I recently attended a funeral/buriel at Holy Cross Cemetery. While in attendance I realized I attended a funeral here 20 yrs. ago for a 15 yr. old neighbor who died in a traffic accident. I wanted to visit his grave & had no idea where to find it. I visited the office & Esmeralda Lopez helped me. She gave me the info where he was buried. I tried for 15 minutes to find it but I couldn't find it. I returned to the office & Esmeralda was polite & patient I actually walked me out to the burial site & helped me find it. As a father who has been dealing with his son "lil GUY" tragically killed in 2019, planned on sitting at his grave stone and crying. A father's day that I choose to have. Upon our arrival, my wife and myself, we came upon a very unkempt, over grown weeds "COVERING" our son's plot. Along with the whole area. To emotional to be angry, I admittedly dropped to my knees and started doing what a father does for his children, clean up his area. After completion, we sat numb. After a few minutes in silence, we noticed the sprinklers started across the way from us. So, besides the unkempt, weed over grown area, SPRINKLERS turning on mid afternoon!!!!! We ended our day, not wanting to be next if or not having the sprinklers start in our area. What's done is done. Happy father's day. read more

The services are ok but honestly we pay enough for us to feel we are valued customers by having a actual bathroom not a dirty ass porta potty. Our plot is close to it and we can't even sit with our loved ones because of the smell. They used to be on the other side of the office but they moved on this side. We tried using the bathroom inside during the office hours and they turned us away. I wouldn't even give them 1 star but I have no choice, there's better choices out there please do your research! read more

I truly love Holy Cross Cemetery in Pomona. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and consistently clean and well maintained. You can tell the staff puts effort into keeping the cemetery looking nice, and I appreciate that very much. My only complaint is regarding decorations. As families, we pay a lot to lay our loved ones to rest, and it's disappointing that we are not allowed to decorate their plots the way we want. As long as decorations are respectful and not disturbing neighboring plots, I don't see why they should be removed, especially when families have spent money and put love into honoring their loved ones. I also rarely see clear signage explaining what decorations are not allowed, so it can feel upsetting and rude when items are simply thrown away. Overall, this is a beautiful cemetery, but I believe customer service could be improved by allowing families more freedom to decorate and by providing clearer communication about any restrictions. Go to any other cemetery but this one. They have no compassion for the loss of your loved ones. You are a $$$ sign to everyone there. I was prepaying a few plots for my family and I, and they are with holding a huge percentage of what should have been refunded to me. I will be bringing legal action against them. I paid over $16,000 to only receive a refund of $8500. This is highway robbery. The reason I was canceling was due to financial burden. They do not deserve one star. Please be aware when dealing with all personal there, especially Cecilia Vasquez. They are making their commission and that all that matters to the whole establishment. They deserve 0 stars. My sisters are buried here, and mom wanted to be near them. Mom explained her budget, but they kept trying to up sell her. She left in tears without a purchase. Mom died the following year, sadly on the same day my brother died so we decided to place them in the same memorial. We arrived to find a "Salesperson of the Month" plaque in the lobby. So very crass! Then the salesperson asked about my final plans! They kept trying to up sell the costs and pitched me a plot! Unbelievable. Even though my family is here, I will not be buried here. We still owe them money. I'm tempted to pay in nickels and dimes. These people are gruesome and awful. read more

What can I say this COVID virus took both my parents away without them leaving me anything stable for there funeral arrangements I had to do some searching on my own. I found this Catholic cemetery to be the best price for both my parents. The staffemeber Erica what can I say about her she made things for me so easy less stressful friendly and real. She helped me get the whole package for both my parents and at a very good price. She even worked with me with the time of the burial and date. It's so unfortunate that we're not able to decorate our moms grave without either the groundskeeper or someone else taking her stuff we put on, when there are other graves that are decorated and nothing gets taken down. I don't understand who it does harm to. read more

This place was a lot better before they changed owners awhile back. They have no respect for the loved ones laid to rest here nor for the people who visit. They currently have construction that completely ruins the peaceful environment, I couldn't even have a moment with my loved one due to the noise I'd understand if it was a construction needed to repair something but it's for cosmetic reasons so completely unnecessary. Also the prior owners allowed everyone to decorate their loved ones gravestones as wanted with very few restrictions as they should considering the amount you pay to have one laid to rest here but with these owners they are very strict all because they don't want to deal with the Maintenance of it all. What was the reason for going into the cemetery business if you have no compassion. Very heartless, using the uncontrollable loss of others for business purpose only. read more

