Came here once before during an event several years back and would've given it 4 stars then. Returned here today for a totally different experience. The nursery states "open" but is blocked by several large trucks with hitched trailers. I had a hard time finding an entrance to the grounds and when I did, I couldn't tell if I was in a nursery or a construction zone. The lot was empty with little hills of rocks and tractors. There were some outdoor plants, but very sparse and not healthy looking. I couldn't find where the indoor plants were and I wandered the property for a solid five minutes before I gave up and left. Never saw another person or worker. Odd experience, will not be back. read more

Great place to go for the beginner house plant owners. They are very friendly and knowledgeable here. I've picked up numerous house plants and pots here. They even were able to give me advice on some sunflower sprouts I've been growing from one of those grocery store grow kits. After following their advice, I was able to re-pot my sprouts and they are thriving! Very reasonable prices as well. For the introverts/shy shopper, they also have signs on their houseplants inside the shop that tell you what kind of plant they are and how to care of them in case you don't want to ask (but they usually tell you how to care for them at checkout anyways). read more

I only gave a 5 star rating because 6, 7, and 8 weren't options. I just had another absolutely fantastic experience w/ Jason, Cristian, and the crew w/ Silverbell Nursery. Last year I had them come in and revamp my front and backyards. They did an absolutely tremendous job. And even many months later if I ever contacted them w/ an issue (e.g., a plant dying) they always got back to me within a day and the plant was always replaced within 2 days. So, when I wanted to get more work done I knew who I was going to. Once again they were perfect. Great communicators - answered every question I had promptly. They consistently did what they said they would do - in fact, they did better than that. They got the job done ahead of schedule. Further, the end product is absolutely fantastic. It's significantly better than what I had hoped for. It could have been 30% less nice looking and I'd still have readily given a 5 star review. They're pleasant, good communicators, knowledgeable, they do what they say they're going to do, and they stand behind their work. You're not going to find better. read more

I love this nursery!! Every time I've gone I've been greeted by the super friendly staff. All of them are very knowledgeable and very helpful. I absolutely love the selection of plants and really like the cute boutique items they have for home decor. My family and I went to one of their events a couple months ago and it was so fun for the entire family! The kiddos enjoyed Mr. Nature while my husband and I shopped and mingled with the other patrons. Hands down the best place in town! I came here looking for fox farms products as it was listed on their site as a seller. I showed up at 9am to have a look around the nursery as I needed a few different things. Their voice-mail (got that as they refused to answer the phone) said 9am and well as their site and sign on the gate. It was 9:21 am and still not open. I tried to call again and nothing. I did this review on Google as well and got a response that they do not carry fox farms and they had a staffing issue. If you all would of answered the phone and let us know that and that you didn't have the products it would have been way better customer service then letting me and two others sit in the parking lot. Guess when you get to a certain level you stop caring. read more

I use to shop here all the time until in spring of 2019 I paid for an Australian Bottle tree that I was told will either be in on the next truck or they would go up to Phoenix and pick it up for me. A month later I finally called them only to be told that the person who made my sale was no longer there and yes they had hundreds of dollars of my money and no they were not expecting any bottle trees. Of course this was after my first call, spoke to owners daughter, in early morning and she told me she was busy but would check and call me back. Six hours later nothing, called again and told same thing by owners daughter. By the time I got someone who could actually do their job it was the next day. I was so furious that a customer who's money they had was way on the back burner I insisted they return my money. I will NEVER shop at this nursey ever again. Disappointed in the lack of customer care I received. The employee watering plants when I arrived barely acknowledged me as I circled the grounds numerous times. I received no offer of help or guidance. Three employees at the check-out desk were engaged in conversation with a previous customer while I stood in line holding a heavy container--not one came to assist me. When I completed my purchase, no one offered to help me to my car. I like supporting smaller, locally based businesses, but I expect excellent service. My impression is that prices are rather high. I'll be purchasing additional plants from Bach's or Zocalo's. read more

