I always enjoy going into the Olive Branch location of Hollywood Feed. The employees are always helpful and have great advice. I'm thankful for them- especially now that I am fostering pups. To be able to ask them for advice on dietary help is priceless. Yesterday I went in asking about one of my fosters and they recommended raw goats milk and a purée to help with stool issues. My little puppy dog (+40 lbs - 5 months) might be an adopted mutt but I feed him and treat him like the king he really is! My husband loves the dog too, and also he's always asking for the ingredients in the products we feed him, as well as being very cautious about the toys we give him, but that doesn't stop him for making fun of me telling our friends the Dog eats better than him (maybe not true, but he does eat very healthy just like him! haha) They have great products, I absolutely love the treats, the cookies, everything with simple ingredients and no weird byproducts just to keep them full. So my general experience here is usually good but last night the two women behind the counter made it one of the worst and unprofessional experiences I've had. I work a full time job as a dog handler with a private company and run a side business training pets as well as professional working dogs. My business name and contact information is displayed on the rear window of my pickup truck. A fellow customer approached me as I finished purchasing some items as we spoke BOTH employees suggested another trainer for her pet as well as offering his card and that they are taking their pets to this individual. It should be noted neither woman knew my history, training experience or abilities. But it was obvious the woman was uncomfortable with me standing there, after asking ME, for my information and sayin she had a Shepherd she wanted help with. Then. These two boldly and unprofessionally swaying her in a completely opposite direction. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. Very displeased with this experience as a business woman. read more

Soo ok I'm stopped in today to look around because I was in area. I have 5 dogs and have spent a lot of time with this brand but I will say today I was put off by staff. They clearly had gotten a shipment in and maybe frustrated with the amount of stock to put away. Idk..I just got two new puppies and wanted to look and see if there anything that jumped out at me. After almost being ran over twice by team putting stock away then a lady wearing a wonder woman face covering asked a few times if I needed help and I replied no I'm just looking around thanks.. Then I guess she thought I was in the way or being a bother and said to me do you need help? Somewhat aggressive. Again I said no I'm just looking. She replied well your just wondering around! I guess if walking up the aisles is wondering. The other gentleman working replied I guess he is just here to inspect us to make sure we are good dog food store!! What is that supposed to mean?? Warm, cozy and inviting place. The people who work there get to bring their dogs to work! Tons of great accessories if you enjoy tormenting your dog by dressing them up. Location is amazing always clean great materials to purchase and they replace collars if they are ripped torn etc but since the remodel and new staff came in the customer service quality has gone down.. really miss the old staff they were never on their phone always offered help. Walked in to buy 2-40 lb bags of dog food I had to ask for help picking it up and going to my car cause I'm high risk and it was over 5 minutes of interrupting their gossip about a co worker before I got help. I've been to several Hollywood Feeds including: Southaven, Collierville, Oxford, and several in Memphis. The Olive Branch store will always be my favorite. They have the best staff, and they're personal. They know me when I walk in. They know what I do for a living and ask how that's going. They ask me advice, I ask them advice. I love the staff here. And they love my dog! They have a buy 12 get 1 free program with their food, and you can have a cat card and dog card at the same time. Way better than 10% off that Petco offers, if you ask me. Plus, they always have 10%off coupons in the Clipper magazine, and school cards can get you 15% off. They also have a good selection of chews for dogs, mine love duck feet and cod skins. They aren't bad like rawhide, and they're not that pricey either. 69c per foot, 99c per skin. They've been running a 10 for $5 special on duck feet, so we stay stocked up. I remember in December they were always out, my poor dogs went insane. They also carry their own brand of beds and toys. I don't know about the toys, but the beds are made in Mississippi, which is pretty awesome if you ask me. And the price on their MS-made beds actually aren't that bad. They sell Kong brand tennis ball by the singles, for 99c each. I'll buy a couple of those at a time. Some stores have a grooming station, but I've never used it so I can't comment on those. I will always go to Hollywood Feed over other pet stores. They're pet friendly, they're rescue friendly, and there's never any confusion over what they do and don't carry and what's safe and not safe. read more
