I grew up eating this pizza, their subs, their dinners. I left Sch'dy 21 years ago, but the first thing I do when I get home is get me some Homestyle! I am an executive in the restaurant industry. I have worked within pizza for national and regional chains for over 20 years. This is STILL my favorite pizza and Italian food. I love the sauce more than anything else. The pizza industry is the most competitive restaurant sector by far and the northeast is home to multiple Italian-American establishments and Homestyle's success cannot be overstated. I've been eating here for over 10 years now. The food is really good! Subs, pizza, burgers and all. The one thing that I can say that has been consistent though is the incompetence of the people who work there. The reason I say this is that My orders have been screwed up so many times that I can't remember. Wrong pizzas, not enough pizzas, wrong subs, not enough subs, missing items, salad dressing wrong etc, etc...... I realize that these things happen from time to time, but they have brought it to a whole new level. Over the years I've stopped ordering from them from them several times for periods as long as two years, but always try again in hopes the things will change. Because I like the food! Each time I return, things go well just long enough that I don't feel like I have to inspect my order like a freakin detective. Then..... BAM! An epic eff up. This time we ordered a buffalo salad, burger and BLT. Everything tastes good except the BLT, because it had no bacon.... I called to make them aware of the bacon deficiency and they offered to make a new one. I refused because I'm sitting at the dinner table. I don't want to go back out. So he made a counter offer... $3 off my next purchase. Wow. So by my rough calculation, that's the difference between the price of a vegetable sub (which I have) and a BLT (which I payed for). Thank you ! I feel like you really want me as a customer, because your basically repaying me for the overpayment on my sweet veggies sub. All in all, I'm done. For good this time. Well, you'll wait an hour and a half for delivery, but at least the food will be cold. Service is terrible - I've been overcharged, skipped over in line and yelled at (yes, yelled at) in front of other customers for employees' mistakes (and there have been several). They don't toss their wings in sauce, even if asked - presumably as a cost-cutting measure as they don't provide nearly enough sauce on the side to coat the wings - so expect a few naked wings at the end of your meal. They're also on the high end price-wise. On the positive side, their food is fantastic if they get it right (not as often as you'd like) and you get it right away (not as often as you'd like). That's why we continue ordering...despite our better judgment. read more

Had lunch here today with SO's mum. Staff was attentive and the food was delish! Mum had the personal pizza with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms, I had the antipasto. Both were big enough to take home leftovers for dinner. Will return to try other items soon. read more

I've been coming to Homestyle from the day it opened when I was just five. This was the best Italian food and pizza around! Now several years later... we'll it's just not the same. I feel they don't care what the food is like that they are sending out. The taste is lacking. We ordered fried Ravioli.... menu said with marina sauce.... we received KETCHUP!!! Yes KETCHUP!!!! Are you kidding me?!? ICK!!! We also ordered a White pizza with broccoli and mushrooms.... the pizza had no garlic favor at all and I the toppings were sparse. We were SO DISAPPOINTED!!! I've ordered from here several times over the past few years and the service has steadily declined. So why did I order again? Moving out of the area and I figured I'd give them one more shot. I ordered at 2 pm Superbowl Sunday for a 6:30pm delivery. My order showed up an hour late! The pepperoni pizza barely had pepperoni, the calamari was inedible, the antipasto salad was cheap prepackaged veggies on some lettuce. I didn't even bother to complain. Home Style was once an excellent choice for individual or family dinning. However over the years their quality of food and customer service has taken a serious nose dive. I'm not sure what's going on. Are they under new management or do they just not give a dam anymore. With the experiences that I have had lately they don't give a dam about the customers, it's all about the money for them. They are frequently messing up orders and burning the food. When I call to let them know about my concerns the manager brushed me off and another time a young lady said she was the manager and all she had to say was I'm sorry. No compensation for the poor quality of their food and the extremely poor customer service. The only thing I can depend on at this establishment is their wings and pizza. If you're going to get it...Only get delivery. For the last couple years I have regularly ordered food from this place. It has become apparent that the only way to get good service is to have that food delivered. (Good food is another story) Every single time I pick up the food, I have a negative experience with the staff. Either they make fun of me, lose my order, or blame me for one of their mistakes. I took their awful comments with good humor for a while, but after another recent mishap on their part, I'm done. If you want to try this place, get delivery. The food overall isn't that bad. The pizza is usually undercooked though, which some people do enjoy. Recently, we tried ordering wraps from them. Both wraps contained the same mix of ingredients from the wraps on our order. I can not emphasize how much of a disappointment this place is. After avoiding this place for about 10 years I decided to give it another shot. To my surprise the food was actually good came quicker than I expected hot and tasty. That was apparently not a normal day because the 3 subsequent times I ordered from the food was terrible. I have gone to this pizza place on and off for the past 20+ years, and we decided to try it again after a 10+ year break. I felt that it was not great 10 years ago, but thought maybe it's improved since. NO! The worst, bland, no taste, doughy pizza I have had since I last had their product years ago - it may have actually gotten worse! We bought a plain cheese pizza, and a specialty pizza with a thinner crust and "fresh" mozzarella and mushrooms. The plain cheese was the worst of the two, but the specialty pizza was just a tad better - could not tell the difference between the "fresh" mozzarella and the plain regular cheese pizza. Would not recommend either one! For "homestyle" you would be better off making it at home, or even going to a chain. I'm shocked they have stayed in business! read more

