Very solid spot for pizza. Typical bar atmosphere. Had no trouble getting seated for two during dinner time however did get a bit rowdy with a large party + kids. Wow. Just wow. A friend told us about this place, and after seeing pictures of the most delicious pepperoni's, my husband needed that pizza for dinner that day. I placed an order online and it was ready for pick up in 15-20ish minutes. We live less than a mile away (a blessing and a curse) and went to go pick it up. When I went inside, there was only one dine in group on a Saturday night at 6:30 pm. It was fairly quiet and they brought my order out right away. When we got home and opened the box, it was like the best present you could ever buy yourself. We opted for the 16" pizza with pepperoni and extra cheese. My husband loves having the extra cheese topping on top of the pepperoni, which we noted,and they delievered on that end. The pizza was so cheesy and had the perfect cheese pull (for all the foodie instagrammers). It had the look of a good pizza with a good amount of grease, but in a very good way. My husband downed 3 slices, and was very full. We also ordered the meatballs, which came with bread (seemed more like cut up crust which I'm not complaining) The meatballs were delicious, and I almost thought about saving some to make myself a meatball sub later. A couple of other people asked me about the pizza after seeing a picture, and I already promised 2 people I would take them there whenever they come to visit. This place has such a great pizza selection. I found myself really struggling to pick just one thing, and wish I had more time here to try a few different options. I ordered the 12" spinach and artichoke pizza and my mom ordered the 12" port-the-bella. I absolutely love when pizza places have unique pizzas, and this place fits right in. My mom's pizza was absolutely delicious and I was actually a little jealous because it was so flavorful. She added jalapeños and it really kicked the pizza up a notch. My pizza was good, but not as good as hers. There was a bit too much artichoke and not enough spinach for my liking, and I found myself picking off quite a bit artichoke in an effort to balance out the two. The ricotta was a nice touch as it really made the pizza feel like a spinach artichoke dope rather than just toppings on a pizza. Despite the unbalance, I still enjoyed it and basically ate the entire thing! After moving to the canton area, we've been doing a heavy audit of all options by us. Being that this was our neighborhood pizza spot, we had to give it a shot. So we placed an order online for two large pizzas, one with pep, one with cheese, and gave it for a swing. At the end of the day, it hit the bar of what we wanted- pizza. No frills, nothing special, but met the requirement. I was surprised by the pepperoni because it actually reminded me of what I've seen in Western NY. For those that aren't familiar, they are smaller pepperoni slices that curl up from the sides when cooked. Not that it was bad, just wasn't expecting it. Pizza itself was okay. I'd say it's a bit thicker with a spongy feel and very oily. If you're into that, it's for you. For me, I enjoy a pizza that requires two hands to grab (NY style). Will I reach for them again for a pizza in a tight spot? Maybe. I'll most likely try elsewhere if given the option. read more

Fix your HVAC! I often get delivery from here but haven't dined-in in a while. Had dinner with the wife and kid and room temprature was tolerable at first. The $6 sandwich special cannot be beat, and you can get it for takeout as well. I have ordered this SO many times. Three little piggies is the best meat sandwich! I am also enthused by their plentiful vegetarian selection. The service is normally acceptable/no issues. Their pizza is next level good! The baby pepperonis are delicious. I could eat the crust every day and not grow tired of it. They usually have good specials on weeknights. I deducted one star for the decorations because they took every element that 'should' be in an old Baltimore corner bar and overdid it a bit, and it feels inauthentic. HomeSlyce is so much fun for trivia on Thursday nights! It's always packed, and it goes from about 8-10. It is a bit loud and sometimes the humor from the host or other team names is sometimes a bit crass. I haven't personally had the pizza here, but I only hear great things from my friends who do trivia with me! Actually, I have had a bit of crust and it was delicious, so I can only imagine how the rest of the pizza is. When you order the pizza, you can get it as the "slyce option" which is kind of like a open faced calzone. I feel very disappointed as I am a regular customer here and live right down the street. This experience was one I will not forget, and I do not plan to go back here. I ordered a cheese pizza online. It was not a regular cheese pizza that came. This pizza had 4 different kinds of cheese (including EXTREMELY aggressive cheeses like gorgonzola and goat cheese) as well as a ton of garlic. My pizza was green. It looked distasteful and smelled even worse. When I called to remedy the situation, Joe (who identified himself as the manager) got on the phone informed me he could only offer me a 50% off pizza. I asked why my pizza wouldn't be replaced as I was willing to give back the pizza they originally delivered that was untouched and uneaten because it was not what I ordered. He said that he just couldn't take that "risk" as a business. At that point I said thank you, I'll be there to pick up the pizza, and hung up the phone fully expecting my 50% off pizza to still be made. I did not feel my order was delivered correctly nor my problem solved, the customer service was lack luster and I did not feel listened to or heard. After letting these feeling sink in for just a few minutes, I realized I did not want to pay for a replacement pizza, I would just order from somewhere else. I called back to cancel that order in under 5 minutes, Joe (the manager) informed me he had already cancelled my order. This behavior is appalling. I order from Homeslyce fairly regularly, enough that I get the text discounts. I can assure you I will no longer be ordering from the Canton Homeslyce. read more

