While my bride was busy taking the lead with everything wedding related, I took charge of the honeymoon. We didn't want to be overly planned, but we didn't want to lounge by the pool all day, nor the ocean. Kauai is after all a magical place with beautiful scenery. I had googled images of Kauai when we first started to consider our honeymoon. What came up most frequently were these stunning mountains, valleys, and ocean views. Only later did I discover that these were almost all images of the Napoli Coast on the western side of the island. My hotel was very proactive in helping me plan our activities. In one of our email exchanges, I mentioned we'd be interested in taking a boat up the coast so we could snorkel.They wrote back that they'd arrange it with Holo Holo. Coincidentally, the company was also highly recommended by our guidebook. Everyday in Hawaii, we got up early because of the time difference. It was no struggle to make the early start time. We were on their smaller boat with a nice crowd of people, who seemed friendly, but really were just wrapped up in our own world. The views from the boat were jaw-dropping, stunning wildlife (dolphins!), and a fun time teaching my sweetie how to snorkel. The 5 hour trip was just right. The food was ok, nothing special. I really liked going down the slide into the water. And, this is probably why we didn't see as many fish while we stuck our heads underwater and tried to breathe through a plastic tube. The crew was very friendly. They seemed like they were having a good time. We really liked being on top of the tarps in front and bouncing with the waves. My only regret is that there wasn't any wind so they didn't use the sail. So if you're staying in Poipu and you want a really wonderful cruise with a tremendous view, seek at Holo Holo Charters. My BF and I really enjoyed our 4 hour tour. We took the tour in mid-October which is one of the seasons you should avoid touring because your chances of snorkeling could be slim due to murky water coming in from the heavy tides. The captain was great! we got to explore some cool caves and also got to see many dolphins from the boat. Wish we could've swam with them! My only complaint is the seating. Since there is a smaller boat that takes you out to the tour boat,its first come first serve on the seating arrangements on the tour boat. And unfortunately if you're sitting on the right side of the boat, it's pretty hard to take picture because the people sitting on the left side of the boat don't move and their head is either in your photos or videos lol... Kinda sucks if you're paying almost $200 for a tour lol... You're not getting fair views. Also ours was a morning tour, I would suggest taking the afternoon tour if you want the sun on your side of the photo instead of behind the coast, if you get what I mean lol The lunches were really good. They give out sandwich dressing and the pesto mango dressing was bomb Other than the picture taking, the views were amazing and so was the service! read more

We took the Na Pali Coast & Niihau 7 hr. Super Tour since it was the fastest catamaran and the only one that went out to the Niihau and Lehua islands. Couple things to note: 1) No for the really old or young. I think kids under 6 aren't allowed on the tour. 2) If you get seasick easily, might want to try a slower tour. The boat gets going pretty fast and mixed with some waves it can feel like a rollercoaster. One person got seasick on our tour and the deckhand was kind enough to block us with his body from getting unwanted seconds of lunch. Best place to sit to avoid an ocean shower is behind the wheel head (where the captain sits). 3) The views of the Na Pali coast were breathtaking. The captain was nice enough to let us know the best time to take pictures, and the deckhands were knowledgeable about the island's history. 4) Snorkeling at the forbidden island (Niihau) was so-so. Water was very deep, not much coral or fish, at least compared to snorkeling on Oahu or the Big Island. 5) Best part of the trip beside the views was the pod of humpback whales, like 30 spinner dolphins, family of sea turtles, and monk seal that we saw on the tour. These tours can be hit-or-miss based on the weather, sea life, and number of passengers. The boat holds up to 50 but we only had 19 on our tour. Overall, I'd recommend this tour if you're not afraid of getting wet (heck, you're already in your swimsuit!) and can keep an open mind about what you might see. read more

I went on the sunset NaPali cruise + dinner tour. This company does a great job. The crew is very friendly. We saw several whales and dolphins. It's exactly what's advertised, and I think it's a good value. Also, the dinner was very good - it's advertised as appetizers, but was actually a full meal with spinach lasagna. That being said, 3/6 from my group got seasick, and several others on the trip. We were told beforehand that "most people" don't typically have a problem with the trip - it may have been rougher than normal. However, if you have an inclination towards seasickness, think twice - consider hiking of kayaking. read more