My hubby was craving pizza. This place catered our wedding a few years ago and was excellent. Flavor is still spot on, service great. Cost comparison for what we received, fair. Probably would stop in again since flavor was great, ....just disappointed for how "bready" the calzone was. However, if I was looking for delicious bread...certainly the place to be. Homestyle has been our family's "go to" for years. We dine in and get the take out dinners. The pizza, wings, salads, sandwiches, dinners- all excellent- never a bad meal. I have been eating Homestyle pizza since I was a kid and I am 37, great pizza, great entrees, reliable delivery.

We ordered a large pizza, pick up. It was cold, the crust was dry, over cooked, even blacken on the bottom. The sauce was tasteless and the cheese was nearly nonexistent. It reminded me of the pizzas they made for the elementary school lunches with the sprinkle cheese only. We got a side of penne pasta it was so mangled and mushy you could identify a total of two penne in the entire pint. Again it was tasteless. We definitely DO NOT RECOMMENDED this place. read more

The online ordering appears to not work well. Too many times I have ordered online and still had to wait well beyond the stated pick up time. Then, when I finally receive my food there is no acknowledgement of my extra wait time. If I hadn't tipped in advance on my order I would not give one for such poor service. This restaurant is either really good or really bad, mostly bad. They consistently get your take out order wrong, conveniently don't have a driver to deliver the correct order and always offer to give you a "store credit" for their error, just so that you can keep coming back. The manager is rude and doesn't like to deal with disappointed customers. We have been customers for 18 years. Worst service I have ever received. When we placed our order, the person on the phone said it would be 45 minutes. After waiting an hour and a half and making a few phone calls to see if everything was ok, our delivery guy showed up with our COLD pizza and three salads. Two of the salads were in tact, however the third was not... the dressing was in a brown paper bag, upside down and open, creating a huge mess. Prices online do not match the prices that show up on your receipt when you order takeout. The Manager/owners are unwilling to concede that they have any responsibility for the accuracy of their online menu. Instead of doing what I think is the right thing and crediting me the price difference, my credit card company is going to deny the payment for my bill and the managers can try to convince Citibank why they should be paid for what essentially is false advertising. read more

Last 2 deliveries had issues however with first nearly 2 hour wait after they forgot to put order in when I called after 80 minutes & both pizzas lacking sausage with 3 slices of 8 only one sausage on each & only 2 average on Rest . Love this food. Family-owned and -operated, and I don't think I've had a bad meal here. This is one of those places that seems to have survived every other tom-dick-and-harry 'pizza' shop with great results and really shows what you get when you put pride into your food product.
