In February 2021, we got some rats in the attic and subfloor. HomeShield came to our house and did a complete inspection of our home, inside and out. They identifies all the entry points, sealed them up, including making custom covers for our subfloor entryways. They set traps, came by to take away the kill, and cleaned everything up, leaving the areas spic and span, free of any animal waste. It took two weeks, start to finish, to make sure we caught every last rodent. This is more like 2.5 stars because initial contact was fine but the company has not responded to questions I have about their contract. Consequently, I am prepare to signed the work agreement but cannot since I want to understand the scope of work better before doing so. The technician who came to inspect my property did a reasonably thorough job and answered my initial questions well. That is why I awarded 2.5 stars. He then sent us the contract. I read through it and had some questions. Calling the main number each time the person who answered it said that they could only schedule appointments and could not answer my questions. They said they would ask the technician to call me back. However, it is 3 days now and I still haven't received a call back despite leaving messages twice. It's odd to me that a company would go to all the trouble of arranging possible business and then peter out right before contract signing. read more

Staff: Everyone from the owner who replied via Yelp, to the receptionist, to Sergio who did the inspection, to Manny who performed the work I have been incredibly impressed. Each person was very friendly, professional, informative, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in helping me. They provided all of the information I needed to make the right decision and had my estimate prepared the same day. Value: I assume the pricing was fair but first time having to deal with termites. I know it was more affordable than tenting for sure. Was able to get a $200 coupon which was a nice additional savings they offered. Best of all they use organic and safe products which is very reassuring. Work: Sergio and Manny were both great. Both showed up wearing masks, booties, and took all precautions to make me feel safe. Day of the work Manny showed up right on time and started outside. Outdoor work was done on the fascia and soil treatment. He cleaned up everything without any sign of being here. Manny even offered to paint the treated/replaced area but I did not have the paint. He kindly left me a piece of the old facia to take to paint store to match. Inside he left no trace of being here and laid tarps on my carpet to ensure he protected my interior. Overall: I couldn't be happier with their service. The work comes with a one year warranty of the whole house which you can opt to renew in a year. I'll be looking also into their pest services as well to handle crickets, spiders, and others due to the green and safe products they use. Definitely recommend this company. read more

Really great service with great customer-contractor communication as well as autopay available .... AT FIRST. I really hate leaving negative reviews as I know the impact it can have on smaller businesses but the issues have persisted even after canceling the membership. Honestly so disappointed in the service we've received for the past year we've had them- from the first few months in to even now that the service has been canceled for 2 weeks. We found HOMESHIELD and were super excited to contract them as in the summer our home gets a plethora of bugs. At the beginning everything went as scheduled and customer support/ communication was great. Then a few months in we started having billing problems and were not notified by them whatsoever. 3 months go by without us being charged (which we had autopay set up so we wouldn't have to worry about missing a payment) only to randomly being told that we had 3 months back pay and autopay was discontinued - NOT BY US but by THEM (not notified of this change as well). They said that we could set up a pay off plan (which meant we still had to pay for the monthly service + back pay in installments within 2 months). Meanwhile we had not had anyone come do the auto- scheduled service of our home during this time as guaranteed by the plan we chose at the beginning. After this we were "helped" by a leading rep and switched to a quarterly plan ("financially friendly" option for customers going through a hard time) as an alternative to us canceling. We decided to give them another chance once again, and again ran into issues. We were still getting billed but no one was coming out to service and when they would be scheduled to they would cancel last minute. Tired and irritated as it felt like it was never ending issues, we decided to cancel our membership. We called and the same reps who had previously helped us and specifically told us to direct any future communications to them all of a sudden forgot our account/situation(s) - on top of that anytime we would call during said work hours/days we would be sent straight to voice mail with no call backs. Again we were charged the planned price (no one came out to service) we ultimately decided to cancel and have our money for the last charge refunded. Rushingly we were told that it was too late to refund us as the payment request was sent out and couldn't be canceled. We were yet again redirected to the same rep as before who wouldn't answer our calls, who said that they would cancel the payment transaction and refund us for that month and that it would be returned into our banking account within 4-5 business days. It's been 2 weeks and we still haven't received our money back. read more

I called Homeshield Pest Control to have my crawl space sprayed for black widows. I was in desperate need of assistance as my plumber requested the crawl space to be rid of the spiders before he came back for bathroom repair. I explained to the Homeshield rep that several companies informed me that they did not provide that kind of service? Thay I was looking for a company who can. The gentleman on the phone said they provide crawl space service and that they can service the property in two days' time. Perfect!! When the technician arrived, I explained the location of the crawl space, and that was when I was told that Homeshield techs do not service underneath the house. Not only did I waste several hours of my time waiting on arrival time, but the days in between were wasted, as I could have looked for another company. I'm more disappointed than anything. read more

She went with localized treatment, which included replacing some exterior wood and treatment in the attic. Dario and Juan did the wood replacement, and she was so happy with the job they had done (compared to the last termite company she used!). They did a great job and were very friendly. Then Daniel came about a week later and treated the attic. He, too, was friendly and thorough with his work. All three took care not to rush through their tasks. We have been using HomeShield for about two years now and this is the first review we have posted. Our experience over the past two years has been great and we have had nothing but a good experiences with the company. We wanted to take time to write a review and thank Alek Miranda for going far above and beyond our expectations during our last quarterly treatment. Recently, between treatments, we developed a significant ant problem that spread across our front yard, back yard, as well as inside our house. Alek showed up for the treatment, was kind courteous, professional and really took the time to fully understand the scope of our problem and investigate it. He spent over five-times the amount of time a normal treatment takes to thoroughly investigate and treat our property. He identified multiple ant colonies, a significant spider problem and took the time to identify where the ants were making entry into our residence. Once the problems were identified, Alek thoroughly treated the areas, which included him pulling weeds in certain areas that needed treatment to ensure the product effectively reached its intended destination. Alek did everything he could to address our pest problems when he was there that day and advised he would gladly come back for a second treatment in a few weeks if the problem had not cleared up by then. All steps of the process were carefully detailed, from the gas shutoff, the double bagging of consumables, the tenting procedure, home security, turning back on the gas, to the follow up wood repair for the termite damages. All steps went smoothly and if we had any questions they were very responsive. At that time, he shared with me about the annual inspection that was part of the local treatment service I received in 2022. I received a text message to schedule my annual examination and it was completed today by a HS technician, Josh, who was timely, polite, professional, and VERY thorough. Josh spent close to two hours at our house. Check and treated some local issues and shared with me some points of interest. I'm a happy client, who is happy to give this team another shot last year. We are very happy with our choice of Homeshield. We discovered Subterranean Termites in our Bay Window and immediately scheduled 3 companies to come out and give their bids. We did NOT go with the cheapest! Roberto came and explained exactly what we needed without giving us a "hard sell". He came across as knowledgeable and genuine. This was our 3rd company and we were surprised as his bid was about the same as our 2nd bid but offered a more comprehensive treatment along with a 2 year warranty. A week later Daniel arrived right on time and was more than happy to explain exactly what he would be doing. He got the entire job done within a few hours and everything was cleaned up and looked like he'd never been there. We will request him for any follow up visits that might be needed. This company is very professional and I feel very good about the service they gave us. No pressure to upsell or to do a long term maintenance. It is offered, but never pushed.