We did the NaPali Sunset Dinner Cruise and loved it!..Kauai's NaPali coast is only visible by air or sea--no roads!..There are no words to describe the beauty. Just get there!..and book it through Holo Holo Charters! The boat carried a small amount of people and that made for awesome service by the crew. Jake and Kama were just so personable and funny..They were always asking if we needed anything and offered a lot of knowledge. Our captain was so very nice and laid back. He was VERY informative and gave instructions on how the tour and the boat ran. Wear casual clothes that can get a bit wet or wear a bathing suit under you stuff just in case you wanna sit at the front of the boat. The best thing about this tour is an OPEN BAR!!!..YESSS! My family and I had an amazing afternoon on the Hola Hola! The crew was fabulous and very professional, smiles always showing. If we needed any thing they were always assisting, they were all lovely. Captain Glen was great and explained everything about the island including a vast knowledge on all the animals who inhabit the area. There is an arch at Honopu (near Kalalau), which is stunning, everything about the Island is dreamlike and pristine.Glen also gave us a mini history lesson about the Hawaiians, and how they used canoes to access the Na Pali's numerous valleys, nearby Ni`ihau and outlying islands. When we came to our destination, after loads and loads of photo taking ( thank god for digital camera's right?) we went snorkeling in the most beautiful shade of navy waters I have ever seen! Kids dove in and had a blast swimming with all the tropical fish, a Monk Seal, some Blackfin sharks ( no they aren;t dangerous) and sea turtles. Breakfast and lunch were fresh and yummy, drinks flowed through the day too. ( beer and wine as well) We will definitely come back next year and take this tour again! Today did not go as expected. Life has a way of throwing hiccups in the plan. Our family of 9 was scheduled to go snorkeling today. Danny Rose was amazing with our family and the sweetest young lady. The captain was hilarious and friendly with his educating speech about boat and snorkeling safety. When we got out the reef, another lady had a seizure and Ian was great helping her with her wounds and medical situation. Captain Wendell and Crew staff DannyRose and Ian handled the emergency quickly and with great care. Even though we didn't get to snorkel I was happy to see that the crew didn't panic and got the lady back safely and no one was hurt or left behind. I'm not a huge fan of spending stupid amounts of money to go sit on a boat and look at the mountains. I told my sister this when she said she wanted to go on a sunset cruise. She said she would pay for it if I was gonna complain. So I let her pay for it and tried to keep an open mind. I won't go through the whole night and every step or anything, but I will sayd I had a great time. The captain was nice and the deckhands were nice as well. I think I fell in love with Kelly as well. The blonde girl with an accent, yikes. Those Mai Tai's she kept handing me wasn't helping either, lol. Regardless, we had a fun trip, lots to drink. Dinner was good. These guys have the charter trip nailed! The boat, the crew, the food, the service - it was all to a tee. We did the 7-hour tour up the Na Pali coast (and back) and then over to Niihau to snorkel. The waves and wind were kicking a bit because we were on the tail-end of a storm. The boat itself is built for these types of conditions. It cut right through the waves at 15-ish knots and the captain maneuvered like the complete pro that he is (bonus that he looks like a silver-fox Ralph Lauren model). Lots of new information was delivered by the crew, even for those of us who have been on the coast several times, and we basically saw every major form of sea life imaginable - dolphins, whales, etc. Believe me, you want to go with this boat for this tour. The Blue Dolphin, which we passed, was moving much slower, was less equipped and looked rockier. I can't stress enough how awesome the crew was at catering to and anticipating every need. Living here and with countless guests, we've been on a ton of charter trips, and it's so common to have a cheesy crew that just get on your nerves with their over-the-top approach. This crew was laid back, yet, very very tuned into what was going on with every guest. Every time you'd walk, there would a mysterious hand would appear behind your back to guide you. They are all locals too, so lots of knowledge about the island in general. For those who weren't feeling the movement of the waves as well as others, they laid out ginger ale, ginger candies and real ginger. The food they served was delish and perfectly timed - we started with a breakfast of pastries, fruit, coffee, hot cocoa, etc. Lunch was a spread with freshly baked local bread and rolls, various meats and cheeses, tons of toppings, pasta salad and warm cookies passed around. They know all of the snorkeling spots around Niihau and pick the best one depending on the weather. You obviously can't pull up on the island. We brought our own gear, but must say I was impressed they even had a wide assortment of vision-correction goggles. The snorkeling was ah-mazing. We were within feet of a monk seal, saw a white-tipped reef shark, a ray and tons of fish. The only downfall is that you're snorkeling with 40+ other people, so get in early. On the way back, they offered free unlimited beer and wine for those of us who were feeling well. Simply an awesome and much recommended trip. I think it was $160 kamaaina and $180 if you weren't. It's a long trip, so worth the moolah. Wouldn't recommend for those prone to seasickness because it's a long time on the water. read more

