As someone who's relatively new to horses and still figuring a lot out, I can't say enough good things about Holy Cow Tack and Feed! The staff here are incredibly knowledgeable and always patient with my many questions. I really appreciate that when I call to check if something is in stock, they're happy to look so I don't waste a trip--such a time-saver. Their prices on bermuda and alfalfa pellets are very competitive compared to other tack shops in town, and the location is super convenient to my barn. While some items in the store can feel a little on the higher side, I think it's worth it for the selection, convenience, and the peace of mind of knowing they've got what I need most of the time. The store itself is packed with a huge variety of items--not only for horses, livestock, and pets, but also some fun things for humans too. They also carry new and used saddles (mostly western, with some English), and if your horse ever needs something for health or injuries, chances are you'll find it here. Unfortunately I need to give poor review. They offer excellent pet food choices. They are helpful and have rewards program. But I was offended because in this time of Covid 19 I expect to go into an establishment and be respected. I came in masked and feel that they should take care of me by also being masked as I entered. I want this a Pandemic to end and Arizona's numbers are spiking. If I enter again and have same experience I will walk out. Please address this matter so that we can get through this together. Just returned requested mask. All of salespeople had no masks. This company is so awesome for its inclusion for ALL. I'm oh so proud of them as they're not being judgemental and actually following the Bible word for word (Matthew 7.1) and not twisting it up to suit themselves. Really wanted to like this place. It's close, convenient, and sometimes Ace doesn't have the supplies we need for our chickens However, I have to agree with another reviewer who said the staff are maskholes. Yes, there is a sign put front saying "Masks Optional," which should be a clue, but twice we went in with masks on, once at the height of the Delta surge and now with Omicron, and three guys were standing around, no masks, didn't offer us any help (even though there were no other customers), making snarky remarks about masks and mask wearers (I guess they think masks make you deaf). As a business, it doesn't matter what YOUR views are; making your customers feel safe and respected should be a priority. Gave them a second chance. Won't be back. read more

This store carries some good products but they are really expensive. I needed to pick up some horse wormer and sack feed. Just to give an example, a tube of panacur cost $16.99. I went online and ordered the panacur from Valleyvet.com for $9.95. I had expected to pay a little more in store, maybe $11.00 or $12.00 but not $16.99! That mark up is crazy. The feed was marked up pretty high too. Three to four dollars more a bag than the feed stores on the west side of town. Also, if I am going to buy a bag of feed for $30.00 it shouldn't be taped up! read more

While most of my friends and I try to avoid going into this store at all costs, unfortunately the mill will not fill Triple Crown Gold orders to anyone else who tries to order. So I have been going in to pick that up. No more. This store's markups on items such as fly spray and general gear are ridiculous. Their TC feeds are much more expensive than I can get elsewhere, to the point I will buy only the Gold with them and have gone as far as getting other feeds from Phoenix rather than here - it ended up being quite a bit cheaper. They also will frequently tell you on the phone that they have something that is not there when you drive 45 minutes to go get it. Then whoever else is at the counter will shrug and say they don't know why you were told that; they haven't had it in weeks. The workers are, with a couple exceptions, not exactly focused on helping customers. Standing with a 50lb bag of feed over my shoulder waiting at the counter for ten minutes while a clump of employees stands off to the side chatting about how stupid people who wear masks are is obnoxious. The conversation I got to hear yesterday about how some people have called them N@zies and 'they're the REAL racists' was just enough for me. I've seen enough behavior off some of the people in store to say that comment didn't come from nowhere - and I wouldn't advise my employees to be loudly broadcasting that fact. It's not that this place doesn't have decent prices and a good variety, but I take offense that they are MASKHOLES. Every time I have gone in one or more of the employees don't have a mask on...this morning I almost walked out when a customer did not have a mask, nor did one of the folks working. We are in a pandemic, it is because of this behavior that our numbers are again skyrocketing. Clearly you are not thinking of the healthcare professionals who will save your lives when you get sick...good LORD. We do not have unlimited healthcare workers for God sakes. As a former first responder this behavior makes me realize that people don't care about us and for some reason think they are entitled to whatever it is they are trying to prove. MASKUP...they are MANDATORY. While I probably only spend a couple hundred a month here, I will NOT be back. read more

