I love coming here although it can be a little pricy. I've tried many different salons but I always come back to this one because they seem to be the only ones to get it right! If I get a regular pedi and gel manicure it can cost around $65. (BUT, if you pay in cash you get a small discount of 3% I believe) it may not seem like a lot but definitely helps with the tip. I normally try to make appointments with Mimi but really anyone there will do. I recently tried the SNS and I don't think I'll ever go back. It cost $45 I believe but they last a long time. I haven't gotten my nails done in 3-4 weeks and I only need to change it because my nails have grown out so much (before and after pics attached) all I've really done is pushed my cuticles back. There's also a crack on my index because I was squeezing my finger while bored at work lol Really if you would like a good job done and don't mind spending a few more bucks, COME HERE! read more

I went here in the beginning of September to get a pedicure and full set manicure. Those services were fine, honestly a little overpriced for the quality but I wasn't unhappy with anything. The bad experience came when I needed to get the acrylics removed, as I just don't have the time to maintain them the way I thought I would. I was always told by friends and family that acrylic removal was easy and they would be soaked off like gel polish. Well, the technician quite literally ripped them off of my nails. She took a new nail tip from a container, shoved it underneath the acrylic nail and ripped them off. I got that done about 3 weeks ago and my natural nail has been completely wrecked ever since. Luckily they're growing out way healthier but honestly make sure to advocate for yourself and the service you expect when you go here. I didn't know any better at the time and wish I had spoken up before she performed the removal. read more

I am typically not one to leave a bad review, I don't like to let one bad visit put a stain on my view of an entire establishment. With this in mind, I do NOT recommend Hollywood Nails. My two friends and I made appointments here after school to get our nails done for prom that upcoming weekend. All of our friends had gone to Hollywood Nails and praised their kind staff and beautiful nails. Upon first entering, the woman at the front greeted us kindly and let us sit down to look at the gel selection as we all came in for acrylic full sets. After sitting down with the women who were to do our nails we were ALL met with nothing but rudeness and obvious disrespect. I had never had acrylic nails done before so I was slightly tense. The woman doing my nails continued to scoff and complain to me about how I would not relax my hands, even once sitting back in her chair refusing to continue to do my nails while angrily staring at me. I was nothing but kind to this woman expressing to her before beginning the process that I had never had acrylics. She was gripping my hands violently even hitting my skin with the grinding tool because she exercised an absolute lack of effort to giving me a good experience. Furthermore, I asked her multiple times for a rounder nail shape which she REFUSED to do. The shape of my nails were awful and they were TERRIBLY THICK! All of our nails were LUMPY, THICK, and TERRIBLY SHAPED. They looked absolutely terrible and we all immediately went to another salon to pay $25 to have them fixed (fixed image also posted). My friends all had the exact same experience despite having gotten acrylics numerous times before and having different women than I. We all wanted refunds but were genuinely too scared of our rude nail technicians to go in and ask for them. Truly disappointed. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I have been going here for about 8 months and I notice how they never honor appointment times. Well today was the last straw. I was ignored when it was time to get my nails done. And when I spoke up about my appointment time they told me five minutes. There was supposedly only one lady there who could do my nails as I wanted a marble design. Well they should have told me that they couldn't accommodate me and I would have rescheduled or went somewhere else. A lady named Jesse started on my nails because the other woman who does marble nails had a client. Jesse had no idea what she was doing and I left out of there with a white gel set. I am livid and felt my time has been wasted. I told Jesse I was not paying for something I didn't ask for. She never apologized for her incompetence nor tried to make it right. I would never go back. I also feel like when the owner is not around, Kate, that they do what they want. I hate to say it but when Kate is not around is when my appointments are not honored. My regular nail salon was all booked up, so I decided to give this salon a try. The pedicure turned out well, but the technician scrubbed the tops of my feet so hard with the buffer that they were sensitive to touch and had rug burns for a few days afterward. She also stopped to watch the news on TV every few minutes which I found a bit irritating, like she wasn't paying full attention. When we moved onto the manicure, she had a really tough time getting my old gel off my nails. After about 30 minutes I felt really awkward because she kept insisting that I had some sort of weird gel on my nails, though at my regular salon it comes off quickly and easily. Once we got through that ordeal, she accidentally cut the skin around one of my fingers to the point it bled and stung. As she moved onto the polish, I felt like I had to point out to her the places where she missed a spot or an air bubble was forming and an additional coat was needed. All in all, my manicure and pedicure would have ended up being totally adequate had it not been for the subpar service and lacking attention to detail, specifically the skin damage. While my technician did try to be friendly, it just wasn't enough to salvage the experience for me. In the days after my visit I noticed multiple other small cuts around my finger nails that began to scab up and have a sensitivity to hot water, which confirmed that I would not recommend this salon. read more

