When you do dip powder nails, do you dip into the jar? Do you use UV light to cure it? Edit: what I mean is does every customer dip their nails into the same jar, or do you pour the powder into a separate container for each customer?

The inside has the standard massage chairs you'd expect, the vibe is very "chill and do your own thing," and I'm sure you could ask for tea or whatever else you need. I got a pedicure at the beginning of March (and I know I'm due for another one soon!), but get this: I just got regular polish--no gel or anything--and the color is still completely on my toenails! If you ask me, that is quality. Definitely worth it. If you're in a pinch or just in the area, go ahead and hit this spot. They will not disappoint!

I love Hollywood Nails! They are clean, professional and the salon has a positive and airy vibe. While I recommend any of the nail techs, I absolutely adore Hanna! I have been a regular client of hers for the past year, and I must say that she is one of the best nail techs I've ever gone to. She always manages to exceed my expectations, and her work is simply flawless. I have been getting dip nails and have been able to grow my nails longer than I ever imagined since I started doing my nails with Hanna. Whether it's a simple French manicure or an intricate design, Hanna always delivers outstanding results. Hanna is also a delight to be around. Would give zero or even less stars if I could. Worst nail service I've ever gotten. Couldn't get that person's name but it's not like the manager was very nice about it either. She cut a piece of my nail from the side(which didn't need to be cut) and then pulled it and it was hurting so I asked her to stop. She said I could talk to the manager and then I told the manager that I didn't wanna get it done from this person anymore so the manager proceeds to say "what do u wanna do now" in the most rude tone I've heard!! like hello? it was your fault not mine that you can't even cut my nails the right way and you call yourself a nail artist! And the fact that she said "oh it's not bleeding" well yeah it's not bleeding just yet but it's hurting and I clearly tell that it's about to. I mean do u want me to wait till it does to tell u to stop? Also, it did start bleeding in a couple so think about what you say next time and don't be so rude to your customers! Would not recommend going to this place if you love your nails even the tiniest bit, they are ridiculously rude and for no reason that too. read more

So I'm here in VA Visiting from Texas. My daughter and I decided to go get our nails done. So being that we're all new to the Fairfax area she Googled looking for a place to do our nails. we went to the 1st place and it was one thing after another that they could not accommodate with the Nail Tech to do the color or the color for that matter. So we laughed we then went and Google it again in add it brought us to Hollywood nails! They had all we needed. We were treated do kindly from Kate and Cindy were the best. I didn't get the name of the guy that didn't my tonio Polish change but she was so good as well. Highly recommend. And the price was good. For a full gel set with 3D flowers, a fill with design and pearls and a toe polish change was about $140 ... !! Shoot in Texas Where I'm from that would have cost well over $200. Love this place! My daughter's new nail place and for me I WILL definitely be back next year when I visit again! Thank you ladies you're the best!! read more

OMG!!!!! This nail salon is SUPER clean, very nice decor and the staff is very professional and skillful. Very sweet also. They take their time to take care of their customers, not rude like other nail places that I have experienced before if you know what I am talking about. They have a lot of OPI colors to choose from. I love it! I have to agree with Alan about the bathroom. It's sanitary clean. I am very picky when it comes to use public restrooms especially in some of the nail salons. And I also agree with Tara about Human connection. I am very impressed! They asked me to write my name, DOB and address down so they will send me a gift certicate for my birthday coming up. I did not think this salon could ever disappoint but unfortunately it did. I went for a mani pedi with cindy and made an appointment, i was definitely not paired with cindy. i wish i remembered the woman's name who did the service but she did a horrific job!! The polish on my toes are streaky and i kept asking her to clean up the edges, still messy. i was left with a ton of very painful hangnails. she did not moisturize or exfoliate my hands, didn't cut my cuticles, and wouldn't cut my nails even when i asked her to several times.. she also filed my nails very crooked. i asked for french tips, she didn't know how to do those. shocking that a nail tech can't do something so basic. olivia came in and did the french version tips. at the register, i should have asked for a refund but i did not leave a tip. in return, olivia showed me a bit of attitude about that. I was browsing on yelp for a nail salon since my old nail technician for the past 16 years moved a little further away. I found Hollywood Nails on Yelp and viewed photos of Kate's work. About three months ago, I decided to try Kate out, and I haven't looked back since. I am by far the most indecisive individual ever regarding my nails and toes, and she's always so patient and creative. There have been numerous times where the staff has come together to assist, and I love it! I've also had fantastic work done by Amy and Cindy! I went here today and the most amazing experience. The working staff were incredibly sweet and funny and made sure I liked every step of my nails before moving on. The staff really listen to you and are super talented. They also made sure I knew I can bring in inspiration pictures next time I come and they'll be able to do the designs for me. I love this nail salon and have been going for years. They recently updated the décor and installed new pedicure massage chairs which is really nice. A coworker recommending trying dip nails so I gave it try. Tracy did a fantastic job and I am loving them. They make my natural nails harder so they can grow longer. I love my Saturday morning splurge and get a spa pedicure & dip manicure every three weeks. The only negative I have is not for the salon but other customers who come in on their phones and talk loudly while they are sitting right beside you. I am there to relax and be pampered which is impossible to do when others are being disrespectful. read more

