Just spent the past 4 nights here. PROS nice weekend events for kids, nice pool, animals are cute. Grill has good breakfast. My spot was 673 very spacious. The woman with short blonde hair that checked me in and out was super friendly and explained everything thoroughly. Cons: the old men working the gate on weekends are like nazis. The one car per site rule is REDICULOUS considering the over flow lot is NOT walkable. It was me my 2 kids and my bf. First off we drive his car around bc its better on gas then my truck. Second he had to leave to head home at 5am. I shouldn't have to wake my children up at 5am to drive him to the front of this huge place. It was pretty empty didn't see many people at any of the campers around me. The sewer pipe was side ways. No way to set your tube up so it could flow. It was causing my camper to stink!! read more

I have mixed feelings about Holly Lake Glampgrounds. PROS: - Tons of pine cones and dried pine needles to start your campfire super fast - Bathrooms can get dirty but seem to be cleaned regularly - Warm showers - Electricity and water available on your campsite CONS: - Biting insects (I don't know what it was, but itchy as hell...almost like flea bites) - Poison Ivy - Neighbors felt the need to blast their music, and while I love 80's and 90's throwbacks, I'm not sure everyone does especially at 10pm - Most sites are powered so this is really more glamping than camping - Campground looks incredibly HUGE on the map, but all the camp sites are almost stacked right on top of each other read more

It's an ok place. The nice thing is they have 1100 sites, so if you need to stay in the area and everything else is booked up, they can probably accommodate you. It seems a little run down because there are many rigs that look like they stay there permanently and look old, covered in mold, and gross. They do have a nice pool area. Another bummer was the site near us had music blaring all day and then they were loud at night with talking and more music. We chose to be gone all day because it wasn't a place that seemed fun to hang out in. read more

Newborn deer, baby chicks, roosters and goats, oh my! Just some of the friends you will make while camping at Holly Lake! Say what?! So cool! What a bonus to our lovely stay!! Two attractions for the price of one if you ask me. This is certainly my kind of place!! Nestled in the woods about 6 miles off Coastal Highway in Rehoboth is this cute campground which offers tent, RV and cabin camping. You have the best of both worlds here. Everything you could need right down the road, beaches less than 15 minutes away and camping in the woods to escape it all. What could be better?! Most of the other campgrounds in the area were not only booked, but require a 3 night minimum stay, we found Holly Lake to be EXACTLY what we were looking for both logistically and vibe wise. $90 a night for a 4 person cabin! Fab! Hotels that night were starting at $250 and up and on the boardwalk. Booking over the phone was simple. Checking in and out was simple. The man at the gate when onto the grounds was super sweet the second we arrived giving the girls a loaf a bread to feed the adorable, friendly goats located at the front of the property. This before we even settled in! I knew we were all going to love it here. We certainly did. Now, usually I'm VERY against camping anywhere that offers children's activities and has trailers and RV's lined up next to each other. To me, that's not camping. I like to be one with nature. Maybe it's because we live in the city or that our lives are so hectic, that I purely just want to relax with those I love when we get away. Nothing else. I don't want to see gravel and stones, but trees and leaves. I need to wake up in between trees in silence. I'm usually a National Park kind of girl so I was actually a tad horrified thinking this was going to be one of those concrete jungle RV parks or one with a ton of kids. Ugh! I've been there. NEVER again!!! I was just going to suck it up. I kept telling myself "This is for the kids. This isn't your idea of camping, but it's for them! Just deal" Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! This place is so great! We were tucked in the back of the property in between trees like I wanted. We went to sleep and woke up to the sound of birds chirping and watched the sun peaking through the trees for sunrise and sunset! We were far away from everyone else! I think they did a great job at spreading people out! We had little to no interaction with anyone except for a wave to one man when I headed into the bathhouse which was clean. This place was exactly what I wanted and exactly what the kids were looking for! Perfect! I can really only speak for the cabins in the woods which were just so lovely. Very clean. A queen mattress, 1 set of bunk beds, mini fridge, two sets of Windows, a microwave and AC which we didn't even use because it was perfectly crisp outside. Each cabin came with one fire pit, one grill space and one picnic table. One car to each site. No noise was heard at all from anywhere or anyone and this was a busy shore weekend. The crackling of leaves under our feet when we walked around and birds were the only noise. Perfect!! We all slept so sound. It was wonderful! Some cabins were farther apart from each other than others. I love that the layout was planned by Mother Nature. This campsite didn't cut any trees down to fit more cabins. Says a lot about the type of people they are! Big props! There was a playground right across for us and we felt every comfortable letting the kiddos just play as we basically had the entire place to ourselves. There's cornhole, volleyball, a pool and such, but the best part for us was the petting zoo!! Ahhhhh! We adored the goats! The pigs were so funny! And the baby chicks, omg! Adorable! The animals were super friendly and used to people. In addition to the bread we were given, we bought a loaf from the general store for $3 because we just couldn't get enough!! I woke up early for a peaceful walk around the grounds. I did hear Mr Rooster crowing early in the morning. The animals are near the front and far away from the sites so he won't wake you up, but I thought it was way cool and a great way for this city gal to start the day! The animals were taken care of well! A nice open space to graze. No messes laying around to smell. A nice barn to escape the sun and parts kept in tact for mating the way nature intended. Mamas, Dads and babies living together the way they should. We haven't a single complaint and will definitely come here again! It was EXACTLY what we were looking for. We couldn't have been happier! I think I found a new go to! **There's a movie theater just down the road if it's a rainy beach day. There's a Walmart in case you forgot to pack something. There's go karts and rock climbing, water walking and such just down the road too. Oh, and the best taco place, Taco Reho open until 1am nearby. Close enough to get to something in a pinch, but far enough away from civilization if you want to be. read more

