I hired Home Comfort to install a ductless heating and AC unit back in 2017. They come every 6 months for maintenance. They are reliable - ALWAYS. And recently my AC stopped working during a heat wave. They came out asap and Scott helped me through the challenges of figuring out the problem and getting everything working again. I had them out to do duct cleaning. The supervisor came out before I hired them and said it was a simple job, he did not foresee any issues. First, the positives - everyone was very nice. Now the negatives-  1.I asked for their most experienced crew and I was promised this certain team (I even verified a few days before as well). They sent a different team.  2. They do not sanitize the brushes and wands that go into your ducts which means they are introducing into your ducts everything from previous jobs- which could be rodent droppings and urine, dust mites, mold, diseases from dead animals, etc. I had the foresight to know this and asked them to please sanitize the brushes and wands first. I hope they did. 3. After they finished, they could not get the system back up and running. They tried for an hour and then I called the supervisor and he walked them through it (an extra hour of my time and a lot of angst on a Friday afternoon with 95 degree forecast over the weekend). 4. After they left I noticed the grilles were not on right (turned the wrong way, old paint showing where not lined up right, and screws missing), the return register was tightened so much all four corners were bent, the plaster was cracked on many sides of the registers and the return, the screws to the furnace were not tightened, the door where the filter goes was not shut tight. They came back out to fix what they could (another 2 hours of my time), but thank goodness I checked and noticed. 5. And I am not sure my system was left in the same working order it was in, the air flow actually seems diminished instead of better. read more

I cannot recommend this company. I called for an annual maintenance on a 4-year-old heat pump. I was not experiencing any problems. The technician said my outside unit had no electrical wiring to it, and he stated it was non operational. I said that was impossible as I've been running it for three years. He said it must be running on auxiliary heat. That is not true, as my thermostat displays when auxiliary heat is running. He took so long trying to figure things out, that I was charged extra for "diagnostics." He left totally perplexed, and set up another appointment for a different technician to come out. I canceled that appointment, as it would only ring up another charge, and my unit was running perfectly! Home Comfort must have qualified technicians, but unfortunately I didn't get one. read more

My a/c fan stopped working and I was very concerned because replacing the fan can be quite expensive. Dan came out and quickly diagnosed the capacitor was out. The total bill was only $158. AMAZING SERVICE! Our thermostat literally exploded on the wall, flames & everything. We called Home Comfort, Bella was on call at the service desk. She immediately went into scheduling mode; as well as instantly contacting an electrician on the team. Team member Chris was extremely quick (5 min) in calling us to check on the status of the thermostat & mini explosion. Not only did I receive a speedy call but, Chris was at my house in under 30 min to check on the problem. He was then able to assess the trouble, quote me an estimate (very reasonable), & install an entirely new thermostat (that he left & came back for) in UNDER AN HOUR!! This company is unwilling to confirm if an assigned maintenance staff is vaccinated. Certainly when your indoors with seniors one would think safety would be a priority, and would accommodate with a vaccinated technician. The folks at home comfort were of no help in making this happen.This is from a long term customer with a multi year service contract.obviously little effort to assist a long term customer. read more

Since I was introduced to Home Comfort by my contractor during our remodel, I have had Home Comfort do everything! They are extremely reasonably priced and do excellent work (and my husband and I are extremely picky)!!! Each department has the greatest people from the department head to the highly skilled guys I'm happy to have in my home. They all have a sincere and respectful demeanor and I have full trust in them as people and experts in their own fields. The ladies at the front desk are incredibly helpful and earnest and you just know they're on your side. Jeremy Chamberlain and Jeremy Steele (and others) hooked up the incredibly complicated hydronic heated flooring system and did a beautiful job. Chamberlain and Ken also installed my fire place. Darryl and Nick from their electrical department are the only guys I'll have do electrical work! They installed the cable lighting in my living room, all of my upstairs game room, and some kitchen work too. Over the 3 months of the remodel they have done so much work I can't even name everyone they've sent out but they have all gone above and beyond and we would recommend them with total confidence. read more

