Wow! What a hidden gem. Nestled in natural gardens/water features thru out the grounds, this resort has a variety of room/cabin types. We stay in the spa bungalows, with the room jacuzzi's. I know, you're saying to yourself, "Ew, gross," but far from it. These are pristine clean, any temp you want , all jets working and strong. The rooms are immaculate, cold air conditioning, exercise room/laundry, pool and spa, free cookies, $5 breakfast ( we didn't have). The staff is welcoming. Reasonably priced, five minutes from Ashland. Pass on all the other hotels! We are making this our place. read more

We were on a long driving trip and decided to splurge. The not-so-good: For corporate management: Please don't nickel-and-dime your guests. On top of our $370 room rate, we were charged an additional $20 resort fee upon arrival. Yes, it is disclosed on the website, but we didn't notice it. Approximately only 6% of hotels charge resort fees and they are widely considered a deceptive price rip-off. We were also charged $5 per person for breakfast. Again, given the price of the room, it would be a much better customer experience to simply include breakfast in the room rate rather than adding another charge. We may have decided not to stay at $400 a night, but it would be honest pricing on behalf of the hotel. For the on-site management: There is also room for improvement in hospitality. The resort fee states, among other things, that "There is a $20 daily use fee which covers Afternoon Tea & Cookies." We checked in around 4:30 and went to enjoy the afternoon tea and cookies, which are advertised as being available from 3-5 p.m. There was no hot water at the tea station and only two cookies remaining. I asked the staff member there how there could be so little left at 4:30, especially since check-in begins at 4. I was told they could get more hot water, but that the amenity was primarily for guests staying more than one night. They did bring out more hot water, but no additional cookies or baked goods. Really? There was no backup supply? This was the only resort-fee amenity we tried to use, and unfortunately, we weren't able to enjoy it as advertised. Our second disappointment was the in-room tub, which ran out of hot water before it was even half full. A relaxing bath was one of the main reasons we chose to stay here, so that was particularly disappointing. The good: The grounds are lovely, the room was clean, and the property was very quiet. After experiencing two instances of things running out, I read some of the other online reviews and noticed that several guests mentioned breakfast running out as well. We therefore arrived right when breakfast started, and fortunately, it was good and there was plenty available throughout our breakfast. Overall, this could be a lovely splurge, but at around $400 for one night, I expected a little more attention to the details and a better overall hospitality experience. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, and I always try to give a business the opportunity to make things right before posting publicly. Unfortunately, Lithia Resort chose not to respond at all. During our two-night stay, the entire hotel lost water at approximately 10:00 PM, and it wasn't restored until around 6:30 the following morning. This wasn't a minor inconvenience. My daughter was in the middle of a shower with soap all over her body and had no way to rinse off except with bottled water. We couldn't flush the toilet in our room for the entire night and had no choice but to continue using it. It made for an incredibly unpleasant and unsanitary experience. Things happen. I understand that. Hotels can't always prevent emergencies. What matters is how they respond. When we checked out the next morning, the manager acknowledged the situation and told us they would be applying a discount to our stay. That never happened. After returning home, I sent a courteous email to the hotel explaining what happened and simply requested that they refund the one night that was affected. I wasn't asking for both nights. I thought that was a fair and reasonable request given that one of the most basic services a hotel provides, running water, was unavailable for nearly nine hours. They never responded. No refund. No discount. No apology. Not even the courtesy of a reply. The complete lack of communication is honestly more disappointing than the water outage itself. Problems happen. Ignoring your guests after promising to make things right is a choice. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend staying in a different hotel when visiting Ashland. read more

Very reasonably priced ($129) during our Thanksgiving week stay. The resort is located on the outskirts of Ashland, and the surrounds are not as quaint and charming as the center of town...but they make up for this with lots of beautiful landscaping throughout the grounds. The room was clean and nicely decorated with a large soaking tub and fireplace adding to the romantic ambience. The staff gave us a bottle of bubbly since we were celebrating my birthday, such a nice touch. I had a nice massage at the on premises spa and my therapist Steve was great. All in all a lovely experience, but a little removed from downtown so keep that in mind if you're looking for a walkable location. read more

