I make a pedicure for several years at this place because it is a short drive from my house. Last time I was there in May of 2025, and I noticed that they economize on everything they can now. They didn't put a plastic wrap in the tub with water, didn't sprinkle soap powder, this particular technician used one hot wet towel for legs not two, like before - one towel for each leg. They charge a little extra for non-cash payments without giving a notice to a customer, and I noticed another little thing which I don't want to say about. Did it affect the quality of my pedicure- no, but I was not happy that the employees had to save pennies in this economy going downhill. read more

I am going to just share with you my experience at this nail salon. I have been getting acrylic nails for about one year. Have been to multiple places. This has got to be the worst one here in Tucson. Here are my issues with the place. 1. I was rushed through the process 2. During process I kept having to tell him that I had one nail/finger was hurt and to be extra careful with because I smashed it. 3. When I was done it was so sloppy and messy 4. I was charged $37 for fill and gel with ONE color (my regular place is $25) 5. Less than a week later and my nails are lifting and now have to get them done again. I wish I would have read reviews! Manicure was such a disappointment. Within days the gel polish started flaking off. I've never had that happen with gel. Considering the cost a huge disappointment. Also just a heads up to always ask for total and check receipt. While there several customers had price discrepancies and when I was checking out same thing happened to me. There was an extra $10 charge and when I pointed it out they said that could be the tip. Mistakes happen but that made me uncomfortable and I like to choose tip for services. My pedicure was nice and interestingly enough my regular toe polish hasn't peeled or flaked off. Too many other choices to waste your time & money here. Highly recommend going elsewhere!! read more

Hollywood nail experience : *paid for a service that wasn't provided hygienically or accurately and now suffering from spas treatment. Pedicure * When I went to the pedicure tub there were hairs stuck in the drain/plastic vent. * The nail tech used dirty nail clippers & pedicure tools. There were other people's clippings in the tools. * I was burned by the towels on my legs and my right foot. * The job was sloppy Manicure * dirty tools, other peoples hangnails were in the tools and on the table, including a used towel that had previous nail and skin clippings * The nail tech cut my skin so I have an open wound from dirty nail tools. My thumb that got cut is now hurting and even to the bone. I am worried about some kind of infection. * When I walk in the spa has in letters on the wall "holly wood nail is the cleanest spa." And that is NOT true. I been hesitating to call or not and I'm worried and I don't feel a good experience or service was provided to me. I want a full refund. I have photos of the incident and will even follow up with a doctor/ health provider if I need to do so. I normally love going to Hollywood nails and spa so much that I drive forty minutes to go there instead of staying in my home town . Two of the workers there do such a great job on my nails. However this time I was put with the owner Tony for the first time. Tony was in a bad mood, irritated, frustrated and impatient, and he kept throwing my hand around. He kept rushing and hurting the sides of my fingers. never saying sorry. When he was done my nails looked terrible and he tried charging me ten dollars more than than the price that was posted on the wall that he was intentionally blocking. when I asked why the extra ten he got very upset and loudly kept saying over and over that my nails needed extra work (which they did not). he did less work than any nail rec I have ever had. Finally he said "fine don't pay the extra then and I said ok and it made him so angry. wow! I couldn't wait to get out of there. He has a good crew but Tony is going to ruin his business for himself. They are really clean and even give you a face shield to take home, which is great. I live coming here for pedicures, but Everytime I get the man who I think is the owner or at least the manager I am unhappy with my manicure. He did my first dip and it was crumbly and uneven, and he's done a fill in my acrylics twice and both times he cut my skin with his grinder on more than once finger. The layer of acrylic is so thin they break and he stretches the paint too much it looks blotchy on my nails. Then charges $45 for a basic fill and hovers over me as I open my wallet to see what I have in it. I won't be back even for a pedicure. We were seated in chairs in a reasonable amount of time I got a pedicure, my youngest got a pedicure and they only painted her fingernails My oldest just got a manicure. Though the guy in the first chair was shouting orders, it still seemed there was confusion I know I could have spoke up and got my manicure, but the 2 hour pedicure was a bit much As we waited for my oldest daughter to finish, a roach crawled across the floor. I'm not one for "bad reviews" but I felt the need to share my experience. I came in Hollywood Nails at about 10 minutes to 6 (They close at 7) and asked how much a color change would be for gel, a male named "Tony" looked at me not answering my question but telling me to have a seat and pick my color, as he walked off I asked for the price again, but no response.