Initial experience was been positive. Multiple family members have been laid to rest here for generations. Is that forever in jeopardy? Do we have to fear our loved ones' safety here? We most definitely need to have concerns over the financial department. My granmothers burial was planned here. We were told they would not bury her till paid in full. Paid cash. Had paper marked paid in full, had grandma buried. AFTER they refused to place her marker until full payment was received!! What the heck??? Fought the battle and lost. They made us pay again. What choice do we have? Grandma is already at rest here! Do I have to be afraid for my grandpa? He is on hospice, and we begain to prepare his side of the plot. All to find out right now that we yet again have an invoice looking fishy.. document everything here. Take pictures and make copies. I know we have been taken advantage of here, I am afraid of the retaliation that may come our way because of this review. I can't stress enough that I am largely concerned for the ethics in this location. Do not trust easily. This was a terrible experience. We attended a funeral and were told only 15 people were allowed due to COVID restrictions. We show up and there another funeral with over a 100 people and a mariachi band. And the funerals were next to each other so we could not mourn in peace. Schedule these things better! You are in the wrong business if you can't figure these details out. Needs better management or administrative support. read more

With the whole Covid-19 situation, I did not know what exactly to expect. The folks there at Holy Cross Cemetery were very helpful in coordination with the mortuary. They allowed my father's grave to be opened and adjusted so that my mom's remains could be laid to rest with him. They communicated very well, my options and made an ugly process so much easier. I worked with Chrystal, but before finalizing things, she relocated to another location and Estrella assisted me. My wife and I showed up to the cemetery early because I wanted to be sure that things were handled correctly and things went very smoothly with all arrangements having been handled by the Holy Cross staff. We sent my mom off with dignity and compassion and I am very thankful. read more

My father passed away on November 9, 2020 looked and searched for places and I honestly felt other places were taking advantage of the situation. Here at Holy Cross Estrella made me felt welcomed and no rushed I felt she understood my situation. I also met Delilah who I'll be working with to make payment plans decided to get another grave next to Dad. Dad will be so close to us and the cemetery is not small but it is very calm and peaceful. We have had the privilege of using Holy Cross Cemetery in Pomona for over 20 years. Our maternal grandparents are buried there along with my brother and most recently our dad. With this COVID pandemic we made arrangements via email with the cemetery. We worked with Erica, whom was a cemetery arrangements counselor. Unfortunately this particular person seem to have great difficulty in returning phone calls and emails. I sent a couple of emails after mom signed new documents for dad's burial (all arrangements had been previously paid for over 20 years ago.) When I did not get a reply, I called and left 2 more messages for her to call us back and confirm. The day of dad's burial as we were arriving at the ce metery, I got a call from the mortuary telling me that the cemetery was not ready for dad, his site had not been prepared. This young woman came out to greet me as I was storming to the office to find out what had happened. Seriously all I got was excuses. We got dad buried that day but had to wait for the grounds keepers to quickly prepare for dad's burial and I can honestly say they worked as quickly as possible. A few days later we went into the office to pick out his headstone. Erica did apologize for the confusion but a little to late in my book. We were told after we finalized dad's headstone that it would take 4 to 6 weeks to get drawing from the company that make the headstone. Two weeks ago, I contacted Erica to find out what was going on with the headstone since I had never received an email with the drawing. I was told that it had been emailed to me in July. Evidently, she had the wrong email interestingly enough the previous emails came through without a problem. I asked that she resend the email. That same afternoon I returned a email letting her know all was good, order it please. I also asked for a hard copy of the drawing along with an estimated day of delivery. I sent THREE more emails along with 2 phone calls to ensure that she had received our email. Needless to say this young woman Erica is not my favorite person. No consideration, no follow up ever!! I know we will have many more family members that will be using Holy Cross but believe me, I will make known to all our family members NOT to work with Erica! Addendum 9/24/202 I called today to inquire about my dad's headstone. I was told it had been delivered and placed last week. When I asked why we had not been notified, I was just told SORRY. Was hoping that this was an isolated issue with one person at the cemetery but not looking so great to me! read more

Mediocre groundskeeping. Staff is not the best, either. There was one lady who assisted us in the office, I believe her name is Dora or Doris, who was so patient and understanding during our tough times; it was such a pleasure to deal with her. The rest of the staff seemed bothered when they had to work. On one instance, the groundskeepers dismantled our Christmas decorations my mother had so tediously put up the day before, even though they had told us the decorations would not come down until after Christmas. Basically just very inconsiderate and disrespectful employees. Would not recommend bringing your loved one here. read more

Literally just left the cemetery, we all waited an hour, for it to begin because they got the date wrong. So we had to wait for them to DIG the hole. It was so disrespectful to my friend Jay, whom we buried, to his mother, and the rest of his family and friends. My advice to the cemetery workers is, get your stuff together. After having a bad experience at Pomona Cemetery ( customer service) I decided to inquire at Holy Cross Cemetery. I was very pleased with his professionalism and caring personality. I was sold on his customer service as well as the price for a plot. In addition, this cemetery allows payment plans with 0% interest. My husband and I walked out satisfied and happy. Burried my brother here. Its a very nice welcoming cemetery. Its always clean and a very peaceful place to visit.

