My husband and I ordered breakfast from Borderland Brewing a few Saturday mornings ago which is a couple businesses down from Wax Werks. We were about to eat on the patio, but then got a nasty, overwhelming smell of Marijuana coming from near the patio. It almost made me sick, so we decided to take our food and leave. When getting in our car, we saw a woman standing in the small alley way between both buildings smoking pot. The smell was god awful. As we were pulling out, we noticed she walked into the Wax Werks building and both of us were pretty sure she was an employee, or if not, the owner herself. I personally think this sets a very bad example for a business, and I think this person had a lot of nerve doing this so freely in public, out in front of the business. Not only can this put a company at risk if this employee gets hurt on the job while under the influence, but I think it can be very dangerous for customers getting waxxing done with this person being under the influence. I just wanted to pass my feedback along since the owner chose to never respond back to me. Enter at your own risk!

Booking online was super easy, and I really appreciated receiving a reminder text before our appointments. As soon as we arrived, we were immediately greeted and taken back right away--no waiting around! Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We were each given a menu of pedicure options along with a cocktail menu, and I absolutely love that your first drink is complimentary. This review is 100% honest and I have pictures to show. I have, once again, blocked her number. She is also the owner of the salon and this speaks volumes of their service. No customer should be threatened and harassed over and over again for leaving an honest review. Update. After writing this review I have received 11 harassing texts from Stephanie (the lash artist). I simply asked she be professional and also to respect my privacy and leave me alone. This has been the worst experience ever! The second picture is 2 weeks after I got the lashes. It has been so incredibly painful. Meh. After driving up to what looked like the most janky building in Tucson I wasn't surprised to see the quality of the interior. The whole placed smelled of mildew. The lash quality looks good, but I could feel chunks of glue hitting my lower lash area when I closed my eyes. It's REALLY uncomfortable. The lashes started falling out the first day. I took extra care of them, but they kept falling out. I washed them gently with baby soap and huge chunks of glue came off. I'm kind of glad to have them fall out quickly because it was just painful having them on. I had Stephanie, and I'm sure she usually does a great job, but I'm sorry to say I wasn't impressed.

She uses glue that lasts and lashes that are simply beautiful. I always get the classic lashes, but I've seen her hybrid and volume lashes, and they are marvelous. I see her about every 3 weeks. Her prices are very competitive and the quality is the best I've found. I wholeheartedly recommend you go see her if you want to get lashes for a special occasion or like me just do them on the regular. I always thought the expense was too much and even said out loud I'd never afford to do lashes for $60-something every 3-4 weeks, but I did it once and I'm hooked. And it's worth it! It saves SO much time getting ready in the mornings. I rarely use any makeup anymore because they create such a nice natural look. You have to brush the lashes and take care of them, but now that I've worked them into my lifestyle and budget, I plan to keep doing them for a while.
