I'd want to give it fewer stars but I love the doctor he is so nice... his staff are so messy my kid has been going here for a few years for ortho work but every-time I'm here the back assistants are acting like a mess or talking about inappropriate things they use foul language and don't seem to be told anything. Over 6 months ago we discovered this gem! We were referred by a friend to check them out and that was a great decision! Parking is a bit difficult now due to construction but it's still fairly easy. The office is always welcoming and nicely decorated per season plenty of seating and a clean bathroom down the hall. The front desk representatives are always dressed professional, greeting you with a smile and attentive to the patients. I had gone to several other consultations and could have found places that cost less but overall, but the day I came to their office & had a consultation done, I left with braces on! I do not regret a single penny I spent because the quality of care received from this team is the best I have had of any kind of doctor, or anywhere really. Absolutely love the results and my entire experience with Dr.Berrios and the whole team. I would definitely agree that my investment was well worth it. I have a wonderful smile now and have more confidence because of it. The Team: These lovely people literally become second family. They are welcoming & warm and willing to assist you at every corner. Very helpful in working with your schedule & keeping you on track. I probably annoyed them with the amount of questions I asked but if I did, they never showed it. They answered everything and fully. I suggest you be as involved with your process as you hope they are. Stay informed every step of the way. With that said, pay attention with what Dr.Berrios tells his assistants, that needs to be done for that visit. Sometimes he can be distracted, but the girls question him and make sure things are in order. The Experience: Having braces was the absolute worst. The best part about all of it is that I had a team backing me up. I had way more appointments that I should have because the build-up placed on my teeth kept breaking off, or a bracket would pop off, or I had a wire poking my cheek, or something and I was almost always taken in the same day to get anything fixed that I needed to. I was told that I would only need the braces for about 18 months but it ended up being 23 months. It would have been much longer but the team knew of my eagerness to get them off ASAP and they gladly worked with me, giving me appointments earlier than the recommended time after each adjustment (toward the latter half of my treatment). Warning: if you push the adjustments like I did, expect to be in pain/discomfort. I made a down payment and monthly payments and even after I finished paying and my treatment continued, my care was all 100% quality. At the end of it, they gave me a goodie bag of all the things I was not supposed to eat with braces on and a bottle of bubbly to celebrate! It was super sweet. Even my post care is wonderful. I had retainers made and after a week, I wasn't sure if my teeth were shifting and I was seen, had photos compared and had extra retainers made to ensure my comfort with them. They weren't moving but I was paranoid because of how much time & $ I just put into it. They gladly reviewed everything with me. As much as I hated braces, I loved the care I received and the people I met here. read more

I can't speak for the way my daughter is doing with her braces because she just got them this week. What I am upset about is that the receptionist did not connect with us, the patient. We got there exactly at three. We needed to sign in on a monitor and we sat. There was nobody to greet us. When the receptionist got to her desk, 10 minutes after our arrival, she didn't even acknowledge us. I got up to ask when my daughter was going to be seen. She responded nicely, but I think it was discourteous that no one was there to greet the patients. My daughter has already started the process with them (my husband brought her to this place). If I could give these guys 10 stars I totally would! I can't give enough praise to Dr Barrios and his team. I went to 7 (yes seven!) different orthodontists before I chose him. He was the only one out of the seven that was completely honest about me needing (or not) to pull 2 teeth out in order to straighten the rest. Most doctors said I would have to, one said she can do it but it probably won't look as great. Dr Barrios said that we can try our best, it will most likely be fine, but he couldn't guarantee it. To me that sounded the most straightforward and honest out of the seven. All six other orthodontist were using regular braces, Dr Barrios was the only one who uses Damon braces. I felt like it would give me the best results, and I couldn't be happier! My teeth look natural and straight, I didn't have to pull any of them out, it took the exact 2 years Dr Barrios had estimated, and I paid exactly what I was told I would! The team is always happy and welcoming. They decorate the place differently for every holiday. I can honestly say that in the past 2 years it's always been a joy to come in for an adjustment. This is a complete contrast in comparison to another friend I know who dreads each visit since he goes to a different doctor. Dr. Berrios is a hidden gem! I can't recommend him highly enough, and I only wish I'd found him earlier for my older children. The story: We had put off finishing