If I could give zero stars I would. Outside of Homeslyce in Canton, I was sexually harassed by patrons in their outside seating area. The minute I walked up to the restaurant, I already knew there would be some kind of comment made or some kind of incident. There were several males outside with an absurd amount of beer cans between them - there were 5 or 6 males and well over 20 beers on a table between them. I stayed outside to make a phone call to my boyfriend who was meeting me there. The men standing outside started cat calling and making stupid drunk comments to me. I went inside and noticed a very large party, used the restroom, and decided to meet my boyfriend outside and go somewhere else. The party inside, that had about 12 or so people seated along the window, had a few pitchers and food between them. They were perfectly in control of themselves and I thought nothing of it. I went outside and crossed the street to meet my boyfriend when one individual male that had been one of the earlier instigators made a rather ridiculous comment - he basically shouted this for the whole world to hear. My boyfriend and I were asked if I "needed a morning-after pill" by this guy who was inebriated. My boyfriend told him to mind his own business and we walked down toward the Square. Upon leaving and looking up the restaurant's phone number, I called and asked to speak to a manager. I was told by the manager that because these patrons were at a birthday party he was not going to do anything about it. The manager told me that these guys were "just having a good time" and that there was nothing he would do. He claimed over and over that each person at the party was allowed to have 2 beers, but what he didn't seem to get was that these guys had either had way more than that or had pre-gamed ahead of time. He was extremely unprofessional and would not apologize. There was a clear case of over-serving people at a party which led to me and my boyfriend to being sexually harassed. So I called the police because of the reaction from management. Update: I was contacted by the owner, who issued an apology. I will not be frequenting this establishment any time soon, but I want to make it clear that people should be allowed to have a good time as long as it is in good taste. All patrons should feel comfortable at an establishment. Drinking is not an excuse for harassment. Managers of any bar should know when to cut off drinks to patrons who are being obnoxious. read more

I was so excited to try this spot after glowing recommendations from local friends. I ordered some fries and margharita pizza. The pizza was 16" and was almost 30'dollars! Upon pickup, i opened the pizza box to find a super greasy pizza that was salty to taste. For an expensive small pizza, I expected more. Fries were salty and overcooked. I won't order from here again. Waste of money to be quite honest. It's a spot that "sounds" good but is actually pub-style pizza. The pizza has greae dripping from the top and bottom of the pie. In summary, I would order from this establishment again. I am a first time customer and ordered online through Yelp Eat24 application. I took advantage of their 16" pizza and bottle of wine deal. Now there was a major error with my order, which caused me to cancel my order. Things happen with any business. However, once the owner learned of the situation and the mistake made by his staff he promptly contacted me and made it right. He was extremely gracious and apologetic. I extremely impressed at the owner's response time and genuine sense to make it right when a mistake was made. Mistakes are bound to happen and how a business handles them really speaks volumes to the kind of business they are. Well done for great customer service. I liked how this business has creative pizzas that go beyond the traditional ingredients. Overall I thought the pizza was good. The variety of recipes makes it fun. I absolutely love Homeslyce. It is close to my house, there are awesome specials during the week, and the pizzas are delicious. The staff are always great, bartenders are nice and friendly, you cannot go wrong with any pizza, and the upstairs has skee ball. I really don't know what more you need. I come here often, usually on a Monday for half-priced slyces (a personal, boat shaped pizza). I've tried most of their pizzas and have liked all of them. I've also had their meatballs (YUM), salads, and gluten free crust. Salads come in a fairly large portion so it's big enough for a meal and are really fresh. Gluten free crust is good, not the best gluten free crust I've ever had because it's a little flimsy, but the pizza is so good it doesn't bother me. Homeslyce is definitely one of the best pizza places in Canton - I highly recommend it for your everyday pizza needs! read more

I was REEEEAAAALY hungry this past weekend (and by hungry, I mean that if you were standing too close to me around 6:17pm, I might have bitten you) and decided that I wanted pizza. Now, working in Columbia, Maryland and having previously scanned their menu, I figured "Aw, what the hell - have to try them sometime, right?" I've seen and partook of a lot of pizza places, but Homeslyce screams "gourmet" about as loudly as the exhaust of a dragster! The sheer numbers and quality of toppings that can be put on one of their pies would make the most ardent foodie's knees weaken. Steak, spinach and feta cheese over the most golden brown crust I've ever eaten had to be the highlight of my otherwise droll weekend. Came here for lunch with some members of my football team after a game one day. The guys here are super friendly, we were able to move some tables around to accommodate everyone. They have their drafts and wine list written on the chalkboard. They have a good selection of beers on tap, including some seasonal selections. We ordered 3 large pizzas for 6 people - the port-the-bella, touchdown pie, and strongman meat. All of the pies were thin crust and had such great taste. The port the bella was savory with some sweetness and tang - the combination of the flavors probably made this my favorite pie. It was had red peppers, caramelized onions, mushrooms, and spinach. The touchdown pie had a kick with the spicy ground beef and the fresh sliced tomatoes added a nice balance to it. The strongman meat was also delicious and very meaty. Not my style, but the rest of my team devoured it. The only gripe is that the bottom crust was slightly soggy and difficult to bite through. There was also not much flavor to the crust, but the edge of the crust was a good consistency with being crispy on the outside and a little chewy on the inside. read more

For only being open a few days I was more than happy with the first of what will be many visits to this new neighborhood eatery. The service was excellent and they were more than accommodating to try and get us a seat for how busy they were. The beer selections were very good and the food was even better. I love love love that Homeslyce came to Canton! I live in Federal Hill and refuse to eat at that location since the service has been consistently bad, but I still love the pizza and want to enjoy it. This location is huge with two floors and plenty of tables and seats at the bar. It is bright and the decor at the downstairs bar is awesome and industrial. I always bounce around between the Chicken Pesto, Margharita, or Spinach and Artichoke Pizza and highly recommend each of them! They also have great beers on tap and rotate them pretty regularly. read more