I appreciated that they were always on time, and left everything in good order including vacuuming each day. I could not be more pleased and appreciative of the job these people did at my home and it is nice to have a warm house and a safe system throughout. I made an Appointment TWICE with their receptionist Jodi. She forgot to schedule anyone both times. I wasted two different mornings waiting for them to arrive. They never showed up or called. She said that the first missed appointment was not her fault but admitted that the second missed appointment WAS her fault. When I asked to speak to a manager she said he wasn't available and then had the audacity to say I would just have to find another contractor. If you call them and schedule an appointment, don't believe they will actually show up during the two hour window they give you....or even show up at all. read more

Home Comfort installed a Mitsubishi ductless heat pump system in the house I recently purchased. I shopped around and got three bids from SUB-approved contractors to start. The only company I was really comfortable with out of the initial three was unfortunately the most expensive by quite a bit, so I picked another off the list to get a fourth bid. Jake from Home Comfort came out quickly and did the bid, and answered a couple of follow-up questions. I was happy when their price came in at a reasonable spot, and liked that their quote had everything included with no subcontracting or allowances (electric, permits, etc). We scheduled an install date and they showed up the morning of as promised. Three guys working for about four hours had the system up and running. Their explanation of the operation wasn't very good... at least they left a manual, and admittedly a heat pump like this isn't rocket science. It took a litle bit of detective work afterwards to see what the deal was on getting the city out to inspect - probably should've been coordinated with the install so I didn't have to take a morning off a couple weeks later. The heat pump itself works great, and after the combination of utility company rebate, tax credits, and selling the old woodstove, it ended up costing only a couple hundred bucks. Sweet. Though it wasn't the best customer service experience that I've ever had, ultimately, Home Comfort did the work for the price they quoted on the timeline that they had promised. We're not talking about restaurants here -- for something like a heat pump, you want one that works and is a good value, and I think I got that. read more

We had water from our AC unit coming out of the ceiling and roof. In a panic my wife called and got ahold of Jeremy Steele. He freely offered advise over the phone just in case it was an easy fix that I was comfortable with. After I realized I was in over my head we called back and they sent Johnny who arrived promptly. We called close to closing time and while most places would immediately look for a way to charged after hours he didn't. He got right to it. Diagnosed the issue and moments later fixed it. I made an appointment to get our heat pump looked at as routine maintenance. Before that appointment time came, our water heater died. I called yesterday and they sent a technician, Chris, out later that day. He arrived at 5 pm and worked until 10:30 last night. The reason it took that long is that, after fixing the water heater problem (thermostat...didn't need to replace the heater), he stayed and did the heat pump inspection and maintenance that was scheduled for a week later! Fantastic service. Will be getting a yearly service contract with them and use them exclusively for our hot water and HVAC service. read more

Our air conditioner had been out for a couple of years and we decided that it was time to replace it before summer. Our furnace was still working but was 23 years old. We had multiple companies give us quotes. Chris from Home Comfort came out and quoted us on just the air conditioner and offered prices on a selection of furnaces if we decided to buy both. There was zero pressure to buy both and also zero pressure to buy the biggest and best of anything including the thermostat which we were fine having a lower end model of. In the end we decided to buy both the A/C and furnace. It was affordable (our highest quote from another company was nearly $8,000 more). Everyone working on the project was on time and professional. The Technician was very polite and knowledgeable. He was able to diagnose my problem quickly and accurately. However, I was charged $431.35 for a part that cost about $100. Some places had them for less. I understand labor cost are involved, but it took 15 minutes to install.The $79.00 trip fee was placed on top of that. I won't be calling them again. Update: After calling Home Comfort Heating and voicing my question over the price of parts - I was contacted by the office in order to resolve my concern. Apparently local distributor prices are higher - even to contractors - than internet prices! That huge disparity would certainly encourage customers to buy their own parts online for less than even a contractor could get them. Nonetheless, Home Comfort is tied to their local distributors and the price they have to pay them. With that said, they did reduce the price of the item that I had to pay and promised to reimburse me. I appreciate the effort they made to accommodate me and the speed to which they acted. read more