My family was looking for a campgrounds to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday. We normally camp in the Poconos, but with some family members in DC this was a better location for all. I have to say - we all LOVED Holly Lake Camp. Booking the sites was easy and staff was very friendly. We think the rates are very reasonable, especially considering everything they have to offer. The campsites and cabins were clean and spacey. We were lucky enough to be right near the playground, volleyball court, horseshoe pit and cornhole! We had so much fun - kids and adults! The pool is large, clean and tons of fun. We spent hours playing in the pool which was needed on some of the hot days. The kids loved the petting zoo, and we didn't even mind the rooster waking us up in the morning (lol). Laundry facilities on site were clean and helpful. Country store provided us with a close location for essentials. There was always staff on the grounds if you needed them. The front gate attendant was diligent to be sure no one wandered onto the grounds. They picked up garbage right from the site on a regular basis (awesome). There was an incident where we ended up with some rather disruptive neighbors, and the staff made sure that they were removed from the camp without any incident. Location of the camp was great too - so much in the area in a short drive. We made it to the beach one day, and had plenty of time to come back and enjoy the pool again! On the evening we celebrated the birthday party, we decorated the site - strung up lights, played music, held a slideshow; and it was simply amazing. The perfect setting! My one and only negative comment about Holly Lake was the condition of the bathrooms which others have commented on. Many times in the evenings the bathrooms were dirty and the toilets overflowing. I don't expect soap and amenities (c'mon people this is camping - not the Ritz Carlton), but clean, working bathrooms is a must. Despite that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Holly Lake, and would return again for sure!! read more

