Our whole family had an AMAZING time at the coconut farm with Ryan! It was our favorite experience on the island. They have a beautiful homestead there and Ryan was an incredible teacher (and cook!). His knowledge is impressive, and his passion is inspiring. Thank you, Ryan for allowing us into your little slice of heaven. We will be back!

Fresh coconut milk is really amazing!

Not only for the scenery, but our driver "Surfer Sue". Sue was friendly, fun and quite knowledgeable telling us all sorts of interesting things about the road and Maui itself. He's incredibly knowledgeable about Maui, from the island's history to the rainforest, wildlife, plants, trees, and fruits we saw along the way. We were constantly learning as we drove, which made the experience feel rich and meaningful rather than just a scenic drive. The Road to Hana can be intimidating, but Genaro made it feel effortless. His driving was calm, smooth, and confident, and we felt completely safe the entire time getting there and back. He knew exactly where to stop, paced the day perfectly, and took us to some truly stunning spots. It rained most of the day for us, which is just part of being in the rainforest, but it didn't take away from the experience at all. Genaro kept the energy positive, fun, and engaging throughout the long day. He's very personable and genuinely enjoyable to spend time with. One thing I really appreciated was that he kept saying, "this is your tour." He made sure we stopped at places that mattered to us. I really wanted to go to Aunt Sandy's for banana bread, and Genaro made it happen. That level of flexibility and care made the day feel personal. Between the incredible views, the education along the way, the safe and comfortable drive, and Genaro's personality, this was one of the highlights of my time in Maui. I would highly recommend doing the Road to Hana with Temptation Tours, and if you can, ask for Genaro Padilla. It was a very special experience.

I had no idea that the travel agency business was still alive! While you could plan your own…read morevacation, why not leave it up to professionals that have the contacts, connections and knowledge? PLANNING: Our professional was Kathy. My spouse contacted her stating we wanted to see South America, mainly Machu Picchu. Kathy put together a wonderful two week itinerary to Brazil, Argentina and Peru, taking care of the airline bookings, hotels, private tours, airport transfers, and attraction tickets. After reading through what she put together, we were able to make any changes we wanted, no problem. Brazil was the only country that required a visa which Kathy helped us obtain. The questionnaire was a bit quirky, but Kathy helped us tremendously via email communication and scanned documents. So simple! She zipped our passports over to the visa office in San Francisco and got them to us back lickety split. Once we approved everything, Kathy sent us a detailed, professional e-itinerary which was also visible on an app called My TripRoute. Dates, times and durations were all listed. Condor Travel was the agency hired by Captivating Journeys for our airport transfers and private tours in all three countries we visited. OUR JOURNEY: While on our journey Kathy emailed us often, checking to make sure everything was going well, which they were. We also received automated emails for flight reminders and even the numerous gate changes we encountered. Unbelievable! In Rio de Janeiro, we visited most of the highlights including Christ The Redeemer and Sugarloaf. We were booked at the Miramar Windsor on Copacabana Beach which turned out to be a surprisingly nice place and centrally located. In Buenos Aires we visited the Recoleta cemetery where María Eva Duarte de Perón is interred in her family's mausoleum, Casa Rosada, took in a tango dinner show and even an empanada making class. We declined staying at the Sofitel Buenos Aires and instead upgraded to the Four Seasons which was simply incredible. Once landing in Lima, Peru we immediately flew to Cusco and stayed at the Inkaterra La Casona, an all-suite boutique hotel located 11,000 feet up in the Andes. We toured the Sacred Valley, several Inca ruins, salt pools and archeological sites before checking in to a suite at the Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba, another incredible property. We upgraded from the basic Peru Rail to the Belmont Hiram Bingham train for our journey to Machu Picchu where we checked in to the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel and into yet another suite. We visited the gem of Machu Picchu and hiked up Machu Picchu Mountain to its 10,043 foot peek. After flying back to Lima, we checked in to the JW Marriott (instead of the Casa Andina). Our last tour was a wonderful gastronomic tour of Lima via the Lima Gourmet Company, where we drank locally-grown coffee and fruit smoothis, sampled unique and GMO-free fruits, made our own pisco sour drinks and ceviche, ending with a delicious Peruvian lunch. We had ZERO problems on our memorable journey. Once home, we received a nice postcard from Kathy with a note and a picture of us that we emailed to her while away. What a nice touch! OVERALL: Thorough communication, unparalleled service from Kathy, delightful itinerary. Absolutely, positively, unequivocally RECOMMENDED!

I could tell he was conversing to get an idea of my interest and skill level to explore the beautiful island of Maui. He communicated regularly to provide ideas of the for to customize the data to our wants and energy. He was prompt with everything, from calling, giving us updates on the route(as weather will affect the day), and showing up. Tour: everything met or exceeded our expectations. Willie took us to a couple away areas where, I think, he was assessing our hiking skills. From there he provided suggestions which he, successfully assessed, we could accomplish. Willie consistently provided the history and explanations of the area as we toured. Explorer areas: Willie brought us to a variety of locations. He is respectful of the island and the culture. I observed others providers who, I feel, were not as courteous to the local family owned vendors or tour operators. Willie was courteous, while still assuring we had a good time.

I've done the Road to Hana tour before, and had a great experience but it was on a bigger tour trip. We had an amazing tour guide that time, but I came this time with my FIANCÉ and his mom who have never been to Hawaii and I was afraid if we got a boring tour guide, it would be a LONG day. I started looking on Yelp in hopes it would help me narrow down the best of the best and that it absolutely did. I saw the raves about Willie and knew it was going to be worth every penny. Willie called me to talk about what we wanted to get out of our trip, and he also checked back in the day before to reiterate details about where to meet, etc. We told him we really wanted to see beautiful waterfalls and some cool secret, less touristy spots. We began our drive and Willie pulled off on this little beach, and said he wanted to show us something. We walked down, and there were sea turtles all over the beach which just made my MIL's day right off the bat. Then we went to the most delicious breakfast spot I have ever been to, hands down. All along the way, he told us about the areas we were driving through, the weather there, and gave us cool little tidbits of information. We went to the Garden of Eden where to my surprise, I got ENGAGED! Willie was so sweet and so happy for us, hugs all around. He truly made that moment, and the whole day really feel like we were with a friend we'd known forever. We went to the most amazing, secret waterfall and got to swim in the swimming hole and jump off rocks with no one else around! This was the absolute most beautiful spot I've ever been in my life and we never would've found it on our own or without Willie. Anyways, we did so much and there are so many details I could share but I would write a book if I shared the entire 11 hour day with you! I won't ruin all the surprises for you, but all I can say is I will never do another tour on Maui without him. Don't hesitate to book, just do it and don't go with any other company. He's truly the best!
