For Valentine's Day 2020 my crush, aka my boo sickle, aka Missy, aka the Wifey got me a 90 minute massage with Amanda at Holistic Arts Bodywork. As I was driving towards the business address on Pyramid, I quickly realized HAB was located in the 2nd tallest building within the City Limits of Sparks,NV. You know that really tall building in Sparks, NV that has Sparks Florist inside! As I parked and walked inside I was excited about entering this building I had never been in. If you know me, then you know that I'm not really into people touching me that I don't know. To be honest I only like my wifey touching my exterior....so needless to say I was nervous about this massage. I got up to the 2nd floor and in I went, entering the HAB. Amanda was ready and greeted me. She provided me with a quick questionnaire which included if I wanted light, medium, or heavy pressure for my massage. I thought that was a cool option. Personally the best massage for me is one of relaxing and rest while I zone into no mans land. Not asleep, but not awake land my special Yelp friends. Minutes after my questionnaire was completed I entered the massage room. The room was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The table linens were white. And the bed was heated. My massage began and approximately 90 minutes later I returned to reality and felt AMAZING. I highly recommend Amanda as a masseuse. Amanda seemed to be a veteran massage therapist and very skilled and confident in her trade. One thing I really appreciated was how she aimed to fine tune the massage for the client and not give a cookie cutter 90 minute rub a dub dub see you later dude back rub. I've been visiting the nice folks at HAB for just over a year now. I used to shop around for Groupon deals, which is how I first met Jessika. Thanks to the pricing on 10 massage packages and the discount for teachers and public servants, I decided to make myself at home. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The parking is good. The building they are in is never all that busy. I've had massages from 4 or 5 different therapists. I have enjoyed most all of them. Very disappointing. I bought a Groupon in February and due to COVID just now able to make a reservation (completely understandable). My first needed massage in a long time. I received a text and email for my appointment reminder and showed up on time. Nobody was there. I left 2 messages and still nobody has returned my call. Groupon will only give a credit and not refund my money. I only got $48 in Groupon bucks and paid $65 for the treatment. So also lost $17. Be careful! read more

I received a very therapeutic 90" massage from Jack Townsend for my extremely tight shoulders. I have experienced a hundred different therapists, so I know talented from mediocre. My shoulders were painful and restricted with adhesions. Jack knows therapeutic techniques--his stroke was smooth and deep and he worked with the body to release the adhesions. Jack is continuing his massage education and will only get better. I will schedule Jack when again in Reno. Additionally, Holistic Arts is a well-run company. Jack is amazing. Very caring, compassionate, and highly experienced with 11 years in professional massage. He is skilled at both relaxing as well as deep tissue massage. There was a strong effort to build a rapport with me from the beginning. The massage itself was just what I was looking for in a deep, knot breaking massage. Jessika checked that she was providing relief to the areas she was working on and kept conversation simple and on topic for the massage.
