So we saw Carlton Bakery and they delivered on the veggie options. We both ordered local mushroom sandwiches without meat and a couple of croissants all to go. The sandwiches came with small salads with radish and soy beans (very tasty). I probably could have bought half the items in the store as everything looked delicious. The sandwiches were tasty, good bread which was lightly toasted. The croissants were very good as well, pretty close to those in France. It took about 5-10 minutes for our order to be ready. The service was great, friendly and quick. I'd definitely return to Carlton Bakery in the future.

Thanks Joseph for helping me. For some time now, I've ran out of dinner selections for my personal gatherings at home. Now being single, I have much more confidence to experiment with new dishes and ingredients when i invite guests for dinner. Highilights: Joseph introduces Vegan dishes. Gougere (cheese appetizer), Nicoise Salad (Mediterranean salad), Potato Gratin, and Peach Creme Brulee. Everything was incredibly clean and tidy, including the bathrooms which were decorated with hilarious quirky signage. Staff was super helpful answering my questions and patient while I studied the menu and made last minute changes so I could get the literal perfect sandwich of my dreams. I almost cried with happiness once I gazed upon the deliciousness before me- it was absolutely epic and perfectly portioned not too much and definitely not skimpy AND was still nice and warm when I got home. They let me know they were wholesale only (though they do sell direct to the public at some farmers markets and their ilk), however they were super nice and suggested I check out Chehelam Flats Farm Market as they stock Van Hevelingen's plants for the spring and summer. Chehelam Flats is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10-5, so when I was in the area last weekend, I excitedly made my way there. They have a couple parking spaces on the side of their building, and as I exited my car, I noticed all their fields of lavender! I had not known that was a big part of this market, but goodness, I sure do love me some lavender. I was greeted by the lovely proprietress who let me know their lavender will be in bloom late June to July, and that they will offer bunches pre-cut or you can cut your own. She was also quick to suggest local businesses and events as I am new to the area and was just all around so kind and charming! Back to the plants, I zeroed in on all the fun and unusual herbs, and quickly had a growing box (okay, two!) of goodies: sweet cicely, variegated lemon balm, variegated society garlic, French sorrel, licorice sweet flag, pink rosemary, eau de cologne mint, yerba Buena, and a Chinese chrysanthemum. They also have plenty more traditional herb offerings, native plants as well as some flowers, not to mention I don't even know how many lavender plants in a variety of sizes. Inside, there were some houseplants, along with many kitchen and home goods: candles, soap and other bath and body items, tea towels, even treats like pate de fruit (a favorite!). They had gorgeous wooden pieces included a rolling pin that a totally fell in love with. You could put together such a lovely gift here! The whole area was just gorgeous and while you should absolutely visit when you can take advantage of fresh lavender, I had a wonderful experience without it. They will also have other plants like tomatoes as the weather warms. I cannot wait to return.

I had a shawarma wrap, SCW a gyro and we also got an order of hummus which came with pita. The food itself was good. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The tomatoes stood out for me as better than usual. The pea protein was tasty but added a different flavor profile than I was really looking for. When you want falafel it just doesn't taste the same. The hummus was good as was the pita bread. The service was great. I enjoyed the meal but I would not seek it out again simply because of the pea protein option. Of course it's great they offer a meat substitute but it wasn't something I would seek out for Mediterranean food.