The breakfast, as others mentioned is now $5 and the young lady running it is not as charming or as good of a cook as the woman who ran the kitchen for over 20 years. The springs ran out of water while I was there! No springs at a springs resort! And the room I was in had spiders under the bed and trash under the bed. I notified management and they texted they would take care of it. NOT! Housekeeping never cleaned our place or knocked on our door or anything! Check in process was less than satisfactory... front desk woman couldn't confirm which tub I got when I specifically chose a room with a white tub (she rudely asked why it mattered but if you've gone as many times as I have you'd know how much larger the white jacuzzi tubs are than the black) and then she didn't inform us that the tea room had been switched so she let us walk into the old room and walk out which was dissapointing considering it was one of our first times there and they came in with high expectations. The room had ants all over. If they would have been confined to one area that would be one thing but they were in every room and crawling all over us and our stuff. For a $378 room plus $20 taxes and fees it did not feel like that kind of luxury. I took it upon myself to clean out all the debris from the pool that other guests thanked me for doing. Breakfast is no longer free and is $5 which is fine. What bothers me is that I have reached out repeatedly to talk to management but after a month of trying I'm here to leave a review. read more

Probably the most friendly team of hoteliers I've met. Beautiful grounds, clean and inviting rooms, charming wine bar and nice breakfast. Beds are very comfy and parking is ample. It's obvious why this is a wedding destination place. Attention to detail is top-notch. Note: the only reason for 4 of 5 stars is because the water smells strongly of sulphur. TLDR; Save your money. This place is no longer the gem it used to be. We came here for a romantic, restful Valentine's Day/Birthday retreat and have no hot water in our room. We notified the property of this when we discovered it on Friday 2/13. They told us to run the hot water on full blast for an hour and see if it comes through. After an hour and 10 minutes, we had no hot water. We were assured that it would taken care of at 6:00am when maintenance came in. When we woke at 8:30, we still had no hot water. When we inquired at the desk, they had nothing to tell us and asked us to check back in after breakfast. I checked back in after breakfast (after waiting for 10 minutes for a front desk person to appear) and they said they couldn't reach their property manager. I asked what we are supposed to do for showers and the front desk person told us we could try going to the YMCA. This property is full of water. There is a spa. There is a sister property in town. And their response was to try to get a shower at the Y. I reached out to Neumann properties (they own Lithia Springs), and there was no answer. They only have limited hours on Tuesday and Thursday. So I left a message telling them what was happening. I called their other property in town and asked if they had any room vacancies. They did. This was not offered to us, and I had to ask the other property to transfer our reservation. They did not. People come here for the literal water and they can't guarantee that you'll be able to use it. But they sure are happy to take all of your money and not offer any solutions when they fail to hold up a minimum standard of hospitality in the developed world--hot, running water. This has been an enormous let down and waste of our time, money, and resources. We chose Lithia bc of the amazing service in the past. It's been reliable. We have three kids and two dogs. Getting childcare for the weekend and kenneling dogs costs a small fortune and requires a lot of planning and coordination. I will not give another penny to this place, and will contest every single charge with my credit card company. We should have stayed home. read more

I really wasn't expecting such a comfortable cozy clean suite and grounds especially as there is construction right before you enter the resort. I gave Lithia a five star even though things are a bit weathered here. Again, a great great value for this day and age! But low and behold, as mother would say, a gem was revealed. I booked this place through Hopper (on line booking agent) with a full expectation that things would be a little low brow. Not so! I was greeted by a friendly efficient staff-there was a line to register but not a bad wait. They offered an afternoon tea with strawberries and scones-cookies too! I am watching the ol' waistline so passed the sweets by but a nice touch. My room is very large-a suite for $100. One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. I would give it a ten. I was traveling alone and it was quite a luxury to spread out. They have a kitchenette with cream for my coffee and two bottled waters. I didn't mind the tap water however. This is a great place if you are spending a weeks vacation. It's a little away from the bustle of downtown with ample parking and grounds to enjoy. It's winter so I did use the gym but no pool time-this time. Breakfast was available at 8am. There were cheesy scrambled eggs, whole wheat toast, yogurt, scones, fruit, sausages, potatoes hard boiled eggs and some kind of very yummy oatmeal which I didn't get as there was a long not sugar and apples-again watching my calories. But it looked delicious. Coffee and juice is offered beginning at 7am. The grounds are quiet, a faint smell of wilder upon arrival but no offensive. All in all I highly recommend. read more

