Concerning: HomeGoods; 3340 Shoppers Drive; McHenry, IL 60050 To Black shoppers, do not spend your money in this store!   On January 11, 2024, I visited the HomeGoods store in McHenry with a dear friend who is a small business owner. We had come to purchase additional items that she needed for her business, which she had previously purchased from our local store. Unfortunately, our local store had only two sets of the items she required, so we decided to drive out to this McHenry location to complete the purchase. While we were there, we decided to shop the clearance items as well.   However, our shopping experience took a disturbing turn when a man, who appeared to be part of loss prevention or security team, stood at the end of an aisle, seemingly engrossed in his phone but closely watching us. He continued to watch us as we shopped, and it became apparent that he was following us throughout the store. This was profiling and quite upsetting. At one point, I approached the gentleman, pretending to browse some items to gauge his reaction, and he promptly walked away. As I continued to browse the things in that section, I turned a corner to discover the same man speaking with a different younger man who appeared to work at the store. The first man who had been following us left, and the younger man started folding towels in the shopping area near us, so it was obvious to us that this young employee was now to keep an eye on us. When we arrived at the checkout line, two police officers entered the store and approached the checkout area, raising the profiling to new heights. Additionally, two managers emerged from the back. The police and managers talked as they watched us make our transaction. Had they made any physical approach, I would be suing them at this moment! My friend spent $237 at this store on a shopping trip that left us terribly disturbed. Even though my friend needed these products for a business function, it pained my heart that she spent her hard-earned money with these racists and this awful shopping experience. Personally, as I told her, I would have left the goods behind. I urge any black people who are considering purchasing at HomeGoods to avoid these racists. In fact, avoid all HomeGoods stores; don't reward these businesses for their racism. Deborah read more

Me and my wife came here early. We want to buy a sofa for our living room. Our old sofa was broken so we need a new one. After I park my car in their parking lot we enter this place. There are a lot of products inside. The floor was clean. There are a lot of people here. We went to the area of the couch. They have different colors and different kinds of sofa. Since our old sofa is color balck we decided to buy other color. We want to try the white color and we think it's perfect for our interior design. So everything was settled. We paid for it and they will deliver it and arrange it in our living room. After that we went to the frame area. They have good and nice frames. It was cool and perfect for the living room. But the price of it was too expensive. And we have no budget on that price. Maybe next time we will buy it. read more

Very clean and well-stocked establishment. Love how bright it is in the entire store and that at all staff is friendly and helpful despite the mini holiday rush plus late covid measures. Every aisle is marked well with arrows and it is easy to find your way around the store. Unlike other stores, the clearance aisle is not a mashup of items all thrown together, but you can actually sift through the items. My favorite things to get here are the table mats, shower curtain liners and stepping stools! Love the deals :D I also love this entire mall area, plenty of parking and stores and restaurants nearby. I wish I lived closer! read more

One Home Goods is pretty much like every other. That, in this case, is a good thing. Home Goods has a great variety of items - from furniture to furnishings, from kitchen gadgets, plates, silverware, pots and pans, and glassware, to interesting foodstuffs. They also have a large selection of pet items. Pricing can't really be beaten. They must buy enormous amounts of goods for their stores and the savings is passed along. I've been to probably a dozen Home Goods stores over the years. They are consistent in their appearance and in the fact that they are well stocked. They also have very good service at their check-out counters. read more

Nice store. I have been here twice since it has opened. They have everything from gift baskets to pet beds and kitchen spices. The staff are friendly and the prices are spot on. Brand names for less. One of my only complaints is that the clearance area has a lot of broken items in it. Just expense them out or repair them. Don't still try to salvage them. Very well lit store. read more

Brand new store located in Mellody Farms retail center. I do foresee parking becoming an issue pretty quickly. Only Nordstrom Rack, REI, and HomeGoods have opened and the lot is full on Monday morning. Once restaurants open lunch and evening patrons will definitely take over the lots with the local corporate diners. The customer base and traffic could have supported a larger store. Two carts cannot pass in some of the aisles. The sales floor and shelves are bursting at the seams with useless amazingness. read more

Stopped in Home Goods (Vernon Hills) today. Sign(s) on front door(s) clearly says....FACE MASK REQUIRED. Upon entering store a customer wasn't wearing a mask. I brought that to the attention of the young lady "checking" people as they enter. She paged the manager to come to the front of the store. After a few minutes the manager asked if she could help me. I explained that a guy was walking around without a mask on- I was told "our corporate policy is to encourage people to wear them but aren't/can't enforcing it". WTF?! The company is worried about upsetting this clown? What about the health of the other shoppers that assume EVERYONE is following what the sign says. To quote a great line from Pretty Women...."BIG MISTAKE, BIG MISTAKE"!! read more

I normally do not post review on stores unless they really impress me. This Home Goods location is impressive. The store manager is why this location is a step above the rest. On numerous occasions I have visited this location and she is right there in the trenches ensuring EVERY customer is satisfied and happy. When her team asks you if you found everything you needed you feel like they truly mean it and it is NOT a script. The manager loaded our car when no one else was free. She did not tell us to wait until the loader or someone else was available she did it herself!!! That is the type of service I applaud and I will forever drive the distance to give them my money opposed fo another location which is closer for me. Keep it up people and I hope your hard work and dedication shoes in your store numbers because you truly deserve the accolades! read more

Definitely by far my most favorite home goods. From the moment you walk in, it is packed with seasonal decor and goodies. I love this place. I was so happy to find that they had kids decor and bedding and was able to give my children's bedrooms an updated look on a budget! read more

Don't get me wrong, I love HomeGoods but this new one is just WAY to small and aisles not wide enough. I don't think they planned on how popular this one would be. Your all over each other in here. No room for carts at all. I had to go all the way around people and miss certain aisles and then came the checkout! The line, oh my god! There was 2 cashiers on a Saturday!
