This is the only hotel we stay at when we visit Show Low, and it never disappoints. Jennifer, the manager, is incredibly helpful and truly sets the tone for a great experience. Her staff is just as friendly and accommodating, which makes every stay feel welcoming. The hotel itself is always clean, inviting, and well-maintained. On our most recent visit, we stayed in room 510, which was clean and comfortable. As a light sleeper, I really appreciated the option to keep the room fan running--it helped block out noise and made for a much better night's sleep. The bathroom also has a working fan, which does a great job clearing out moisture from the jetted tub, shower, and overall use. The breakfast area is clean, the food is fresh, and the pancake machine is a must for our family! Overall, a consistently excellent experience--we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Show Low. read more

My stay here wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. For such a large hotel the parking is very limited my check-in was pretty smooth there was a little bit a mixup on my reservation but they did take care of that. I left at 4:30 AM so I have no idea what their breakfast is like. It did take almost 20 minutes to check out because there was nobody inside of the front desk at that time of morning. I ended up calling the hotel while standing at the counter and finally a girl walked out from the back The bed was comfortable the shower was hot so I guess it worked for what I needed also the printer was not working so I wasn't able to get a receipt read more

I had an unexpected overnight stay on my way from Albuquerque to Phoenix due to horrid traffic outside ABQ that delayed the trip by several hours making a trip down the Rim dangerous at night and while tired. The Holiday Inn Express is conveniently located. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were comfortable. However, if you have a trailer and only know how to drive forward with it, do NOT come here. My husband and I stayed here two nights. Our room was nice. The bed was extremely comfortable. There was no street noise. I would recommend this hotel to someone staying in Show Low. I liked that each side of the king-sized bed had a large nightstand with a reading light. I liked that the sink area had a small nightlight built into the electric socket. We had brought our own nightlight, but I am happy the hotel provided one. The room had one upholstered arm chair plus an upholstered swivel desk chair with no arms The seating was comfortable. (I would have preferred two upholstered arm chairs, since I ended up sitting on the bed.) I liked the desk lamp. I did not need to fumble for a switch; all I had to do was touch a pad near the base of the lamp. The lamp had settings for low medium, high, and off. I liked that the refrigerator was big enough to lay several bottles of water flat. We put additional bottles in the door rack. The room also had a microwave and a coffee maker that we did not use. I liked that the air conditioning worked and was not overly loud. I liked how the room had three layers of curtains so that you could adjust the amount of light entering the room. I liked that the room had a small closet with sufficient hangers. There was an iron and ironing board. I wish there had been a towel rack by the sink. I put the face towel next to the sink, but it got wet from sink use. The sink and its counter were conveniently located near the entryway. The bathroom contained only the toilet and the bathtub/shower. We found the bathtub drain difficult to operate. You were supposed to push a circular plate to make the stopper pop up and release. A part fell off. My husband managed to adjust it so the tub would drain. The bathroom had a motion-activated fan. Every time I walked into the room, the fan turned on. I suppose that frequent fan use helps dry out the room and prevent mold, but I found the noise annoying. What was really annoying is that the fan stayed on for several minutes after the occupant left the bathroom. I finally figured out that there was a small button that you could push to turn off the fan. Thereafter I turned off the fan every time I left the bathroom. The room had an alarm clock that we did not want to sound in the middle of the night. My husband could not get the alarm to turn to the off position, so he unplugged the clock. One morning at the hotel, we sat in the breakfast room for quite a while reading the newspaper and drinking coffee. We had other breakfast plans so we did not sample the food. I will note that the hotel had more extensive food offerings than many other mid-priced hotels. I saw cheese omelets under a heat lamp, Chobani yogurt cups, raisins, dried cranberries, chopped nuts, half and half creamer capsules, two nondairy creamers dispensers, plus other more common offerings. A staff person came by frequently to clean the breakfast room and check the coffee urns. I liked that the hotel was within walking distance of two sit-down Mexican restaurants that were well-rated on Google. We walked to Los Corrales and had a nice dinner. We did not try the other restaurant Licanos. The hotel is in the center of town and not far from other businesses and restaurants guests might want to visit. read more