Well truly not the nicest people I have met that run a campground seems like they don't care whether you stay there or not and I probably wouldn't of stayed if I hadn't had friends there that have a seasonal campsite! We were getting together on our vacation! We did have a good time but nothing really to do with campground! Except the pool was very nice and not crowded through the week! Which we took advantage of every day in the morning for 3 hours a day! But other then that can't say much more roads are ridiculous getting in & out and it's confusing which way to go! Our friends had to fix our site hadn't been used in a year! Lol tall grass sewer was messed up but our friends had it beautiful by the time we got there really I think you should give them $60 as a good gesture for them doing someone's else's work! We paid $60 a nite and that was with full hook-up which price not bad but if it wasn't for our friends we would of been extremely pissed off!! Cause when I checked in I said is the site already? She said Let's hope so! Really! She was real snobby! When I walked to paid I was smiling and she just looked at me no well hello there how was your trip here? She has no personality and she didn't care! Gave me no rules or tell me bout pool or anything trying to get directions and I got a attitude then I told husband I just call our friends and they can meet us at the camp store! And that's what we did and thank god cause we would of never found that site! A lot of seasonal campers are abandoned and all dirty and roads all bumpy! Never again that's one and done for us! Thank god we knew our friends there! Otherwise we would have left! On one side of us was a abandoned camper other side a family with kids and those kids were riding loud 3 wheelers all day yelling and crying and they would stop and stare at us while we eating and they had cars going in & out all day & nite! It was crazy! But it was nice seeing our friends spending time with them we made the best of it! They have a petting Zoo that is nice for kids but never saw any kids there! Too long of walk to even get there! They had a sign for golf but never saw that probably run down and closed! But the pool was nicely kept! Camp Store had hand dipped ice cream and I heard they serve breakfast in there! But walked in there and girl working never spoke either not good morning or can I help you? It might be ok I never got anything in there! Wasn't the best camp store I have ever been in but they had some supplies! The cabins looked ok from the outside but too close together for my taste! I gave 2 Stars for the pool I never used the ladies room I did shower in my camper was to scared to look in those bathrooms! Lol the place really could be nice but needs a lot of work!! read more

Worst campground I've ever stayed in. I understand we came "pre-season" but there's no excuse for the lack of service, supplies or upkeep. The store that we relied on for supplies was completely empty including charcoal bricks needed for their bbqs which coming to was told they'd have. The rooms were disgusting and bed were hard as a rock. The bathrooms weren't maintained or cleaned/sanitized for the 3 days we were there, no one came to pick up garbage so that too sat for days at our site. The animals at the "petting zoo" which was the only amenity open for my kids had no food to feed them or for them to eat for the entire weekend. The store was closed Monday so the things we needed to depart weren't available and there was not one single person to contact for a few issues we had. We don't want to be totally negative so we'll say "it just wasn't for us" for the following reasons: 1. The campers in the permanent sites were in horrible condition. It's hard to believe most of them are even habitable. 2. All of the sites were all in need of attention (dead limbs and leaves everywhere). On a positive note, with a little gravel for the roads and sites, combined with a little general sprucing up, this campground would be attractive to campers who appreciate clean, natural beauty. read more

2 stars only because the grounds themselves were pretty. 1 star and unacceptable for everything else. $40 is pricey for primitive tent camping anyways, but when we first a arrived they sent us to a campsite that someone was already camping in. The man said "Yea I never checked in. Let me call the front desk and tell them I'm here and ask where you should go." Showing lack of security and bookkeeping. Next I went to the women's restroom which had 3 stalls: one of which was out of order, the second overflowing, and the last was filthy but at least flushed. There was no soap or way to dry your hands. The men's room smelled like urine but at least the showers got hot quickly. Around midnight when we were trying to go to sleep, we had a drunk man camped next to us that was SO INCREDIBLY LOUD. He didn't stop talking until the rain finally made me fall asleep. It was loud until probably 2 in the morning- which at most places is far past quiet time (usually 11pm-6/7am). Showing they imposed no rules on their patrons. There were no trash cans. Peoples yippy dogs kept barking. Overall thumbs down. We didn't plan well which is why last minute we had to choose this place. If you have a chance to plan then I would most definitely skip out on this place. read more

This is absolutely the worst campground I've ever seen. Rude staff, dirty bath house, (shower curtain for door in toilet), sites are not mowed or maintained at all. Road to get to the sites are so badly potholed it was dangerous to drive. Lot of permanent sites, dirty and unkept, most looked deserted. No cable tv or wi-fi, but priced at $55 per nite, high for campground with no amenities. Too bad as it is near beaches and shopping. We left after 2 nights, 3 days early, we had enough! read more

