The head vet, Linda, really tries to build a welcoming atmosphere, is extremely personable, and amazing with animals. She really tries to explain what is going on with your pet and will work with you to ensure you are getting the care you want for your furry friends. She has trained at Cornell and has a great working relationship with them, so I really feel like I'm getting great care for an affordable price. Because of that relationship, some of the lab work gets sent to Cornell and she also is not afraid to send serious cases to them. The rest of the staff is also awesome, from the front desk to the lab techs -- I feel they really care about your experience. They also have a boarding facility, which I have used -- I would recommend it. The staff is, again, really amazing and they get to know your pets so well. I recently called Adana's office to arrange for cremation of my cat (20 y/o) who had died at home the previous night. Following is a summary of my exchange with the staff member who picked up my call. They did not identify themselves. - I gave my name and explained my business - The staff member offered no condolences and asked quite abruptly, "Did you prepare the body?" - When I asked what they meant, they asked whether I had put the body in the freezer. - I had not thought to do that - In a belligerent tone, the staff member then asked whether I was telling them that I had left "the animal" out all this time with all the heat blowing around on "it" - I explained that I had wrapped him in a towel and placed him in a box in a spare bedroom - Again very abruptly I was instructed that I could not bring "the animal" (my sweet kitty who gave only purrs and cuddles his whole life) in through the front and that I must go in and pay first then drive around to the back of the clinic and they would pick "it" up there. My motivation for writing about this conversation was to prepare others for the kind of staff treatment they could expect at Adana. I cannot begin to imagine how toxic this person would have been to a pet owner newly devastated by the loss of a beloved companion. I hasten to add that the reception staff with whom I interacted in-person later that day were empathetic, gentle, and kind, and I felt that my furry family member of 20 years had been left in competent hands.

Here's why. We had our dog in there for a routine checkup and vaccinations after adopting him in 2019. All went well. One of the vaccines required a booster two weeks later. Much to our surprise, we were charged a full office visit ($45) fee for literally a 30 second visit to administer a booster shot. I have never experienced such a thing in my decades of tending to my pets' needs. If you want top notch care, sure ... visit Adana. If you have the money and can be raked over the coals and don't mind being nickel-and-dimed, then this is the vet for you. Needless to say, we will not be back.

Alexandra Yiambilis (who I do not consider a vet doctor or a human being) lied to me and to the team taking care of my sweet cat and pushed for euthanasia on the phone even before I met her. When I first spoke with her on the phone and asked how my cat was doing and if her diarrhea was better, she barked back, "I don't care about your cat's diarrhea." I should have known something was wrong with her then and that she didn't care about my sweet cat or me. She had an agenda from the beginning and lied to achieve it. I saw no other vet doctors besides Alexandra Yiambilis and she just graduated from vet school. She was cold, cruel, and lacked any empathy. She mentioned she puts all her animals down when the time comes. She could have not been more than 25-26 years old. I mourn every day since my sweet cat's passing. My sweet girl was sick with lymphoma. I did not care about the money. Alexandra Yiambilis mentioned in her cruel tone, "No one else is going to help you" and "I'm not going to do anything else for your cat." Alexandra Yiambilis said I was wasting resources on my cat and the first time I met her (she never introduced herself), she wanted to quantify ever bit of treatment given (e.g., "A blood transfusion would be waste of resources for your cat."). She was talking about my beloved cat. She didn't realize IV fluids could affect a red blood cell count and diagnosed a seizure that never happened. I know everyone has to learn in a profession, but unfortunately Alexandra Yiambilis is allowed to run unchecked with her cruelty, condescension, and poor diagnostic skills. I am saddened that my sweet cat was taken from me by this cruel individual Alexandra Yiambilis. Alexandra Yiambilis obviously went into the wrong profession. Pursuing treatment would have not killed my cat because she was a strong girl. Lack of proper treatment and care and compassion killed my cat. Nothing can take back the cruelty given to my cat and me by Alexandra Yiambilis. And nothing will bring her back.

Some things that they offer are nail clippings, vaccines (shots), exams, X-rays, they can prescribe all sorts of medicines if needed, emergency visits, over night kenneling, dental exams, surgeries, neuter/spay, and humane euthanasia. If they don't offer something they can connect you to someone who does. They are very flexible and I have had to bring in several dogs and one cat in for an emergency before (on different occasions) and they were very timely and professional about each interaction. If it was an emergency, they would insist on bringing them in immediately. The majority of the staff is women which was very helpful because my rescue dog (pit bull) was working through a fear of men at the time. All of the vets here are very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Dr. Clifford especially stood out to me in a positive way because of how she interacted with my pit bull. My pit bull was anxious and did not want to get up on the table, Dr. Clifford got down on the floor with him for the rest of the exam and this instantly put him at ease. I know that sometimes the front desk people can come off as rude and everyone has bad moments but it's a stressful job!! We had to change vets after a few years of repeat issues. - They don't seem to keep good records of the meds they give, always asking me if I'm still giving a medicine that we stopped years ago, I correct them every time. - We needed blood tests and they took the wrong amount so had to do it twice. - I made an appointment for a bump on my boxer's arm, it was covid times so I had to wait outside. They sent her back with a clean bill of health, I asked about it again and they asked "What bump?" (it was the size of an egg on her right front leg). -They charged me for a yearly checkup again 4 months later and when I called to ask, they told me it was required. - After a year of sluggish behavior and a couple visits, we eventually researched enough ourselves to suggest thyroid, they confirmed with a test and got him on meds - They won't give me enough meds to get me to my new vet's appointment date.
