Bought holiday decos today, the employees were nice EXCEPT the white American manager--I didn't bother asking for her name...middle aged, heavy set, dirty blonde straight hair with glasses. The entire 2 hrs I was here I have observed her being downright rude to her staff--yelling at them and telling them off. She was borderline rude to me too, telling me to get off a chair which i didnt know was already purchased. My mistake, but she could have been more civil in her delivery. I hope the administration gets wind of this review and confirms it with the rest of the staff. read more

I came to this location for the first time the other day to shop for a couple of items to finish furnishing my new apartment and I had an overall great experience. Although the store was a bit messy, I found everything I was expecting and more for some pretty good prices. The customer service was great, from the people out of the sales floor to the cashier that checked me out. She was very thoughtful and helpful. She noticed one of my glass items was chipped when I hadn't, and pointed it out to me instead of sending me home with a damaged item which I highly appreciate. I didn't catch her name but he she had short blue hair. The store is right across from The Americana and In-N-Out which is so convenient. Now on to the cons of this store :( As I was on my way back through the store to get to the parking structure ( that has 90 MINUTES FREE ;) I needed to use the bathroom. To my surprise I was disgusted by what I had seen when i walked into one of the stalls. I blame most of the customers who shop there. Its not that hard to put your trash in a trash can, or to flush after yourself but for some reason people who shop here obviously have issues with that. Even walking through the store I seen people ripping things out of their packages and just throwing them like nothing when they're done with it. read more

Let me start by saying I love the stuff at Homegoods. This review is not about the merchandise at Homegoods but about the HORRIBLE experience I that I received tonight at Homegoods Glendale at the hands of the manager. I went into Homegoods looking for a knife set for a friend of mine. It was taking a while to locate the knives, so I asked one of the employees and he was kind enough to not only point me in the right direction, but he walked me over to the aisle containing the knives. At this point in my experience I was pleased with Homegoods, as I usually am, but this is where it take a turn for the worse. As I'm checking out, I inform the cashier that I would like a gift receipt for my knife set but not for my other items. The cashier rang up my items, but as she handed me my receipt I noticed that the gift receipt contained all of the items I had purchased. This is not a big deal. I simplify pointed out the mistake and ask if she would be kind enough to give me a gift receipt containing only the knife set. I'm assuming she was fairly new because she called the manager to correct the mistake. The manager, who was clearly upset already, was informed of the situation. She instantly turned to my boyfriend and I and said, "There is no way to give you a receipt for this item only. The only way to receive a single receipt is to purchase one item at a time." I informed the manager that I was not informed of this policy, but I did inform the cashier that I only wanted one gift receipt. The manager told me that I should take the gift receipt since it doesn't contain any prices and give it with the gift. I was shocked that not only did she not offer a solution but I was basically hurried out the door. The managers name is Natalie Barsegian. I would like to be clear that I am not upset that I was not able to get a single gift receipt for the single item that I purchased, I am upset with the manner in which I was spoken to by the store's manager. She was very condescending and refused to correct the mistake that was made. I will NEVER return Homegoods Glendale. read more

Ryan one of he "managers" was so rude when i tried to exchange a gift i got that was broken. I obviously didn't have the receipt because it was a gift and he said i can exchange it for the same item. (Which is fine bc the only reason why I brought it back is because the one i had was broken) anyways it was his tone of voice and the way he said it with such attitude i had to tell him to calm down and stop speaking to me. I then went on the hunt to find the same pitcher which they said they had plenty of so i went looking for it. I asked 3 other employees in different isles. None of them knew what i was talking about nor did they direct me or try to have another employee help me. I went back to the front and told the lady I couldn't find any. She then asked another employee to look and said they didn't have any. Which is fine. You don't have the item I understand, but for the manager Ryan to speak so rudely and to be so annoyed that i didn't have a receipt. He needs to take a few customer service skills classes and as for the staff on the floor assisting customers.... they need to know where items are, they need to be nicer and actually direct you to another person that might be able to help you. I have never experienced such bad customer service in a store like this. read more

Does corporate not check Yelp because I can see someone else has left a comment similar to mine almost a year ago. So, it seems as though things don't change. Anyways, my son had to use the restroom so we made a pit stop in Home Goods. I was appalled at their restrooms. Not only was EVERY stall overflowing with trash, but the smell was horrendous. Whoever "cleans" the restrooms couldn't even replace the paper towels in the dispenser. Oh, no no... that would actually be putting effort into their job. Instead, it was just placed on the counter. It gets better. As we were leaving, I found a "MANAGER" speaking to an employee and I kindly interrupted and said, "Sorry to interrupt but have you seen your restrooms? They are horrible. Trash is overflowing, the scent, everything is just in disarray." The MANAGER'S response?? As if she was daydreaming, "Oh, I'm sorry." It was really awkward. There was no, "Oh, sorry you had to experience that. We will send someone in there right away" or "Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will take care of it." Nothing. Her and the employee just stared at me as if it were even a waste of time to do anything. All I'm saying is if you're doing your shopping there, DO NOT USE THIS RESTROOM. Ewwwww. read more

