Communication, follow-up, expertise.. was severely lacking. Very disappointing after spending over 20k on installation of a brand new heat pump with Peter. It Failed after a year, 4k more expenses with him and then failed a year later again. Many many texts and phone calls over three months and they did not resolve the issue with their installation. Finally we gave up after the incredibly poor follow up and had another company take care of it, and it was all handled promptly as they quickly resolved the problem related to their installation. read more

This is by far the best company I have dealt with. He was so quick and accommodating. I struggled to make a certain payment amount each month and he happily reduced my payments. I then had some financial hardships and wasn't able to make payments for well over 6 months. Once again he was so understanding. Today I was finally able to pay the amount in full. I only had $1,000 and with tax it would've been $1,107. We had to wait a while for parts to come in due to supply chain issues during the pandemic, but Peter kept me posted throughout the process. -Installation was just one day, vs 2-3 days that other companies quoted - Very competitive price compared to other options - Quality and workmanship was excellent - We had some building limitations that impacted the design; for example, we couldn't center the AC unit above the window because we didn't have enough space to the ceiling, but it looks fine. I reached out to 11 companies for an estimate to get an outdoor AC unit installed for our existing central air system. Out of those 11, only 9 got back to me and 6 were able to give me an estimate within a reasonable amount of time (during late July at the peak of summer). Peter from Home Comfort Heating & Cooling was not only prompt and courteous, but was also able to give me a quote after sending him ample and detailed pictures of our set up. This might not be possible with every estimate, but ours was a new construction home with ductwork and refrigeration lines already ran. I did my due diligence and checked that Home Comfort Heating & Cooling was licensed, bonded, and insured on the WA State Department of Labor and Industries website. And I also checked that he had no negative complaints on the Better Business Bureau. I was willing to take a chance with Home Comfort even though the company is newer than other companies (I.e. Bob's Heating says that have been around since 1957 - but the age of a company wasn't a metric that was high on my list of reasons to choose a company). After I received quotes from other companies and spoke with Peter on the phone, I decided to go with Home Comfort. I called on a Friday at 4:15pm and was able to make an appointment literally for the next day, even though he typically doesn't work on Saturdays. Peter and Victor from Home Comfort showed up early in the morning and were ready to get to work. He assessed the situation and was able to give honest information on the placement of the unit and how the builder took shortcuts in installing some of the outlets around the refrigeration lines near the furnace and leading outside. Overall the install took about 4 hours and Peter and Victor didn't mind that I hung around and bugged them with questions. When our furnace went out in advance of the current cold snap it was imperative that it get repaired. Of the several businesses I contacted only two replied. Both were responsive. One scheduled an appointment for the following morning. When I talked with Peter at Home Comfort he said he'd have someone out to our house that afternoon. The afternoon passed without further word. By evening I didn't anticipate seeing anyone that day. Shortly thereafter I got a text from Peter noting that they were running late, but he would be there at 6:40PM He arrived at 6:41, diagnosed the problem, said he needed to order a part. Early the next morning, approx. 7:30, I got a text from Peter informing me he'd have a repairman at the house at 9AM. The furnace was up and working before 10AM. Peter helped install my AC right before the heatwave. My place is a townhome, and I don't want the pump in anyone's way. Peter and his team spent some time investigate and came up with several options for me to choose. The final result was great, it was clean and subtle when viewing from outside. They installed everything in one day...that's a plus! : 1. Peter usually responds very fast, but sometimes the response is slower and I would be worried if my appointment is scheduled for real or not. 2. City official came to check the installation after the job is done as part of the standard process, there was a minor issue to be adjusted. I waited few weeks to get them back on site to adjust it. I don't really mind it because it was a minor issue, and I also agreed to wait a week or two (so they can install AC for people who suffered the heatwave) Overall, they're very professional, patient, get things done really quick, and with reasonable price. They spent time to find solutions to my many requirements (has to be subtle, pretty, etc) AC is working very well, so I'd recommend to others. read more