We've camped here twice and both times had good experiences. We tent camp, so I had to give it to 3 stars based on that experience and not being in a camper. Pros: 1. Very close to the beach and the cost is way better than trying to stay in a hotel or condo. 2. Camp sites are in the woods. 3. The camp store is great and fully stocked with anything you could ever need. Cons: 1. There doesn't seem to be a spot just for tent campers. The campsite is mostly a trailer park and setting up a tent between campers and trailers is not ideal. I would easily give 4 stars if there was a designated tent site. 2. The campsites are not well marked. Our assigned spot was between 2 roads and the numbers didn't line up on each road. We had no idea which space was ours. I called to ask for help and they told us to take whatever site we wanted because they didn't put many people there. We asked to be the spot on the end because at least we knew we were close to a real spot. Later that night a trailer pulled up and couldn't figure out their space either and in attempt to be near a hookup, they backed their camper next to our tent. They nicely moved after we explained that they were at least 3 spots away from their assigned space. The next morning another camper also drove up and down the road trying to find their space. Glad we didn't just take a site as suggested. 3. The staff is a little disorganized. If you couldn't tell from my second point, they don't seem to have a good handle on who is where. On our first trip they gave us our assigned spot but told us if we found a spot we liked better we could take it. We did and when we called to tell them (after we set up) they said we couldn't have that spot. We took everything down and moved to our site next door. The next morning at 6 am a guy knocked on our tent saying we were in his site. Both our parking stickers had the same site number. Luckily they found him another site. 4. Minor cons: The bathrooms and roads are rough. I don't need much in a bathroom, but some soap would be nice. They didn't look like they were cleaned often. We come prepared so it's not a big deal. The roads are not paved and there are major potholes. Drive the posted 10 miles an hour or you'll cause some damage to your car. read more

Multi-family camping trip a couple weeks ago and this campground was wonderful! The friendly staff are always helpful and available. Campsites and cabins were clean with surrounding area with swings and lots to do for the kids. The pool was a big hit from the youngest (2 & 4 year old) and 4 generations! It is large, clean and well maintained. A sudden rain storm came quickly, so we found the laundromat was close, clean and easy to use. The kids loved free ice cream night :) and the petting zoo! There are so many great things about this campground, we will definitely come back and recommend to others! read more

I give 2 stars but 2.75 is what i truly want to give because it was not ALL that bad. Check in went smooth and the lady gave us a map literally outlining how to get to our cabin, signs r very easy to follow regardless of where your staying. Dont look to get in any earlier than the 3 check in. The cabin was right in what's called the recreation area plus near bathhouse negative waaay too many kids screaming from morning til night and u have to walk thru sand to get to the bathroom which in turns gets all over the cabin floor.. Cabins were clean and included a broom to keep things neat (if u choose ) nice apartment size frig n microw. They do there best with the up keep of the bathrooms, the part that grossed me out a bit was the vent had dust CAKED on and 1 drain for 2 showers meets right in the middle of the stalls. The general store had ice and all things u might need for camping if you forgot anything, breakfast served til 2 some arcade games n pool table (2 out of service) didn't need anything from the store these r things i just noticed. The pool was pleasantly clean, many chairs provide many that were in need of some repair. We played the 9 hole disc golf course very easy enjoyable course, mini golf n zoo also there but we didn't bother with either. We had nice neighbors each side of us across from us was a family of about 30 people that took up 4 cabins and they were a bit noisy and security does not enforce the whole"1 vehicle per cabin, any extra goes into a general parking area". read more

Holly Lakes Campsite has more potholes than the Grand Cannon, trees that scratch your car, dirty bathroom with huge cockroaches. The campsites are horrible and trash every where. People who rate this campsite more than 2 stars must never been camping. Try Tall Pines, Yogi Bear Campsite. What a disappointment.. So many complaining at the window, didn't take long until I realize why. read more

The pool was nice, but that is it. The sites were too close together and all you could smell was the sewage from the next site. The playground was old and outdated. They say they are dog friendly, but you better put a muzzle on your dog if you want to take your furry friends. Any barking is not tolerated by the regulars as was stated to us. If you don't own a perminent site there you are not as valued is how we felt. read more