Ahoy! We booked the sunset dinner cruise and I think it was worth every penny! Holo Holo is one of the cheaper dinner cruises, probably due to their dinner (a healthy array of wraps, salad, and chicken stir fry) but I'd rather pay less and get the full experience just like the other charter companies. You can go anywhere on the island for good food, the purpose of these charters are for the view and sunset. The view of the Na Pali coast is truly breathtaking, a definite must see if you're visiting the island. We were skeptical at first, but glad we decided on it. Unlimited drinks/cocktails and champagne during the sunset. The staff was attentive and very personable. I loved the part where the Captain docked into a cave and we all got a splash from the water fall! 4.5 stars. read more

We had a great time. Beautiful boat, great crew. The Napali Coast is something you have to see from the water to appreciate, otherwise you are hiking into parts of it and not seeing the whole thing anyways. Absolutely beautiful. Captain took the boat right up close to the shore and as close to the caves as he could get. We were there in December so there were multiple whale sightings. Saw several dolphins too, not sure if they are seasonal to that area or not. Beer, champagne and Mai tais all served on the boat. Buffet dinner was simple but fresh and tasty. We did both holo holo and captain andys napali coast sail/snorkel tour. First was holo holo, which was cheaper that andys. It was after a few days of heavy rains so they did warn us before going out that we may not be able to snorkel or get to far up napali due to the waves. We were fine with still going. FYI people you do go barefoot ou these type of boat tours. We got to the snorkel spot and they did jump in to see if it would be possible but the water was to muggy. No other boat tour that day even tried to look so that was a big plus for us that they did try. After that out came the all you can drink beer and wine : ) The staff was so great and funny. They kept checking to see if we needed another drink and taking empty our empty ones. I will warn people to take something if you get sick on boats or even just in case because 3 people got very ill on our trip. One was my sister who never gets sick on boats so that tells you that it is a rough but fun ride. We saw whales, tons of dolphins and sea turtles. Napali was amazing and our captain took us farther out than any other boat that day. Again - staff was GREAT!! Lunch was buffet style make your own sandwiches which were good. The only issue was the bathrooms which are kinda gross especially because you are barefoot. Andys banos are much better. Overall it was a blast even though our trip was missing some of the main activities f the tour. read more

