Holy City is a great place to go if you've got a big group and haven't made reservations anywhere. It's family friendly, has menu items for everyone, good NA options, and a nice marsh view. We've never had a wait for a table here.

Holy City is one of the best places to go in a big group with children and still have a good time without having to worry about service, getting a table and making reservations. the kids can run free and the adults can sort out their own food orders at the counter. It keeps everything organized and flowing. The food options are always cooked to perfection, and the drink options are guaranteed to have something for everyone. Absolutely recommended for Stress free group hangs

I was in Charleston and wanted to grab some beer, so I asked around for a good brewery. A few people recommended Holy City Brewing, and I went to check them out. I was able to find parking around the brewery. When I walked in, it was lively with people enjoying their beers. The atmosphere was great, everyone seemed to be having a good time. I grabbed a high chair by the bar, chatted with the server, and ordered a Holy City Pilsner. It was a tap beer and I got my drink in 5 minutes. The beer was really good and refreshing! It was the perfect beer for a hot afternoon, and I enjoyed my drink. Holy City Brewing was a great choice for a beer!

One of my husband's college friends got married here last weekend, and it was truly such a stunning low country wedding! They had both the ceremony and reception here at The Porter House tucked behind and in conjunction to the brewery, and it was truly the perfect space and setting! The weather worked out perfectly to keep the ceremony outdoors overlooking the river, and inside really holds a perfect blank space to host any large gathering. There's even a beautiful long dock that goes all the way out to watch the sunset go down. They served delicious spaghetti and pizza for dinner, and their cake was great too! The venue team seemed super on top of things and very friendly. I believe one of the coordinators was even kind enough to take a couple of photos from my iphone of my husband and I all dressed up. Such a beautiful evening full of old friends and a bride and groom closing out 10 years of love and forever ahead.

I really like Holy City Brewing for a casual hangout spot. They have a big patio / yard area with a ton of seating and lots of outdoor space for kids to run around. This is a great spot for parents and kids of all ages to hang out at. The food menu has your standard sandwich, burger, and salad options, but they also have some seafood and other options as well. I tried the fish tacos and a basket of sweet potato fries - both were very good, the fries were perfectly cooked and the tacos were fresh. I also had a seltzer which is actually made in house, so it comes in a glass instead of a can. I thought the concept was interesting and the flavor was good. They have a ton of beer options for the beer drinkers and I believe they have a full bar as well. Overall if you're looking for a fun, low key spot to meet with friends then this is a great option!

The beers here were great! The Ribeye Philly was good, very filling. Service was great. What a beautiful, huge patio area with nature surrounding it. Very impressive!

Holy City has a new hidden speakeasy inside. If the light is green that means it's go time! Curated cocktails led by Johnny Caldwell and delicious bites served up to make for a sip bite and taste it good time! It's open Friday-Sunday starting at 6pm. Holy City is one of my favorite hang out spots and this just another level to add to the great vibes. Quick service with a nice laid back fun space to sit and sip awhile.

We walked in on a Thursday around 7pm and had no issues getting a table. The night was beautiful and they had all the doors up so it was amazing to feel like you're outside even though we were sitting inside. Our server, Taylor, was very friendly and accommodating, we started with the cheese wedges and a pretzel with beer cheese with ranch and marinara and hot mustard. Both were excellent! Then we ordered a Make your own burger..,, it was cooked perfectly and packed so much flavor! We were so busy enjoying the night that I didn't even snap a photo of our food. The atmosphere was perfect for singles, girls night, game watching, or family dinner. The space is amazing with so many things, we can't wait to go back!

Came in for lunch after a business show and really enjoyed the food and beer! I got the smash burger and sweet potato fries with a flight. Doesn't get much better than that! The service was friendly and attentive, it was a bit pound but that's a brewery for you.

The establishment, staff, site and food are top notch. Every time we go it gets better and better. There are spacious bars, outside seating and a porch for all to enjoy. Holy 33 IPA Imperial (10.4 ABV) is by far my favorite. Discosaurus IPA Imperial (10.5 ABV) is very good too. Hoptimus Prime American IPA (8 ABV) is great. And the Weihenstephaner Festbier (5.3 ABV) and Let's Hear It For the Gourds Pumpkin (5.8 ABV are tasty seasonal offerings. This brewery is a must go-to every time we're in town. This visit we were able to stop in a few times and spend time with our local friends. A must go-to and there are beers for everyone's taste. Don't miss it.

Hot garlic parm + chili wings

I've been to Holy City numerous times, but this was first first getting their wings and they are the bomb! I was able to split my flavors and I liked both the hot garlic parm and chili wings. My fiancé and I chose to sit at the bar and were served right away, and the food came out to us pretty quickly (10-15 minutes). The bar was pretty packed too, so we were pleasantly surprised.

Amazing how busy this place is... but good food, relaxed environment and an efficient system to handle the crowds makes for an easy relaxed night to catch up over drinks.

Always have good experiences at Holy City Brewing. Their wings are delicious. The boiled peanuts, but could be a little high seasoned if your watching your salt intake. Full bar and good specialty cocktails. I'm not a beer drinker, but they have wine and a few ciders to choose from. Large space inside and outside with plenty of seating. Great for large groups, especially after work. I don't recall ever having an issue with service.

Can we buy their beer on bottle/can in there to bring home?

Yes! You can buy two sizes of Growler and singles and six packs (cold) of several different varieties. GREAT beer!

    Dog friendly or nah?

Ditto on the first two answers. HC no longer allows dogs... Apparently there were a few incidents… Read more

The outdoor area is huge and inviting, with plenty of space to spread out and relax. We especially loved sinking into the comfortable rocking chairs, the perfect place to kick back with a drink in hand. The overhangs and fans kept everything cool and breezy, which made hanging outside even more enjoyable on a warm day. One of our favorite features was the outdoor ordering window. It's so convenient, especially if you're visiting with your pup--you never have to leave them behind just to grab another round. The whole place has a fun, welcoming vibe with great music setting the tone. While we didn't sample the food this time, it was definitely tempting, and it's nice to know it's available if you want to make an afternoon of it. Drink-wise, Commonhouse nails it. While beer is their specialty (and they have a solid selection), they also offer a frozen drink and a few seltzers for those who prefer something a little different. And for the pups? They've thought of that too, with outdoor water stations so your dog can stay refreshed right alongside you. All in all, it's a truly pet-friendly spot with a laid-back atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer. It's quickly become one of our favorite places to relax and enjoy Charleston with Luna by our side.

That's one of the reasons my husband and I came here on a Saturday before the Stingrays game because it's near the collussium. It looks like it's kind of hidden off the road pulling up There is also a huge parking lot across the street. Lots of tables outside and by the downstairs grass area, but they fill up quick. Also very dog friendly and kid friendly. They had Cornhole and frisbee for games. Inside there is a large bar and table seating. You order up at the bar area. Btw they don't have soybean oil in anything, not the buns or sides and they even fry in beef tallow. So I ordered a single cheese burger with the special sauce as well as a side of crispy potatoes. I also got a glass of wine, which I was happy they had wine as an option ...not all breweries do that. My husband got the double cheeseburger with a side of crispy potatoes and a beer. We came around 430pm and sat by the benches below because the upstairs tables were full already so come early. They give you a number so they can easily find you. The food came fast, and it was delicious. The burger had lots of flavor and was the perfect size. The potatoes fried in beef tallow were crispy and delicious. It was my first time trying something fried in beef tallow and I can confirm it does not make it taste beefy Needless to say we will definitely be back!!
