These guys are great. They're friendly, professional, and they know what they're doing when it comes to moving. Ben was able to get my move scheduled on the day that I wanted with only about 2 weeks notice. He was upfront and honest regarding the charges and what the hourly rate included as well as any extras that I should expect to be charged for on the day of the move (any packing tape used as well as a mattress cover if needed i.e. if it was raining) He also followed up the day before the move with a phone call to confirm the details once again as well as answer some last minute questions I had. The movers arrived about 10 mins early the following morning and were very friendly and professional. Chris introduced himself and his crew and let me know that he had brought an additional guy along free of charge (bringing the total to 3 guys instead of 2). I was initially concerned with some of the boxes potentially being a bit too heavy but it didn't phase these guys one bit. Once we walked through my apartment and showed them what I wanted them to take, they were off and running. These guys were flying!! They did not waste one minute of time which is always a good thing when you're being charged by the hour! They took most of my boxes first, then tackled the furniture, carefully wrapping each piece in blankets and packing tape. I had one item that was very valuable and heavy and they treated it with kid gloves - there wasn't a scratch on it when all was said and done. Once we got to the new house, I did a quick walk through with Chris and crew and gave them the general layout of the bulk of my stuff. Once that was done, they were off and moving again. They asked questions if they needed clarification on where something was going, they helped me with putting felt pads on the bottom of each piece of furniture (went from carpet to hardwood at the new house) and helped me put together furniture like my bedroom set and the dresser/mirror combo. They even helped me with suggestions for room layout when my bedroom proved to be slightly smaller than I had anticipated and the layout I had originally wanted didn't quite work. When it came time to go over the final bill, Chris went over each section and what each charge was for. There were no hidden fees and the estimate that Ben gave me over the phone was accurate to within about $100. Overall I was very impressed with how hard these guys worked and was extremely happy that I made the decision to go with Home Team Moving. I had an interstate move from Boston to NJ and had about six companies come out to give me an estimate. Home Team Moving gave me one of the most reasonable estimates and also were incredibly prompt with doing so. Their accessibility and follow through were top notch. Whereas several other companies failed to deliver on their promises or simply failed to follow through at all, Home Team Moving were professional, on point, helpful, and trustworthy. They definitely made the entire moving process as low stress as possible. Ben was superb on the administrative end; responsive, returned calls in a prompt manner, often answered the phone (i found this to be very reassuring and comforting!), and, again, great follow through. the day of the move, Bati and Mike, were on time, friendly, helpful, EFFICIENT, and genuinely seemed to care! They were trustworthy, resourceful, and this was proven when my boxspring wouldn't fit up the staircase. They suggested cutting it and then bracketing it together (really the only solution) and they did so in a timely manner. I was so happy to have a bed to sleep on that night! overall, the entire moving process was made so much smoother thanks to Home Team Moving. I had to move from my 2 bedroom in Belmont over to a 1.5 in Newton on Friday June 1. I had scheduled with Home Team for an arrival at 9:00 am, and they got there at 9:15, and didn't charge me for the 15 minutes they missed. Rush hour traffic stinks after all. Ben and Bob were great. Ben was very friendly, started right off with a quick inspection to see the kind of work that would be needed and we got straight to work. They were quick ,efficient, careful with my belongings, it was a great thing to watch. NOW, on top of that, when we got to my new place the cleaning/painting crew hired by the landlord was still onsite. Apparently the previous tennants hadn't left until late the previous night (in violation of lease). So everything had been delayed. The cleaners, which were a great bunch also, let us use a room that had been basically finished, and Home Team even offered to take me off the clock for half an hour if it would help the cleaners finish up a little! No need, they got right to work and we had my stuff neatly stacked in a pyramid in the main area, without any problems. All told, the job took a little under 3 hours at $110/hr (minus a deposit I had already paid). Excellent work. They used a couple roles of tape to wrap up some things, but not excessively. I had already bubble wrapped most stuff, but they wanted to blanket the bigger things so they wouldn't grind on each other. I gave them a 10% gratuity on the bill. WOW. I don't really know where to begin with this review. I guess the beginning...I met Ben, the owner of Home Team Movers when he came to give an estimate to my tenant for her move to the next town; plus, a move of some of her items to a storage facility. His relaxed manner was infectious, as he answered every question carefully and fully. His details left no more questions from the group. The day of packing came and by day's end, everything was packed neatly in the apartment - ready to go. Hard to believe, but moving day was even better. The crew got right to work packing the truck, they worked continuously and made quick work of loading all the boxes into the truck. Someone came and asked me for a broom. He proceeded to sweep up anything and everything from the floor and then walked around with me through each room to make sure I was satisfied with the results of their work. If this wasn't enough, they asked where I would like the trash bags, so I wouldn't have to carry them. Ben came by to make sure everything was properly done, which was comforting and reassuring. I guess one of the best things about this move was the attitude of the owner and crew. They were extremely professional, but at the same time, friendly and seemingly happy to be doing their job to the best of their abilities. My wife and I were very pleased with