also a standout -- more comfortable than what I've experienced at most four-star hotels. I also loved the in-room Nespresso machine, which was a great touch. The only drawbacks are the location and setting. It's not ideal if you want to be close to a more metropolitan, walkable area, and being right on the creek means there can be quite a few bugs, especially in the evening. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a relaxing, stylish getaway with great food and very comfortable rooms.

The beds were comfortable, and the location was convenient for our needs. We also appreciated the spacious room layout. Unfortunately, housekeeping and maintenance were inconsistent. We repeatedly requested removal of a dirty trash can that had clearly seen better days. We even placed it in the hallway, yet it was continually returned to our room without being replaced. We also experienced issues with room cleanliness and felt that basic housekeeping requests were not fully addressed during our stay. Another frustration was the early-morning grounds maintenance. Being awakened around 6:00 a.m. by landscaping equipment directly outside the building wasn't ideal, especially for guests on lower floors. It seemed like the work could have started farther from occupied rooms and moved inward later in the morning. What disappointed us most was the lack of follow-up regarding concerns we raised during our stay. We weren't looking for points, refunds, or compensation--we simply wanted the issues addressed so future guests could enjoy a better experience. Overall, the hotel has potential thanks to its friendly staff and convenient location, but attention to cleanliness, housekeeping communication, and guest comfort would make a significant difference. Would I stay again? Possibly, but only if these operational issues were improved.

There were definitely several positives: the property is located in a beautiful area, there is plenty of free parking, and the hotel itself is clean, modern, and well maintained. My room met my expectations for the rate I paid, and the location was especially convenient since the place I needed to be for work was only about three minutes away. Being roughly half an hour from the Austin airport was also very convenient. The staff experience, however, was mixed, and that is really what brought my rating down. When I arrived on Monday, both the woman at reception and the gentleman who checked me in were fantastic. They were friendly, welcoming, and made a very good first impression, even though I unfortunately did not get their names. On the other hand, the service I experienced afterward was not nearly as good. The gentleman working Tuesday night was not rude or offensive, but he came across as uninterested and not especially polite. He seemed preoccupied with other work, was turned away from the door, and gave me the feeling that I was interrupting him just by approaching the desk. He did not offer help, and the interaction felt dismissive. The experience on Wednesday morning was also disappointing. The young woman working the breakfast area/front service was on the phone while I stood there waiting for several minutes without even being acknowledged. Even a quick "I'll be right with you" would have made a big difference. I understand multitasking can be difficult, but basic acknowledgment is such an important part of hospitality. It felt more like a training issue than anything else. The manager that morning was friendly and pleasant, but I also noticed him walk past a dropped napkin without picking it up. That may seem small, but details matter in hospitality, and they often reflect the overall level of attentiveness. As for the breakfast, I appreciate that it is included in the rate, and that is definitely a plus. I also want to mention that the woman preparing the food was very sweet and kind when I spoke with her, so my comments are not directed at her personally. That said, the breakfast itself was just average and not something to get excited about. The biggest issue for me was the eggs, which were clearly powdered eggs. For me, that is a major drawback because I place a high value on food quality. The rest of the breakfast was standard fare like bagels, sausage, jelly, butter, and similar basics. It was acceptable for a complimentary breakfast, but not memorable. In the end, this hotel has a lot going for it: a good rate, a clean and modern property, free parking, and a convenient location. If I were rating only the room and the property itself, I would probably score it higher. But because service and attention to detail matter so much to me, the inconsistency in staff professionalism brought the overall experience down. I had some excellent interactions and some disappointing ones, so I'm left feeling that this hotel has potential but needs more consistent customer service and better staff training.

Enjoyed the larger accessible room tonight since the availabilities were wide open, which is spacious and offers the small kitchenette and nearly full size fridge - very adequate for longer stays. Two additional stars if the elevators were not right at the exit of the hotel and before the hotel check-in desk. Also a couple of the parking lights were out. Both pose security issues for me and when traveling, that's one of my top priorities. Complimentary breakfast is always a nice feature, this one offers more like an express version than that of their sister hotels. One night stay was just right for us!
