I've been coming here for about four years and the technical work is consistently excellent. My favorite tech is both talented and a pleasure to talk to. The Bad: The furniture is in "gross" condition. The pedicure chairs have large stains and dried wax on the footrests, but the tech stools are the worst--the vinyl is ripped to shreds. My tech actually has to cover the stool with a towel so the torn material doesn't scrape my skin. The Verdict: For a place that brands itself as "Austin's Original Upscale Nail Salon," the lack of maintenance is disappointing. This is a premium-priced salon, yet the equipment is falling apart. The owners need to invest in repairs to match the high quality of their staff's work.

The only particularity I had was that the nail technician be aware of the blister on my toe. After I requested that she avoid that spot, she continued to rub her finger over it, neglecting any focus of being gentle or taking her time. I had a different technician for my finger nails and both seemed rushed and their communication with me was demeaning. I also came with a friend who received a pedicure from a man who continually rubbed her legs up past the knee, under her mid-thigh shorts (Which is highly inappropriate in this profession unless requested). She made it aware that she was uncomfortable and the employee continued to massage past the knee towards upper thigh, making eye contact, contributing to the demeaning atmosphere of the salon. I could list a few other concerns, however I do not want this business to tank, I only hope they change most things about their appropriateness and attentiveness. Mothers of young children, please consider the inappropriate behavior of the male nail technician in case you are considering taking your kids for a pedicure.