( I'm thinking it can't be more than 15, 20 at most, right?) I obliged and sat down, I really wanted my nail color changed to another pink shade for breast cancer month so I thought why not! But the moment he asked me to stuff my fingers in a shot glass filled with acetone is the moment I probably should have kindly walked out. He callously then used the drill to take the more of the nail polish off, with no patience or consideration for my nails, or drilling my cuticle. Why I stayed I don't know, in my head I made the excuse that he was a male, busy and maybe just wanted to go home after a long day. All the while a poor gal next to me had been soaking her fingers in acetone this whole time and maybe more, smiling towards me saying her fingers were shriveled. It was then time to wash my hands, I walked back hoping the polishing phase would be better ... He began by making a phone call, while starting the bottom coat, it didn't sound like a nice conversation. My new friend and I glanced over to one another with eyes wide open. My fingers were literally baking the the whole time under the UV light while he kept polishing them. One gal came in, Tony quickly says" We are busy, can you come tomorrow" without a hello or apology. About 10 minutes later, another gal comes in and he asks what she needs done and tells her to have a seat. (Wasn't he just busy?) He continues to paint my nails, he then turns and asks her what color she would like, she responds that she would like them done as ombré, he seems to not understand or is frustrated and says "What color?!" At this point I want to laugh, but bite my lip. She tries to explain the best she can, and as soon as she shows him a photo says:"Oh we can't do that". She turns and shows me, I mention it's really pretty. Tony then chimes in and says its actually "airbrush", and says some other things I can't remember and then says: "go pick a color". (But I thought he just said he couldn't do that.) By this point I don't even talk or look at my nails at the fear of what he will say. We are finally done, and he says $26... (Wait, isn't a manicure $25?) I look wide eyed and repeat $26... He says yes: "$21 for shellac color and $5 for take off" Now I wouldn't be complaining if I had had the best customer service, had felt welcomed, respected and not rushed. He then adds that he wouldn't lie to me about pricing. I hand him my card, I ask for a receipt and he sarcastically responds with "Suuuure, why not". Gulp. I ask myself why should anyone pay for this sort of service? There's at least 3 or 4 people being serviced? And now I have dark pink colored nails on my left hand and light pink colored nails on my right. He couldn't even pain my nails evenl- you had one job Tony. Never coming back! I stopped in here with a friend after a movie to get my nails done. Neither of us had been here before and because it's so close to where I live, I was curious to try it out. I was getting a basic full set, my friend was getting French tips. We both had different men doing our nails, both sporting name tags that said "manager" under their names. Now I admit, I am a nail-biter. I have been since I can remember and because of that my natural nails are tiny and disgusting - it's embarrassing. What's more embarrassing is having someone point that out to me as if I don't know. That set the mood for my experience but isn't the reason I'm giving only two stars. The guy had this weird-looking thumbnail that he used on my cuticles and it hurt (it was also pretty gross). He was very rough and impossible to make conversation with. His English was great, he was just uninterested in talking beyond telling me now and again how bad my nails were. Still, they looked nice when he was done and lasted about two weeks so I can't complain about the quality of my nails, just the service. My friend, like I said, had a different guy. She complained when we left because hers was on the phone and texting constantly while doing her nails. He was also very rough with her and had the weird thumbnail thing going too. Her nails were done nicely as well, just a service issue. The prices were standard. I paid $26, she paid $30-35, I forget. I'll definitely try another place next time but if you don't mind roughness and awkward silence, they DO do a really nice job on the nails. Also, the people in there getting pedicures seemed completely content and were being serviced by other people, so if you're going in for that, there probably won't be any issues. read more

I decided to try out this nail salon because from the outside it looked nice and clean..as soon as I got out of my car a gentleman outside began asking me what I wanted to have done and I told him I wanted silk wrap treatment. He said no one gets it done anymore because now there is shellac gel and its "much better". I kept telling him I was not interested, that I needed the silk wrap for a split nail I have that splits all the way to my cuticle. Once again, he urged me to get shellac. I finally caved in and said okay. My nail technician didn't acknowledge me much, especially when I told her about my concerns with my split nail. She just nodded her head and told me to pick a color. This shellac gel treatment is supposed to last three to four weeks without chipping or peeling. I've had it for a little over a week and all fingers have chipped nail polish, my finger with the split nail has become worse due to the polish peeling off after the third day and the response from my nail technician when I called to schedule an appointment to come in and get it fixed was, "you must have had oil on your nails that's why it chipped". Uh? Okay... Safe to say I'm never going back unless I want to be pushed into spending $45 ($10 tip) on something that does NOT last, especially with a split nail! read more