We were weary about spending the money to do the Super Tour because some of the reviews we found on here for that tour were a little negative. I'm glad we spent the extra money because we had a fantastic time. In fact, it's the top of my list out of all the things we did on the trip. I would highly recommend taking some motion sickness meds before you start the trip. If you're unsure about it, do err on the side of caution. If you do get sick or feel uneasy, the staff is amazing and tentative to your needs. I know I don't have sea legs, so I took preventative measures. My fiance, on the hand, is a water person and had no problems. There were a few people who did feel queasy, after the snorkeling part, but only one person ended up getting ill (coincidentally he didn't even snorkel). Take some meds with you too, because it was pretty choppy in the water by the time we got in to snorkel. The current was very strong (I think it was partially due to the massive storm sitting off shore and heading to Kauai in the next day or two). Regardless of the current, the snorkeling was amazing. The reef was healthy and full of sea life. After completing our tour, I'm not sure how anyone would want to or even can manage to do a raft tour. You sit on the side the entire time, have no restrooms, and no shade. If you think about it, it's only $25-$50 more person to upgrade to this big boat on Holo Holo, you get more hours on the water, and get to snorkel at another island. If you're looking for adventure and something different, do the this tour. By the way, we saw a ton of sea creatures - whales, dolphins, a small shark that jumped out of the water in front of our boat, turtles, fish, urchins, and we were lucky to see an eagle ray (I think that's what it was called, like a sting ray but smaller with white spots). read more

Decided on here because of the decent price. We chose the Leila catamaran. Unfortunately for us the weather on that day was craptastic. Cloudy, cold and wet. 10 minutes after the boat left they announced we d be snorkeling! We hadnt had bfast and it was like 8:30am! We arrived at a spot where 4 other catamarans were snorkeling with there groups. Only reason I got in the water was because I saw the other groups already in and seemingly enjoying themselves. The water was actually warm (Thank God!). But I could barely see fish. We all stayed in the water less then 30 mins. It was boring. After that bfast was served and we started the trek to the Na Pali. Once there the Sun began to shine (woo hoo!) Allowing for great pics of the majestic coast. However we did not see the entire coast. I guess thats why the below average price. On the very long trip back we saw whales and schools of dolphins. That was pretty cool. Then it started to rain. By that point we all just wanted off the boat. I almost yelled "Thank you Jesus!" when we pulled to the dock. The staff (2 girls) were very nice and informative. We tipped them upon leaving. The captain was ok. I scheduled a boat ride / snorkel trip to see the Na Pali coast months in advance and based on Holo Holo Charters outstanding reviews. Unfortunately the weather did not hold up and the capital announced before we even took off that we would not be going to see the Na Pali coast due to storm. It was disappointing to say the least, however had nothing to do with the Charter itself. We were given an option to not go for a full refund, which I thought was very fare. I don't think a single person took advantage of this and I don't regret it as it was a great boat ride nonetheless. The boat was large, larger than expected. Very clean and very well maintained. We were allowed to roam about and use the two front hammocks for lounging as well. Both breakfast and lunch were served on board. Coffee and various pastries for breakfast and sandwich spreads for lunch. The drinks and alcohol was plentiful and the crew made a point to continuously offer and refill them. They even had ginger candy on board for anyone that felt sea sick as well as a large container of reef friendly sunscreen. The snorkeling was a bit disappointing as there were not many reefs or fish. It was refreshing to be in the water nevertheless and I think most people on board enjoyed it. I am not sure what snorkeling location was planned if we did go the Na Pali coast route. I will say, if at all possible, do either go on a boat or helicopter to see the coast. It is absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous and worth the time / money. Another shutout to the crew who were absolutely wonderful. They were funny and nice and tried to explain the surroundings as much as possible. I would highly recommend this company. Yesterday my visiting guest and I had the pleasure of a fabulous tour with Holo Holo Charters. Every staff and crew member we encountered were friendly, helpful, fun and on top of there game. Made for an outstanding experience! We saw dolphins, whales, lepord ray, turtles, flying fish. The Napali is breath taking and the crew taught us about our environment as we cruised along. The boat was impeccable, the food was fresh, yummy and healthy. They don't use plastic! They wash plates, cups and cutlery. During my visit to Kauai, the famous 11 mile Kalalau Trail was sadly closed for restoration (the first time in decades!). Still wanting to see the Na Pali Coast, my friend and I opted for the more touristy route of taking a catamaran to view the side of the island only accessible by water or hike. Their website offers some pretty significant discounts if you make reservations in advance, but they honored the price break via phone even though we called a day before the trip. Nice! From the lady behind the front desk, to the captain and crew, all of the staff was amazing, attentive, and SO friendly. The whole experience was completely enjoyable and relaxing. read more