So impressed by the helpful service, reasonable prices and great variety in horse dog and cat feed. They are still getting stuff in but had everything I wanted and great improvement over dark and surly staff inn previous store here . I live in Sonoita and I am going here to get all my horse feed and supplies from now on... better than CAL in Sierra vista or tractor supply in Benson and so much nicer and better quality than the feed and tack than other east side stores. Do not get your pet groomed here! Ida cancelled on me twice 30minutes before my appointmen. Then when I came in for my rescheduled appointment she said she couldn't take my pet in as there were 5 dogs ahead of him. Ida was unbelievably rude and arrogant when I expressed my disappointmen. Makes me wonder how she actually treats the animals and how much time she actually takes to groom... Terrible business practices read more

I wish I didn't have to write this review, but I want people to understand. A few days ago but husband when to this feed store to buy puppy shots for our 7 week old puppies. My husband administered the shots as usual. A couple hours later 3 of the puppies started seizing. We immediately took them into the pet hospital. The doctor asked us what could cause it. The puppies were perfectly happy and normal acting puppies right before shots were given. The doctor ran tests and tried to save the puppies, only to find out that the shots were bad (likely stored improperly or a bad batch). After thousands of dollars trying to save them and figure out what happened, We had to put the puppies down. Please please do not buy puppy shots from this place read more

I am getting my horses soon as a first time owner I have a lot to learn. This is the first place I go I found the staff helpful and they did not try to sell me unnecessary products. They were honest about what products were best even if they were not the most expensive. It seems like a lot of employees there have horses or at least work with them. I will go back. Went with my grandmother because I heard great things at the barn I keep my horse at in the Tanque Verde area. When I went in the other other evening I was really turned away at the fact the staff were not wearing masks and feeling ignored when I went in. I did really enjoy the great selection of horse products. When I went on yelp and saw that other people were upset about the masks and saw the business owners laughed at negative posts... You guys should be taking feedback from customers serious and not laughing at any constructive criticism. I don't think I'll be in again for the lack of respect. Love this store! My husband usually does the shopping here, but stopped in with my young son (and puppy) today to pick up some dog food. AWESOME customer service- super polite and friendly! The guy who helped me (didn't catch his name) also carried my dog food out and loaded it in my trunk for me- not necessary, but a really nice touch! Love the huge selection of dog treats/snacks, and I see they offer things like snake training as well. Really great place, and love supporting a small local business rather than the chain pet stores. This store is owned by the incompetent former manager of the Pet Club store that used to occupy the same location at Pantano/Tanque Verde/Wrightstown Road and has now moved to the Safeway shopping center at Tanque Verde and Catalina Highway. I stopped going to that PetClub location when she took over as manager several years ago because the customer service was so bad. They were under staffed and what staff they had was not properly trained. I had one bad experience in there and that was all it took for me to boycott the place. When I recently stopped into that location and found that it's now Holy Cow, that same woman (former Pet Club manager/now Holy Cow owner) tried to sell me something other than what I asked for (something Pet Club carried but she didn't) and when I said I used to get it at Pet Club, she said "we're not affiliated with Pet Club--they went out of business" which of course they didn't--they just moved. When I found PetClub's new location, I told them what she said and they explained that she took over the lease on their previous location when they moved. Apparently Pet Club put up signs at their former location telling customers that they'd moved, but since Holy Cow is a Pet Club competitor, Holy Cow's owner took them down! It seems that Holy Cow's owner has been trying to steal Pet Club's customers by telling them that PetClub is out of business rather than the truth--that they just moved down the street. This is no way to run a business. If Holy Cow can provide good customer service and good products at competitive prices, they shouldn't have to steal customers from Pet Club. Certainly hope Holy Cow is unsuccessful in siphoning off Pet Club's business. Pet Club's customer service in the new location without the former manager (now owner of Holy Cow) is excellent! Wow! I was able to attend the grand opening of this business on November 17th and have to say that the people that work there are as friendly and hospitable as you' d ever want to find. They were very busy as you can imagine, but a young lady named Elizabeth volunteered to make a fresh pot of coffee for an older fellow that was playing music and another lady that I missed her name, was kind enough to fetch a bowl of water for a visiting dog named Duke. The staff were so kind and from what I could see, the place is well stocked and the prices are definitely right. Go over and check them out. You won't be disappointed. read more
