Stopped by here on a Wednesday afternoon because we were seriously craving some tacos. There was a pretty long line when we arrived, but don't let that scare you off--it moved incredibly fast thanks to their efficient order/pickup system. We got 3 tacos and 1 quesadilla to share between the two of us. To be honest, for the price point, I expected the portions to be a bit bigger (especially the quesadilla, which was on the smaller side). I ordered the Pollo Asado taco with everything. You can choose corn or flour tortillas. I picked corn. The flavor is worthy of 5 stars, so the hype is real. The chicken was so flavorful. It came with onions, cilantro, & guacamole. The combination of flavors was perfect. And the chicken truly was excellent. My only complaint is the size. The taco is about $6, but I ate it in 3 or 4 bites. It was very small. However, seeing the crowd in there, apparently the taco size is not an issue. Los Tacos # 1 was easily one of the best bites of my recent trip to NYC. This small chain is serving up super fresh authentic style tacos & sides in a bustling, nostalgic atmosphere. The food was super fresh- you directly watch the chicken grilling and team assembling tacos fast- it's chaotic but they get it right! The pork pastor may have been my favorite- just perfect balance of spice and flavor in the meat with the toppings on a tortilla where you actually taste the real corn. The chicken taco also hit with chicken straight off the grill. The quesadilla is essentially a larger taco with cheese and was also delicious- I tried the flour tortilla for this one which I was told is made in a traditional way with lard. I don't know if I've ever had a real flour tortilla like that before... it was so good! The salsa and guac with the chips were also amazing. They have an assembly line setup- the staff guides you to a waiting spot at the prep counter so you get an entertaining and exciting open kitchen viewing experience!