My boyfriend and I did the Napali Coast Sunset Tour and we were so pleased with our experience. Our crew members were Captain Ian, Emily, and Shakeed (probably misspelled it). All crew members were super friendly and attentive. They even conversed with us throughout the ride, provided dinner and snacks, and even took pictures for us. The tour had an open bar policy and the crew members were right there to provide you your next drink! The tour took us along the Napali Coast which was breathtaking. The captain spotted a few dolphins and stopped by so that we can enjoy them. There was little history lessons along the way as well as pointing out famous movie scenes. On our way back, we stopped for sunset pictures which were gorgeous. So happy to have found this place on Yelp! A must do when in Kauai!!! read more

Kauai...who could blame me for wanting to sail and snorkel the day away? Certainly not me! So my wife, a friend of mine, and I went to Costco and purchased gift cards for Holo Holo Charters to do just that. We arrived at the appointed time and these folks are clear about directions on what to do, where to go, where to wait, safety, etc. The spoiler, the fly in the ointment, the reason they only get three stars is for what felt like "bait and switch." To be fair, Holo, Holo Charters says that you can't get double discounts. For instance, you can't expect to get the online discount and come in with a coupon for 20% off. Are we clear? Yet, Holo Holo sees gift cards as discounts. Now, try that maneuver at a restaurant and it won't work. Why? Because gift cards are not considered discounts but currency...the don't expire and even if you get $100.00 for $80.000 what you have is hard currency. No eating establishment I know says "You can't have the daily special because you are paying with a gift card!" No, the gift card is just currency. This is an important factor for those who buy the gift card at the Kauai Costco and then come to the counter and find they need to pay even more because "the gift card is considered a discount." With that rant behind me, lets get on with the review! This organization has a good crew, they've got their sea legs, and they set up a good breakfast, a good lunch, and are generous with beverages of all kinds (to include beer and wine). The captain (Kelly I believe...who surfs as well) is convivial, commanding, and a seasoned pilot of the ship. While our snorkeling time seemed a little short, the three of us had a good time swimming around (There wasn't much to see but still, we had a good time). About the only other down side was that we really didn't sail...maybe 15 minutes at the most, which in my opinion is not a sailing trip. Disappoint but true. I suspect it has everything to do with the distance which could not be covered by sailing and get us back in time. So, would I go again? For all the beauty we soaked up getting there, yeah, I would. There are a quiet a few of these sailing ships, but the captain and her crew really made it happen. Yeah, I'd do this again. read more