I always try to stay at a Holiday Inn whenever I travel and this trip was no exception. A great location in town, with plenty of parking. Check-in was flawless with the attentive staff, the lobby was clean appeared to be a welcoming area to sit around if you wanted too. Our room was very clean, smelled fresh and the A/C was very efficient with keeping the room at a comfortable temperature. The free breakfast was a treat with whatever you need to start the day. I mentioned during our checkout that the deadbolt for our room was difficult to move and should be oiled because if I struggled turning it, then someone's grandma wouldn't be able to turn it at all. The friendly clerk said she'd notify the maintenance man as soon as possible. I mention this because she accepted the problem without it being an issue. Was in Show Low working an event that ran during the weekend so the event organizer set me up with room at the Holiday Inn. Check in was pretty easy, which I was thankful for because I wasn't the one who booked this reservation. I was in room 201, it was a nice room, nice king size bed, had a little fridge and Keurig coffee machine. Flat screen tv that had a print out of the channels provided, which I find handy. The bathroom had a rain shower head, which I am a fan of. After unpacking I noticed I forgot some toothpaste, but just made my way back to the lobby and asked if they had any and not only did I get toothpaste, but a travel toothbrush as well. The room was clean and served its purpose, had a view of the driveway for the Post Office. Staff was friendly and helpful, this was a nice stay in Show Low and wouldn't mind coming back! read more

Had an awful sleepless night in a bnb in the area when we checked into the hotel the next morning. Almost cried when Beau at the front desk welcomed us warmly and had us check in early! She even took care of our IHG rewards points and got them updated in the system! We stayed in a spacious 2-room suite and breathed a sigh of relief as we sank into the comfortable beds with the air conditioning on full blast! The breakfast was excellent the next morning. We requested for a late check out which was given without hesitation. The housekeeping staff left us in peace as we got ready to pack our things for the road. I used to live in Show Low years ago. Part of why we don't come back on a regular basis is due to the fact that the motels/hotels have been pretty dismal in the past. Not so much anymore! I was really impressed with this Holiday Inn Express. I'll definitely be back! I was upgraded to a king room and it was ginormous! If anything it was almost too big. The furniture didn't fill up the space so it felt like a waste of square footage. What didn't make sense? The bathroom, like the rest of the room, was huge. Yet the bathroom sink and countertop was in the hallway outside of the bathroom. Not the best use of space. The bathroom proper had the toilet, shower and a jacuzzi (which I didn't touch because those creep me out). And still it seemed way oversized. I'm not a fan of sinks outside of the bathroom. Just a really odd layout. Aside from that, comfy bed. Flat screen tv with plenty of channels. Oh, and a fireplace! Except they don't turn them on until November so that was a royal bummer. It was snowing (IN OCTOBER!) when I was here so the fireplace would have been nice. SIDENOTE: If you take anything away from this review please pay attention to this bit. Just say no to the "healthy vending machine" called Naturals 2go! It's owned by a third party so it's operation really doesn't have much to do with the hotel. Still, it's a total scam so avoid this machine! We put at least $6 in the darn machine and it didn't give us a single thing. It's all touch screen so they let you email them a complaint but they time you out after about a minute. So you better write quick if you want feedback, otherwise you have to put in more money only to get duped again and write a shorter message with feedback. The manager of the hotel is aware of this stupid machine and was very apologetic. It's not their fault and they're doing what they can. In the meantime, avoid this vending machine! read more