Home Team Moving. They did an excellent job moving us from Lexington to Beverly. Extra crew were called in toward the end of the day and more at our unloading point. The team were with us over 14 hours that day. As another reviewer has mentioned, the estimate and final cost include travel time from their office in Belmont to your home and back to Belmont once they have unloaded. In a big move like ours was, this extra cost was insignificant. However, when they came back to help us unload a Pack Rat a few weeks later, which only took a few hours, this cost really had an impact on the price of the job. That said, we are extremely pleased that we choose Home Team Moving. Home Team Moving came highly recommended by several people in Lexington, so highly recommended that we did not interview another company after we received the estimate from them. Unfortunately, our move cost significantly more than the estimate but it was obvious why, we just had more stuff than was evident when the estimate was done which required the use of a third truck. Overall we were very pleased with the price we paid for our move. We certainly got value for money. Everything was wrapped and packed to minimize damage. The minor damage that was incurred was repaired promtly. The staff were wonderful!! Very, very friendly, and extremely hard workers. We cannot recommend Home Team Moving highly enough. read more

The guys are the BEST! I had an unusual item to move from Chelse to Belmont - a 1500lb stone stone sculpture. After calling several companies and not getting any call backs, I called HomeTeam Moving. Matt, the logistics fellow, was meticulous in asking the right questions to make sure he understood the unusual nature of the move. He requested a photograph and I sent in a copy and he was able to determine that a 5 man crew would be able to do the job. The appointment was set for May 4th at 9:00am at the origin. The day before someone from the office called to confirm the move. On moving day, I arrived at the origine at 8:30am and the HomeTeam arrived exactly at 9:00am as promised. They proceeded to inspect the sculpture and set up the correct logistics, first to get it on the truck. I was impressed with how they were so creative to add harnessing ropes as insurance should the piece slide off from the lift platform. Similarly when we arrived at the destination the same strategy was employed in reverse - incredible teamwork! Once the piece was on the ground the only way to move it was to slide it, but because they did not want to ruin my lawn, they sat the sculpture on flat paneling material with thick blankets in between. They slid the sculpture little by little recreating the path as they went till the scupture was ready to righted into its final location. What a fabulous job! read more

We found Home Team after our scheduled mover cancelled on us the morning of a move!! Ben and his team could not possibly have been more helpful, careful, or hard working. They took this job even though they had 2 other jobs that day and it was one of those 100 degree summer days, because we really needed the move to happen that day and we were in such a jam. The move involved a pickup of some extremely heavy (and valuable) antique bedroom furniture at one location, a walk-up in Cambridge, and then moving from Newton to Cape Cod. Just the fact that they managed the enormously heavy four poster bed, out of the brownstone in Cambridge and up the stairs (many turns) of our home was an amazing feat. No damage to anything, whatsoever, except one tiny item that I packed, myself, quite poorly. Everything they packed up (they had loads of blankets and packing materials) arrived in perfect condition. These 3 men worked till the wee hours, in tremendous heat. They were completely polite, positive, timely, and professional. The price was reasonable, and as expected. Ben even called to follow up to make sure everything was okay. Our son is moving into an apartment and we wholeheartedly recommended Home Team Moving for him, as we would for anyone. We used Home Team Moving out of Belmont four times in the last month!! They moved my son into Boston three years ago and I remembered how good they were, so when it came time for him to move again, we called them. In the meantime, we were selling our family home of 25 years so I had them come out and give me an estimate for our move. They were reasonable and very reliable and flexible with our changing schedule. We first had a move of items going to our vacation home and that went without a hitch! Bati and his crew, Jamie and Andy were awesome. Took great care of our possessions and worked non stop quickly and carefully. A week later, my son moved within his building in Boston, and again, another flawless move. Another couple of weeks went by and we were moving from out family to home to a townhouse, which is not easy, but Bati and the crew (with some new guys Mike and Rich) took exceptional care of us, helping out packing up last minute items when needed and carefully wrapping all our family memories and and treasures! I've used home team moving twice in the last year. The first move was from the 4 bedroom house we had lived in for 14 years to a two bedroom apartment that was temporary until we found a new home and the second move was three months later into our new home. Home Team did a great job from the outset in helping us plan the move, and throughout the actual moves. With their help in planning we were able to save money that we would have spent on storage. They also did a great job with packing a lot of original art that made it through both moves without any damage, They covered all the furniture in blankets and took apart and reassembled certain big pieces really well. Our dining room table had been wobbly for the the last 14 years and I had not been able to fix it. I had assumed that it had been damaged in the prior move. Surprisingly after HTM reassembled it, it was steady as rock. Apparently, the previous movers had not done it properly. In the second move into our new home, they finished several hours earlier than their estimate, and this was in the middle of a downpour. I was thrilled with HTM and would use them again in a heartbeat, though I hope I don't move again for a really long time. read more

