Excellent atmosphere, nice customer service, perfect menu options for all appetites. Lovely sit down cafe after a stroll through Baker University.

This charming little kitchen is a keepsake-find in our books! Looking for something unique and memorable for NewYear's breakfast after we slept through New Year's Eve, we were blown away with the variety and very appealing European-style buffet breakfast! The beautiful display of all their delectable, freshly home-baked goodies and other breakfast 'commoners', evoked a long-lost inner excitement to the foodie-me (never experienced before at other American breakfast restaurants)! All of us felt festive and intensely satisfied when leaving, since you get to browse through their little store for unique finds and sights of retail-therapy. Definitely worth the drive from Overland Park!

Food was ok pretty high priced for what you get. They want you to tip when you order. You need to earn the tip. Happy I opted out of the tip because I did not have any service. Daughter read a FB post about regular customers honking or will refuse service to make a neighbor happy. Your downtown honking may happen LOL!

Adorable kitchen and gift shop nestled into this quaint downtown. I liked the Mexican street tacos, but recommend you ask for extra salsa. They were a little dry. My wife really enjoyed the Greek Wrap. She loves feta and there was a generous portion. Their chicken bacon ranch wrap was good too. Their Apple Cider Donuts are covered in cinnamon sugar, but weren't too sweet like a glazed donut. The whole family gave them a thumbs up. I would make the 45 drive to eat here again.

This place is so good! I just started college in this town so I will definitely be back for more! I got a chocolate chip pecan scone with their special "Brick Road" drink, which is almond milk, espresso, spiced brown sugar, and caramel!

Homestead Hash. Fantastic! Breakfast ends at 10:30.

Best coffee on earth. All homemade goods, great meal deals during the week. The daily lunch specials are excellent.

Great menu recommendations, solid knowledge of the beers, and good balance of checking on us but giving us time to talk. bar: I drank the Hopular Sovereignty ($6 as of 12/2023) which is a solid, West Coast IPA. Not as bitter and citrusy as some, but still a very well executed version of that style. That said, with their tap list, there's a beer style for every person. Appears to be full service bar with cocktails also. food: We started onion rings ($9) and they were great. Clearly house made. I had the bacon burger ($9) with tots. Especially for the price since it was the daily special, this is an awesome burger. My wife had the turkey club ($14) with beans. The sandwich is a real slice of turkey breast! It was incredibly good and the beans were great. Another person had soup of the day, broccoli cheddar ($8 for bowl), and reported it was good. Details: Lots of surface parking outside. There are also outside tables when the weather is better. Plenty of TVs with sports behind the bar. An incredibly long bar with dozens of seats. Bright, open space with high ceilings.

The gentleman who initially greeted us was friendly, welcoming, and working to find us a table. While he was doing that, an older blonde woman came to the hostess stand, asked if we were with the baseball team already seated, and when we said no, immediately told us it would be a 20-30 minute wait for food because there were only two people working. It felt less like setting expectations and more like she was trying to discourage us from staying. When the host returned to seat us, we mentioned we were reconsidering because of how we had been treated. The woman then came back and told him the kitchen couldn't handle our party of six. Given the mixed messages and unwelcoming attitude, we decided to leave. The host was great, but the interaction with the other employee ensured we won't be back.