Visited for the first time today. A handful of decent houseplants available, but the majority of plants, indoor and outdoor, are dead or dying. Succulents are sparse and have stretched out for lack of sunlight. Cacti are alive, but some were rotted, so they will die soon. Spent maybe 5min on the large property because 95% of the plants were very obviously dead. Pretty sure it's been weeks or maybe months since anything was watered by more than rain. Underwhelming. read more

I have been visiting this beautiful nursery since I was little and my parents would get all of their plants there. What I remember most was the amazing smell of fresh plants in bloom, the strong sense of community and the excellent customer service. Now as an adult, I have had the pleasure of visiting and shopping at this newly improved space. They have done an amazing job of maintaining it's history, while bringing it back to life for all to enjoy. The little gift shop is spectacular, and I hear they have big plans for events in the near future. An absolute Tucson GEM, must go!! read more

Wow, why has it taken me so long to make the short trip up to this local nursery?! What a great place, with a very informed staff. They specialize in flora that work well in this arid environment. Prices are reasonable. My only complaint is that I wish there was more stuff here. Not that they are lacking, it's just that I have seen more selection among varieties at some other nurseries. Another strong positive point for this nursery is that they build water-harvesting and storage systems. And this appears to be done at a reasonable cost. If there was a -5 star I'd pick that. Really really arrogant staff. We ordered a water tank, we paid it in full. On the delivery day-no phone call that they could not make it. "oh we have someone out sick", was the excuse. Well, give a call and reschedule with apologies, would have been the thing to do in business and reschedule ASAP. Horrible customer service. We canceled our order and the staff person could have cared less. We are a gay married couple this could have been their issue. Beware. read more

I live close by and saw these gorgeous desert blue bell plants that I had to have! Almost like the Texas ranger. I asked one of the workers and he said this was a plant that needed sun all day long with little water.... a desert plant! I got 2. Couple weeks later.... dead. Both of them. I don't think they should be out in the sun like he said they could, and I think more water was needed. Either that or they were infected. Mind you not this was in march we got the plants so not too hot yet. read more

This is a great nursery, lush and green in a deserty way, a sort of crawling gardens of Babylon. The staff persons I talked to were friendly and jokey but know their inventory really well; one immediately took me to the creosote when I asked for it and also--I was impressed by this--recommended a specific plant when I described what I was looking for (something trailing and heavily leaved and shade-tolerant). It's also reasonably priced. I'm thinking I might move in. read more

I wanted to support local business and decided not to purchase plants from Home Depot or Lowe's. My visit to this place only took 5 minutes before I head for the door. The young gentleman there was so rude. I have never encounter this kind of behavior at any stores, ever. He basically told me there is a Home Depot down the road. read more

Family owned wholesale and retail nursery for over 50 years! The staff and certified sales personnel are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Great spot to find colorful annuals to spruce up your pots, herbs for the kitchen, or perennials to fill in the xeriscaped backyard. read more

Excellent nursery! I have had a large culvert cistern for rainwater harvesting installed. Jason Stryker came to my home and gave me a very competitive bid for the total job, and a quick time-table to get it it done. I had a very difficult access issue that Jason and his crew overcame with minimal difficulty and great good humor---thanks for that guys! Jason's crew (Daniel and Raul, in particular) were knowledgeable, friendly---all the questions I had were answered thoughtfully and respectfully---as a woman, who sometimes finds it difficult to speak with contractors, I very much appreciate their attitude. Hands down the best nursery on the NW side of town! It's got a nice variety of plants, knowledgable and friendly staff, and when I wanted more of a plant than what they had in stock, they placed an extra order so I could get my special plants.They even took the time to look at my backyard blueprint/plans, help recommend things, and help me customize my backyard to the look of the foliage and colors that I wanted. Great HONEST staff, I stopped in to inquire about firewood and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Then to top it off the delivered it for free!!!!!! On a recent visit I got a sales pitch for their new line of dog food while waiting (I guess) for somebody who knew how to run the register. I ended up walking out. They weren't especially busy -- and this just pushes one of my big buttons, namely trying to sell you one thing, and ignoring what you actually came there for. A nice little neighborhood nursery on this side of town would certainly be nice, but i'll be going elsewhere in the future. read more
