We both shopped around, my husband went one way to look at things he was interested in, and I went a different way to explore the store. No one ever greeted or spoke to me. It was my first time in the store and they had lots of nice items. I did have questions about some items I wanted to purchase, but was never acknowledged the entire time. I walked through the store from the dishes, clothing, to the furniture side. One tall dark haired woman walked past me at least 4 times in the store but only spoke to my husband across the store a couple of times. I was very sad when I left the store. He told me so much about this store and I was excited to get there. Not sure what happened here, but I wonder if it was because we are an interracial couple that I was never acknowledged, but my husband was.

This was a good thrift store…read more Everything was neat and organized. The store is decorated well. There's a large section of furniture and housewares plus housewares and bric-a-brac. And some clothing, of course, and accessories. You have to wander around a bit to see everything as it's not grouped all together by categories. Some prices seemed a little high, but it is for a charity. They do offer sale discounts on different days on different items. And Wednesday is the senior day for 25% off. We did observe some local shoppers using a loyalty card as well. This card gives a discount to the users, but I'm not sure of the details. We didn't buy anything here when we visited, but as at all thrift stores the inventory changes often.

For the most part, I was pleased with their selection. The 40% off of Christmas items was a nice plus. When I approached the cashier; I asked if I could apply for their credit card as I would have gotten another 40% off. The cashier had not offered that when my items were totaled. The gal said it would not count on that days visit. I was disappointed as my total was over $250. She did not offer anymore details, and seemed put out at my request. I later found out that I COULD have saved 40% and an extra 20%. Needless to say; this led to my 1 star review. I can't say that I will never return there, but it certainly won't be my "go to" place. As a store that sells large items like rugs and furniture as well as large art and large potted…read morefake plants, the fact that they don't allow you to take the shopping cart outside is asinine! Also, the fact that they encourage you to leave your items inside or on the curb and then bring your car into the fire lane is even worse. Imagine blocking the fire truck from tending to an emergency while you are loading your items!! I believe wholeheartedly that this is something that needs to change. It's like saying to your customers, "we got you while you're inside spending your money with us but as soon as you have made your purchases, you're on your own!" They have no one helping you put things in the car, they don't care if it's raining, if your items get stolen, if you have a full cart...that's not their business. And that to me is insane! Burlington you really need to care more for your customers. Watching your elderly customers trying to lug huge bags to their cars is not a good look for you as a corporation. Hire a cart person!! Collect your carts! It's that's simple. I also had an experience with a so called manager. There was an item that was a little damaged. It still worked though. I had been looking for one for a long time and so I decided to get it and have my hubby fix it. It was full priced though and it was the last one. I know that in this situation the store will give a small discount so I asked the cashier. She called the manager. He arrived, she told him the issue. He said NOTHING just angrily punched in the 10% discount as if it was being taken from his personal pocket right then and there. I thanked him and he huffed away without uttering one word. Zero customer care at all!!! It's not like I was being rude or mean...I just knew that we'd have to make a repair to the item so cut the customer some slack! There should have already been a clearance sticker on the item to begin with.
