Along with this I wanted some additional sockets setup (mix of 110 and 220v) Chris came in surveyed what needed to happen, figured out the most efficient way to get it all done and was here bright and early. His work was super neat and very well done. He thinks about stuff and explains on what he's going to do and why (eg: length of cord he is going to run and making sure things aren't a trip hazard etc). Plus he also examined my sauna and made some suggestions, re-arranged breaker panel to make it more efficient. As an aside the man's smart and made some real estate moves when he was young (yeah, I wish I'd done that. I was street racing in my youth years!) Learned some interesting stuff. He spent about an hour with me to survey the job and then delivered his quote which was spot on despites some unforeseen anomalies with our house which we know is old and unfortunately, not always up to code. Nothing seemed to ruffle him as he found positive workarounds to each issue, vetting each one with us. The end result completely exceeded our expectation. I research online reviews and try to test product to the point I become paralyzed with indecision. I talk myself into and out of multiple different options and designs. Throughout my process, Angel was patient with me, appropriately consultative, and helped me get to the outcome he knew I wanted even before I could see it. When my wife and I decided to finish our basement, we had an opportunity to wire the basement and main floor of our house with a clean and integrated look. As much as possible, we wanted all wires hidden behind walls and clunky equipment concealed. For the living room Angel recommended a 2.1 system with capability to drive the subtle and nuanced sound from a turntable as well as the booming explosions from a 4K action flick. In the basement, we went with a 5.1 system that also balanced musicality with the power for a dramatic viewing experience. As required, the wiring was concealed and tucked away for a supremely clean and tight appearance. Throughout the design, product selection, and installation process, Angel was there to guide things along. He consulted, recommended, and sold me various pieces, but integrated existing product I had on hand as well as the Anthem MRX 520 receiver I insisted upon getting brand new for the living room. Attention to detail was exceptional -- although my existing speakers required bi-wired connections, the new speakers I purchased did not, and Angel and his crew nailed the installation perfectly. Attention to detail was also reflected in the recommendations for speaker cable featuring great access and prices to very nice Audioquest speaker and HDMI cables. I'm so glad he convinced me to go with the JL Audio Gotham Subwoofer -- I knew it would shake the house during movies, but I didn't realize it had the subtlety to enhance a John Coltraine's, A Love Supreme on vinyl. Testing out the final product was the best part of the process. Angel and his crew spent a while with me dialing in the room correction software and receiver adjustment process. My musical taste is a bit eccentric and I think the guys from SD&I were a bit underwhelmed with the initial test tracks I selected. When I finally played Keep Your Name by Dirty Projectors, the house came down... This review is way overdue, but Angel, his wife, and the crew at SD&I deserve it. This was part of a larger renovation project which took much longer than anticipated in the initial phases of construction. NexSense's audio-visual installation date kept getting postponed, through no fault of their own, and was ultimately delayed by several months. Through it all, NexSense's owner was willing to hang in there and keep rescheduling the installation, and beyond that, to store thousands of dollars of delicate equipment which had arrived in time for the initial installation date. Once NexSense was finally given the go-ahead to execute their part of the project, they flawlessly installed the system and patiently taught me (a non-techie) how to use it. The complex wiring, which is completely hidden in cabinets, was nonetheless installed carefully and neatly. This speaks volumes about the pride they take in their work. The system is wonderful. I can seamlessly and easily switch from listening to music, to watching television, to downloading movies, to showing home videos and photos, to much more. The sound quality is amazing. The few times I've had questions about the system since I've been using it, the owner has immediately responded with answers.