Best moving experence ever! With all the stress and pressure and preparation for big moves I could have never expected to have such smooth experiences! They took all the stress out of a very stressful situation. I have used Home Team several times in the past few years to move my mother and sister and myself, also moving everything out and then back in to a home being remodeled, as well as help clearing out a summer house that my mother had to sell. They were very careful of all our things, the new floors and walls, never doing any damage. In a very stressful time one thing we did not have to worry at all about were the movers. We are so grateful to have found such a wonderful company that has made every effort to calm our nerves and get all of us into our places feeling at home again! They are careful, professional, patient, affordable and very sweet with my mother. These guys were nothing short of amazing. I called them with only 1 weeks notice and they were able to help me and my husband out at our exact time, and with by far the best price we had been quoted. Plus I had my quote within 3 hours compared to 2 or 3 days. We went with them because of yelp, and I'm so glad I listened. We had a two bed apartment with WAY more boxes than I had anticipated and they had us out of our apartment in a little over an hour. I am talking probably 40 boxes with a good amount of furniture, grill and a snow blower. The followed me the 20 miles to our new home and had the truck unpacked in less than an hour. they had everything in the right spot did it quickly and in an organized fashion. There was no damage to our house or belongings and they refused to take a break when i offered them drinks. Home Team Moving was great ! They showed up right on time and even called when they were on their way over to let me know. When they showed up they got all my major furniture moved over in less than an hour. My final piece of furniture was a large couch which was very hard to get into my living room through the doorway. They informed me they were going to stop the clock so I wouldn't get charged more and let me know that one of the owners Ben would come back during the week and get the couch in for me free of charge ! That was Saturday and they came back Monday afternoon as promised and were able to get the couch into the living room for me. They really went above and beyond for me and I really appreciate it. I would totally recommended them, they were so nice and their prices were very reasonable they charged me $110 an hour with a two hour minimum and then only charged you for 15 minute increments after that. We moved from 3600 sq ft to 1600 sq ft home in the same town. We moved our belonging to a storage bin, then weeks later to our newly renovated home. We had the movers come to Carver MA for both moves. It was worth every cent! They were phenomenal! Two moves, not one thing lost, broken or scratched. They help us set up, so all the furniture fit. I have not met a nicer group of men. They went above and beyond to help us, even disposing of rotted picnic tables and pool furniture for us. They were on time and moved quickly to help us cut the cost. We came in under budget for both moves. We did not have to lift a finger, just point. We have used moving companies in the past and it was always a nightmare! This move was stress free, thanks to Home Team Moving. They came highly recommended and I can see why. Well, I hired Home Team Moving based on Yelp, and so here I am back here to give my 5 stars after a terrific experience. I've had to move something like 8 times in 11 years so I am well aware of how much moving can SUCK, and today's move was by far the best I've had yet! Ranell (spelling?) was amazing, as were Darnell and Pete-- and Ben who coordinated everything for me by phone/email. They were friendly, professional, on time -- actually 2 minutes early!, remarkably fast, and careful. This is the first move I've had where the movers do absolutely everything. I should have brought a book as I didn't lift a finger! I'm used to holding doors and elevators for movers, getting odds and ends, and the like, and these guys were total pros-- just told me to relax, which I did. Can't say enough good about them. We've been going through the move from hell (including nasty neighbors forming a lynch mob to prevent us from selling our house!) but these guys did what they said they would do, in less time and under budget in a monsoon, which made everything so much harder - but they managed in spite of dangerous weather and two sets of pull down attic stairs! We especially appreciated that they walk around with you afterward and move things so that there's no - oh, oh, the bed is in the wrong place, now we have to move it. - the house is in the best shape for unpacking that it could be. (Of course, I did prepare well by mapping out the rooms, labeling boxes and rooms - though I could have done a better job of labeling the furniture - but really it was like that commercial where the woman asks for constant small adjustments....) These guys are wonderful! I read about them on yelp and decided to contact them about moving my elderly father from a house in Newton to an apartment about 2.5 miles away. When I called them, they were so friendly and showed such an attention to detail that I hired them for his move. They confirmed the move by phone a day ahead of time, arrived within ten minutes of the scheduled time, and moved all of his things--including some really heavy pieces--quickly and without damaging anything. The three men were friendly and very efficient. My father was so impressed that he tipped all of them. This company was significantly less expensive than the national moving companies, and everyone affiliated with the company was a pleasure to deal with. We just moved from Arkansas to Belmont, MA and needed help unloading our giant truck. I found these guys on Yelp and the previous glowing reviews were spot-on! 1. Within minutes of leaving a message to set up same-day service, I got a call back with a scheduled time. 2. Got follow up calls from the crew telling me when they would come and when they were on their way. 3. The three-man crew was on time, really friendly and they HUSTLED! If you're worried about crews that charge by the hour, these guys didn't waste a minute getting to work and getting stuff in. 4. They were professional, helpful and took care of everything from setting up our bed to getting a big TV on top of an armoire. Cost was completely reasonable, especially for this level of service. While I hope to not have to move again for a while, I would absolutely use them again. read more
