When I watch movies here, my smart watch goes crazy with notifications that the sound is exceeding 80 and 90 decibels. Sounds above 85 decibels are harmful to your hearing. Gas lawn mowers are 85 decibels. Rock concerts are 90-120 decibels. Weekly limit at 90 decibels is 4 hours. Per week total, not per event. So a single 2 hour movie is half your weekly limit (to hopefully avoid permanent hearing loss, but not guaranteed it won't happen sooner) and 30 minutes/day causes temporary hearing loss. If the majority of film goers do not have permanent hearing loss, they will now! That's why I always bring 'Etymotic ER20XS ETY Earplugs' high fidelity, high definition earplugs with 20 dB sound reduction when I go to the movies and concerts. It's like a volume knob for your environment, turning everything down 20 dB equally across all frequencies. These are not foam earplugs which muddies the sound and blocks the highs. Between everyone coming in wet from the rain and the amount of people there, it definitely wasn't the most relaxing movie experience. One thing I did think was interesting was that the popcorn is already laid out so you can walk up and grab the one you want, but unfortunately the popcorn itself was stale and just not good at all. Pretty gross and $37 later (with the drink). The escalators also weren't working, so we had to walk all the way up. I didn't mind too much because hey, extra steps for the day, but what really stood out to me was that the elevator was also out. If someone needed accessibility accommodations, that would've been a serious issue. I did like that the parking garage is directly connected to the theater which made getting in and out convenient, but overall this isn't a theater I'd rush back to.

It's not a problem when you're in the theater but it's an absolute war zone once you get out these days.

Upon entering the Theatre, I was in theatre number two. I believe there are eight. The chairs are large, comfortable, red vinyl power reclining with drink holder. The inside of the actual theater was extremely clean. The chairs were spotless. The rugs were super clean and the sound was epic. When I entered the complex, the host offered for me to join the AMC movie club, which I grabbed and applied for immediately. It is free and it gives you 50% off movies for you and a friend on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I happen to be with my mother so they gave us senior tickets at 50% off. I ended up receiving two tickets for $11 and change I was excited. I also understand that you get a large bucket of popcorn, which I did are eligible for a free refill. I did not know this time, but I did some reading when I got home and received the emails getting welcomed to the club. I will frequent there often.

Since then, of course the seats have gotten a bit worn& definitely have seen better days, but that was bound to happen with multiple people sitting every day for years. Wished that the seats were cleaned better. Last few times, the seats I have gotten were oily (probably from the butter for popcorn?) and the cup holders were very sticky, sometimes had trash still there from the previous person. BUT great, convenient theater to go if you're in the area. It's right across from the South Shore Plaza. Also, is in a plaza with a couple restaurants like Legal Seafood, TGI Fridays, Starbucks, Five Guys, & Dave's Hot chicken.

Another perk to the particular theater is that you have several dining options in the theater as well as outside the theater in Patriot Place. This theater also has a mini food court where you can eat before a movie and a small banquet room for birthday parties. The staff I interacted with at this location were pleasant and professional. I would definitely recommend this Showcase if you are in a touristy type of mood.

Also they didn't have the sugar free options all on the freestyle machine to have brought to you, so I had to go downstairs to order and get my soda. Which was whatever since I had 25 mins of nothing. And then they don't bus the plates so the whole movie you are sitting with your dirty plate trying not to knock it over. My seat did not recline, it must be broken which is annoying and also these seats don't have foot rest. I will not come back and now I understand why it was bought out and no one is ever at the lux level.
