When the leeches dropped off after around a week, leaving huge holes, my poor catfish died. I did not notice them before using the copper sulfate. Just caution in buying fish from Petco. What I am seeing is not Petco, rather the suppliers are mass producing fish, like the guppies, that are no longer strong specimens. We had so many guppies growing up, and these are SO Different, they now always seem to be weak from any Pet Store! Had 4 of the weakling guppies die, while I have 6 Neons that are fine.

The grooming center really deserves a special shoutout because they always go above and beyond for our Siberian Husky who requires extra attention and effort for her insanely thick and multi-layered coat. I wouldn't trust most people with my fur baby, but ever since the first visit went perfectly, we never looked elsewhere for grooming services and service has stayed consistently amazing over the years. We also love their selection of dog toys and always have great sales on stuffed toys in the big bins by the checkout line. We have our husky on Orijen dog food (senior blend), and you definitely can't find that at all pet stores/grocery stores but I can always count on this location for having it in stock.

It became apparent very quickly that this store needs some much needed attention - mainly help with cleanliness and animal care. When my son and I walked in, we immediately noticed a strong urine smell that permeated the entire store. We then walked around to look at some of the animals and were appalled at the unhealthy state of a lot of them. The chameleons had so much stuck shed on them, likely due to their poor living conditions (improper humidity, temperature, diet or lighting). Some of the leopard geckos had skinny tails - a true sign that they are malnourished. The mice had feces all over their enclosures. These examples are just a few of the very obvious red flags we immediately noticed. We left without buying anything, although we came for dog treats and leopard gecko accessories/ food. I am not writing this to complain, but to express concern for the animals.

The day of my dog's appointment, I walk inside only for ANDREA (vet tech) to tell me that they were closed for the day... done giving vaccines! I was told that they close at 1 PM and had to move on to another location. There was a guy standing beside her who just stood there like a bump on a log and said nothing (found out later he was the actual veterinarian). I was beyond pissed because WHY would they allow me to make an appointment for 12:55 if they closed at 1?!? I called and spoke with a store staff member (Mary) who was very nice and perplexed as to why they did not accommodate me. She saw me walk inside and be denied service and questioned them about it. The staff member we interacted with was very nice and helpful. He showed us the example rooms and we made our selections. The private suite seemed best, maybe a little small, but better than the side-by-side accommodations with unknown dogs. We were verbally quoted a price and then set for our upcoming trip. On check-in day we did not see the same employee, though the person we dealt with was very nice and patient with our dog. She even let us know exactly what type of toys we could leave. While on our trip we received a picture of our dog, which was very nice as she seemed to be smiling! Really the biggest issue we had was the total being almost $100 more than verbally quoted. The paper they presented to us at check out was their copy, we could only take a picture of it. It did not list a breakdown of the price. The Manager immediately came over, as she was on site, but she basically asked about the total we were given - which can be difficult to recall after you've been traveling all day and it was only verbally said to you. She then looked at the computer screen without saying a word and said the amount was correct. It was an odd interaction... We really liked the convenience of their location and the options they offered, however the experience with the price and their reactions ended everything on a sour note. The communication could just use some work - for example, if we had been given the quote in writing to begin with (instead of verbally) it would have helped A LOT. There have also been some bad habits our dog picked up after staying at Petsmart, though we understand it's bound to happen. Overall, we might board at Petsmart again but next time we will probably consider other places first.

Before I found Christina I would take her to the local pet groomers (not saying any names) to get her cut and it was always so traumatic for both of us. I even went to "cat's only" groomers-but it was always too stressful. I did some research and found Christina around 2015 and she has been our Savior ever since!! I will never go to another salon!!! Christina comes to our home and does her magic right here in my kitchen. She is so gentle with Cuppy and has such a pleasant manner that immediately puts Cupcake (and me) ease. While living in SoFlo we had two bad experiences with groomers that caused me to look for someone to come in to my home and groom her in my presence. Once was a van and the other was a big box pet store. The store incident, I didn't like the idea of leaving her for 4 plus hours with an array of other frightened caged dogs. But I did because I didn't know any better. I picked her up to find her shaking and all nicked up. I then said next time I'll call a van.... The van incident was that I could hear her terrified cries with shrieks that said she was being hurt from my backyard! That was the first and last time I'd ever use a van. Through word of mouth I was led to a groomer who would come in to my home and do everything with us in the house and it was great. Until of course I moved to Georgia and had to start my search for a groomer all over again. Lots of vans and doggie salons pop up on Yelp and Yahoo but no sign of an "in home groomer" that is until I actually searched that online with my zip code. VOILA! In home Pet Groomer and she services my area; Fantastic! Christina is her name and she is amazing. SO sweet and gentle, and it definitely helps that she has a soothing voice. She is the only person who Stella is totally ok with and DOESN'T cry. I was completely shocked the first time she came. And so incredibly grateful. Christina brings everything she would need, however I like her to use my towels and my specific shampoo because of Stella's sensitive skin. Her shaver sucks in the hair as it goes so she leaves no mess. It's great! She takes about an hour or so just depending on what sort of cut we want. She takes her time and makes sure she doesn't hurt her. What a thought right? I feel very lucky to have Christina. My Stella trusts her and that makes me happy. Sure, once Stella realizes what's about to happen she freaks because she doesn't like being groomed or bathed but she is at ease once the process starts; and so am I! I highly recommend her.
