One word SERVICE- something missing these days and delightful surprise . We have had many contractors and suppliers come work on our home and the one thing grossly lacking was customer service . To me that makes all the difference . They came out when they said they would and Chuck was transparent and honest about our options and extremely knowledgable about HVAC. We had another company that was due to come out for a quote , but due to Chuck Delong and his exceptional service I didn't even care about the other quote and went with a new AC unit from Home Sense same day at our request. I am confident that we will be well taken care of moving forward and that security is very important to us and gives Home Sense a leg up on not just other HVAC companies but most other companies in Indy in unrelated fields .As a former business owner i can testify that word of mouth is absolutely the best advertising ( and the worst if you don't come across with the value ). It was one of the first hot weeks of the summer. We were hitting 90 degree temps and our AC stopped working. It went out on a Friday night. I called around first thing Monday morning. Everyone I spoke to said the earliest they could come out to fix my AC was Thursday! I found Homesense on Yelp, they were great. They actually moved non-emergency appointments around to fit me in at 10:00am that same morning. With an 8 month old at home who was melting, I GREATLY appreciated this! Great HVAC company to work with! All of their staff is very knowledgable and they really care about their customers. I had my furnace replaced in the middle of winter and they were incredibly professional and easy to get along with through the whole install. I loved that Jeff, who gave me the quote, wanted to make sure I could I could reach my filter without needing a ladder. It makes a huge difference to know they care about stuff like that. And my installers Chuck and Sam made sure to consolidate my new lines to use less pipe and make the system overall a little more efficient. There's just a lot of consideration in this company for what the customer has to deal with. Plus their prices are competitive! Like most people, I hate opening the yellow-pages to pick a professional to fix something in my house-- especially something I don't understand like HVAC systems. I initially picked a different company to look at my AC unit (which was a mistake). After that experience, I tried homsense and was thrilled with the professionalism, quality and value of the service call. the tech. called to confirm he was on the way before he showed up, he put on the plastic boots to keep my house clean. Because I was interested, he patiently explained what he was checking and looking at. Fixing the unit required him to run to the shop to fix the unit, which he did and got the unit fixed that day (which was great considering it was one of the few hot weeks we had this summer). My 4 year old furnace gave out during the cold snap in mid November. I called Homesense and couldn't get an appointment until right before Thanksgiving. Darren shows up and concludes a motor is giving out and a coil is leaking refrigerant, and there might be mold in it as well. He says the parts and labor will be so high, I'm better off replacing the whole system. Uhh okay..He was supposed to get back to me with some numbers for the motor and two weeks role by and I hear nothing, so I leave a note on their website. Brady, the sales manager?, calls me and says he and Darren both tried to contact me but didn't leave voice mails. Then says he'll come out and look at the furnace. He comes out on December 30th, first tells me he wouldn't replace the system given how new it was (a new system would be $5000.00 btw) and he'll get some quotes on the motor and some duct cleaning to clear up the mold. That was over a week ago and I haven't heard anything since from these people. Complete run around, wasted of $85.00 and felt like they were trying to con me suggesting I needed to replace the whole system. Do yourself a favor and find someone a little more committed to their job! read more

Its funny that while I check Yelp reviews, when a business has tons of 5-stars, I get suspicious. However, when our furnace's pilot light wouldn't stay lit, Yelp guided me to Homesense. Emailed with their scheduling staff and Dustin came out the next day to fix the problem. Lo and behold, our 30 year-old furnace motor decided to give up the ghost, and Dustin yet again came out immediately to let us know our repair options options. Jeff came out to get us a quote on a new unit so we could compare prices, and gave some great advice for our home's situation. We signed the quote on Friday night, installation happened Tuesday. Jeff brought over a couple space heaters over the weekend to get us through some cold nights until they could install the furnace! Dustin ended up doing the installation with a helper, they were extremely polite and did a great job with the install. I have 0 issues standing beside a 5-star rating for Homesense. My favorite parts of working with Homesense: - Phone and email options for contacting, with quick responses on both. - Dustin always texted or called me before he headed over, was always early, and answered some texted questions after the first repair. - If anything goes wrong or the repair isn't quite right, they'll come back and make it right without another service call fee. - Technicians who don't try to up-sell you on new equipment you don't need. - Sales staff that build you a quote right away, and work on getting something that fits your needs, not their sales goals. - Sales options, so you can see the other brands of equipment available and make an informed choice. read more

I had called because j was unhappy with the service I received with another company, and Brian gave me advice on how to talk to the other company to get what I needed, he also took the time to explain everything to me to make sure I wouldn't get jerked around. Murphy's law struck once again when our furnace problems showed up during some of the coldest weather of the year. I was forced to evaluate new furnace options at a time that wasn't exactly optimal. After evaluating several suppliers we decided upon Homesense, based on honest principles and the approach they take that is simply different from all of the other scare tactics and pressure we experienced from the others. The team from Homesense got the job done under difficult conditions, including snow on the roof where we had to vent our new high efficiency system, and they really worked hard to make the experience as non-disruptive as possible, and to keep our house clean in what is very difficult work and under messy, snowy conditions. Anytime the air condition stops working in your house there is always the concern of what it will cost and how long will you be without air condition. Ours stopped working Sunday night. I called Homesense Monday morning and they came out that afternoon. They checked the compressor, refrigerant and the capacitor. It turned out to be the capacitor and after the quick replacement, our air condition was back working. I could not ask for better service. Thank you Homesense! read more