I had to make a hard trip to show low (lost my luggage) and the hotel absolutely took care of me. My room was cleaned everyday and the staff bent over backwards to provide toiletries for me. I travel for work a lot. I will spend 80 days in hotels during the course of a year, sometimes more. When I made the reservation for Holiday Inn express in Showlow, I was a little bit surprised at the exorbitant price but thought... "Maybe it's nice"..... well for north of $200 was an absolute dive. Don't get me wrong if I was staying in this place for $100, I think it's a fair price. But for $200 they're out of their mind. The accommodations look like they're from 1993. The room smelled of mold, The young staff seemed to have a bit of a chip on their shoulder for some reason. I'm not really sure where that was coming from but it was certainly there. I have stayed at the Hampton Inn in Showlow many times and have always been very happy with their accommodations. I don't mind spending $200 in either. It's a nice place, I always know what I get. It's clean the beds are comfortable, it doesn't smell like mold, it's an easy parking lot to get in and out of. I just like it. But that's not the way this one works. Stayed here in the suite and it was just as advertised. Huge room with plenty of space. Great staff in the day but when we got in at night the lady at the front desk never said a word to us. All she did was state as we walked by her. Breakfast they have is outstanding as well as the coffee. Always nice to start the day off with great food and a friendly staff. We stayed here and it was nice, other than the view but the room was clean, lots of towels and toiletries plus we had a mini suite so it had a jacuzzi tub!! The location was near restaurants and the grocery store was right down the road. My kids and hubby were in heaven with the pool and hot tub being in working order. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they had cookies in the evening, Otis Spunkmeyer to be exact. The only drawback for me was the lack of options for special dietary needs at breakfast, everything had gluten, egg or dairy in it so it was either a banana or apple for me I'm hoping one day all chain hotels will be understanding of these types of dietary needs and have more options!! I was quite impressed with this hotel! Nice, spacious 2 Queen Bed room with ample space for myself and two family members. The gentlemen at the front desk was very helpful, and had a friendly attitude despite my near 12am check in. I'm pretty faithful to Holiday Inn Express and will always try to find one wherever we go. They have a splendid breakfast bar, that we always try to make it to. My only sad face would come when the breakfast bar closes at 9:30am and we don't make it down until 10:00 . Two adults + Three boys = Suite We knew we would be staying the night in Show Low and wanted to find not only a heated pool but a good value for our money. We booked a suite with two Queens and a pull out couch. The room was quite large and all of the bedding was great. The pool was very fun on a cold night. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The next morning we enjoyed their complementary breakfast, which was quite good I might add. So, the room was $122 for the night. It slept all of use easily and we were happy. Breakfast was free for 2 adults and three boys, aged 10, 12 and 14. We came out ahead by staying here. read more

I am a fan of the Holiday Inn Express chain, it is great for business travel. This was one of the nicer ones I have stayed in. Was in an "Executive" room which had a whirlpool and a fireplace and was quite big. One of the bigger rooms I have stayed in. It had the standard fridge and microwave (but no tiny bar). Plus the whirlpool and separate shower. The staff was friendly and the hotel was pretty decent. Quiet and nice rooms with the quality you would expect from the Holiday Inn Express chain. So, why the low rating? The internet was the worst I have used in any hotel. It was wireless only, there were no Ethernet ports in the room. While the wireless would connect show a high speed the overall speed of the internet was dead slow and flaky. At many times pages wouldn't load at all, and streaming Netfix was right out, as well as low-res YouTube videos. Add DNS hijacking of their provider, Frontier, it was unacceptable. Even with alternate DNS servers set up, it would still redirect invalid domains to advertisements from their provider. (I may be bitching a lot about it, but this is what I do for a living). As a business traveler having an internet connection that unstable and unusable is just a deal breaker, I ended up wrapping up my week tethering to my cell phone for internet usage. read more

This was a great place to stay with a family! If ever we go back to Show Low we'll definitely be staying here. We stayed in a standard room with a King size bed to share between my husband, my 2 year old, and I. The room is equipped with a refrigerator, coffee maker, and a microwave! The microwave came real handy because we got into town at 8pm and did you know everything is closed in Show Low at that time? Even the deli section of Safeway is closed... so we walked out with 2 TV dinners (something I haven't eaten in 20 years!!) that we plopped into our handy dandy microwave. phew! Our stay includes free breakfast which was really awesome! They made the seating area really nice, like a woody-cafe style. The food was organized and clean. They have a small refrigerator full of individually packaged yogurt, individually packaged milks of sorts (skim, 2%, whole). Warm foods were kept warm and in closed containers. Don't forget the awesome waffle maker! :) They have an indoor pool area with chairs and tables, a heated big pool, and a jacuzzi. My toddler LOVED it. FREE PARKING. FREE BREAKFAST. FREE WIFI. CLEAN. We stayed here one night while road tripping through Arizona. It is by far the worst HIE we have ever stayed in. It feels old and worn. The bathroom wasn't cleaned well as evidenced by hairs in the shower. Five nights on the road and this was the most expensive place we stayed, which included Best Westerns and Courtyards. I've stayed here before and gave a wonderful review because that was my experience at the time. However this visit was horrendous! On my first night around 7pm it sounded like furniture was being moved around above my head. There was a lot of banging and bumping. Hours later it occurred to me these noises were coming from kids! I called the front desk to complain and was told they would take care of it. That didn't happen and the noises got louder. I called back around 10:30 pm and the solution was to uproot me and my handicapped son who is in a wheelchair to another room. What an inconvenience for us as I had to make 3 trips to the room when we were checking in. This room was $135 a night!! I declined moving and told her I would be checking out the next day and will find somewhere else to go for the remainder of my trip. Her reply, "okay" It's not over...the next day at 6:45 am it starts again! I called management furious and was told I may be able to get a discount on the night before and that they were checking out today. Wouldn't it make sense to put families with kids on the first floor? His reply, "We try but when customers don't tell us they have kids when they make the reservation we can't". Really?? Weren't they there at checkout? A change in room at time of check in wasn't possible? I'm tired, frustrated and have a headache. Definitely not worth $135! read more

