    Cute gingerbread houses.

If you are looking for holiday decorations, then stop by Home Goods. They have a vast amount of Santa's, nutcrackers, candy cane houses, and other holiday decor. Maybe, I am early, but the Chanukah collection was small and sparse. I was disappointed. There was plenty of help circulating in the store, but they needed more people at the cash registers. It took a while to get checked out. The prices are great, but if you look closely, a lot of the items have small damages. I bought a dog food container, a Halloween costume for my dog, a Chanukah book, some Chanukah candy dishes. I still love the selections and the price. Just look closely before you buy.

I am enamored with this place. It's full of stuff for the home and belly. It's almost as if the merchandise screams, "Over here! Look at me!" I want. The heart wants what the heart desires. Unfortunately, I've no place for all these pretty things. If I were to start with a empty home, this place would be my starting zone. They have everything you could possibly need to make a home your home. I did buy a new, colorful silicone whisk for $2.99. Bye bye rusty metal one! Their gourmet food section is the biggest and best I've seen from all these discount shopping places. I had to be strong and walk on. (I fibbed a tiny bit-I bought some shortbread cookies.) Next time I'm out this way to run errands, Home Goods will be on my rotation of shopping destinations.

I've been to various HomeGoods stores and this is one of my favorites. They always seem to be stocked with new stuff, and seem to have new items every week but that's probably the norm for most HomeGoods stores. The store is clean and organized and there usually is a cashier available at each register so even when there's long lines, the lines tend to move fairly fast. Staff is always helpful and polite. This store is also not nearly as crowded as other HomeGoods stores which can be a good thing! Love it.

    Clearance table

This is my least favorite HG store to come to. I find that the selection is not as great as the other locations in the area and items are picked over. The clearance area is not even worth rummaging through since most of the items have been open or damaged in some sort of way. It just looks like a mounting pile of trash to be honest. I noticed on this particular visit that a table was placed in the middle of the walkway with clearance items that sparked my interest. I am guessing they created this table to add more sale items since they could not possibly fit any more into the existing clearance areas. However, half of the table was not even on clearance! It was ver misleading since there was a "clearance" sign on the table. Pieces of furniture were cramped into one space. You could barely walk in between chairs and tables to find their prices. In the front of the store there was also furniture, and they decided to place a bench there which people used as a sitting area. I mean, who would want to buy that now? The checkout process was longer than I had anticipated. Usually an open register is indicated by an intercom that calls out the register number. However, a store associate who was open gestures with his hand for us to come over instead. I found that to be a bit unprofessional since he did not seem as though he wanted to be there. I can understand the frustration with the long lines, but that is expected in a retail setting.

If you see something you like, you have to order online and pay shipping. The good: The staff are super helpful and friendly but they will most likely have to order the item you want online. It is nice to be able to see things in person to measure, view the texture, color, etc. Quality: I have purchased furniture from them in the past and have no complaints with the quality. Their prices can be steep but I do think it's worth it (for the most part). I hope they don't go 100% online and just make some tweaks to improve the overall customer experience. There is no replacement for a human touch and the ability to see and touch items in person.

I was told the legs were on another moving van and would be located and delivered within a few days, but that never happened. The sofa was shipped from Hong Kong without all of the necessary parts, and the company then refused to send the missing hardware by any method other than boat. After more than a dozen calls to customer service, I was told I would have to wait until September 2026 for the legs to arrive. As a result, I have had to wait an additional five months before I can use the sofa, which is still sitting on the floor without its hardware or legs. Customer service has been completely ineffective in resolving the issue.

While I was about it, I'd pick up some global snacks. It had been years, but yesterday, since I was in the area, I decided pop in. The store focus seems to have shifted to foodie treats. I scooped up a box of British brownie mix made with Cadbury chocolate and a jar of Madras curry powder made with spices from Cape Town. I could have bought many more items, believe me, but I've been on an eating tear lately, so I held back. I was sad to see the home furnishings section much scaled back and more conventional than back in the day. But still, World Market remains a foodie delight!

Last week we went and grabbed some things off of clearance. 2 cushions, only one had the original price tag and the other had the WM price tag. I only noticed the original one & said hey that's not 50% off of the price. The associate showed me the other cushion with now the marked up price tag from WM & said "oh we had to increase the prices for inflation" and never honored the original price tag on the other pillow... then she marked me wrong for yet another item for the price it was marked before the final one. I showed her the other price tag on the other side saying "look you guys marked it as such" for the final price. She gave me attitude and said "oh I need to speak to the manager to see if she can honor it". She gave me the price without my reward coupons but I was so tired of her nonsense I wasn't fighting her over a couple of dollars. I didn't want to make a scene but it's honestly absurd that they can't even honor their OWN MARKED PRICES. They were giving me attitude for their negligence & honestly, shady business practices. Another time, I went once to do a store pickup. It wasn't ready for 3 days & I finally just went to the store because we were in the area & don't live nearby enough to just wait around and I needed the items. The person gave me so much attitude about how I shouldn't come in without notification. It wasn't a holiday or anything, just a random spring day. But I shook it off as oh maybe she's having a bad day. They have cute stuff but for the price & the horrible CS, I can easily see this being the next store to go out of business. "Inflation" is affecting everyone but don't go marking up items & then expecting us not to say anything when you pull things like this. We most likely won't be returning or just order online to avoid this.

I wanted to continue supporting it for that reason and for its sense of community, but my experiences have been consistently disappointing. Yesterday was my final straw. I am new to sewing and come in seeking guidance on fabric selection and product education, yet nearly every visit is met with dismissive or rude customer service. The older representatives in particular often do not greet me and respond reluctantly or faintly when I ask for assistance. Help is provided, but it often feels like an inconvenience unless they are in the mood. Yesterday, when I asked a representative at the fabric counter for help understanding a product, she was short-tempered and instead told me they were closing at 5:15 p.m., despite the website listing a 7:30 p.m. closing time. The interaction felt rushed, dismissive, and disrespectful. At checkout, I asked for a bag for several small tools and fabric. The cashier said they were running low, and etc and tossed the bag at me. This type of behavior has happened on multiple visits and consistently dampens the experience. I truly wanted to like this store, but the repeated lack of basic courtesy--especially toward newer customers--has made me unwilling to return. I hope management takes these ongoing customer service issues seriously.