I would be weary about hiring this company. Not honest at all. I was told $89 for trip fee and diagnosis. After 10 minutes of tech arriving he wanted $96 more do keep diagnosing the "problem". After I was told after the initial fee they will only charge for parts or repair. Company doesn't even deserve one star. I should have read previous reviews on Google about there hidden fees. read more

Our furnace quit and they got to us in 2 days, everybody else was at least a week out. John showed up, a very nice young man who figured out the problem and explained it to me in layman terms, gave me a cost estimate and ordered the parts and told me when to expect him back to install the new heating unit, he came on time and installed the unit, left no mess, double checked the unit made sure it was working and heating. We will definitely be using them next time. read more

Would not use them again. - Price quoted for duct cleaning was twice what a competitor charged and more than anyone I called - They did the install, and put a screw into a water pipe instead of using glue. As a result, rust leaked into the electronics panel for years. Fortunately a competitor caught it and alerted me to it before the panel was destroyed. When I confronted the company, they fixed it, but insisted there was nothing wrong with that method, despite having the damage right in front of them! They refused to clean or replace the housing which is now full of rust. - The zone damper never worked. We only realized what was wrong after the initial labor warranty ran out (but not the parts warranty). They quoted us $750 to fix it, even though their own mechanic admitted they had likely broken it during installation !!! - When I was advised that they should cover it regardless of the warranty if it was an installation error, I had them come back. Suddenly they quoted me $200 for the same job (which they should have corrected for free), and they had no explanation for why their other technician (from their own company!) had quoted me $750. Clearly they were trying to get money out of me for work that did not need to be done. read more

I wanted to comment on the people I worked with at Home Comfort. I hired them to replace my furnace and air conditioning unit. From my first contact to schedule a estimator to the actual crew coming to remove old equipment and installation of new equipment their attitudes were always professional and courteous. They bent over backwards to work around our families needs and schedule. I just had their technician Shane here to figure out why furnace wasn't working at capacity. Turns out my twenty five year old exhaust vent pipe was originally installed wrong and had excessive water in it. Short story is Shane new what to do and handled it in short order and didn't charge us for repair. Can't beat the service. If I were looking for heating or air conditioning repair or replace look no further. read more

After the brutal summer of 2014 we decided to have air conditioning installed. A friend recommended Home Comfort & for good reason. Jake came out to do the bid & was very knowledgeable & gave us options. After an inspection revealed some damage to our 20+ year old heating systems we decided to have it replaced in addition tothe air conditioning. We were able to use the existing duct system for heating & air & a heat pump was installed outside for the air conditioning. They worked quickly, just took a 1 1/2 days to have everything completed. The staff was friendly, professional & polite. We are SO pleased with the results. Home Comfort's bid was less than another company. I highly recommend Home Comfort for your HVAC needs. read more

The Best! I did my homework and had 3 bids. Home Comfort was the best! Jake McCall was excellent to work with. I had them totally reinsulate the floor of my 900 square foot cabin on the McKenzie. They pulled out a 20 year old gas furnace and installed a dual zone Mitsubishi back in Sept 2014. I got $1000 rebate from Lane Electric on the heat pump, and 20% back on the floor insulation( another great company) too! Anyway, they not only removed old insulation, put in new with nylon scrim to keep critters out, put in new laundry plumbing ( a pro job) and ran 240 V electric, but the Heat pump installation was perfect and nice looking. Jake was excellent to work with for the whole job, so was there crew foreman! My average bill is $70 per month now! The heat pump really works!!!!!! Now, I am not there all the time, and cabin is only 900 sq feet, but still, last January, old electric furnace was $220 for the month!...so ..huge savings. And...it heats quickly...and I also have AC now! Their price was competitive, but their customer service and friendliness was excellent, and the work, superb! I am recommending them for the 3 cabins next to mine. I am glad I went with 2 zones instead of 1 for the one bedroom cabin. Mitsubishi is the name in heat pumps! Home Comfort is the name in heating, cooling, electric and plumbing! It was worth every penny I spent! read more
