Had a chance to visit their new Public Market spot...not bad, but not unforgettable either. The burger was solid; the jalapeños were super fresh, but they were so fiery that they overpowered things. A pickled or candied version would've balanced nicely and brought more flavor contrast. The tenderloin sandwich was dry and needed more sauce for sure. Fries were nicely seasoned though. All in all, it'll work if you need a quick bite, but it didn't spark much excitement. Service was a little slow too considering how (not) busy they were. read more

Stopped in for the first time in years this morning! I got biscuits & gravy and a donut to go. The b&g were good but nothing spectacular. Had to add hot sauce to them. The donut was great. I loved that the outside was a little bit crunchy. Service was fine, again, nothing spectacular. Not a place I'd go out of my way for, but would come back if I am in Baldwin for some reason. read more

The food speaks for itself. Mouthwatering! Staff is super nice, they have younger teens working, which is great to see! There was a line our entire stay, but I'd literally line up everyday with biscuit and sausage gravy like they have. Nice big area for people to sit and eat, or wait. And omg the portions! Next time I'm bringing my appetite and ordering the sausage gravy in a large and a straw. 1000/10, we will be back! read more

I met a friend for coffee and hadn't been before. The food she ordered looked nice- nothing extraordinary but homey. I ordered coffee, and was pleased to hear they offer free refills. Unfortunately, the coffee wasn't something I wanted more of. It was passable, but brewed pretty weak and lacking body. I understand it's a cafe, not a fancy coffee shop, but bland was the only way to describe it. Overall, the experience was fine; if I'm in Baldwin City again, and someone wants to eat there, I'd go with them and try the food. Just not the coffee. read more

The baked goods looked awesome. Big donuts and cinnamon rolls. I opted for the 7 buck special of b & gs, bacon and a couple of eggs. They were great. Kid got some waffles and bacon. He said the were just ok. Bacon was not fatty and crispy. Haven't been in this town before, but would come here again for breakfast. read more

Food was ok pretty high priced for what you get. They want you to tip when you order. You need to earn the tip. Happy I opted out of the tip because I did not have any service. Adorable kitchen and gift shop nestled into this quaint downtown. I liked the Mexican street tacos, but recommend you ask for extra salsa. They were a little dry. My wife really enjoyed the Greek Wrap. She loves feta and there was a generous portion. Their chicken bacon ranch wrap was good too. Their Apple Cider Donuts are covered in cinnamon sugar, but weren't too sweet like a glazed donut. The whole family gave them a thumbs up. I would make the 45 drive to eat here again. read more

Wonderful baked goods! Their cherry turnovers are my favorite. This is a great spot to meet with friends or family to share a meal or a cup of coffee and a homemade pastry. Stop in to check out cute Knick knacks as well! I like to shop here for unique and fairly priced items. The only thing I don't recommend is their coffee. Not a fan of whatever they're brewing, but the homemade pastries make up for it. read more

Our son goes to BU and told us about this new diner. We drove to Baldwin City to take him to breakfast. LOVED LOVED LOVED this very quaint little place. All the baked items are made fresh that day We got there right as they opened and saw tray after tray of baked goods coming out of the kitchen! My son and I had the $6 biscuits and gravy - yes homemade biscuits - wonderful My husband had waffles and sausage and thought it were very good My daughter had a chocolate chip scone that she loved. It does get busy so be there first thing or be patient. Highly recommend! My only regret..we didn't think to take any pictures! read more

I didn't have a good experience here. I was trying to buy a couple of items that were priced and sitting on the table with the rest of the merchandise for sale. I was told they went with something else and weren't for sale. I was told this in passing - the lady pointed to some items on another table, but didn't slow down long enough for me to ask any questions. Why would you turn down a sale, and why would you put an individual price on something if it's part of something else, I wondered. However, I let it go and moved on to something else. They had a display of pastas with no prices on any of them. I asked another employee what the price was a couple of times, but never did find out. No customer service at all. read more
