I suggest new training for people who clearly aren't cut out for customer service. Update: after speaking with the manager at this location, it is abundantly clear that our experience was NOT what Kristen expects from her employees. She was thoroughly professional, and followed up by investigating the video recordings in the store to fully understand what happened.

Yelp review #1234!…read more Double masked and taking a break from working from home, I decided to check out the grand opening today (2/25/21) for HomeGoods at 130th and Aurora. It is located between PetSmart and Sprouts. Received a giant shopping bag upon entry, thanks! Never been inside a HomeGoods, brand new so very tidy and orderly. Places like Bed, Bath, and Beyond or Marshall's can be a bit messy in contrast. It has a a little bit of this and that of various home stuff and things. Perfect to refresh or fully outfit your home without breaking the bank. I was debating between a soft spring throw or a sauce pan, the latter wins! I zoomed past the vast kitchen gadgets and utensils and anything bunny related, resist impulse weaknesses. But roamed each aisle and got some note to self decorating ideas. My style seems to be post dormitory with a wee bit of orderly hoarder, lol. Prices were reasonable and a terrific variety. Check it out you're in the North Seattle. HomeGoods is located conveniently west of the I-5 N 130th exit or Hwy 99/Aurora whether by car or bus.

But what really sets Stan apart from others, is that when we just had some of our bamboos "dieing" after many years of nurturing them, he actually took the time to give us advice when there was no sale involved. He told us to water our bamboos more and the leaves would come back on the bamboos that are still not completely dead, instead of cutting them all down now as we feared that we had to do. This saved our day, after all the hard work we have done to finally get our beloved bamboos to full size. So Stan is not only a good businessman but also a nice person who believes in taking care of old customers and helping people in need of his expertise!

What hasn't changed is Stan's generosity with his time, his knowledge, and that personal touch. Even though we were there for a small purchase, he gave us a full tour of his bamboo inventory, his personal grove, and even popped over to his adjacent sunflower and bean garden. The whole visit was charming and unmistakably "Stan." He's a true Seattleite: open & friendly, deeply committed, and clearly passionate about what he does. Whether you're starting a grove, looking for privacy screening, or just curious in general about bamboo, he'll likely pass along more knowledge than you ever expected, be it advice on containment, growing habits, or simply his thoughts on life in general. Stan is truly a pillar of old Seattle, so support him while you still can. His is the kind of local business that makes Seattle the delightfully quirky and one-of-a-kind place that it is.
