He is very unprofessional, and we got into a back-and-forth argument because I wanted a comprehensive breakdown of prices. 3. He refused to provide a breakdown of materials, parts, and labor costs, which I repeatedly requested. 4. He sent me an email quote. For the prices he charges, company stationery would look more presentable and professional. I would not recommend this company because JD is unprofessional and lacks customer service skills.

The 3 star rating is because I'm concerned how they conduct business. I received the quote and it was consistent with other businesses in the area. A bit under $2800 for 27 cabinets including paint. I agreed to the quote-- But the job went over 50 percent above estimate without communication until I received the final invoice. No notice. No phone call. I was shocked because I would have never hired a painter if the job was $4000 for kitchen cabinets. Way too high for the job compared to other painters. So if you hire Winkler, be sure to get a firm quote or add that the job will not exceed 15 percent over estimate. I honestly felt this was a bait and switch and I did communicate my concerns with Winkler in writing - so this review should not be a surprise.

Their proposal was almost exactly what the other lower estimate was (each about $2000 below the high one). I chose RWP after reading some negative reviews on "the other guy" including two that said an argument broke out between the owner and the client, and after my initial consul, I could see how that happened. In contrast, Mr Winkler is as mellow and accommodating as he could be. Gave me confidence. It took a couple of months to get scheduled but once they showed up they scraped and painted and were done in 3-4 days, which included effecting a color change. Did not have a single punch item to deal with. A few bits of rotten wood were replaced and all gutters and downspouts reattached. Maybe if I had looked harder I could have got a lower price elsewhere, but I was not that motivated.