I wanted red and black polish nails on one hand three red and two black with a red rose on the black on one thumb. and on the other hand three black and two red with a black rose on the red thumb. I asked if they understood what I was asking and could they to it. The lady all she would say is yes red. So I explained again, she said yes yes ok. I came in there today to get a Mani and Pedi first thing I was surprised on how big this place was but after that i wasn't impressed. The massage they give you is horrible. There was no pressure at all with the foot or hand massage. Also they didn't even massage my feet or hands at all! After I was done with my mani the guy was trying to kick me out right when i started checking my nails to see if they were dry (which they weren't yet). He goes to grab my purse which he had no right to do since I was still drying my nails. I told him to leave it because I wasn't ready yet. After my nails finally dried I looked at them and they were horrible. They were uneven and nail polish everywhere. The search continues here in Tucson ***Update**** So I got a message from Rebecca yesterday trying to get me to come in so they can redo my nails. I told her no thank you and I rather have a full refund instead since the job should of been done correctly the first time. She has continued to harass me over and over to Change my review. I went in for a simple polish change and regreted it the moment I sat down. First, I had to argue with the tech, Jason, because he insisted on filing off my regular polish and charging me extra for doing so. He reluctantly used acetone to remove the polish after I argued the fact that it was regular polish and not gel. He got to work with the pale pink polish I had chosen from the color wheel. I immediately noticed that the light, nearly white pale pink was a bright, Barbie-like pink. When I brought this to his attention, he was aggravated and said, "You picked this color!" I had to ask another tech to bring the color wheel, and it was not until I showed him the difference that the two began with excuses as to why. They attempted to fix it by applying a new color on the already polished nails. The color was still off, and I was annoyed at this point, so I just had him complete the original job. The tech was rude, rolling his eyes, speaking about the incident or perhaps about me in his native language, and carelessly finishing the polish change. When he was done, my hands had different colors on each, and I was charged $21... I've never been charged this much for an exemplar set at other, higher end salons- I was floored. I brought it up with Tony, the manager, and he was dismissive and disrespectful until I brought posting a review on Yelp. At that point, he became "friendly" and tried to fix it by knocking off a few bucks. He also tried explaining that the manufacturers colors were off and that it was not his responsibility. Tommy did amazing on my nails even shortening them so I can type again. left paying $61 dollars total including the tip. I appreciate him for making it up to me - even if I had to pay to get a new set. I will be going there again despite the rough start as a new customer of theirs. I am so very upset. I spent about $50.00 ($46.50 with $10.00 tip) on a new set of nails. Im not girly enough to really care about keeping up this ritual, however a friend recommended this place so I went. The nail tech was wonderful and fast - I left happy with hot pink nails and a cute design. FAST FORWARD to Friday. After getting ready, my husband directed me to something on my face, when i went to clean it a nail had popped off! A WEEK! only a WEEK with this full set. In my fury i removed the remaining nails because I cannot have one hand with 4 nails, can you say Ghetto! When i did call them and let them know - whoever answered said WHY YOU NOT TELL US TIL NOW?! like i did something wrong. I am heartbroken for 2 reasons! 1 )I have to give a star or I cant leave a review. 2) I paid for the service.. I was waiting with this young girl to get a pedicure. We waited about 45 mins together. I waited 70+ minutes in total. I noticed the owner Tony, was turning away clients. At first I was like ah man, this place is super busy and that sucks for those ladies. Then when I was called back I sat in my chair and witness him again turning away clients and allowing other clients to walk in and wait. Mind you no one had appointments. Now, I understand it very well could have been timing. But after waiting 70+ minutes it appeard to be more a pattern then timing. When I was finished and ready to pay, Tony chose to have a lady who walked in 20 minutes after me and a young girl to be seen next. At this point I had to speak up. I said hey wait a minute she (the young girl) was here first. He sternly told me "I KNOW, I HAVE SOMEONE WHO WILL TAKE HER NEXT" I Said well that's not fair, shes been waiting. He said again very annoyed now," I KNOW" I told him well it is your business, and while I'm at it I want you to know I will never be back. I SAW WHAT YOU DID AND YOU'RE A MEAN PERSON, YOU'RE A BAD PERSON. Louis and Monica did an outstanding job and they really took their time and made sure it was perfect! Next time I'm in town, I will definitely stop by. I went with my friend and her daughter and the website said they close at 7 but they are rushing us out at 5:45. When I told him the mistake with overcharging he didn't even apologize just said very loudly for me to hold on then brought me another receipt to sign I was trying to tell him I needed to read the new Receipt before signing and he kept cutting me off. After him being very rude when he did say he would refund my card like it was a huge inconvenience I deceided to not leave a tip after and very loudly he said there was a place for the tip and leave what I like. My daughter and I just went and she got a mani seemed to have been done great and done right. I got a pedi and asked for the $45 one which she confirmed the one I asked for. Linda was the one who did my pedicure. I didn't even get the full service the $45 offered no leg message no scrub I got the most basic pedicure. I asked her a question twice and was completely ignored. When she was done she pulled out those sandals they have and I tried telling her I had my own sandals and she completely ignored me, she was on the phone the entire time. I can careless if someone is on their phone while doing their thing but being ignored is not okay. When I went to pay I wasn't even charged the right pedicure which is fine since I didn't get the service I asked for but even the $40 pedicure offered more than what I received.
