NEVER had any issues at this spot until my last visit. Cost for entry at the door changed randomly to the point of $50/head on a Sunday...REALLY? I assumed it must have been popping so we paid, but nope... it was still empty per the usual. Note, that the $50 charge was JUST to get through the door and DID NOT include the hookah. I am a fan of Hollywood Hookah Lounge... I loved the decor of this place from the massive aquarium to the dark red lighting. Ooh and the worlds tallest hookah?... Wow, never seen something so darn cool! Our hookah was tasty and did not get harsh at all for 45 mins... Kudo's for that! Only issue is the service was not great. We had to constantly ask for coals and we asked four times just for our check. This place was only about 25% full, so I don't see a reason for the lack of service. This place is trendy and different then most hookah lounges I've visited. They played mostly rap from the late 90's to recent. I was not feeling most of the music but seemed some were as many were dancing. I look forward to checking out some of the other locations they have in LA county to discover which location is better. Lastly, I would have gladly given 4 stars had the service been equal the quality of the hookah. If you're not Arab, and you want the full on commercialized sense of capitalism on cultural appropriation, this is the joint for you! But as an Arab, I was pretty disappointed with the entire experience here, from food to service to vibe. My girlfriend and I met up (drove from OC mind you) for a night out to relax and enjoy a good time of unwinding with food, drinks and hookah. We called ahead to confirm space and food and were told we'd be well accommodated. What we were not warned of were the following: There is a non refundable $10 cover charge per entry. No exceptions. That was on top of our $70 bill for absolutely ridiculous orders. So just know, off the bat, you're party will be forking over unnecessary funds just to put your foot in the door of this venue. Next, you'll be met with a long ass electronic waiver that you'll need to read, get your ID scanned into, a photo of you, and then a signature, releasing the venue of all responsibility if anything were to happen to you (hookah tipping over, charcoal falling, etc.) because apparently they were met with some lawsuit before and wanted a way to safeguard themselves. I'd get it, had the server not tipped our hookah on my shoes, causing embers to soar. Their food is from the neighboring restaurant that was barely edible. The DJ didn't have an eclectic selection. The vibe was not the typical lounge vibe. The server seemed so impatient with us it became absolutely frustrating and borderline offensive. Randomly in the middle of our night, we were approached and asked to move because some rich ass homie paid $800 to take our table so naturally as paying customers we were expected to pick up and go share a table with another group. When homie and his click arrived, they didn't like the table from which we were exiled and moved elsewhere and someone else was seated there. There's no coffee. There are ridiculous restrictions. I definitely won't be going back or recommending this place. People go out to lounges and hookah spots to unwind, not feel like their in jail. It was a stressful experience that was most certainly not worth the $70 we could've saved or spent elsewhere on better food, drinks and vibes. read more

My friend and I were amazed by this place. We are from the OC and we usually go to Hookah places closer to us. We were so impressed from the moment we walked into the door as the nice security guy explained the ID patron scanning system. Which we thought was brilliant to keep the riffraff out of their establishment. The quality of the tobacco and charcoal was exceptional as well as the food. The lounge is heated with lamps that they could turn off if you get to warm. Room was not smoky like some hookah lounges could be. DJ Blvd was great with TV's playing music videos all around. The staff, Nameer and Anna, were very nice and took the time to explain everything to us and keep coming by making sure we were doing ok. We will be making the 1.5 hour trip back to Hollywood Hookah because it is so worth it!!!! read more

My friends and I came to your establishment yesterday night, and did not receive not ONE decent customer service (these young adults have no sense of customer service). First we were greeted by the so called "bouncers" and they said the cover charge was $10 each person, cool! But we didn't have cash so the hostess showed us the atm. My friend tried twice and I tried twice to get cash out, atm clearly didn't work. Then the "bouncer" said he has to turn off the power and restart it or it maybe out of cash. Luckily, we found a atm next door which worked just fine, so while we waited to get cash out we got tacos too. After we were finished, which took 10min we came back and then the "bouncer" said it was $20 and pretend he didn't just see us, which didn't make sense if he said it's now $20. Then we explained that the atm wasn't working and we found an atm that worked right next door to pay for our cover charge and enjoy our time smoking hookah. Best thing about this establishment is that it's a hookah bar with a full bar. Many establishments in the area don't have a licquor license with a hookah license which I think is related to being indoors. Anyways place could be a lot better with a little attention to detail. Decent hookahs with decent flavor selection, I'm a apple mint guy. Parking is available on side streets but area can be filled with homeless and trash. 4 month ago, I stopped by on a whim... perhaps it was because of NYE, but my visit was just okay... nothing too special. I think a lot of it may have been I was seated on the 18+ side, but regardless, my visit then was just "meh." Then, the owner of Hollywood Hookah contacted me because he wasn't satisfied with my review. He extended an invite back, and I figured why not? Well, I am very glad I took him back on his offer. Not only did he comp the hookah (Adios flavor, Watermelon Bowl, Milk Base =$34), he took care of the valet ($20) and about $60 worth of alcohol. I was expecting to pay for our drinks, and I was floored and very pleasantly surprised that our entire visit was free. My best friend and I got VIP treatment the second we walked in. Our waitress, Amber, was super attentive. The coals were replaced without having to ask. They also played every song we requested immediately, and all the employees were fun, courteous and attentive. We were treated like royalty. It was amazing. On top of that, DJ Dominiq (one of our faves) was spinning that night. He also showed us a lot of love too. Although this is a pricier hookah lounge, I really appreciate the creative mixes, the alcohol and great service. It is a drive from Orange County, but my friend and I both made the decision that we will be budgetting extra money aside and come back once a month, just because the service we received last night was so amazing. read more
