For all 3 times my AC unit had issues I felt like I got the trifecta of what you want in a company. Everyone shows up, they communicate well, they explain what is going wrong, they get you on the schedule quickly, and so far no one has minded that I follow them around trying to learn more, watch what they are doing, and answering my questions. The cost is in line with what I've seen others pay online but the dependability of someone actually showing up, figuring out the issue, and being able to repair it is much better than experiences I have heard about from others. I hope to not need their services again for a long time, but I have confidence if I do need them that they'll show up and be able to help!

He promised he'd stay involved and keep communication flowing. That held up briefly, then he completely disappeared... and so did his father, Robert Senior, who had "taken over" operations. I would hardly call his lack of communication and strong lack of customer service "taking over." My tenant dealt with ongoing AC issues for over a month, sometimes with no working air during hot summer days. Every time I was told the issue was resolved--whether it was the thermostat, the board, the float switch, or then a mysterious plumbing issue--something else would go wrong. I asked repeatedly for a clear breakdown of what was fixed, when, and by whom. I was told it would be emailed. I gave my email address, correctly spelled, six different times. Still never received the paperwork and it has now been almost THREE MONTHS. To make matters worse, when I tried to get clarity, Robert Senior called me and snapped. I remained calm and professional throughout, but the lack of accountability and the dismissiveness were inexcusable. At the end of the day, I had to micromanage every step just to keep things from falling apart. This company may be family-run, but the communication and professionalism were anything but warm or reliable. And this is putting all of the above lightly. I could post screen shots of all our text messages but that would take me a long time and I've already wasted more than enough on waiting around on these two. They said it would "Save me money," on future service or repairs. So, I joined. Months later, we had a filler hose on a washing machine leak. I called Cool Ray. They came out and recommended we replace the hoses with stainless steel hoses. I thought this was a good idea, so I asked how much that was going to cost and was told it was going to be $945. We have a large washer and a small washer, as well as a steam dryer, so there are actually 3 lines. I told the tech that I had a service so we should get a discount. He showed me with the discount it was $315 per line. I went ahead and had it fixed. The tech had the needed parts. He replaced the lines. Total time in the house was under 1 hour. After it was done, I checked the price on the 3 lines and was disturbed that I could have bought them for all for under $100. I can see charging $315 for a service call and installing 1 line, but when they charged the same for the additional 2 lines, I feel that I was ripped off. I sent a letter to the manager asking for a partial refund. I also called twice and asked to speak to the manager. Nobody ever responded so I cancelled my service contract. This was several months ago. I am still being charged the $9.95 per month and have to dispute it with my credit card company. Stay away from this company.