My husband and I have stayed here at the minimum 5 times and usually for more than 1 night. If you asked me how I liked this place before Oct 2023 I would have said I loved it for the sulfur springs water, lovely bath tubs, amazing breakfast service, pet friendly rooms but our last stay was totally ruined by bed bugs. I really didn't want this to be the case for Lithia Hot Springs as we really adore it. We didn't stay at any other hotels, we stayed at Lithia and at my mother-in-law's house, we couldn't have gotten bedbugs anywhere else besides Lithia Hot Springs. I wouldn't be writing this review today to tell you about it, if only the management bothered to care. They didn't care, they didn't call me back until I called several times. I didn't expect them to acknowledge that there were bedbugs, but I did expect them to go to the room and call me back and thank me for pointing out there maybe a problem so they could rectify it so no one else had to suffer through this nightmare, it's disappointing to say the least. I got three or four bites, but my husband was absolutely covered in them and he was absolutely miserable for almost 6 weeks. See photos for more, but this is six weeks minimum, he has scars from the bites to this day. We spent $100 at least for otc creams and lotions to help him with the pain and itching, insurance covered the doctor's appointment and prescription steroids and antibiotics. Again with management, I got crickets and so here we are. I guess on the upside we didn't bring any bedbugs home to our house. We should have immediately gone to our credit card company and sent them pictures of the bedbug bites and demanded a chargeback. I suppose that it may be too late to do that but at the very least Lithia could have comped a room for the trouble but again they did nothing. We have been coming to Lithia for several years now. In fact, this is our third visit in under six months. Not once have I ever dealt with staff - both manager and night employee that are as rude or condescending as this trip. Check into the room after a multi hour drive, only to find a pile of hair on the back of the toilet and several hairs on the bedding. Call to the front desk, one person brings over replacement sheets and not enough pillow cases. Note - cleaning staff are not present in the evening. Sheets are the wrong size and pillow cases are insufficient for the pillows on the bed (wrong number, not all right size). Take wrong sized things back to office, get some help. Again wrong sized sheet. Repeat two more times. One of the front staff was helpful, one rolled their eyes and acted like it was a chore to help. When I asked if there was a way to contact the manager, she curtly said "no". Talk with the manager in the morning. I did not know the staff names, I pointed out there were two women and described them by race and hair color. The manager abruptly said "you do not need to bring race into it" and stared at me like "what now". We didn't want anything in return, just acknowledgement and some comment on how they will correct this. This incident will likely impact our return. read more

I stay regularly at Lithia Resort both solo and with my mom. I do business in Oregon and relocated to Northern California to care for my mom when she got sick. On this most recent stay at Lithia a huge storm blowing hurricane force winds followed me and my dog on the trip. We decided to stay longer to wait out the storm and to also enjoy Ashland, a favorite special place for me and my mom. She died unexpectedly last week. In the middle of the night (1:30am) my dog needed to go outside for a pee. I brought my keycard and took her outside in the cold wind and rain. My key did not work to let us back in the room. We walked to the office only to find it completely empty, no night auditor. What?!? Called the emergency phone and found out the resort has no protocol when something like this happens. Completely unacceptable. My dog and I were locked out of the room for a total of 1.5 hours huddled in the rain and wind before the manager came to give us a new key. She was completely rude, unprofessional and zero empathy for the situation. I asked for my stay to be comped and she said no. They might have done one night? But I do not think so. I will NEVER EVER stay here again. You do not leave paying guests out in the rain and wind in the middle of the night!!! Especially returning guests. Unprofessional to the core and now I get why they have new front desk workers every time I've ever stayed there. Horrid management. Shame on this establishment. Double think your stay here and why not patron a place that actually cares about their guests? read more

Spent an early birthday weekend here. It was very relaxing and peaceful. The people at the front desk were friendly, but I can't speak too much to their service as we didn't utilize it too much. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The only thing I might say is that if you are sensitive to noise you might consider the top floor. The walls seem pretty thin and we could hear the people above us walking around and kids playing. That being said, I don't mind noises like that so it didn't really bother me. The breakfast had a small but nice spread. I will also say that the employees working in the kitchen area were very friendly after breakfast, we got coffee to go and walked around the ground with absolutely gorgeous. We've stayed at LS at least twice yearly for at least the last 5 years. On our most recent visit, I needed to remain in the room beyond the 11am checkout time, to handle a business call. It would not have been possible to move the call to the "Business Center", a small dark room with two PCs crowded inside. LS is not work-friendly. Front desk said that they could extend the checkout until 1130am, but that any additional time would require a $20 late checkout charge. Which was assessed, as my call didn't end until 1220pm. Seems a chintzy way to treat repeat customers, and because of this, we won't be repeat customers. So, if you stay there, set your alarm. And you might want to bring your own bananas for breakfast, as theirs were sad and bruised. read more