Really a great company. This is the second time we use them for a boat tour. We did the snorkeling tour. it was a beautiful day and we learned a lot about the coast of Kauai and its surroundings. Snorkeling was nice. We saw a sea turtle and plenty of fish. What's great about the snorkeling tour too is that they offer different vision snorkel masks. I can't see without my glasses. I saw very well with those masks. The lunch portion was generous. I suggest you take Dramamine the night before going on the boat. It helped me tremendously and i was able to enjoy the trip. A few others on the boat didn't have such a good time as they were sick. The guides were wonderful and friendly. They are knowledgable and passionate about what they do. This was by far the greatest adventure of our trip to Kauai! We decided to do the Sunset Cruise to see the beautiful Napali Coastline and were not disappointed with it's beauty....totally awe-inspiring. I actually had envisioned that this would be a mellow boat ride, and even contemplated wearing a dress. I am so glad I decided to go more casual, because the ride was actually pretty rough and everyone was blasted with the sea salt spray....especially those who opted to sit outside. Embarrassing tidbit: since I didn't expect this to be a rough ride, I ended up having a full blown panic attack when we started speeding up. The crew was soooooo incredibly nice though and didn't make me feel like a moron for freaking out. In fact, one of them told my boyfriend that if he had any sort of nurturing side, now would be the time to show it. That guy was my hero that day...and my bf ended up being really supportive too, thank goodness! Aside from my little breakdown, this was one heck of an amazing experience. We had a wonderful time! On Friday Jan 22nd we did the Na Pali Sunset tour. The crew were amazing, forgot their names :(. We were able to see a pod of spinner dolphins and also whales. When we arrived at Holo Holo's office for an early morning check-in everything went very smoothly. There wasn't much hanging around, as they quickly got us orientated and walked us down to the dock. Na Pali Coast and Niihau Super Tour is the premiere trip on Holo Holo, one of the largest and fastest vessels on Kauai. At 65 feet, this agile power cat is long and wide enough to give you a swift, adventurous ride even at her top speeds. And what an adventure it was! One thing we really liked about the Holo Holo tour is that they offered aids for sea sickness for free. We've been on many other boat tours and have never had any of these provided free to all. They came right up to our boat, swimming in front and along the sides of the boat. Our first point of interest was to view the breath-taking Na Pali Coast. You really have no idea how beautiful this place is until it is right in front of your face. The Cathedral Cliffs are spectacular. With so many waterfalls, lush valleys, and sea caves to see, it made for a fanatic morning. Seeing the Na Pali Coastline is something I highly recommend that you see by boat the next time you are on Kauai. After sightseeing along Na Pali, we headed across the channel for a choppy and wet ride to the islands of Niihau and Lehau. The main reason we selected this tour out of all the others, was because it provided us the opportunity to see both Niihau and Lehua. Holo Holo Charters is the only company granted permission to take visitors to see these islands. This is not a tour I would recommend taking children on. Being out at sea for 7 hours is a long time. There were stretches of time that Holo Holo was going very fast and even we felt a little nauseous at one point. This was the first time I have ever experienced this at sea and have been on some very choppy rides in the past. Because this is a 7 hour tour, if you are prone to getting sea sick this is not the tour for you. Instead, book one of Holo Holo Charters many other tours at sea. read more

We took the 7 hour snorkeling cruise and had an amazing time! We lucked out with beautiful and calm weather, but that wasn't what made the trip great. The crew was fun and attentive and made it feel less like a tour and more like you were hanging out on your friend's boat. Breakfast was good (fruit, pastries, juice, coffee, tea) and served right away. We then cruised for awhile until the captain (Wendall) spotted Spinner Dolphins so we turned around and watched those for awhile. We continued to the coast and we're awestruck by the beauty. The captain and crew was full of information and willing to take pictures as we slowly went along the coast. Ahren, one of the crew memebers, shared fresh mangoes and avocados along the way. He taught us the best way to cut them, and gave us some extra to take home. He was a huge part of what made the trip great. He took the time to talk to all passengers, and learned more about them than just where they were from. He was the reason that the trip felt so friendly and you are very lucky if he is one of the crew on your trip. Then we went off to the "Forbidden Island" where the crew again was full of knowledge about the island. We stopped and went snorkeling and saw a monk seal along with many brightly colored fish. Snorkeling wasn't super easy, considering the water was so deep but it wasn't difficult if you used a pool noodle (no shame in doing this, most people did). We finished with lunch (sandwich bar) and headed back to the port. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend doing this excursion while in Kauai!! read more

The tour was fine, but beware of the pricing. We bought 'discount' gift card at Costco ($80 for $100 card) and we're happy with the thought of a 20% discount. Come to find out they jack the price up by 19% if you use the gift cards. (They charge about $100 if you book online, but $119 if you want to use the gift cards.) Finished the night time sunset cruise and had a great experience. The staff were all great and very helpful throughout. They shared a lot about the island and sea life we were cruising by. I'd certainly recommend the sunset Napali coast cruise. The food was good (they served lasagna with salad and veggies) and they served drinks the entire trip. I'd definitely do the cruise again and would recommend it to fellow travelers. read more