I usually don't write reviews, but I do, it's because of my experience was of the highest quality. All ladies are sweetest ladies. They take the time to make sure that you are happy with the work, and will remember their regulars. I always get my pedi/mani when I come, and while my nails will grow out, the color itself will last upwards of 3 weeks, it's amazing! You get your money's worth and more. The salon is very clean and quiet. Call ahead just to make sure they have a seat for you I've recommended my friends and family to try this place and everyone so far has fallen in love. I went here today with my mom and a friend of mine. It was nice we didn't have to wait but it would have been nice if they could have sat us all together, instead we were all separated throughout the room, but that's not a big deal. I like my new gel set however it was a bit rounder than I would have liked. The cost wasn't too bad for my mom's shellac french tips and my full gel set with french tips it was 90 plus tip. They were quick and very nice. The one complaint I would have is they kept pushing for my friend to get a brow wax and a pedicure and same with my mom. I didn't have that happen but the other two were very disturbed by this. read more

I was recommended this nail salon by a friend so I gave it a try. Their pedicures are really nice and well done. Other pedicures I have gotten done at other places often hurt because they are so aggressive but this place did a nice job at being gentle while maintaining the quality. I got my acrylics done here as well but I didn't like the way they were done the first time and so one of the workers named Kate was kind enough to give me her number to text her the next day to fix my nails. I've been coming to Hollywood nails for about 2 months now after trying many different nail salons. I'm super picky with my nails because my fingers are a little crooked and it seemed like no one could shape the nails correctly. Kate has been amazing she always makes sure I'm 100% satisfied with my nail shape and the color. I always bring in a picture and she makes it look exactly like the picture. My boyfriend has gotten a lot of pedicures at different places and he also says this is his favorite place for a pedicure. They take their time and all of the ladies are very nice and gentle. This salon is amazing! First time ever getting acrylics and had an amazing experience. The details of the design were on point and extremely intricate. Amy did the nails and Kate did the design. Both were amazing and would definitely recommend for any service. I could tell they had lots of experience and were super skilled. You can't even tell the nails are fake and the design was perfect! I recently moved to the area a few months ago and was still traveling to MD to get my nails done until my nail tech left. I was forced to find a new salon and found Hollywood nails not too far from my house. I have been on 2 separate occasions now and they have exceeded my expectations both times. I got my nails by Jesse and I don't know how I was surviving before without her. She is focuses on the needs of the customer and is very informative. This salon offers only gel colors and coats their SNS nails with an SNS top coat instead of gel (who even knew this existed!). My nails went from lasting 2 weeks to a month. read more