Everyone had their own small gripes about the place, but the lack of surfaces drove me to write this review. Yes, lack of surfaces. I just stayed for a two night stay. If you are sensitive to smells be FORWARNDED! I could NOT brush my teeth with the water from the sinks. I literally almost threw up. I had to buy bottled water to brush my teeth. The sulfur smell is so overwhelming it's terrible. I did soak in the bath that we deemed "fart water" because of the smell. I didn't shower the entire weekend because I didn't want that smell in my hair. I only used face wipes to wash my face as well. The grounds are gorgeous. The amenities are nice. Our room needed some deep cleaning as there was spider webs on the crown molding, dust on the window sills, shelves and fireplace mantel that one swipe of your finger it was VERY noticeable it hadn't been done in a long while. The ghetto trailer park next to the resort is odd and the freeway is visible from our outdoor sitting area making it not a very relaxing outdoor area. However, in our room you couldn't hear the freeway. There was no extra sheets for the hideaway bed. They gave is champagne when we requested wine. They did replace is for the correct one promptly. Overly, it was ok but not for the price we paid. I just couldn't get past the smell!! So, if you are sensitive to smells this is not the place for you. I couldn't get a good picture of the spiderwebs on the crown molding but they were big and all over in the living room. read more

We love this place!! This was the perfect place for us to take a quick, relaxing, retreat, on our trip down from Portland. We occasionally take a road trip just to discover new places so this was our destination of the week. We were very happy with our find! Hot springs tubs in the rooms, comfy bed, comfy pillows, clean room and very friendly staff! That's a 5 star rating! Breakfast was served in the morning between 8-10am. It's a basic breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast, fruit and yogurt with choice of juice and/or coffee. Everything we tried was very good and nicely prepared. The kitchen staff was very friendly and it was a nice, relaxing, and filling breakfast. The grounds are beautiful, even in the winter. It is located near the main road, and there is a car dealership near by, like some of the other reviews point out, but we didn't notice any noise from either. We'll definitely be back here when we need another relaxing get away. read more

I spent a Sunday night here after driving 8 hours ...and it felt like I had booked the honeymoon suite. The main building has a wine tasting bar, they serve cookies and tea in the afternoon, and a complementary breakfast buffet. The rooms have uplighting, fireplace and 2 person bathtubs. Bathroom is beautiful with nice tile and amenities. We rarely ever take baths in California due to the drought so it felt luxurious to soak in a huge tub of mineral water which smells of sulfur (that's part of whole experience when staying here.) By the time we left it felt like a second honeymoon. I would love to come back in the spring and spend a weekend exploring the area while spending more time at the resort. The breakfast buffet is great: excellent coffee, healthy oatmeal with topping and the usual eggs and bacon as well. The staff are courteous and helpful. read more