If you're looking online for a company to choose, look no further than Holo Holo. We went on the 7 hour Super Tour and it was absolutely incredible. We started the morning early, we had to be there at 630AM. Captain Wendell came out and told us that the weather may be 'exciting' but me and my husband weren't able to reschedule so we just YOLOed (actually YOHOed, you only honeymoon once). The trip on the way to the Na Pali coast it was rough. REALLY rough. Many people got sick, I actually didn't think I could stand so I laid my head down on a table and dozed on and off. The customer service on this boat was OUT OF THIS WORLD. We went out with along with Captain Wendell we had Drew, and two people (who's names I can't remember :( I'm sorry! One was a guy who had curlyish hair and was super steady on desk and one was a girl from Israel). They were incredible. Always checking in on us, helping us get from place to place on the boat when it was such rough waters, asking if we needed anything, the guy who's name I can't remember even recommended a good happy hour/place for beers after the tour. Even with such a rocky start to the trip, I remember thinking, 'Damn, this is good customer service'. The water/wind was more in our favor as we stopped for lunch/snorkling. We had lunch and relaxed in the sun on the boat. The trip back to Kauai was smooth, there was music going, it was an absolute BLAST. I really can't say enough good things about this crew/company. From the moment that I called to make the reservations to the time we stepped off the boat we were treated with amazing customer service, kindness, we always felt safe. This was the best dinner cruise we have taken!! We have been blessed to take a few and this was by far the BEST! Captain and his team were great and informative. Had the opportunity to see baby dolphins, waterfalls, caves up close. The food was great too. Perfect experience. read more

With only enough time on Kauai to take one catamaran tour, I had to decide between Holo Holo and Captain Andy's and after a lot of research and reviews, I decided to go with Holo Holo for a few reasons: 1) rave reviews (and I wasn't one bit dissapointed with my 5 hour Na Palo snorkel/sail tour) 2) a $30 summer discount they were giving on the tour which brought it down to $109 per person (thank you recession) 3) the great variety of options that allows visitors to do a sunset tour, 5 hr tour, or all day tour (that includes a trip to Niihau) My girlfriend had a terrible time on a 4 hour deep sea fishing trip and luckily the time on this 50 foot catamaran was much more pleasant. Asides from the fact that the waters were extremely calm, the crew was very knowledgeable, the people at their office provided plenty of good natured information over the phone, and the food provided for lunch and as snacks exceeded my expectations. Fruit juices, water, and beer were plentiful on the trip and it seemed like they brought more and more drinks out of a never ending cooler that was crisp cold. Lunch meats of all varieties, fresh fruit, pasta salad, and a variety of good cheeses made for a great ocean meal. The trip itself was amazing with some great majestic views of the Napali Coast, that you just won't quite see from a hike, and to see the spinner dolphins jump out of the water, do some acrobatic flips, and swim only a few feet from the catamaran, you really do get your money worth. I think the catamaran can hold up to 42 people but luckily for us on this trip, there were only about 22 people. read more

Our experience with Holo Holo was by the highlight of my trip to Kauai. Impeccable customer service and the experience of a lifetime. My family and I did the five hour catamaran ride. Tip 1: Take your Dramamine! You are not to awesome to get sea sick and this is not a trip you want to miss! If you think the prices are splurge I am here to tell you they are worth it, good food and the crew is so knowledgeable. We did not get to go snorkeling because of murky waters but no regrets on that. We saw sea turtles, humpback whales and two kinds of dolphins! AWESOME read more

Captain Jeff, Jeff, and Amy were very helpful and polite. They were appropriately concerned with our safety and motion-sickness. Jeff is quite a talker! The 50 foot catamaran was well-equipped and comfortable, with two trampolines and seats everywhere, it just seemed like. Two meals were simple but tasty - a continental breakfast with sweet breakfast pastries, bagels & cream cheese, and fruit, as well as a lunch of sandwiches, pasta salad, and cut vegetables. The most amazing part is hard to tell - the Na Pali coast is gorgeous, and we got so close! We saw waterfalls, places out of the pirates of the caribbean movies, and places we'd like to go kayaking if we return in the summer time. However, we also went near three large pods of spinner dolphins, and saw humpback whales that came up to 20 feet from the boat. We even saw two sea turtles. We also snorkeled - the snorkeling was fine but not outstanding that day. It was lovely to hop in the water for a swim, though! I love swimming off of boats. Would definitely take this tour again, in a heartbeat. read more