Went to Hollywood Nails & Spa today with a girlfriend to get the best mani/pedi ever... price was great for the package which included a mini massage and paraffin wax. They have a good choice of OPI colors to choose from (says the girlfriend). The staff is very kind and (very important) was not in a hurry. Another thing that caught my eye was this place was super clean.. even the bathroom. Other places use their bathrooms like another means of storage. Excellent salon!!! I came to this nail salon at the recommendation of my friend because her older sister works here, Mimi. I had Yessica (don't know how her name is spelled) as my nail tech and she is very nice and very gentle on the hands. I asked for this cute french tip mail design that I found on tiktok and she copied it almost exactly as the picture. She did a really good job. Best nail salon in Fairfax. I have been going to Hollywood Nails for the past few months and they never falter. Yes sometimes they can be busy and you will have to wait even with a scheduled appointment but they will always take care of you. For example, I waited 20 minutes for an appointment and the staff apologize to me and offered me a discount as they do acknowledge their faults. No courtesy call before having me drive there and rearrange my day. What made the situation especially frustrating was that I had an important appointment afterward and specifically made time for this service because one of my nails was broken and painful. Instead, I was left scrambling last minute to find another salon after my confirmed appointment was essentially canceled in person. As a long time paying client, the way this was handled felt dismissive, disrespectful, and incredibly poorly managed. If a nail tech does not wish to take a client, that should be communicated before the client arrives not after changing their appointment time and having them sit in the salon. I remained respectful and calm when I left, but I genuinely have never experienced something handled this unprofessionally at a salon before. I'm so glad I found them. First, Tracy's work holds up really, really well. Her prep work is meticulous, and it shows. I've had acrylics, dip powder, and various things in between over the years, and my natural nails are healthier now than they have ever been while regularly wearing nail enhancements. Tracy also does an amazing job with shaping. I have very large nail beds on very large hands, and somehow she makes my fingers look elegant rather than huge--which I appreciate more than I can say. She has a great eye for color and for the little extras, too--chrome, finishes, combinations, etc. She knows what will look good together and what will actually be flattering on me. She'll encourage me to try something new or get a little outside my comfort zone, but she is never pushy. I've learned to trust her eye, and some of the things I probably wouldn't have chosen on my own have turned out to be favorites. Eight months in, the quality has been consistently excellent. Tracy is skilled, careful, creative, and just really good at what she does. I feel very lucky to have found her.

After almost 20 years of being a loyal customer, I never thought I would be leaving a review like…read morethis. Since the change in management, the quality of service has gone completely downhill. The experience felt rushed from the moment I walked in--like they were trying to get me in and out as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, the rushing showed in the work. My nails were different sizes and lengths, and when I asked for them to be corrected, instead of actually addressing the issue, the owner told me she had enough experience to know how to do them without measuring. Experience is great, but the finished result should speak for itself--and in this case, it didn't. I had no time to go somewhere else to have them fixed, so I was stuck leaving with nails I was unhappy with. What makes this even more disappointing is that I trusted this place for nearly 20 years. Because I knew the previous owner and had always received great service, I genuinely believed I would continue getting that same quality. I was very wrong. And to add insult to injury, the service was ridiculously expensive for the quality of work I received. If I'm going to pay that kind of money, I expect the service to be worth it--and this absolutely was not. After two decades of loyalty, I expected better. Instead, I felt rushed, dismissed, and completely disappointed with the final result. This was my last visit. Twenty years of loyalty ended with one of the most disappointing experiences I've had at a nail salon. I will not be returning, and I absolutely will not be recommending this place to anyone. High prices can be justified when the quality and service are there. In this case, neither was.

Over the years I've seen several talented techs, but Nicky is my absolute go-to--and she is AMAZING! Nicky is incredibly talented, creative, and so detail-oriented. I can bring her an idea, show her a picture, or sometimes just let her run with it, and she nails it every single time! I've taken so many pictures of my nails throughout the year because I'm constantly getting compliments, so I figured it was finally time to share some of my favorites! These are just a handful of the sets Nicky has done, and I could honestly post SO many more. If you're looking for someone who is creative, precise, talented, and takes pride in her work, I cannot recommend Nicky enough! She is truly one of the best, and I'm so happy I found her at Nails Lounge! Six years later, and I still wouldn't go anywhere else!

Quick cat eye gel polish change $45. Which i felt was a little high considering it wasn't a…read moremanicure. I did love my nails though, they did a great job and I've gotten a lot of compliments. They have a significant amount of colors to choose from. I personally haven't gotten extensions or acrylics but that seemed to be a large majority of their clientele. They seemed comfortable with designs and inspiration pics. The only reason I can't give them a 5 was the cleanliness of the salon. I was pretty turned off by the uncleanliness. There was piece of a nail, dust, and residue all over the tables and nail polishes.