. I was an actual customer of this company but no more. Set and confirmed appt window from 12-2. Waited for them to show or at least contact me but nothing. Called them at 2:10 only to be told their technician tried repeatedly to contact me via call, text and voice mail but had to cancel appt because they couldn't reach me. I did not receive any call etc from them and this was all by design. They never tried to contact me even once and tried insinuating I had a problem with my phone. Spoke with one of the owners who finally admitted they would simply lose to much money in installations etc. to take on my project. I would have to wait until fall. I can deal with the latter excuse but not the bold-faced lies that they tried really hard to contact me. They made the decision they were not going to keep their appt with me and had no intentions of letting me know until I called them. This is a refreshingly different customer service approach???. I had bad luck with 2 other HVAC contractors recommended by friends and family. On the 3rd attempt I decided to use Yelp. I found HomeSense at the top of the pile right where they belong. I called on Thursday, got an actual appointment(!) at noon on Friday. Technician called me at quarter til to let me know he was on his way. He quickly diagnosed the problem and clearly explained it to me and was very polite and pleasant. . Unfortunately I don't think I can use HomeSense to do the work because my unit is covered by a home warranty, but I would if I could. I paid only $85 for the service call. They sent a few technicians to ultimately diagnose the issue as having been caused by a lightening strike. Based on the Yelp reviews we found on this website we called Homesense when our AC needed servicing. They were able to schedule us for the next morning. Dustin from Homesense showed up the next day at the scheduled time. He was very professional, polite and efficient. He checked out the AC and gave us an assessment of our problem and a reasonable quote for the needed work. We asked him to go ahead with the repair. Within an hour he had our problem fixed and there have been no further problems with our AC. We would recommend Homesense and Dustin to anyone with AC problems. read more

In an update to my previous review, we had our scheduled maintenance yesterday. Come to find out there is a piece that was not properly installed on our outdoor unit. That little part has been causing our furnace to not run properly. (Which means our heating bill has been more, add that to the list of cost out of our pockets) The technician was pleased that it was only a $2ish part and luckily our furnace is still under warranty because it will be about a 3 hour process. So to recap, we have had 3 issues in less than one years time do to poor installation that have cost us a lot of money out of pocket. Like I said in my original review, I have no confidence that this furnace is not going to give out on us. The amount of money and labor we spent seems to be a waste. I would recommend going with another company, or at least have another company come and check their work. read more

Professional. Courteous. Responsive. Just three words I would use to describe my experience with Homesense. I arrived home from work one evening during the extreme cold and snow storm and found that our heating system was not functioning. I made several calls to previous providers and a few others, but most companies were several days out on scheduling due to the extreme cold. When I called Homesense the person answering the phone was very courteous and took all of my info and had someone call me back a short time later. They took the time to ask questions and understand what was going on and were very empathetic. I was then called the following morning regarding scheduling and someone was there within 30 minutes. In the middle of the day and during a baby shower I was throwing at my house with 20 people, I noticed my AC was not working. A friend recommended that I call Homesense. The gal I spoke with was extremely friendly and suggested I do a couple things before they made a house call. I followed her directions, but unfortunately it didn't work and I had to have them come out. My technician, Darren, came out within an hour (Saturday evening). He was very professional and did a thorough inspection. He explained a lot of things to me that I was completely unaware of and answered my 20 questions. He just left at 9pm on a Saturday night and my AC has never worked better than it does now! 2014 was incredibly mild and, of course, our AC unit broke on the first day of summer temperatures. Homesense came out the day I called them and installed a new more efficient unit the next day. We have a newborn and the quick turnaround was very much appreciated. Not only did they not try to up-sell me on things I didn't need (and in the sweltering heat, I would have taken anything they recommended), but they pointed out that some existing equipment was in good shape and did not need replacing. In February of 2015 my heat pump died. I called out a repairman from another company who said it made sense financially to replace it. I got the same opinion from another HVAC company. I asked for quotes from both of those companies and Homesense. In the end I went with Homesense which was competitively price. I chose Homesense because they stressed honesty and integrity. I realize many salesman stress those qualities, but for whatever reason I believed Homesense. Three and a half years later, I can confirm that they have backed up the commitment they made to me in February 2015. I had an issue with my A/c this summer. The first technician thought he fixed it but did not. Homesense was on it. The second technician, a supervisor, came out and took care of the problem. The owner personally called to make sure I was satisfied with his company's service. I would recommend Homesense without reservation. read more