Stupid kid employee Jose after driving from another home goods to find some glasses I get there and this idiot employee would not help me out. Usually everyone is nice at the stores but wow this kids an idiot and I can't believe he got hired. I asked him if they had anymore gold martini glasses and showed him what I was looking for in a pic. The stupid kid was no help. He immediately said no I said okay you guys run out already? He said yeah I think so I turn the corner and there were the glasses. I made sure I saw him again so I can show him and say thanks for " all ur help" what a stupid kid! I am very disappointed with this location and especially the management. Homegoods usually have very unique merchandise that you hardly find at other stores and if you do you have to pay twice more. I was looking for a wooden bench storage for a long time but nothing was catching my attention until I found my favorite one here. I was super excited. It was blue and silverish color with woodcarving on it. The price was about $200. It was almost closing time until I found someone to help me to carry that to the front which was not my job since I was told they are short on staff! I paid and because I was alone I asked them to put it hold and I will come back tomorrow. I went home and told my husband about how happy and excited I was about what I bought can't wait to bring it home. The next day we went to the store to pick it up which was afternoon. I saw the register boy coming and going to the stuck room and acting weird. He called the manager who was a blond lady about 35 to 45 and asks few things which were too far for me to hear. When he came back, he took me to the floor right next to the door and showed me a disaster! It was my beautiful bench with multiple damages and corners were all chipped! I was so shocked, furious and speechless. Even the guy said it was not supposed to be on the floor when it has been already purchased. I returned it with regret because it was pretty and could have been used and enjoyed. I wish they could care more about the merchandise and the value. Be cousins if you purchase something, take it home with you. Do Not Put Anything ON Hold because there is no guaranty if you go back it's still there or in a good condition. read more

It was just an awful experience at the Home Goods in the Glendale location. Customer Service was horrible. My sister and I went to go pick up her dresser and we literally stood there for an hour while they were searching for our item. Turns out our dresser was right next to us the entire time. So I had to go back the next day with a bigger car and this is the only reason why I'm giving them 2 stars is because Jason helped us out so much, especially trying to put it into the car. He was off the clock and helped us out either way. That was the only great experience I had at this store. It's really upsetting that people hate their job at that location. Maybe you all should quit and look for a job you actually love. read more

Randomly passed through this place on the way to Outback and it was awesome! It reminded me of the TjMaxx stores because it has a bunch of things at low, affordable prices. They have a cooking section, bath/shower stuff, paintings, packaged food, a huge candle area and furniture. We spend a good amount of time just wandering around and looking at everything. And I was super excited because they have the scone ready-made mixes that I'm obsessed with =D read more

Everyone loves Homegoods, including me. But not only is this a disorganized store, it has the most disgusting bathrooms I have EVER seen! Worst than a public beach or gas station. And not just once. EVERY time I have been there! Unsanitary conditions of used feminine products on the floor, smell of urine, no soap, towels or any clean products to use! I went to the Homegood in Glendale. The worst store ever! The stuffs what they have are pretty good and affordable, but their customer service is terrible. I found a makeup vanity, a chair and a night stand. Wanted to get those so I bought those right away. I called the delivery service company the store offered, and made an appointment with them in a week. Clerks packed my stuffs in front of me to put it into their storage before the delivery company pick it up. I was so excited to get my stuffs. It was the day my stuffs were supposed to be delivered. A clerk from the Homegood called me and he said he can't find my chair. He said he is going to check what happened to the chair and if he doesn't find out how that happened he is going to refund it anyway. He never called me back after that conversation. After the call the delivery service came with only two items and I had to pay for the service. I bought the vanity and the chair because they were matched together. And if I had only two items I wouldn't order the delivery service instead I could put the stuff into my car's trunk. I called him back and he said he is going to talk to the manager. He said hold with the line. Later another clerk picked up the phone and said he is talking to the manager and a few minutes later the clerk hung up the phone and they never called me back. I had to come to the store again to get refund for the missing item I purchased. There were three clerks at the checkout desk, they knew what happened to me, but they never said sorry or something like that. When it seemed done I asked to one of them if it is going to be refunded back to my credit card. She laughed at me. All there were laughing at me when I'm leaving the store. I was very upset about the clerks and also the Homegood I used to be a big fan of for a long time. First, I waisted my time to try to find the item and waited a week and didn't get it. Also I had to try to call them and come to the store which is far from my place. Second I waisted my money because I didn't need to order delivery company if I didn't have the chair, I spend my car's gas to come to the store. Third, the clerks there were not responsible. They ruined my days and my feeling. Very very disappointed.... I do not recommend to go to the Homegood in Glendale. read more

Brought baked goods back as they were expired, the manager gave me a hard time, he was telling us it was our fault and would not give our money back, the food item was not properly labelled in the system. He wanted to go through the surveillance tapes. He was very unprofessional and very rude. The manager at Tarzana was too busy to be on the phone for any length of time so she could not help us. We went to Glendale and the manager there said they didn't have it but within a few minutes had located it at another nearby Home Goods! Kudos for customer service at this store. read more