Peter replaced our tank water heater with a tankless one. He also gave us a quote for replacing our furnace and said he will do it in a month but he never did the job even after I followed up multiple times. After 3 months, we also noticed his water heater installation job is flawed: the pipes are leaking and the exhaust duct that they tapped from our furnace intake duct to save their time is against the code. read more

I called a dozen furnace repair people when my furnace quit during this snow. I received no call backs or help, I'm sure everyone in Seattle was at max capacity. I messaged a place on Yelp (while on hold with another) and got an excellent response and an appointment two days out, and then several other messages from other repair people. Peter at Home Comfort messaged me and when I asked if he could sooner, he said he could the next morning. Victor arrived in the one hour window given, figured out it was my thermostat, replaced it on the spot. Explained to me a bunch of things in a simple, straightforward manner, but never patronizing. He just left (in his own truck, to manage the snow) and I couldn't be more pleased with the service. We needed AC installed pronto this summer. Home comfort and heating came through. They had someone out for a quote in a couple of days (versus the weeks that everyone else was telling me) and they scheduled an install for the next week. It was a little pricy, but I figure that was due to the seasonal demand (we had a record-breaking heatwave this summer - 2021). When it was time to switch over to heat, our heating system didn't turn on. Home Comfort sent out a tech the day after I called them and the tech did some troubleshooting to get it working. Didn't charge me for the call, either. Gave them four stars because they had to reschedule the install several times, the price, and the heating system initially not turning on when we needed, but other than that I'd recommend them. read more

Could have told me prior to the appointment date that they don't service commercial buildings when I live in an apartment and was unaware that my residential unit's AC was considered a commercial unit. Instead waited till it was 25 minutes into the scheduled time & after I've left a phone call and 2 follow up text messages. Would not recommend. In spite of its tiny size, I and six of my neighbors hired Home Comfort to install mini-split HVAC systems in our condo units because the firm was recommended highly by a Mitsubishi equipment distributor and had received 5-star ratings from 11 of 12 Google reviewers. After taking 44 days to provide bids and sign contracts, however, Home Comfort's principal, Petr Mironets, reneged on all seven of the contracts. On his first visit the young contractor seemed responsive, confident, knowledgeable, and agreeable to the specifications and contract terms we were requesting. In the weeks and days before the start of installation, however, he became less and less responsive. He repeatedly failed to deliver bids and sign contracts when he said he would. He said he'd provide pricing within a week of his initial visit; instead it took him 25 days. It then took him another 19 days to finish reviewing the contracts and sign them. On the evening before the scheduled start of installation, we learned that he had failed to obtain the required permits and a send a promised drawing of the system. He also mentioned that he might not honor his fixed contractual prices. On the morning of the scheduled start, he failed to show up on time, had still not gotten one of the required permits, and abruptly postponed installation until the following day. On that next day, he showed up an hour late, realized that he was still not ready to begin the installation, and realized he might not even be able to install the systems as he had agreed. He postponed the installation again and left the jobsite. Later that day he abandoned all seven contracts by email, saying he could not abide by the terms of his contracts -- even though he'd had 48 days to review drafts and 9 days to review the final versions. It appeared that he signed the contracts without seriously intending to abide by their terms, and perhaps without even reading them. read more

Was scheduled for annual maintenance. The technician, Victor, who showed up refused to wear a mask. I explained I have a baby and didn't want to run the risk of her getting sick. He didn't care. He still refused and then said he didn't think he would be a good fit and someone else should come do my maintenance. And then left. Incredibly unprofessional. read more

