He was a bit off putting but was professional and I chalked it up to his personality. He did provide several recommendations, one for the mitigation and one for the counter top. He also said the countertop person can recommend the rest of the contractors I will need to do the full renovation. So I did that. I called the mitigation company and they came for the water damage. While my space was drying I got on the ball and called the countertop guy named Steve, whom was very helpful. He informed me he is not able to do turn key, but told me he would make calls around to turn key contractors he trusts. He then provided me with a contractor that has been really amazing. This project is taking time. Mostly because of things on order and various issues like that. At week 10, I needed to shut my water off and realized the shut off valve was no longer working. So I reached out to John because he told me I could call him and I trusted him. This is where it gets weird. He was very rude in speaking to me. What he said was since I am not using the mitigation company to rebuild my kitchen I shut the door on him for all future plumbing repairs. I have never even heard of this. Plus I did use his recommendations. But he is not over my home, nor knows what's best for my living situation. I felt it best to remodel the entire kitchen rather than a part of it. There are several reasons I didn't choose the mitigation company to put the kitchen back, but it's also non of his business. I also wasn't asking for plumbing work to the kitchen, I needed a repair for the shut off valve for the home. John seems to have a really big ego, no feeling, and was very off putting and rude. It was actually abusive the way he spoke to me I had to hang up. Very traumatizing to be spoken to like that. He also nickel and dimes and doesn't show on time. It's just not worth the verbal and mental abuse.

I can't speak to anyone else's experience, as this review is all my personal experience and opinion…read moreonly, as I know not everyone will have the same experience and I also know there are some solid techs at this company (I have personally dealth with them), but unfortunately I had a nightmare experience with mutiple bad apples in my opinion, and it unfortunately resulted in the end of my storied relationship with a plumber that I thought would be the last one I would ever need, but as they say if something seems too good to be true it usually is... I thought I had found a plumber for life, but my personal experience with Option One ended up with me feeling as though they exhibited failed ownership in addressing an issue caused by errors from their techs, lack of accountability with regard to said issue and becoming confrontational and argumentative when the issue was brought to their attention. Long story short, I had a plumbing blockage that resulted in my front yard needing to be dug up and new pipes being installed in the yard. Upon completion of the job, I experienced flooding in my yard and requested Option One to come out and address the issue. They tried to claim it was an irrigation issue not their problem, but after getting another Option One tech and a plumber from another company to come out, it was confirmed (via photos) that the flooding was due to Option One failing to connect the piping correctly. Instead of taking ownership and accountability for the issue, I was met with defensiveness, along with the above stated lack of ownership and accountability. At one point in the process I even had to ask one of the techs to leave my property because he had such a dismissive unprofessional attitude. I could go on and on but I have already wasted so much time on dealing with this issue that it isn't worth any more of my time. At the end of the day, I found another company to correct the failed work done by Option One and this company apologized on behalf of Option One, as this company felt bad that I had to go through such an ordeal, given that the plumbing industry is already viewed in a negative light by many, right up there with mechanics, car salesmen and attorneys by some. You can read my past reviews to see how much I praised this company in the past, which is why I was so disappointed by what in my personal option was a complete lack of accountability and ownership by multiple individuals across the Option One company. After giving this company multiple five star reviews over the years, I cannot recommend them to anyone anymore as the trust they gained over the years was lost in an instant and based on my personal experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend them to anyone moving forward like I have done in the past.

When you do get through by calling their personnel directly, they tell you they will have someone call you back, and never return your call. Turns out there's a reason for that. I just found out that they appear to have exited the residential business. I can appreciate a pivot in business focus where it makes sense, although it would have been great if they had let me know in the middle of winter so I could find another provider. Delayed refunds for services, not returning calls, etc., can destroy a brand and negatively impact the business going forward. At a minimum, it would be great if you could communicate the change in focus and connect us with other residential providers. I would not recommend this company.