I was in the area and in need of a new set. I didn't have time to go to my normal salon so I figure I would give a new place a shot. I should have known better because I am rather particular about my grooming lol. I got a full set of gel with white tips. At my normal shop, my nails last me no less than 3 weeks. It gives me time to not be in the shop non stop and actually live my crazy busy life. I waited two weeks to write this review and I am already in dire need of a refill. They look terrible :( The main frustration was the nail tech shaped the tips and beds of my nails to have a flatter appearance vs. rounded and more feminine. You definitely get what you pay for. This isn't exactly the cheapest place to get your nails done but they certainly do a great job at it every time. Tracy is my go-to nail tech and I love how she does my nails perfectly and flawlessly! Book for weekday appointments and avoid the weekend or holiday rush so the nail techs have all the time to work with you. I love how they have tv's inside so you can pretty much watch from every angle of the salon and never get bored with the typical oriental spa music. I have been coming here for years and Amy has always taken care of my nail needs. Everyone is super nice and helpful. I have been seen by different techs for my pedicures and they are all great. They have working massage chairs and TVs on the wall for you to watch while getting your nails done. They even have refreshments at the front for you. Even though they were fully booked per their online website I called and they said I could come in at my requested time. I waited quite a while and the nail tech rushed since more customers started to show up, but she was super nice. My nails had dip powder and were long naturally (I was so proud because they are never this long, my last nail tech was great) I asked to get them cut, but not all the way. I still wanted length. Instead of using acetone to remove my dip powder safely without ruining my real nails, to save time, she took them off using a fake nail to go underneath the dip powder and ended up ripping off my real nails along with it. I asked for dip powder only, but then she added the liquid monomer along with the dip powder since the color I originally chose wasn't going to turn out the same color that was on the sample nail color selections. It turned out nice looking in the end, however it wasn't what I asked for, plus my real nails weren't long anymore and now I have to start over to get them long again. I will stick with my original nail salon even though it costs more since my nails lasted a long time and they don't use liquid monomer with their dip powder which I'm not a fan of because it ruins my nail beds, makes my nails extremely sore for a day, and difficult to remove. read more

There is an older female employee at this salon that I believe, is exhibiting COViD-19 like symptoms. She went into the bathroom several times to cough, and then walked right back out, and I didn't hear the faucet run. Her cough is very heavy and bronchial. The shop has taken many precautions, such as requiring masks during services, spacing customers out, not having customers waiting, and barriers at the pedi chairs and manicure stations. But I feel as though this one possibly sick employee is putting the staff and customers at risk while coming to work sick. read more

My daughter and I were looking for someplace to get our nails done that was open past 6pm on a Sunday and Google had this salon listed. Unfortunately when we arrived, we realized that the Sunday hours on Google were incorrect and it closed at 5pm. I have been going to Hollywood Nails for the past 5 years (even when under a different owner) and been seen by Jade since day one. Unlike some of the other reviewers on here, I believe "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I lived in Fairfax when I first started going and when I moved to Gainesville area in 2012, I continued going there. Amy is an amazing, personable and accommodating owner and Jade..well what can I say, she's the best. Shortly after going there, Jade began to recognize what my "style" was as far as my silk nails were concerned and it made it much easier for me to go in, relax and let her do her job. Unlike at most shops, I have NEVER been badgered to get waxings (or any other service) done. I will intentionally go early if I know that time will be limited when I'm "due" and Jade will find a way to make time. I would like to say that I am "special" when it comes to being a customer at Hollywood Nails but as much as I am there (about every 3 weeks) I see other customers being given the same service. I see their technicians remembering certain personal events, family member names and them being given the same carefree relaxing treatment afforded to me. For those that preferred their "other" shop or their "other" technician, I think i would feel the same way if I had to go to another shop or technician besides Hollywood Nails and Jade. Getting nails, waxing, pedicures etc is a very personal service and once you've clicked with someone, it's hard for anyone to measure up to the PERSONAL service you've received in the past. If this was your first time, I recommend you speaking to Amy to clear up issues. She's friendly, approachable and definitely not just out to take your money without ensuring you have been given QUALITY service. read more

My usual nail place was closed on Sunday, so I came to Hollywood Nails. My nail tech (wish I had gotten her name) was extremely thorough, was very meticulous, and had great attention to detail. She was super sweet, and my nails came out looking great. Nail removal + a fresh set of acrylics with white tips was $40. Got my eyebrows waxed as well for $10, and the same nail tech was just as meticulous w my brows as she was with my nails. Loved her! read more

Came here on a whim today for a mani/ pedi around 4:30pm. I was seated right away and had the pleasure of Tony doing my nails. Great pedicure and manicure with massage. OPI Big Apple Red is looking marvelous! Tony did a great job that wasn't rushed or sloppy. Pricing was fair as well , $35.00. Try them out, you wont be disappointed. I took one star away because they could use some updated chairs/remodel. If the mani/pedi is class then Im not worried about how the salon looks. read more

If you want your nails done in a clean, friendly enviornment with first class service this is the nail salon for you. Unlike other salons, all the women there speak english and more importantly there is no shit talking in vietnamese. The back of the salon is clean and well kept and the kitchen area does not reek of feet and week old cabbage.