orthodontic work on our youngest child because we were, overall, very unhappy with the previous orthodontists that my older children had had. My daughter, then 15, had a pronounced overbite that one orthodontist had charged us to fix but failed, so we decided we had better hurry and get it looked at again before she was any older. I was hoping to find someone in the Conejo Valley where we live but was willing to drive anywhere for a good one. The problem with bad ones is that you don't know it until years later, after draining your budget. Around the same time, one of my grown sons wanted to have his teeth redone (from the same bad orthodontist) began researching and discovered the work of Dr. Mike Mew in central California. He was impressed at the logic and genius of this more advanded method: smarter, less invasive, and it solves the root cause first, which can be something like poor tongue posture, so the corrections remain. He then searched for a trained orthodontist in our Southern California area and Dr. Berrios' name came up as the only one familiar with this method. Dr. Berrios is trained in multiple advanced methods, including this one, and has a lot of experience. My son spoke to him and then told us about him. It was good news! Now, before we met with Dr. Berrios, my mother asked me to please, first, check out another orthodontist in Agoura Hills that was very popular with her Malibu friends. Fair enough. We made an appointment there first since he was closer to us. We had a consultation, and this doctor said it was probably too late for her, but to try, it would cost us approx $65,000, which included very aggresive surgery to move her jaw forward. $65,000! To TRY! Not only was that very expensive, but no guarantees! And risky! We thanked him for his time, and immediately made an appt with Dr. Berrios, and were silently thanking God that my son had found not just the best, but someone affordable. We met Dr. Berrios, were very impressed and signed up. It has been just over a year now, and she is almost finished! She looks amazing and nothing aggressive had to be done! I won't tell you the price because everyone is different, except to say it was much less than all the more well known orthodontists in chic and more expensive areas, and a not even close to the Agoura Hills price! So, he is smart and reasonably priced, on top of being the best! He is also very warm and friendly, and his staff is sweet and easy to work with. He is worth the drive from the Conejo Valley through deep SF Valley for us to get there x1000. I'll add a photo when she is complete! I can't yet post an AFTER pic - but I can say that being mid-process with a full mouth of braces - I feel so so fortunate to have found Dr. Berrios. I have been needing to expand my palette after some unfortunate orthodonture work in the 90's that had my ortho at the time pull teeth in order to accommodate my adult molars. We now know that this is the last thing that should be done - especially when someone has a tongue tie - which I did. The result was a very narrow palette and jaw problems, tight hips and a weak immune system - all of these items seem un-related but are actually all tied back to the narrow palette. I'm happy to share that I am more than halfway through my protocol with Dr.Berrios. He is so kind and caring - exactly what you would hope from a caregiver. Best kids Ortho in all of L.A! We have gone to a couple of orthodontics for my 8 year old. We were told she would need braces. So I "braced" myself into finding someone who was going to be the best at taking care of her teeth. The first one that we went to was very professional, cut to the point kind of doctor, didn't have much emotions or feelings for what she was telling us. Pretty much a robot. The second one was just all about being technologically advanced. The price they quoted us would have cost an arm and a leg. Ridiculously overpriced when my husband knows how much it cost for them to make at the lab because he is a dentist. So we wanted to try a different route and find a traditional, old school, someone who had a heart instead of just thinking with their pocketbook. It took me a couple of weeks to finally find my match. Dr. David Berrios at Holistic Orthodontics! He was beyond amazing. His approach was very personable and he took the time at least an hour or so (that you can't get anywhere else) to explain to us that looking at my daughter's face at an early age there are things we can do now to prevent her from having difficulties with the development of her facial structures. I was blown away with what he was explaining to us because everything was point on since she has the same facial structure as her father and he had issues as an adult because he didn't get his resolve at an early age. I can not stress enough how much I appreciate his knowledge and approach to helping my daughter with her jawline development. I am so happy to be able to write this review as a show of gratitude to Dr. Berrios and his staff. I went to their office today to get a retainer for my invisilign. I was told by my previous (terrible) dentist that I needed new retainers and was supposed to pay another $950.00. Dr. Berrios told me my retainer trays (4) are in great shape and I can keep on using them for potentially a few more years so, I don't have to spend any money on them today! He could have charged me like the other dentist wanted to do, but he didn't. He took the time (free of charge) to explain to me what the other dentist never did.
