Very pleased with the food in our last order. Boneless spare ribs were really good, and a large portion. I had the Sesame Chicken which was an absolute delight and my husband had the Sweet and Sour Chicken which is always a win. We also shared a quart of Egg Fried Rice and an egg roll each. I was impressed with the fried rice, it is not that fake yellow rice that a lot of Chinese places try to pass off as fried rice now a days. The ordering process was relatively easy but required calling in the order as the online line wasn't working. Our order (for two) was ready in about ten minutes! This place is in downtown Saint Petersburg in the same plaza as the Publix. They have 30 different lunch specials. I ordered the shrimp with cashew nuts. They were only 4 shrimp. The small plastic container that the meal came in is about half the size of what I would get at other Chinese food places for their lunch special. Plus the price of the lunch special costs $1.50 more. I was disappointed by the sauce, food, service, and price. The bathroom had an out of service sign on it, but I saw an employee leaving it drying their hands. I was allowed to use it by pointing this out and it worked fine and was reasonably clean. It is obvious that they have posted the sign to deny patrons the use of the restroom. Save your money and try somewhere else! read more

The staff is super friendly, always greets me by name when I come in, I think that means I eat there too much. The food is very good and always consistent. Terrible Chinese food. Tastes so artificial and unauthentic. Reminds me of mall food. The food itself was very salty and doesn't taste fresh. Also the lady at the counter was so rude. I agree with the other Yelp reviews on how rude the lady working there is. She was yelling and snapping at the customers. Very disappointing. My wife ordered szechuan pork and I ordered kung pao chicken. The szechuan pork was made correctly, but the sauce was bland and there was no spice/heat. The king pao chicken had the right ingredients, but was made with the same sauce as the szechuan pork. The same bland, 'spiceless' sauce. So it was not what I ordered. I feel like this was done on purpose as a shortcut. We waited inside after ordering, so if they were out of the king pao sauce, they could have told us. This is my go-to chinese take out in St Pete. First off, is it authentic chinese food? No. Is it the best chinese food you ever had? Probably not. But, it's exactly what you want in an americanized chinese take out joint and the price is very reasonable for what you get. I always get the same service here by ordering via phone or online ahead of time and my order is consistently ready in 15 minutes. I've never eaten inside as it's not much of a dine in type of place. I give China Kitchen 5 stars because: 1. Service is lighting fast 2. The establishment is clean, plenty of seating 3. Either way, my recommendation is to get the General Tso's Chicken with plain Lo Mein. I usually get it for lunch (egg roll included) and am happy that I can split it to multiple meals. I was killing some time sitting in my car waiting for my husband to finish at an appointment so I ran in to grab a bite. B) Really surprised to find Wonton with Garlic Sauce ($4.95). These are something I've not seen in Chinese restaurants here or in the Northeast where I was raised. They​ are very similar to Szechuan Dumplings​ we had in Chengdu China. They were a little thicker dumpling dough but filled with a delicious meaty filling. The garlic sauce was very garlicky, slightly spicy and just a touch of sweetness. Overall pretty good. *WARNING they were very, very hot from a temperature standpoint. I have a burned lip to prove it. Food 8.5/10 Cleanliness 10/10. Like I said in past posts, I just moved to the city so I'm trying to find my staples for all my favorite cuisines. Now when it comes to Chinese I'd like to think My opinion matters a little more than others. Because I used to work for a mom and pop Chinese restaurant for 5 years. I know the ends and outs and what makes good (American Style) Chinese. Well, this place is that. Food is bang on for what you're expecting, not the best Chinese I've ever had but not even close to the worst. If 10 is the best this is probably an 8.5. I also like to rate my Chinese places on cleanliness. Tbh I like a little bit of grime in a Chinese kitchen, shows heart and soul. Not like disgusting grease and rats but like a little choppings from the egg roll mix on the floor never hurt no body ;) But this place has ZERO in the grime factor. Which they can not be deducted for because I also love a clean place. When ordering or picking up, you get a straight view of the kitchen. It's immaculate. Guy ringing me up who I'm assuming is the owner was also VERY nice. Will be back. And quite possible have found my Chinese takeout spot. read more

Definitely trying times for any restaurant. We got takeout after stay at home restrictions were lifted in St Pete. The restaurant is set up for Covid - employees separate from customers by plastic rap barrier. No touch delivery. Signs to instruct customers to pick up pens to sign receipts with a napkin. I would have been nice to have a tap pad to pay. No seating, of course. Take out only. Staff was friendly and prompt in handling my phone order. Food - its ok. It's your basic take out, store front Chinese restaurant. Nothing special. We had some typical dishes - egg roll, dumplings, beef with garlic, chop suey, wonton soup, and chow mein. No standouts. Basic takeout. Good, not great. But, in a pandemic, when your hankering for some Chinese take out, China Kitchen hit the spot. Thanks go to the staff and owners for working hard to be safe. I will say on the pros: what I ordered was good. I will say on the cons: the egg roll was half the size of what people would expect to be a normal eggroll. Ordering in downtown Saint Pete is give-and-take, this is a nice little Chinese to go place, however with a guaranteed business of being in downtown Saint Pete, smaller portions and higher prices than what you normally see at locals takeouts.. I live in uptown, however when I order here again? Probably not. It's worth more to me to drive an extra half mile for the same food at a cheaper price. read more

No complaints. I ordered Mongolian Beef w/fried rice. The rice is brown colored and a little bland but the Mongolian has a good flavor and has what I would consider the traditional ingredients. That being Beef, onions both green and white. It is very saucy and a bit on the spicy side which is not uncommon for Mongolian beef so if you like it mild you need to order it that way. All told at lunch this cost $13.27 minus tip. read more
