I originally went to Dr. Attarans office around 2019. I spoke with him about my space I had in my ribs after giving birth to two kids. He was very charming. I reached out to schedule with the office then they took my payment and was supposed to call me back with an appointment. I called them a few times and inquired about an appointment and they always said they will call me back. I then went back into the office because the office staff stated I needed a new appointment for him to look again. I believe that was in 2021. I went into the office, after working out in the gym and feeling better about my body, and the doctor stated he will have to cut even more then before. After that, they was suppose to call me with an appointment date and I still didn't hear anything from them. I call every year 2-3 times a year and I now want my deposit back because he obviously don't have the time to do the procedure, and the office would rather call me back instead of offering me an appointment when I call. I was told today that the office manager is never in the office and I won't be able to contact Nancy. Then I won't get a refund even though I did my part in trying to schedule but once they got my money, they just forgot about me. His office is rude and unprofessional. My mother had a tummy tuck done with him. She was unhappy with the results. She went in 3 times after her surgery for check ups and every single time he would say something different. He would not listen to her concerns and disregarded her pain. We ended up going to another cosmetic Surgeon to get it fixed. I've been several times for Botox treatment: I have deep creases in between my brows, 3 deep lines on my forehead and I had also read that Botox can be helpful for TMJ issues. I'm usually very uncomfortable under the needle but Dr Attaran's attention to detail and slow, methodical approach really put me at ease. I'm so happy with my results- he made sure to place the Botox ST I would not have any residual creases. This is a long overdue review. I had a substantial surgery done by Dr. Attaran back in 2018 and every day I am grateful I chose to do the procedure and for who I chose to do it for me. Dr. Attaran was professional, caring and helped inform me on the options and probable results of my procedure. I met with him several times in the months leading up to the operation to answer any new questions, check on my status and to finalize the desired results. He showed me many examples of similar procedures he has done, discussed the potential risks and potential scars, recommended slight changes in my diet and lifestyle to help me recover faster. It was an 8+hour operation for me. The team had the facility prepared, they prepped me and helped me relax for 45 minutes before starting and confirmed the plan with me. It was clear the whole team was dedicated to me for the whole day to get this done right. I am still pleased with the results and recommend Dr. Attaran to my friends and family. My results have been excellent, and I almost can't find my own scars two years later. This is my first yelp review and I felt compelled to write this one! This is actually long over due. First of all I had breast implants 23 years ago by Dr. Hegg. He was an incredible surgeon and person. He cared about his patients and really listened to what they wanted. In 2016 one of my saline bags ruptured and I needed to have both my bags removed and input new ones. I went to Dr. Attaran since his office is in Dr. Hegg's old office. My husband and I had a consultation with Dr. Attaran and I explained that I wanted the same size and results that I experienced with Dr. Hegg. He advised that I should have a breast lift as well. He would make an incision under my breast and input the bags in that way. I was concerned because Dr. Hegg put them in through the areola. I figured since I was also getting a lift that would make since. A few days later I had an appointment to talk about specific size and type of implant. He showed me two pictures on his laptop. One was of a woman with what looked like natural breasts. Then he showed me a picture of a woman that was dressed provocatively and asked me to choose which one i liked better. He pointed to the provocatively dressed women and said this is porn. And said you probably like her better. I should have known that was my clue to run. I continued with the surgery. I saw the doctor a lot because my left breast was swollen. i saw Dr. Attaran at his Danville office and he told me to wait a few days then let him know how it was. I called his office (in San Leandro) and told them what was going on with my left breast. They scheduled me for a procedure to drain some liquid from my breast which cost me another $1200 on top of the $12,000 I already spent. When I went in, he looked at me and said why didn't you let me know how back this is. i explained that I went to his Danville office a few days ago. He claimed he never said to wait a few days. Ultimately, my right breast is great, however my left is hard and as my family jokes (Its the odd couple). Now I have to strategcly dress with my breasts in mind. I cannot wear tight fitting tops because it is obvious that one breast is 1 1/2" than the other. i did go back to the doctor and he told me he informed me about the risks and if I wanted to have them re-done, it would cost another $11k. I'm done with him. i am currently seeking another doctor that can correct me problem STAY AWAY FROM DR. ATTARAN. HE DOESN'T DELIVER WHAT HE PROMISES!!! Find another cosmetic surgeon; there are so many out there. Do your homework and really talk and listen to the doctor!!!!! read more