I was excited about staying at LSR this past September, and soaking in the healing mineral water. I booked 3 days there in the online-looking beautiful Starlight Suite. When I got to the room I was a bit dismayed, the rug was stained, the mattress had no bedbug protective cover (read online that the hotel at one point did have bedbugs), the table had water stains under the glass the air conditioner was old and loud, the bathroom fan was loud, the old wooden toilet seat was worn, the lounge chair was stained, but still... the area near the jacuzzi with the skylights looked inviting. Until I noticed the skylights were filthy with debris. I ignored that and ran a tub of water. Before getting in, I decided to let the jacuzzi run. So glad I did. As the jets exploded into the water, so did all kinds of black crud and brown film. I freaked and went to the girl on duty. She was very kind and came and took a look. She then showed me other rooms without the jacuzzi jets. None of those rooms appealed to me. I decided to try to 'fix' mine. Sticking my arm into the disgusting water, I drained the tub and ran another tub. Turned on the jets, a little less debris. I then decided to go to the store and got 4 bottles of peroxide to clean the tub. With each bottle I poured in the filled the tub, more black crud, brown biofilm substance and detritus came out. I repeated this 4 more times, hoping I'd be able to clean it enough to take a relaxing mineral bath. No such luck. Each time it got worse as the peroxide loosened old crud from the jets. It was obvious this tub hadn't been properly cleaned in a while! There was no way I was going to get in that tub full of bacteria.The desk girl was wonderful and so apologetic, promising to leave a note for the manager in the morning. I told her I would be leaving in the morning and not staying the rest of my reservation. The next morning, when I spoke to the manager, she was business nice and did give me a 50% discount on my night's stay, but she didn't really want to hear my complaints or suggestions. I read online that a jacuzzis needs to be cleaned after each use, or at least once a week. This one obviously hadn't been cleaned at all. She tried to excuse it by saying it was the mineral water. Wrong! I explained that being a Biology major, that was not mineral calcification in the tub. it was bacterial crud. I pointed out that mineral calcification was what was going on with the shower in the room. The shower's nozzle's holes were plugged from mineral calcification, so that only about 4 holes worked, spitting water out at me. I read online that the black crap that comes out of jacuzzi jets is mold, mildew, bacteria and a mix of body secretions. (UGH) Basically, this place is NOT maintained or cleaned well. The lobby area is beautiful and stocked with freshly made cookies, but that beauty does not extend to the maintenance of the rooms - at least the room I was in. Keep your cookies and hire people who thoroughly CLEAN! God knows what I would've caught if I had gotten in that jacuzzi and turned on those filty jets! Like I said, the manager was kind enough to discount my one night stay, but didn't really care about doing anything about improving according to my suggestions. Unfortunate, this place could be wonderful if someone cared enough to CLEAN IT thoroughly. Added creep factor - HUGE spiders near the front doorway come out at night. My fiancé, mom and brother were able to get this really cool room where we had a living room and kitchen and two separate rooms with his dogs. We felt that the price was very affordable with a wonderful breakfast. We took advantage of the bath to soak in the mineral water and the hot tub as well. We had such a nice and relaxing visit! This review is specific to the new tasting room part of the resort that just opened in 2019. The wine garden tasting room at the Lithia Springs Resort is a fantastic experience, primarily made great by the sommelier and host, Joseph. Joseph will walk you through several options for flights of 3 local wineries that focus on biodynamic winemaking. At this time, that includes Quady North, Troon, and Cowhorn. While the wines themselves are pretty spectacular, the best part of the experience is the knowledge and hospitality that Joseph provides. If you are a wine nerd, you're getting a whole lot more than just the tasting. You're basically getting a wine class in the price of the tasting, with Joseph's knowledge and experience. The wines available here are sometimes very exclusive tastes that are unavailable elsewhere. You can get tastes, glasses, or bottles, as you see fit. During our tasting we indulged in the Quady North Flagship Syrah, which is limited to 50 cases, and there just might not be a better local wine. It's worth the visit just for the taste (or a glass) of this alone. If you happen to be staying here, definitely check out the tasting room as a launching point for further wine visits. I'm sure the host will give you pointers based on your palate. If you happen to be a local, then don't miss out on a visit to this tasting room either. The resort is a very nice semi rural property with beauifull gardens,with inviting areas to sit and relax. I loved the hot springs water piped into each unit. The water leaves your skin with a nice silky feel. I loved it. I have been to about 25 hot springs in the US, Canada, and Mexico. This is a nice one! The private baths in the rooms are the real highlight of this place. They're enormous with jets, and the water is super hot. The showers, tap, and bath are all sulfuric which i loved, but it'll tarnish your sterling silver jewelry in minutes! I thought that was kinda cool. There are many beautiful things about this resort but, unfortunately, some downsides that made it difficult for us to actually rest. We stopped in for one night on our way from Portland to the Bay Area. The resort is beautiful and the staff was very friendly. Our room was also really beautiful but, unfortunately, the sulfur smell was so overwhelming for us in the room in general it made it difficult to enjoy our time there. We realize it's a mineral springs and were anticipating some odor, but it was so strong it made us gag. Washing your hands, brushing teeth, showering, everything reeks of sulfur. The sulfur smell permeates everything in the room, even the bedding. We also had a spa bungalow with our two boys sleeping on the sofa bed and us in the separate bedroom. The window A/C unit in the living roo did little to cool the bedroom on a very hot summer day, especially with the door closed, and we were roasting most of the night. The following morning about five spiders joined the fun in the shower having crawled up from the shower drain. We really wanted to love this place, but we couldn't wait to leave unfortunately. Wonderful stay. Awesome staff. Bear creek greenway is across the road, so perfect if you wanna run or walk & then get to the dog park. I'd opt for the studio plan. Feels much more open. I like that they restrict the pool hours to 9a open, so it's not loud. Breakfast was avg. scones were delicious!!! Definitely recommend to anyone. Very pet friendly. read more
