Professor, what is an Ecosphere? Well, let me break it down. It is a beautifully blown glass sphere, pod or water drop shaped vessel that contains shrimp (the number of shrimp varies per size s-xl), shells, a magnet for cleaning, algae ,sea water, a branch, bacteria and micro organisms. It is self-sustaining ecosystem, you never have to feed the shrimpies. Simply provide your EcoSphere with a source of indirect natural or artificial light and enjoy this aesthetic blend of art and science, beauty and balance. Super cool, I know. It's like an aquarium but not having to clean fish poop out of smelly gravel. I recently moved to Tucson and my shrimp pals are still swimmingly perfect. Some owners have 10-15 year old shrimp still well and kicking. Some claim to have reproduced, however it is extremely rare....I'm still pulling that I will be one out of a million that has shrimp babies. If your shrimp die within a year, they will replace them. They also do custom orders. After years of staring at these babies online, I jumped for joy when I learned they are made in Tucson!!!!! I emailed the company and they said I could pick one up there....as I am in the market for a show stopping xl! They do not have a traditional storefront, but they have no qualms about me stopping by. When I first got my ecosphere I called the customer service line since I was worried about the little guys not having any light during the weekend. I was reassured that they would be fine for up to 4 days. The light and sun "charges" the sphere with enough energy which in turn produces oxygen and food for about 4-5 days with no issues. Yeah I know I can be a little obsessive but the person on the line was very friendly, helpful and didnt make me feel like I was crazy! Quick and responsive with a friendly and happy attitude. My girl is deathly afraid of baths. She will literally disassociate and shake with fear, then all 60 lbs of her will try to escape the tub. Even if it means breaking her neck doing so. It's usually a two person job, but I had gone solo today and really needed help. The two guys working were incredibly kind, easygoing, and so helpful. I was embarrassed to ask for so much assistance getting her in and out of the tub but they provided excellent customer service- did not make me feel like I was asking too much ever. Also, the vibe of the place is GREAT. My girl was able to settle into her bath pretty quickly actually. You know it's a calming place when you overhear other customers coming in saying "I've never been here so sorry if my dog barks a lot" and there are no doggo barks or whines. There's music playing in the back at a good volume; no one is vacuuming or creating extra loud noises; the booths are in sections. I will definitely be back!

This store unfortunately does not provide proper care for their animals. All of the bird enclosures are empty. No toys, no chews, just food and water. Birds out of all animals NEED enrichment. The rodent/ hamster enclosures were all overstocked and they had little to no bedding and enrichment. As a pet owner who has birds, rodents, and reptiles/fish, this really made my heart ache. I will say, the employees were kind and the reptile/fish enclosures looked decent. I don't want to see the business fail, and I really do feel bad leaving such a review, but people need to be educated. First time pet owners won't know how to properly care for their animal since they were never cared for correctly from the get go. If you are considering a pet (with proper care!!!) I highly recommend Paradise parrot and Ever evolving exotics. They truly care and prioritize their animals first. They are a wealth of knowledge!!