This surgeon is incredible. I can not recommend him highly enough. I won't get into details but I severed a tendon in my hand and Dr. Attaran performed the "re connection". I was on only on local anesthesia and to be perfectly honest, I could have slept through the procedure, no pain. My hand is as good as new now. I felt his fee was very reasonable and he also made sure I came back for a few check-ups after the procedure, very helpful. His staff is excellent as well. I totally agree with Chele B and Denise P. The worst decision I could have made was walking into Dr. Attaran's San Leandro office 02/2019 for an inner thigh reduction due to a disfigurement. On the first visit he was nice and knew exactly what I wanted and said that he could make this happen. On the second visit he was nodding off to the point I had to ask him was everything okay. I was told he had taken some medicine hence I should have taken off right then and there "the writing was on the wall". Needless to say, after the procedure I complained of not enough being removed, he explained that it was too early and that I was still swollen, so we would revisit it in March. Well March came and the story changed to him telling me that he did what I paid him to do so I disappointingly said forget it. Looking in the mirror all these years later my inner thighs are still disfigured and now I'm on my way to a fantastic Dr. to correct Dr. Attaran's work. This is the worst experience I've had in my life!!!! Before procedure I asked what I would look like. Dr stood behind me, pulling face & neck up. That is not even close to what I received. My 2nd visit (first w/Dr) I was told he would never work on me again if I paid $100,000. NICE Yelled at me loudly. I started shaking & ran out of office. After I had not seen any improvement having gone through a mid lift he told me I needed something else which if so I would have done. I do all or nothing & nothing I do is half ass. Turns out I do not need the next procedure At the beginning, middle & after kept showing me other pictures which was unimportant to me. We are all different. Probably used pics form another site. I took pics after & no differences except my new deformities. I'm so very said at my whole experience. The friend who took me & picked me up was treated poorly. Dr was no present on my 1st appt after surgery. Surgery center in SL was very old & dingy. I almost backed out. There was no reasoning with Dr. There is more I can say but for now this is the quick version.I can't stand it anymore that I will get this I must pay to have the botch job redone. read more

Dr. Attaran worked with all 3 of my sisters 10+ years ago, and they were all pleased. So, when I decided to have a minor procedure, I went to him. From my experience, he is clearly NOT the doctor he once was. I was not fully happy with my results, so i met with him about a month ago, we decided on revisions he would make, and the fee was reasonable. Based on that conversation, i felt good about my surgery date and our plan. Yesterday was my surgery, and I left without getting surgery,and frightened by the aggressive nature of this "dr". He didn't remember what we were doing. I asked that he pull out any notes he took so we could go over the plan. His description of the scars I would be left with was not the same as what we had discussed the previous visit. I asked if he had any photos I could look at for reference, which I think is perfectly reasonable. During the span of this 15 minute conversation doctor attaran became clearly agitated by my questions, and concerns. Instead of taking this time to make me feel comfortable and confident, he begrudgingly gave me short answers. He told me the questions I asked were as if "I asked a mechanic if he's ever put gas in a car before." I'm sorry- this is my body not a car you're working on. At this point I did not feel comfortable at all with following through with the procedure. I communicated my concerns with Dr. Attaran, which is when he told me that I could go somewhere else, and that he would give me a full refund. I really didn't have a choice at this point but to agree and leave, as there was no way I was going to allow this man to put me under anesthesia. The trust was gone. As I was standing there nude changing out of my gown to my personal clothes, Dr. Attaran barged back into the room leaving the door wide open behind him. He moved towards me very aggressively, and proceeded to slam the cancellation policy sign in the locker I was getting my belongings from. The sign would have hit me in the face had I not moved my head back- I was terrified. He then through gritted teeth and with his hand raised in a fist told me to read what I signed, to get out and that he didn't want to see me there again. I thought he was going to strike me. I was frightened, shaking, and in tears. I couldn't get out of the office quick enough. When I approached the reception desk, his wife who runs the front of the office, looked at me like she knew EXACTLY what had happened. I will never forget the way she looked at me. I didn't know what to do, so I walked to the hospital that is in the same parking lot that his office is in. I explained to them what had just happened to me, in tears, still in disbelief at my experience. The doctor there encouraged me to make a police report and to contact the American board of plastic surgery to make a formal complaint. I can only speculate as to why he behaved in the way that he did towards me on that day. I believe that once Dr. Attaran created his own in office operating room, and no longer needed to rent a room from the hospital in the same parking area, that this may have dropped his entire quality of work and professionalism. In the hospital, he would still have to abide by all of the hospitals ethics standards and policies- since he has his own operating room, he's free to do whatever he pleases without having to worry about someone else watching over him. I also know that his father was very ill during this time, but that is still no excuse for this behavior- you don't take your personal life struggles out on your patients. I urge anyone who has had a negative experience to say something, because I guarantee you this behavior is not new. I hope this is helpful. Please go somewhere else. read more