HomeSlyce - Canton - Great beer selection! - Pizza Near Me - Baltimore, Maryland

This is my first visit to a Homeslyce- I've read great reviews on yelp for their other locations, so I was excited to have a great experience! We came on an afternoon a few days after they opened. The place had a great face lift and they put their own footprint to make the previous restaurant become their own. There are a lot of great beers on tap (about 20?), not sure if these change around or stay static but when we went they had some good ones including some of my faves like Stone IPA, Loose cannon, and blood line (written 'blood orange' on the wall). The beers are a bit pricey, Stone IPA was $7.50- their happy hour Monday through Friday makes the beers 5$, but with other local places offering better deals such as Mahaffeys right around the corner serving up three 10 oz beers of same quality for 6$- it isn't the best deal you'll find around. We ordered two pizzas- 14$ each. the touchdown (which had feta, spicy meat, onions, and tomato slices) and a half peperoni half meatball. The pizzas took about 15 minutes to come out- they looked great when they arrived but the taste didn't deliver for me. The pizza had a corn meal crust that you could whipe your hand on and have little gritty pieces of corn meal drop all around. The touchdown cheese and toppings weren't hot when it arrived and the dough was a little undercooked. It created a mushy mouthful that wasn't very pleasant. The peperoni were small crispy peperoni with grease pooled in them and the meatballs were broken a part chunks of larger meatballs. Both these topping were pretty good, I think I'll try their meatball sub next time. But again the gritty corn meal crusted that was undercooked- I'm not sure if they have the right pizza oven in place yet at this location or if this is their style. Since they opened a few days earlier, I'll have to give it a few weeks and try it again. Our server was very friendly and did what he could with the little knowledge that he had- he was working the bar and the restaurant on his own (only about 8 people there) and didn't know what any of the beers were. Probably a good idea to get out some flash cards on his down time and memorize what beers they have and what type of beer each one is. Again, something that will likely improve as this location gets more experience... but when you have unique beers, it's good to be able to provide people who haven't had them before a bit more information All in all i'd say that the remodel of this place was quite successful- the location is good and it's nice to have a new spot in town. This experience left me questioning the taste of their pizza - but I will go back after they've had some time to get things in order. I will write an updated review accordingly. Hopefully as the time goes on they'll get a better happy hour going to match surrounding places read more

I've been to the South Baltimore location and it was pretty good. So I figured that getting delivery from the new canton location would be a safe bet. I just ordered delivery and I gotta say I was not impressed at all. We ordered the the 16" Margarita and it was undercooked cold and the tomato sauce was bland and tasteless. Definitely not worth $20. The nachos we ordered were burned and it a very small portion. The only thing that was okay was a calzone but it could have been cooked longer. Hopefully this was a fluke and you won't have to suffer like we did. But there are too many good pizza places in Baltimore for me to give this place a second chance. read more

I really enjoyed the pizza. Truthfully it was a 3.5 star experience but that's not an option, so to balance out the other reviews I landed on 3. The pizza, ingredients, and crust were great. The taste was some of the better thin crust I have had but my $23 pizza with green peppers had about 6-8 thin strips of peppers. Not quite what I was expecting for the price. The salad we ordered was great and the homemade basil vinaigrette was outstanding. There were 6 of us out for dinner and our server had no idea of how to take an order. She would take one order from a couple then leave the table and then come back and take another. Love love love HomeSlyce! This is our favorite local pizza place. I prefer regular to the slyce option - the latter had too much dough for my liking. In town from LA so I thought I'd get some local pizza. I got half strong man (lots of meat) and half Classic(vegetarian) Man was this awesome. I expected the strongman to be good but wondered about the veggie, its hard to make a good veggie pizza. Holy cow though the light flavor of the veggie pizza with walnut was AWESOME! I'm a big fan of homeslyce pizza, living in fed hill I've ordered delivery, take out, and ate in at the one near me. Came here expecting the same type of set up, however it was different. They did a good job face lifting the old Americana though. they seem to have all two seat patio type tables with 2/3 larger 4 person tables to the right of the door way. We ordered a standard pizza and waited about 45 mins for it to come out, and during the wait we didn't have any refills. All in all the canton location has some work to do to get to the standards of the fed hill location. read more

I LOVE HomeSlyce, but we usually go to the Riverside (SoBo/South Baltimore) location. We came to the Canton one tonight because we're going to a Christmas party a few blocks away. I'm in here now and I'm kind of regretting it. We're the only two people in here and it's been tough getting any attention for some reason. All the wait staff seems like they're in terrible moods and are loudly grousing about something. The bartender is especially moody. We love the other Homeslyce because of its cozy, happy, friendly atmosphere, which this place is seriously lacking this time around. :( read more

I had a dreadful first time delivery experience and vowed to never order from here again. About 2-3 months later I caved and ordered a pizza but made no mention of the prior debacle. When the driver showed to my house, it was actually the owner. He apologized for the way the previous order had been handled and said he had only learned of it after the fact. I don't know how they kept track of me but I was very impressed that the owner went so far above and beyond. Top it all off, the pizza was delicious! Since then, we've been back a few times, for dining in. Last nite, I ran into the owner again and he recognized me and thanked me once again for continuing to patronize the restaurant. The man must have the memory of an elephant to remember my face! Needless to say, he has definitely won me over, both with the great food and his warm attitude. My only complaint would be that there are never enough people working. One bartender upstairs who has to run up and down for pitchers and drinks and beer... Not even a bar back to assist.