Had just an all around great experience at this hotel! Came up on Friday night to hit the slopes and arrived at around 11 pm and the staff welcomed us at the front desk and were very friendly. Walked into the room and was very surprised at how spacious the room was. The next morning woke up and walked across their an indoor sky walk/ hallway that connected the two different building for the free complimentary breakfast. This was a great feature because it allowed you to go get breakfast before completely gearing up and going out in to the cold. Huge plus! But what really made this hotel an awesome and great experience was the staff. Couldn't have been any nicer! Finding comfortable and safe accommodations when one has mobility issues can be challenging. For a recent trip to Show Low on legal business, I spent quite a bit of time on the internet and the phone trying to determine who had rooms available that would meet my needs. Most hotels in the area are either not equipped for handicapped clients, or have telephone personnel who don't have answers to the questions I needed to ask. The young lady who answered the phone at Holiday Inn Express, however, took the time to answer my questions, and suggested a room that fit my needs admirably. At the time of my stay, this place was comfortable, clean, and odor-free. The night clerk offered up the curb just outside the door for us to park our motorcycles so they were within sight of the front desk. The room was clean and well appointed, and the furniture was in great condition. A bonus, was the fridge in the room - not found in most hotel rooms these days. Even though my room was right next to the Deuce of Clubs road, I didn't hear any street noise. The bed was comfortable and made for a great sleep after a day's ride in the saddle. As a frequent business traveler, I like the Holiday Inn Express chain of hotels. They are clean, well-maintained etc. This location however, needs some upgrade including its amenities. Most locations I have stayed at have an in-room blow dryer. This one, or at least the one I stayed in, does not. The phone in the room was not working as well as the a/c blowing air at a very minimum. When up in this area again, I will choose to stay at another hotel location. read more

We came to visit this location last week on the 22nd, bad very bad experience, it is not a family atmosphere (people drinking in pool area with glass bottles and disrespectful noise for everybody else but them), our vehicle was vandalized with obscene drawings visible to kids walking on the parking lot, when I mentioned to the management they advice me to call police but they were specific that there were no cameras and they were not responsible for damages. read more

We stayed here on our way to the Phoenix area. Very clean hotel with great customer service! The lady that checked us in spent the extra time to look up our rewards account ( something none of the others have ever offered to do in our many visits to HIE around the country) and found points we didn't know we had! The rooms were clean, the hotel was quiet, and the pool area was great for my 5 year old. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the maintenance could step it up a notch. Our stay started out pleasant enough but upon checking out our 5 star rating jumped to 2. All due to having to deal with an unpleasant woman named Jennifer. I had the very distinct feeling I was bothering her and quite frankly did not appear to even like her job. I asked her a question and the ugly face she made, I decided to not elaborate. I asked to speak with a manager and she said she was. She is definitely not a good representation of your hotel. Our rooms were not cheap. I am a business owner and while my employees are pretty good to me for the most part it is my employees that offer more insight. Of course they're nice to the boss. I suggest you too speak to your employees and get to the bottom of this behavior. She should most certainly not have heavy customer contact with that attitude. We are not used to such rudeness. It is highly unlikely we will return or recommend this hotel until improvements are made to the way you treat your patrons. I waited a bit to post this so as to avoid any further drama.