I have gone to Dr. Attaran numerous times over the years, and have always left satisfied. He always gives his honest opinion and I'm assured I'm getting the best possible care. Many of my family members also go to him because they appreciate his knowledge and his kind bedside mannerism. He really takes his time to explain what to expect from the procedure, and is never in a rush to send you out the door. The office manager is always willing to work with you to make your experience as easy as possible. You can tell Dr. Attaran is not in it for the money and always charges reasonably for his work. I first saw Dr. Attaran in September 2007 for a consultation. I really liked his bedside manner, but wasn't ready to go ahead with surgery. In July 2008, I decided to bite the bullet (due in large part to Melinda's friendly personality) and had a tummy tuck. The results Dr. Attaran achieved were nothing short of miraculous. I came away feeling like that "girl I always wanted to be". I almost cried the first time I put on a bikini and saw my new belly. I have since had liposuction on my hips to help smooth out some of the other problem areas. Dr. Attaran is very honest and intelligent. His sense of humor is very dry, but funny. He is honest and straightforward; this is not a doctor who will do needless surgery on you. If you don't needs something that you want done, he will flat out tell you it's a waste of money. Dr. Attaran is my surgeon of choice. Both times I have had procedures with him, there has literally been NO BRUISING. I was and am amazed at the results he achieved. One small complaint though, be patient. Dr. Attaran has a tendency to run a bit late, but his treatment of you while you are under his care negates this in it's entirety. He made me feel very comfortable and helped me have clear, realistic expectations. He performed liposuction of my abdomen, flanks and fat grafting to the butt. I had a small butt, and he helped me expect that I wouldn't have a Kim K butt, but just a fuller one and that's exactly what happened! A year later I went from using size small for underwear and swim bottoms to medium and it does look fuller! I'm very happy with my results. I went to Dr Attaran in August 2014,specifically for Botox shots on between my brows, and when I did not get the results (no change whatsoever!!), I normally get when I get the shots from Dr. Hegg (who's practice he has taken over after Dr. Hegg's untimely death), I went back to Dr. Attaran - only to find out that he had injected me with some cheap stuff not approved by FDA and without consulting me first and without my approval to use any other product other than Botox. OK... so had previous work done (nose - back in 2007) and was very happy w/ the surgery, the doctor, the experience as a whole. So when it was time to for my new boobs... yes - I said boobs... well - Dr. Attaran was the man to see. He spent almost 2 hours with me, discussing the procedure, taking measurements, showing pictures of other augmentation surgeries (good and bad), discussing over and under the muscle pros/cons and even spent some time telling me that he didn't think that I really needed to do anything at this stage (at first glance, that all changed once he started measuring my frame and such)... anyway - when all was said and done - he and I came to an agreement that it would happen... and in less than 2 weeks! I'm not one to wait around for something so exciting to happen!! I can't even begin to say how ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED I am with the girls... I told him a solid "D" - no less... and to actually "err on the side of bigger"... and he certainly delivered... it's been almost 8 months since my surgery - and I'm still a "DD" (same as the day after my surgery). My first procedure with Dr. Attaran was a rhinoplasty, which was something I'd wanted to do for a long time but couldn't bring myself to. Finally based on recommendation I scheduled a consultation, and he knew exactly what I should have done without me having to tell him. It was my first surgery so I was very anxious but the staff made me feel at ease. It went smooth and painless and I could not have been happier with my results. Before I could never take photos front view because my nose appeared so wide on camera. Now it's all I take, I absolutely love my nose! I had such an overall positive expereince with Dr. Attaran and his office that I was compelled to sign up for Yelp and write about it. I decided ten years ago that I wanted breast implants. I am a nurse. I have spent the last decade researching my options and saving money. A friend of mine, who is also a nurse, recommended I see Dr. Attaran as she was very pleased with her experience with him. I had already researched other surgeons in the area and was frequently turned off by their pretentiousness in their advertising or descriptions from friends/coworkers. From the minute I met Dr. Attaran I felt at ease. He spent an hour and a half conducting my initial consultation. He throroughly explained the procedure and my options. It was very apparent that he was a knowledgable and meticulous practitioner. I had appointments lined up with other surgeons which I decided to cancel because I was certain I had found the right doctor. He spent one hour at my pre-op appointment, making sure that they two of us had the same vision for my desired outcome. At the surgery center (which was very well run -- I even received a phone call from the anesthesiologist the night before my surgery to see if I had any questions), Dr. Attaran's bedside manner and professionalism calmed by fears. I am completely happy with my results. I have the breasts I wanted for a very long time. I never once felt uncomfortable, rushed, or ripped off. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I was interested in saline breast implants. Upon inquiring about them he literally said, "they are disgusting; they look and feel like shit." Then continued to say that he is a "man" and when he touches a woman he wants her to feel like she is real, not like that garbage! Then he said that if we were to place the implants, he would put them on top of the muscle. I looked at him very puzzled and explained that the other surgeon that I had seen said that he would go under the muscle. Dr. Attaran said, "good, go to him and let him turn you into a circus freak." These were all of his words. What kind of professional would say such a thing? I was completely shocked! He then quoted me a price that was $1000.00 more than I was quoted over the phone by his staff. When I told him this he said, "they lied" and walked away. I left his office in tears! I have NEVER been treated so poorly by someone who is suppose to be a professional. I seriously think this man needs medication! read more