It angers me I have to even give this place one star. This place is absolutely disgusting. My mother in law passed away on 12/18/20. She left behind 5 sons, 14, 16, 18, 21, and 23. They all wanted her to be laid to rest at Holy Cross with her mother. I reached out to hold cross and wasn't contacted by a counselor for 2 weeks. I then asked her about their process at Holy Cross and she told me we only had one option, and one plot available. With Covid-19 she informed me we were not allowed to have music, no more than 20 people, no big bouquets, no canopies, no doves, and so on and so forth... She specifically stated "you get to say your last words and we have to move on to the next family because we are extremely busy". I said okay. This woman I spoke to name Anna was very inconvenient to work with. I had to Call, Email, and leave multiple voicemails. She was very hard to understand over the phone and had an extreme lack of grammar through emails. After going back and forth with this woman for over a month, we finally scheduled my mother in laws service on February 1st 2021 at 12:00pm NOON. When we arrived there was NOTHING prepared. This woman Anna scheduled my mother in laws service for THE WRONG TIME. We then were able to get some help from a very loud argumentative employee. (Mind you we are trying to grieve and lay our mother to rest while their employees are yelling and arguing over walkie talkies). We then head down to the plot, with a big orange cone over top two men pull up in a FILTHY work truck, hop out and grab a DISGUSTING old shovel out of the back of their work truck and begin to dig a hole. They then take her urn, stepping on and crushing every flower in sight and cover her. They throw their shovel in the back of the truck, and drive away. At this point we are in complete disbelief of how unprofessional and insensitive the employees at Holy Cross cemetery are so we decide to head home. On our way out, we start seeing multiple services. 30+ vehicles. Music playing, big easels with large bouquets on them, canopy's, many chairs out, full blown services. I emailed Anna to express my frustration and concerns. She told me "Those services cost more money". Which angered me even more because money wasn't the issue, I was informed from the beginning COVID-19 was the issue. I was never offered larger packages, and different plots. I told her TWO SEPARATE TIMES that I would like for her supervisor to reach out to me, she never did. No surprise. I then decide to let it go, because it was all set and done and I am tired of dragging on this chapter of my life with my family every day. But yet again, another horrible experience from Anna at Holy Cross coming our way. It's now time for the contract to be signed for the name plate. I've lost count of how many times Anna emailed me a contract to be signed with the wrong information on it. (Mind you the only information on it was her name, birthdate, and the day she was sent to heaven.) how can you mess up such little information? She got the birthdate wrong, death date wrong, incorrect spelling of name, etc... i received at least 5+ contracts with misinformation. Her name plate has yet to be placed. I'm sure there are many details I have forgotten because this whole situation has been such a blur. But what I do know, is Anna should be FIRED, and if you are considering Holy Cross Cemetery, RUN FROM HELL. read more

I really regret picking this cemetery! The management,employees and ground keepers suck! At first we were happy with the crew that was there but once the new crew started it all when bad! Management is the worse but more disappointing is the people above management. I dont understand how a cemetery likes to be on the news for negative fed instead of good fed. I had weeks of conversations with Jeffrey (pre-planning counselor)) and he was the most patient and understanding during our time of deciding on the best time to meet him. A meeting was arranged and pre-arrangements were made. Without hesitation our family recommends Jeffrey for any type of counseling for this ultimate need. Words to describe him are patient, kind, understanding and respectable. My grandparents are buried here is all of my father and many family members. We are Catholic and we live in Chino and Chino Hills and Brea California however most of our family is buried here. It is not the best location however every time I come visit my grandparents I have this really awesomeexperience at tranquility and peace. My family has lived in this area since the 1900s out the cemetery is very old I even have my great great grandfather buried here is well on the old side. I've never had any problems here and I enjoy bringing my five into-year-old niece is here to show them that the cemeteries a peaceful place not a scary place. I have been into the office one time and the staff was very friendly and helpful. As I stated before I live in orange county now but whenever I come to Chino to visit my family I always stop by the cemetery to see my grandparents and my dad. I just find it so peaceful and it's never scary when I come there is always security making sure that there's no weird people lurking around. This is really important to me especially because I didn't make room. As they assisted to raise me and they're buried on the old side so it's not as crowded as the newer side and the security guard still manages to come by and check up on us. In all the years that my family has been coming here for a funeral and burial's and what not I had never seen it vandalized or anything super bad or anything of that nature. I have however, seen a group of gangster guys at one point, but as I stated the security contacted the police and I have never seen them here since so it makes me feel better that the rif raff problem was nipped in the bud. This is a very peaceful and tranquil place for people to come it is at their level is I have passed on. I enjoy it here very much. And if anyone is reading this just to let you know during daylight savings hours they close at 6 PM even if on the website or other links say they close at five after March 12 they close at 6 PM just to let everyone know read more