The technician was at my door the next morning when I woke up (Victor) and he was able ta walk me through all the service options very clearly. We had three Mitsubishi wall units and three ceiling units installed in our house by Home Comfort Heating and Cooling supported by two outdoor splits. We chose them because the quote was competitive (not highest nor lowest) but Peter gave us a lead time of about 10 days and said they could get the project done in two. Both the soonest and the shortest install time. The day before the instal, Peter informed me that some parts were in Tacoma so they would start about 1 pm. His whole crew was there, ready and unpacked at one and they started when Peter showed up with the last parts and got the crew going, about 1:30 and he assures me the inside will be done today and they will finish on Friday. When I politely asked if they could be done today, he spoke with Yuri, Victor and Roman briefly and told me they would do their best. 5 hours later, at 7 on a Thursday night, they were closing the doors to the trucks a leaving with the job complete. I waited until the city inspector came and gave the thumbs up before I posted this review so we have been enjoying our new system for a few days now. We are very happy with the product and how it works in our house. Very quiet and very easy to use. That's for the hardware. The service was outstanding. From showing up right on time for the first walk through, to providing the estimate before he said he would, to great communication with myself and his crew, Peter exceeded our expectations at every turn. My wife got home at 6:30 and was blown away that they would be done in one day. My only regret is that I didn't get one of the gentleman's name but I think he may have been Peter's dad, to thank him by name. Clean, quiet, and very professional. read more

I waited six months to write this review, but the work Peter and his crew (family) was absolutely top notch. We were dealing with an old oil furnace with a leaking underground tank and needed to make a decision fast. My wife and I were interested in switching to a heat pump system for our house since we like to sleep really cool, but our kiddo doesn't. I was interested in finding a solution that would use existing duct work for our main floor then add an auxiliary unit to our converted attic bedroom. I did my research on parts and pieces and called 6 or so companies from Shoreline to the east side to down south in Auburn. Companies in Seattle were scheduling inspections a week and a half out or just never got back to me. I heard about Peter and his company from a good friend and gave him a call. He was out the next day to give an estimate. He thought my plan was possible and made sense then gave me a few different options between brands and comfort levels. All of which matched my expectations including an additional charge licensed, professional, and vetted installations. Other Seattle companies would not consider the in wall units or pushed us towards specific brands. Their quotes were double or triple Peter's with less reliable and cheaper brands. Additionally those quotes would require more electrical work and were a lot noisier (something important to us given close proximity of neighbors). It was an easy decision at that point. We went with Peter and saved over $14k. We were able to get top of the line Mitsubishi units installed the following day instead of other companies pushing Carrier units to be installed 2.5 months out... Peter's brother and father did most of the install work. They were very professional and even hung a sheet of drywall behind the air handler to help with sound proofing. It took about a day and a half to run all the lines and get the two units working, but man did the ac from the heat pump make everything worth it for my then pregnant wife. Now that kiddo is here we can keep his room warm and ours a freezer :) This team works fluidly, communicates quickly and effectively, and are open to questions and requests throughout the entire process. One thing I would like to call out is that even though WiFi controllers were out of stock during the install they set us up with a temporary thermostat to hold us over. Peter came over the following day to make sure we were both happy with the work before flashing was installed then once the final parts came in his brother completed the job. I do not regret this upgrade to our home at all. We're not reliant on oil for hvac any more. Our electricity bill didn't really increase over the summer months when we previously used a single window unit for our bedroom even though we now cool the entire house. And oil vs heat pump during the winter has been fairly comparable -- the reason I waited to write this review. I would not hesitate to call Peter in the future for any hvac or remodel project. He knows his systems well and will have open and frank conversations to find the best solution for your needs. He operates quickly and never overextends himself. Work estimates are clearly communicated and I never saw a timeline slip. Seriously keep up the good work! read more

Our home A/C unit stopped working on a Friday morning in July. After checking some basic things myself, I realized that it needed some expert repair so I started calling around. Everywhere I tried said they were booked out at least 1 or 2 weeks because of the heat. The last number on my list was Home Comfort, who said they would be available the very next Monday. Peter came to look at the unit as promised, quickly found the faulty cylinder on the compressor unit and replaced it with no trouble. Contacted this company on 02/12/2019 to schedule a service appointment to have my furnace looked at as it was no longer working. Peter answered the phone and was very friendly. I was surprised when he stated he had availability for somebody to stop by the next day at 1:00. Peter requested that I send my address and information to a phone number via text (not the number associated with the company) and stated somebody would be by around 1:00 on 02/13/2019. We never heard back from this company again nor did anybody show up.