Love love love. How could I not love this place? It's right around the corner from my house! The pizza was spot on, The decor is really nice, the staff is polite and helpful, and they were great neighbor. I stopped in on day one to try a HomeSlyce, their signature item which is somewhat like a calzone only it's open faced. My food arrived in just a few minutes and it was hot and oh so good. I got the meat lovers one which they called the strongman and asked for no sausages were they followed. I'm not exactly a pizza connoisseur but I know good pizza when I taste it. This pizza is really good! But you have to try it yourself. It was hot, crisp crust and good cheese consistency. It is no wonder they won best pizza in the March City Paper. The inside of HomeSlyce is very warm and there's a nice bar on both levels and ample seating. They have to skee ball tables on the upper floor but you can play for $.50 a round and there is a league that plays there on certain nights. As with any opening of a new location/business there are always a few bumps when you start out. But there are no longer anymore hiccups here. Last night I ordered a 16" pizza with roasted garlic, caramelized onions, pepperoni and ricotta. I decided to try the wheat option and even got it delivered through OrderUp. I got the pizza to my door ONLY 18 minutes after I ordered....and I don't live just down the block. I couldn't believe it. The pizza was piping hot, the pepperoni was crispy and all the veggies fresh. The ricotta was a bit light but the taste was fantastic! This experience changed the way I look at both HomeSlyce and OrderUp. I will continue to be a loyal patron if this is the status quo. read more

The pizza here is great! This is largely due to the vast selection of toppings which are fresh and tasty. You can even choose from regular or beef pepperoni and lamb/beef meatballs. There are way too many toppings that I like to list here, so just check out the menu. If you are like me, you want more than one topping and don't want it to fall of the slice. They solved this problem by forming your slice into a boat for you to load up. One slice is more than enough food and is even cut into 3 pieces. The sandwiches are great too. If you like spinach and either like or are impartial to feta cheese, you MUST get the spinach pie (which is not a pie at all)!! It is so delicious! My two stars are NOT reflective of the food; I would have given our meal 4.5 stars! The two stars are for the problem with the receipt. I don't know if this is an honest error or not. If you look at the suggested tip percentages based upon our bill, you can see in this instance (if you know your math) that the percentages are either 22 or 24%, not the 20% they have listed (this depends on if your tip is based on excluding or including the tax.) Some folks might say that if you are too math challenged to figure out what 20% of your bill is, then you deserve to get fleeced. On the other hand, many folks are just lazy and assume that what is printed is correct. Since this is significantly in the "house's favor" I'm calling them out on this. You really can't beat the $5 sandwich deal on Thursdays. I actually think I like their sandwiches more than the pizza. The bread is almost like a pizza dough, delicious. You can get a sandwich, fries, and little salad all day long for $5...incredible deal Pizzas are good, not my absolute favorite in the neighborhood but definitely legitimate. I've had the worst luck finding good pizza since moving to Baltimore-I'm still searching for a good old place to get a classic NY style cheese pizza, but for when I'm feeling like lots of toppings, HomeSlyce is where it's at. They had a Groupon going when I first moved to town that was good for two purchases, and I've continued to go back since those pizzas were so delicious. I can't seem to stray from the HomeSlyce Classic, which honestly sounds like a train wreck, with goat and mozzarella cheese, walnuts, eggplant, spinach, etc....and to make it more complicated, I add the tasty beef sausage they carry, soujouk. Don't be deceived! This crazy pizza is seriously delicious. The guys who work at the Canton location are super nice, and the Groupon was only good at the other two locations, and I had fine service there as well. In fact, yesterday I was a little late picking up my pizza and a kindly man called to make sure I didn't want it delivered. Super nice. I also recently tried their meatball sandwich, which was really yummy and for only $5 on Thursdays (for all the sandwiches), with fries and a little salad, it is a serious steal! I live in the Canton Neighborhood and was craving pizza. Home Slyce has some of the best pizza around. I enjoyed a cheese pizza as well as an order of wings. Nancy the waitress was really kind and got my order out as soon as it was ready. The atmosphere was that of a bar so I wouldn't recommend bringing children as it is also a sports bar. This Chicago native may have just found the best pizza on the east coast. I was completely blown away by the pie at HomeSlyce in Baltimore. This pizza is truly incredible. Typically I alternate hawaiian, buffalo chicken and margarita pizza but the "HomeSlyce Classic" caught my attention and I couldn't look away. Just listen to these ingredients: HomeSlyce Sauce, goat & mozzarella cheese, walnuts, eggplant, spinach, caramelized onions and roasted peppers. I was a little weary of the walnuts, but it paired well with the goat cheese, and added a good crunch. The veggies were small, equally spread out, perfectly cooked and went surprisingly well together. And the crust!! I could go on and on about the crust, it was like nothing I have had before. I have ordered the large 16" pizza and their Homeslyce pizza with a variety of toppings in addition to their salads and wings. When I am paying this much for pizza, I should be receiving the high quality every time and not wonder what kind of pizza I will get.
